A shockingly malnourished 4-year-old Brooklyn girl weighed just 15 pounds when she was found dead yesterday by her mother in their filthy home — and there was evidence she’d previously been tied to a bed with twine, cops said. Marchella Pierce, who had battled health problems since her premature birth, “looks like she starved to death,” a law-enforcement source said. “Her legs are like sticks. You can see her ribs.”

Marchella’s mother, Carlotta Brett-Pierce, who boasts on MySpace that she is a “proud parent,” has been the subject of two Administration for Children’s Services probes. But the agency’s contractor, responsible for checking in on the kids, did so “far less than the required two to three times per week,” a source said. Brett-Pierce, 30, was busted on drug charges last night after cops, armed with a search warrant, allegedly found narcotics in her home on Madison Street in Bushwick.
Authorities, who are awaiting an autopsy results today before deciding whether to charge her with the child’s death, placed her two other kids in ACS custody.
Brett-Pierce told cops she found Marchella not breathing and cold to the touch at around 6:30 a.m. The girl was in her mom’s bed. Nearby in the messy room was a smaller bed, with four lengths of twine tied to the top and bottom end rails, cops said. Marchella’s ankles had marks that were consistent with her being tied up, police said. There was an oxygen tank in the room, too.
Authorities said it was not clear if Marchella died from negligence or because of health problems that had plagued her since she was born weighing just 1 pound, 4 ounces.

There used to be a time where men would walk around singing “THIS IS A MAN’S WORLD” (in a James Brown voice) but TIMES ARE CHANGING… TIMES ARE CHANGING!!! According to the Wall Street Journal, back in 2008, single childless women are bringing home more bacon than men. In most cities, small and big, women are earning an average of 8% greater than men and especially in Atlanta, the women are leading…

Even though the state of the economy has been in a downfall, women are still holding it down and according to experts, they will continue to elevate…

The earning power of young single women has surpassed that of their male peers in metropolitan areas around the U.S., a shift that is being driven by the growing ranks of women who attend college and move on to high-earning jobs.

In 2008, single, childless women between ages 22 and 30 were earning more than their male counterparts in most U.S. cities, with incomes that were 8% greater on average, according to an analysis of Census Bureau data released Wednesday by Reach Advisors, a consumer-research firm in Slingerlands, N.Y.
Real Time Economics

The trend was first identified several years ago in the country’s biggest cities, but has broadened out to smaller locales and across more industries. Beyond major cities such as San Francisco and New York, the income imbalance is pronounced in blue-collar hubs and the fast-growing metro areas that have large immigrant populations.

The greatest disparity is in Atlanta, where young, childless women were paid 121% the level of their male counterparts, according to Reach Advisors.

These women have gotten a leg up for several reasons. They are more likely than men to attend college, raising their earning potential.

Between 2006 and 2008, 32.7% of women between 25 and 34 had a bachelor’s degree or higher, compared with 25.8% of men, according to the Census.

And men have been disproportionately hit by heavy job losses in blue-collar industries.

“I expect the trend to continue,” said Andrew Beveridge, a professor at Queens College at the City University of New York, who has studied the phenomenon.

Women still have a long way to go when it comes to equal pay but eventually that too will change!!!

We already showed you pictures of Brandy and her dancing partner out at Katsuya getting acquainted with each other now, she’s taking full advantage of every little piece of limelight she can get her hands on. In a recent interview with Us, Brandy says she’s about to step it up a notch in the sexy department:

“I’m so into it! I know I’m never going to look as sexy as I will on this show. You have to be sexy on this show!

What people don’t understand is I have never been a good dancer! Dancing has never been one of my strongest points. With this show, you have to do things you’ve never done before, and I’ve never done anything like this. It’s a whole new experience!

Biggest Feat?:
That first performance. When I get through that first performance, I think I’ll be OK. My daughter will be there and she’s very feisty; she’ll say, ‘Mom, don’t embarrass yourself!”

Seems like Brandy’s daughter will have her looking right and if Brandy starts to slip, her daughter will say “Mom, don’t embarrass yourself!”

What The Hell VH1??: Real & Chance Have Another Reality Show… Ain’t That A B*tch!!!

Clearly… VH1 doesn’t care about quality because they keep putting out these wack a$$ reality shows starring nobodies doing absolutely NOTHING!!! Some how, some way, the brothers that were fighting over Ms. Muppet Baby, Tiffany Pollard, have another reality show called “Real & Chance: Legend Hunters”…

Sounds Like a Waste of Money!!!

"Real & Chance: Legend Hunters." On the show, the brothers will go out in search of the truth behind creatures of natural lore. In their travels, Real and Chance hope to determine whether Hogzilla, Big Foot, the Loch Ness monster and the man-eating Catfish of Kali River are real. 

While the brothers might be good with horses, they're not exactly great outdoorsmen. VH1 claims that the pair jump at nearly everything that goes bump in the night—and even a few things that don't.  

"They're scared of bugs, bats, frogs and almost anything that slithers or crawls," the network said in a statement. "They can't take a fish off a hook because slimy things scare them."

Translation: This show should be highly entertaining. To see if the Stallionaires are able to uncover the truth, watch "Real & Chance: Legend Hunters" when it debuts on September 19 at 9 p.m. EST.  

VH1 is literally throwing away money… clearly they are desperate!!! There would be no Real & Chance if it wasn’t for “I Love New York”. There would be no “I Love New York” if it wasn’t for Flavor Flav… DAYYUMM YOU FLAVOR FLAV, THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!!!!

Nicki Minaj was on the receiving end of more questions about her “let’s-be-honest” lyrics and her spastic expressions and rhyme schemes and once again managed to come up with some pretty clever answers. Check them out below.

In a recent interview with Paper Magazine Nicki Minaj reveals her “brighter” side — including her love of Shakespeare and her creative instinct.

On Her Gay Audience And Flair For Being Different:

“I see videos on YouTube where they impersonate me, and they do an amazing freaking job of dressing up as me,” she says. In past interviews she’s mentioned her own bi-curious leanings and has predicted hip-hop will one day embrace its first openly gay artist. But as far as being a gay-positive presence in hip-hop, Minaj insists, “I didn’t set out to do that. I just like to put a spotlight on the people who support me, and it just so happens, you know, that the gay community has supported me — more than I ever could have imagined.”

Likewise, she claims it’s a happy accident that her rapping style is as Sybil-ic as it is syllabic, with accents, voices, characters (“Nicki Lewinsky” and Harijiku Barbie” are two favorites), drops in pitch — as though she’s speaking in tongues. “It happened like a lot of things I do — as a mistake,” Minaj explains. “Like the freegin’ clip in my hair in the ‘My Chick Bad’ video with Ludacris. My hairdresser was curling one side and using a clip to hold my hair. I was like, ‘Leave it.’ They all looked at me like I was insane — but that’s something I do. It’s the same thing with my cadences: I’m probably running out of breath or something crazy, and it’s like, ‘This is not going to work.’ But then I’m like, ‘Let me listen,’ and it winds up being magical and I just keep it and I’m like, ‘Yeah, I love it.’”
