Beyonce is taking over the mag covers in preparation of her upcoming album 4.  She shot triple covers for W magazine's June 2011 issue.  And a sneak peek has hit the net.

W magazine is Beyonce's follow up to covering the new issue of Billboard magazine, which honors her receiving the Billboard Millenium Award of 2011. 

If only she would drop this "Run The World (Girls)" vid....

Her girl Kelly Rowland offered up congrats recently as well.  She told media this week:

"I'm so excited for my sister. Nobody deserves it more than she does. Ever since we were kids, we've worked hard, and she's carried that into her solo career."

And speaking of Kelly....

 

She's set to release her new album, Here I Am, this fall.  She's set to release the exact date soon.  And she also dished on what inspired the title of this LP:

"I was talking to my product manager," recalls Rowland, who's currently working in Los Angeles. "I said I wanted people to know that this is the record, the sound I¹ve been working toward... that here I am. And she said, that's the title. It just connected with my heart and the music as well. It stands for everything I've gone through and thought about for this record as a woman. It's very strong."

Is Will Smith Taking A Step Back...Starring As A Slave?

Kill Bill director Quentin Tarantino is in talks to produce a Western flick that will star Will Smith. But if Will signs on for the film, he'll be playing a slave.  Deets inside....

Quentin Tarantino has been discussing his next project called Django Unchained which will be "(A) western whose lead character is a former slave who is in league with Waltz to save his wife from an evil plantation owner."  

And Quentin, who has always expressed his love of Black culture, wants Will Smith to star in the flick.  But that means Mr. Smith would appearing as a slave.  Would that be a step back for the world's biggest movie star?

Hmmm.....it could be the type of role that causes Will to pull on a set of acting skills we didn't know he had.  And it seems like he would still be a hero in the film so...maybe the storyline could work.

Would you go see it?

 

Also in Will Smith news, he was forced to relocate the movable mansion we told you about, to a vacant lot earlier this week.  It seems like most SoHo residents were unimpressed with his big trailer and big ego.

Albert Haynesworth Pleads Not Guilty To Abuse Charges Saying He "DOESN'T EVEN LIKE BLACK GIRLS"!

We told you previously that Redskin baller Albert Haynesworth had rejected the government's plea deal regarding his abuse allegations, and now we know a part of his defense.  Albert says he didn't harass the waitress because he doesn't like Black girls.  Get the deets inside....

 

Through his lawyer, A. Scott Bolden, Washington Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth pleaded not guilty, this week, on a misdemeanor charge of sexual abuse stemming from a W Hotel incident three months ago.

In the police report, filed on February 13, a waitress said her hands were full of glasses as she cleared a table where Albert was sitting. Albert asked if it was OK to place his credit card in her blouse and the waitress nodded her head yes, according to the report. He is then said to have pulled a "Nelly" video move and placed his card in her blouse, slid it down her chest, then began to caress her breast.

For his part, Albert says charges against were him lies because he “[doesn’t] even like Black girls.”  He also said the waitress was mad because he didn't leave her a large tip.

But a detective investigating the case claims that Albert told him,

“I know what this is about: [The waitress] is just upset I have a white girlfriend. I couldn’t tell you the last time I dated a Black girl.”

SMH......a non-jury trial was scheduled for July 11.  It's one thing to have your preference in the type of man/woman you lke.  It's a whole other to publicly and condescendingly bash black women (LIKE YOUR MAMA) at the same time.  So for that--Mr. Haynesworth, don't nobody like your simple ass neither.  It's always the ones who look...like that...who talk THE most ish about black women.  Just sayin'...

BONUS: The ladies of "The View" discussed interracial relationships yesterday in light of Jill Scott receiving criticism for being chosen as a performer at the White House poetry event even though she said--a year ago--she "winces" when she sees a successful black man with a white woman.  Here's the clip in case you missed it:

YARD SALE! Alicia Keys Auctions Pieces From Long Island Mansion, Including A Trampoline And Samurai Sword

She hasn't been able to sell her house as is.  So Alicia Keys is auctioning off items from her Long Island home on May 22nd, according to reps from American Auctions.  See the items up for grab inside...

 

Ms. Keys already slashed the price of her Syosset, Long Island, NY home to just under $3 mill after purchasing it for $14 mill.  And since no one wants to buy it still, she's selling the ish from inside.

According to American Auctions, Alicia Keys is selling off items from her 9,000 sq. ft. Long Island Mansion on May 22nd.  So what type of items could you own that formely belonged to Mrs. Beatz?

Jennifer Hudson had a rare night out with her man last night at the Samsung Infuse 4G For AT&T Launch Event at Milk Studios in Hollywood.  Nicki Minaj was the special blonde bob'd performer, and Ciara, Kelly Rowland, and others came out to party too.

J-Hud cuddled up with her boo David Otunga last night at the Samsung party.  The two seem to rarely go out together these days, but Jenny looks happy as pie when they do.

It's Bob Marley Week on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon."  So what better way to celebrate than with Ms. Lauryn Hill.  We've got the clips of her performing "Could You Be Loved" and "Chances Are."  Plus, Lil Kim hit up Mobb Deep's first concert in 3 years last night in NYC and hit the stage to perform the "Quiet Storm" remix.

For all you hip hop heads--Mobb Deep reunited on stage for the first time in 3 years last night at NYC's Best Buy Theater.  Prodigy (who was just released from prison) and Havoc had the crowd going nuts all night.  And it was only right they brought out the Queen Bee for their Quiet Storm (Remix).  And dare we say it....Kim's actually working the pink mini dress look. And here we go!  All you "Basketball Wives" fans can get ready for another season of catfights, man stealing, and pimp slaps, and chicks who aren't married being called "wives."  The new promo pics of the new cast have been released.  Including the new chick--who's actually married--and who will indeed set off some fights with Evelyn and Jennifer.

Shaunie O'Neal is bringing back her cash cow of girl-foolery for a third season.  The "Basketball Wives" are returning with an old "wife" in tow (Suzie) and a new actual wife named Meeka Claxton.  On a sidenote, did Evelyn skip out on the season 3 cast shoot?  this is her same pic from last year's promo shoot.  Interesting.

 

Meeka resides in Miami and is married to retired NBA baller Speedy Claxton.  She also has her own business--Allure Realty Company.  Married AND has a job?  Well that may piss certain chicks on this show off.  Maybe that's why she's the mystery woman who was fighting with Tami at a Polo event recently.

NeNe Leakes Blasts Star Jones, Talks Divorce And New Boyfriend On "Wendy" + Shemar Moore Doubles His Salary

NeNe Leakes stopped by "The Wendy Williams" show today to talk about Star Jones, her pending divorce and her new romance.  Get the deets inside and find out about Shemar Moore's salary increase. 

 

NeNe Leakes chatted up Wendy Williams today about what's going on in her life.  First things first....she still hates Star Jones.  She explained that she quit "Celebrity Apprentice" because Donald Trump sided with Star in their feud.  She also added that she never believed that Star was "afraid" of her.  She felt like Star played that card to get her kicked off the show.

She also told Wendy that she and Greg Leakes are still divorcing, which led to talk about NeNe's new man.  Though NeNe went silent, Wendy spilled the beans saying the man is much shorter than NeNe but also very well-off.

Shemar Moore's success on CBS's "Criminal Mind" just paid off in his pocket book.  Deadline.com reports that Shemar will double his salary from $50,000 an episode to $100K an episode when the show returns next fall.

For TUSH Magazine, Rose Cordero stars in "Adore Me" (a tribute to Josephine Baker).  With bedazzled head pieces, dark eye makeup and wavy hair, the model takes a page out of the 1920s.

Very nice.  Along with Italian Vouge, it seems that Europe has a better grasp on what "Black" beauty is and can be.

Nick Cannon Discusses The Twins + Lupe Fiasco & Trey Songz Will Perform At The 2011 MTV Movie Awards + Mayor Names Chicago Street After Oprah

Now that their twins are here, Nick Cannon is opening up about being a father and about being married to Mariah Carey.  Also, Lupe Fiasco has been added to the performers list for the 2011 MTV Movie Awards. Get the deets inside and find out what street was named after Oprah.

 

Funnyman Nick Cannon will be coming to Showtime on May 14 for his first comedy special.  During the show, he jokingly says he is set for ilfe (financially) because of his wife Mariah.  And he also talks about the baby names they chose, which have been getting lots of attention.  In a recent interview, he was asked about the names,

Yeah, I heard the names have been causing quite the controversy as well. [Laughs] It's funny, I always say we had our names picked out very early on -- we picked one of the names like the first date that we had. But it's kind of weird that they stayed the same. Monroe, obviously, my wife has always been inspired by Marilyn Monroe ... she bought her priceless piano and all that stuff. And I just like the idea that is was more than just naming our daughter Marilyn. I think that would've been a little too cliché. Monroe is a very strong name -- it sounds really elegant.

And then Moroccan was kind of more my pick. When you think about Moroccan, it's kind of both of our names together -- Mariah and Nick together. And I always like the name Rock. Rock Cannon. It sounded like a strong name. We also have Moroccan rooms in our houses in L.A. and in New York. I've always thought that was kind of cool ... I actually proposed to my wife in the Moroccan room in New York, so it has a lot of symbolism. We like it a lot.

So what can we expect from his comedy special?

Obviously being married to Mariah Carey. That's the hilarious topic I touch on. Everything from Kanye West to Eminem, the N-word, all that stuff. There are a few controversial things, but everything's done with a light heart.

And on television....

Lupe Fiasco has been announced as a performer on the 2011 MTV Movie Awards where he will be joined by Trey Songz.  The pair are the first performers announced for the show that will be hosted by Jason Sudeikis on Sunday, June 5 at 9pm ET/8pm CT. 
 

"I'm excited to be performing on this year's MTV Movie Awards," said Lupe Fiasco. "I'm looking forward to putting together another special performance for my fans."

And when Trey was asked about the show, he said,

"‘Out Of My Head’ is such a dope song and easily one of my favorite collaborations to date. When Lupe first played the track for me I knew it was going to be a smash and I'm happy it's been received so well.  The ‘MTV Movie Awards’ are such a special event and Lupe is a great performