Watch: Will Ferrell’s George W. Bush Comments On The Death Of ‘Ardilla The Gopher’

Posted: 05 May 2011 06:30 PM PDT

President Barack Obama had the honor of announcing to the world that Osama bin Laden has been killed. Actor Will Ferrell, who is famous for his impersonation of George W. Bush, made a video for Funny or Die that kinda pokes fun at that announcement. In his video, Ferrell‘s GWB announces to the world (and the folks at The Sizzler) that he oversaw the successful killing of a gopher named Ardilla in his backyard. The video is really funny so, yeah, you gotta check it out.

LMAOO!! The video is funny, yes, but I damn near lost my shizz when Ferrell described how the gopher was buried in accordance with gopher tradition. What do y’all think of this vid? It’s hilarious, right?

Prince William Returns To Military Duty Just Days After His Royal Wedding To Kate Middleton

Posted: 05 May 2011 05:30 PM PDT

Prince William, the new Duke of Cambridge, married his ladylove Kate Middleton, the new Duchess of Cambridge, in a lavish ceremony in London, England last weekend … but today we learn that Wills has already gotten himself back to work with the Royal Air Force rescue team that he has been assigned to. When last we saw Prince Wills in his military wear, he was visiting with his grandmother Queen Elizabeth, II in early April. But there is no rest for the weary as Prince Wills gets back to work saving lives today.

A few days ago his every move was watched by an estimated two billion people. But today it was back to more familiar territory as Prince William returned to work at his RAF base in Anglesey. Wearing sunglasses he was behind the steering wheel of an Audi seen arriving at the Air and Sea Rescue HQ. It was thought Prince William and his bride would honeymoon this week until it emerged that the new Duke of Cambridge had to return to work. Despite his status as second in line to the throne he, like his colleagues, had to apply for leave like his colleagues. He was given a week off for the wedding but was told that he would have to split any further holiday requests – hence the delayed departure date.

It has been reported that William and Kate WILL get to honeymoon soon but not this week. Later this Summer, the couple will be visiting Canada and the US so they’ve got a lot of traveling to come in their future. So while father Prince Charles is in DC today and new Captain brother Prince Harry is getting back to his duties as well, Prince William is back to saving lives. All in a days work for a prince, I suppose.

Mariah Carey Shares A Photo From Her Twins’ First Photo Shoot

Posted: 05 May 2011 04:30 PM PDT

Earlier today we saw photos of proud new daddy Nick Cannon beaming ear to ear in the happy glow of fatherhood but right now we get a sneak peek at the twins’ first photoshoot. Mariah Carey retweeted a couple of photos that show outfits that Monroe and Moroccan Scott will be wearing in their first photoshoot. Check out the cuteness below.

@mariahcarey @nickcannon So comfy! Pk & Blue Robes for NC & MC to match #dembabies Roc & Roe. #photoshoot :-D

OMG … so adorable. Because these little outfits are labeled #photoshoot, it seems very clear that Mariah, Nick and “dem babies” are posing for their first official family photos today. Because the shoot is taking place today, it’s very feasible we may see the photos on the cover and in the pages of some magazine as early as next week. It will not be long now … very soon we will be getting our first look at Mariah and Nick‘s teeny tiny babies.

Watch: ‘Conan The Barbarian’ Releases A First Movie Trailer

Posted: 05 May 2011 03:30 PM PDT

A few days ago, we got to see a few gnarly photos of Jasom Momoa as Conan in the new reboot film Conan the Barbarian, due out in August. Today we get to feast our eyes on the FIRST movie trailer released for the film. Thus far we’ve only seen promo photos of Momoa as Conan so this video footage from the film is a welcome sight. We also get our first look at actress Rose McGowan in the film as the character Marique … and she looks like a pretty badass villain with a seriously serious hair’do. Check out the trailer for Conan the Barbarian below.

When I heard that McGowan was in the film, I immediately assumed she would be one of Conan‘s allies … not one of his villains. I have to say, I love the idea of Rose playing an evil character. She looks really freakin’ cool, I think. I love the ‘do. Here is the trailer in full:

It looks pretty damn sweet don’t? Conan the Barbarian hits theaters in late Summer on August 19. I’m excited. It looks like this new Conan film franchise will seriously outdo the original franchise from the early 80′s. What do y’all think?

First Look: ABC Releases The First Image Of The New ‘Charlie’s Angels’

Posted: 05 May 2011 02:30 PM PDT

In mid-March we got to see some (fairly staged) photos of the new cast of Charlie’s AngelsAnnie Ilonzeh, Minka Kelly and Rachael Taylor — on the set of their new show. Today we get our first look at the first official promo photo of the Angels that has just been released by ABC to Entertainment Weekly magazine. It’s still unclear what the tone of his new version of Charlies Angel’s will be like (semi-serious like the 70s/80s TV series or obviously comical like the films from the 2000s) but if there’s one thing we can glean from this new promo photo … this new batch of Angels is damn pretty.

As networks prepare to select which pilots are getting series orders, here's one project that doesn't have to worry: ABC's Charlie's Angels is considered a lock to get a spot on the network's schedule next season. And here's a fresh look at Minka Kelly, Annie Ilonzeh and Rachael Taylor from the show (and don't they look like they're having fun?).

In all honesty, the 70s TV series revival show that I’m MOST looking forward to this Fall is Wonder Woman … but I really did love watching Charlie’s Angels way back in the day and I LOVED the films that came out in the early 2000s. I’m terribly curious about this new version of Angels so I’ll deffo be tuning in for sure. What do y’all think of this new batch of Angels. Will YOU be tuning in to watch these ladies in action?

President Obama Visits NYC To Honor The World Trade Center Memorial

Posted: 05 May 2011 01:30 PM PDT

On Sunday night, President Barack Obama announced to the world that US military forces killed Osama bin Laden, the mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks on NYC and Washington DC (among other Al Qaeda terrorist attacks around the world) and today he made his way to the World Trade Center Memorial site in Lower Manhattan to lay a wreath at the foot of the Survivor’s Tree in honor of the lives that were lost on September 11, 2001. Before he made his visit to the WTC Memorial site, Obama paid a visit to an NYC firehouse to visit with first responders stationed there. In the wake of the news of bin Laden’s death, today is a day for somber remembrance and honor of the victims and heroes of 9/11.

Marking Osama bin Laden’s death where the terrorist inflicted his greatest damage, President Barack Obama visited the Manhattan firehouse that sustained the heaviest losses on Sept. 11 and proclaimed that bin Laden’s killing sent the message that “we will never forget.” “This is a symbolic site of the extraordinary sacrifice that was made on that terrible day,” the president said Thursday after shaking hands with firefighters at Engine 54, Ladder 4, Battalion 9. The firehouse in New York’s theater district lost 15 firefighters on Sept. 11, 2001. As for the killing of bin Laden by U.S. commandos, Obama declared, “‘When we say we will never forget, we mean what we say.” “What happened on Sunday because of the courage of our military and the outstanding work of our intelligence sent a message around the world but also sent a message here back home,” he said. Obama said he hoped the outcome brought the firefighters “some comfort,” thanked them for their daily sacrifice and said they had a president and administration that has `’got your back.” In his brief remarks, the president never mentioned bin Laden’s name. Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who led the city in dark days after the attacks, joined Obama in the visit to the station. The president viewed a bronze memorial plaque commemorating the firefighters who were lost and then lunched privately with a dozen firefighters. President Barack Obama has dropped in on a New York City police station in lower Manhattan, continuing a tour of New York 9/11 landmarks in the wake of the U.S. commando raid that killed terror mastermind Osama bin Laden … telling New York police officers “‘there are still going to be threats out there,” alluding to the death of Osama bin Laden. Of the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attack that bin Laden masterminded, he says: `’We keep them in our hearts. We haven’t forgotten” … President Barack Obama has laid a wreath at the site of the collapsed Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York, paying tribute to victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attack. The stop was the culmination of a New York visit in the wake of the U.S. commando raid in Pakistan that killed terror mastermind Osama bin Laden. The president was accompanied by elected officials from the New York area. He also laid a wreath at the foot of the Survivor Tree, which sustained damage during the attack but was freed from the rubble.

I understand President Obama made no remarks at the WTC Memorial, choosing instead to mark the occasion in somber silence. It’s quite a site to see new construction going up on the site of the former World Trade Center buildings. Its hard to believe it’s been almost 10 years since the buildings were destroyed on September 11, 2001.

Earlier this morning, President Obama welcomed Prince Charles of Wales to the White House for a quick visit before he jetted off to NYC. Here is a photo and some deets about their meeting early this morning:

U.S. President Barack Obama hosted Britain’s Prince Charles at the White House today as the pair got back to business after one of the most memorable weekends of both their lives – though for very different reasons. Mr Obama is still basking in the glow of his victory in catching the world’s most wanted terrorist, while Prince Charles has been at the forefront of a global outpouring of affection for the Royal family after his son William married Kate Middleton. Mr Obama told the Prince of Wales that America had been mesmerized by the Royal wedding. The President described how he was impressed by William and Kate’s handling of the pressure of the big day, and joked with Charles how he could not have coped with such a situation himself – he had just 300 guests at his wedding to Michelle. But after his conduct this weekend, when he remained poker-faced while knowing that he had just taken the biggest gamble of his presidency, suggests otherwise. There was much laughter as the Prince and the President chatted for the first time since 2009 – suggesting that, perhaps not surprisingly, the pair were both in very good moods.

It has been a very busy day for our President. ABC News is reporting that President Obama will meet on Friday the elite Navy SEAL team that carried out the hugely successful assault on the bin Laden compound in Pakistan. I bet that is one meeting that President Obama is really looking forward to.

Hollywood Ballers

Posted: 05 May 2011 12:30 PM PDT

Last night David and I met up with our good friends Tamar, Ollie and Rob for a fun bowling date at Lucky Strike in Hollywood, CA. Tam and I have been trying to work out a time where we could all hang out for sometime now but our schedules have been getting in the way. We finally managed to get the time set and last night was our bowling date night. To be honest, we collectively did NOT exhibit the best bowling skillz last night … but we did have a blast and that is really all that matters.

David and I supped on delicious pizza at Prizzi’s Piazza before bowling and for those of you who are fans of their amazing food, I have the sad duty to report that the restaurant is closing at the end of this month. I was very shocked and very bummed to see the notice of closure on the door as we walked in. If you love Prizzi’s pizza, you’re running out of time to enjoy it :(

In happier news, tho, our bowling date was nothing but a total blast. Lucky Strike was pretty empty so we had a lot of room to play. David ended up winning but we all did our best … and that’s all that matters ;D

Today is Cinco de Mayo and while I normally would be out whooping it up with margaritas tonight, I’ll instead be jammin’ my buns off at the first of another set of 3 Prince concerts at The Forum in Inglewood, CA. I am really excited for tonight’s show … I’m hearing rumors that Stevie Wonder *may* make a surprise appearance at one of the shows this weekend. My guess is that if Stevie does appear, it’ll prolly be during Saturday’s concert. I cannot wait to see what’s gonna happen tonight :D Happy Thursday!

Wes Bentley Has Been Cast As Seneca Crane In ‘The Hunger Games’

Posted: 05 May 2011 10:52 AM PDT

Last week it was reported that Woody Harrelson was up for the role of Head Gamemaster Seneca Crane in the upcoming big screen adaptation of The Hunger Games. Today we learn that Harrelson did NOT get the Seneca Crane role because Deadline reports that actor Wes Bentley (American Beauty) has nabbed the role of Seneca. I understand that Woody Harrelson is still being considered for another, very important role in Games and it’s rumored that John C. Reilly is NOT LONGER being considered for the role of Haymitch Abernathy. So does that mean that Woody will play Haymitch? Lots of Hunger Games casting goss to chew on today.

Lionsgate and director Gary Ross have set Wes Bentley to play Seneca Crane in The Hunger Games, the film that stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth. Crane is the head gamesmaker of the 74th Hunger Games, which pits teens from 12 districts in a televised battle to the death. This is the first of several adult roles that will be cast. Rumored participants include John C. Reilly, as District 12′s only living past winner and current drunk Haymitch, but Lionsgate labeled that absolutely false when it came up a couple weeks ago.

HMMM … not sure what to think here. I absolutely imagined that Seneca Crane would be a much older man. Wes Bentley seems too young for the role to me. When I first heard that Bentley nabbed a role in The Hunger Games, my immediate thought was that he won the role of Cinna. But … Seneca it is. As for Woody Harrelson, I understand that he is still very much in contention for a role in The Hunger Games … and it’s possible that he’ll end up playing Haymitch instead of John C. Reilly, who is reportedly NO longer up for the role of Haymitch:

Despite numerous reports saying the [John C. Reilly] was the top contender for the meaty and crusty middle-aged Haymitch role, a source close to the film tells us exclusively that the part is not going to Reilly. Good thing we like Lionsgate’s next idea for Haymitch even better! Our Hunger mole tells us the production’s currently smitten with Woody Harreslson, who we think could actually nail the bad-ass role.

While I loved the idea of Reilly playing Haymitch, I’d be OK with Harrelson playing the role. He’s old enough to play the role in a gross, sloppy and drunken way and yet still believable as a handsome former Hunger Games champion. Of course, none of this is actually news until it’s confirmed but … this is the way casting the role of Haymitch is starting to look.

So what do y’all think? Do you like Wes Bentley as Seneca Crane? Do you like the idea of Woody Harrelson as Haymtich Abernathy?

Did Guy Ritchie Get Circumcised For Madonna?

Posted: 05 May 2011 10:15 AM PDT

Um, ouch. A new report going around this week makes the claim that Guy Ritchie, ex-husband of Madonna, underwent a circumcision to have the foreskin removed from his penis so that he could be in compliance with Maddy‘s Kabbalah beliefs. Now, baby boys get circumcised all the time … but apparently, Ritchie was among the British men who was not snipped as a child. If true, it really sounds like Guy truly loved his wife a lot … enough to get part of his penis cut off.

There are many things a man would do for the woman he loves but not every man would consider losing part of his manhood. But Guy Ritchie is said to have agreed to say sayonara to his foreskin to please his then-wife Madonna. It has been claimed that [Ritchie] … was circumcised to adhere to the Material Girl's Kabbalah beliefs. Karen Berg, a spiritual adviser to Madonna, is reported to have said that Ritchie underwent the surgeon's knife to please his then-wife, according to New York magazine. The mother-of-two who co-founded the modern Kabbalah Centre in L.A. is reported to have said that Madonna: 'keeps a kosher home, she observes Shabbat, she circumcised her son and had her [ex-] husband circumcised' Madonna, who was raised Roman Catholic is said to have heard about Kabbalah for the first time at a dinner party in Los Angeles while pregnant with her daughter Lourdes. And in an article published in Israeli's biggest daily newspaper, Yediot Ahronot in 2009, the star described being introduced to Kabbalah at a time when she 'something was missing in my life'.

UGH! Madonna may have found something that was “missing” in her life but Guy‘s conversion to Kabbalah resulted in him losing something … very important. What’s even worse is that Guy got his penis snipped for Madonna and she STILL divorced him. It really sounds like Guy truly got the short end of the stick … quite literally. Poor thing :(

Watch: Beyoncé & First Lady Michelle Obama Dance To ‘Move Your Body’

Posted: 05 May 2011 09:45 AM PDT

A couple of weeks ago we got to check out an AMAZING video of Beyoncé workin’ her buns off in a new video she produced for First Lady Michele Obama‘s new physical fitness program for kids called Let’s Move! Today we get to see MORE amazing video of Beyoncé dancing with a group of students in Harlem, NY as well as video of First Lady Obama busting out a few moves of her own in Washington DC. Beyoncé is an amazing dancer, no doubt, but First Lady Obama really works it OUT in her MUST SEE video below.

RnB superstar Beyonce got her grove on today as she joined a group of New York pupils for a dancing session. The 29-year-old singer, who has shed weight in recent months, surprised students in Harlem as part of First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move initiative to fight childhood obesity. Teenagers danced to Move Your Body, which the singer recorded for the initiative. Middle School students from around the country were participating in the four-minute flash dance routine simultaneously. Meanwhile Mrs Obama took part in the dance at the Alice Deal Middle School in Washington. Beyonce … posed with Chancellor of New York City Public Schools Dennis Walcott ahead of the dance.

I love this campaign so much. Childhood obesity is a huge problem in this country and I can’t think of a better way to get kids active than to inspire them to literally move their bodies by dancing. No question, Beyoncé can dance … but look at Michelle Obama go! She has to be the coolest First Lady this country has ever had. Love these videos, love this campaign! Well done, ladies!

First Look: Lady Gaga’s New Music Video For ‘Judas’ Leaks To The Internets

Posted: 05 May 2011 08:33 AM PDT

The new music video for Lady Gaga‘s new single Judas has just leaked its way online. Taking a cue from the motorcycle-inspired album artwork for her new album Born This Way, Gaga and her “king with no crown” can be seen riding around with a bunch of bikers (who are named after the 12 apostles of the Bible) as she sings about her love of Judas Juda-a-a. Wanna check it out? Watch the full music video below for Judas by Lady Gaga.

Hmmm … I’m not sure what I think about this video. There seems to be a lot of religious imagery thrown in just for the sake of throwing it in. Gaga does get stoned to death at the end so, there’s that. The song isn’t one of my faves but I can’t tell if the video helps or hurts the song for me. What do y’all think? Do you love it?

Happy New Dad Nick Cannon Visits His Twin Babies In The Hospital

Posted: 05 May 2011 07:52 AM PDT

Last weekend we learned the happy news that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon became the proud parents of their twin babies. Yesterday we learned that Mimi and Nick decided to name their girl and boy babies Monroe and Moroccan Scott (respectively). Today we get our first look at the absolutely THRILLED new dad as he ran a few errands before heading back to the hospital to visit his wife and newborn children yesterday afternoon.

Will you look at the smile on this man’s face? I know I may tease Nick Cannon a bit for being Mariah‘s younger hubby but I can’t help but be so happy for both he and Mimi on the birth of their twin children. While I’ll admit that I didn’t really have faith that Mariah and Nick would be in it for the long haul, I will happily eat my words. The pair have been the perfect couple since they were wed 4 years ago and they only grow closer and more in love with each passing day. I’m sure it won’t be long until we get to meet little Monroe and Morrocan but in the meantime, I’m happy to see that Nick is elatedly enjoying his time with his newborn children.

Hugh Hefner Shares The Invitation To His Wedding To Crystal Harris

Posted: 05 May 2011 07:22 AM PDT

With just under a month to go until the wedding of Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris, the final preparations for the nuptials are beginning to fall into place. This week, family and friends of Hugh and Crystal are starting to receive their invitations to the ceremony that will take place on June 18. Hugh shared a photo on his official Twitter profile of the wedding invitation and as you can see below, it is appropriately bedazzled with plastic jewels.

Friends and family are already receiving our wedding invitation

I don’t think it’s any big surprise that the wedding will take place at the Playboy Mansion here in SoCal so … if you’re on Hugh and Crystal‘s wedding invitation list, you should watch your mailboxes for an invite that looks like this. Despite the stick-on jewels, I have to say … the invitation looks much less gaudy than I expected. In no time at all, we will all be toasting and congratulating the holy union of 85 year old Hugh Hefner to his 24 year old bride Crystal Harris.

Tori Amos Announces The Release Of A New Album Titled ‘Night Of Hunters’

Posted: 05 May 2011 07:04 AM PDT

A few weeks ago I posted some information about a rumor going around about the possible release of a new Tori Amos album (reportedly titled Reckless Night). Yesterday afternoon, the news was confirmed officially … Tori IS releasing a new album in September but it will be titled Night of Hunters. In a surprising move, the new album will be released on Deutsche Grammophon — a classical music record label. In fact, the entire album is inspired by classical music and will focus on the themes of the hunter and the hunted, as described by Tori herself. Click below to see the presumed album art for Night of Hunters and read all the known deets about the album and its accompanying world tour.

Tori Amos marks her debut album for Deutshe Grammophon, the world's most celebrated classical music record label with Night of Hunters, set for release this September. The iconic, platinum-selling singer-songwriter continues her legacy of ground-breaking recordings with this 21st century song cycle inspired by select classical pieces spanning the last 400 years. With Night of Hunters, Amos carries on the classical tradition of variations on a theme: taking inspiration from classical forms to create a bold new work while paying tribute to the mastery of the original compositions. On Night of Hunters, which she wrote and produced, Amos comments:

“It’s a 21st century song cycle inspired by classical music themes spanning over 400 years. I have used the structure of a song cycle to tell an ongoing, modern story. The protagonist is a woman who finds herself in the dying embers of a relationship. In the course of one night she goes through an initiation of sorts that leads her to reinvent herself allowing the listener to follow her on a journey to explore complex musical and emotional subject matter. One of the main themes explored on this album is the hunter and the hunted and how both exist within us."

The release of Night of Hunters will be supported by a tour in Europe and the U.S. starting in Helsinki, Finland on September 28th. With more than 12 million albums sold and multiple Grammy nominations, Tori Amos is one of the most successful and influential artists of her generation. A pioneer across multiple platforms, she was the first major label artist to offer a single for download, has had her songs turned into graphic novels, and has produced pioneering videos throughout her career. She is renowned for her passionate and broad fan-base, her critically and commercially successful tours, and her ever evolving live show. Ms. Amos is also a noted humanitarian and co-founder of RAINN (Rape, Abuse, and Incest National Network), which is the United States' largest anti-sexual assault organization.

Thus far, only European tour dates have been announced for Tori‘s upcoming world tour but I’m told that the announcement of US dates is forthcoming. Additionally, ToriAmos.com will be updated soon with exclusive song previews from Night of Hunters. I can’t EVEN tell you how excited I am by this announcement of new Tori music. As you may know, Tori Amos is one of my favorite musicians of all time and is my absolute favorite female singer. This year is already turning out to be a fantastic year for new music and tours … adding Tori Amos to the mix is just too amazing. Here are the announced European dates for Tori‘s Night of Hunters tour, I’ll be sure to update with US tour dates when those become available:
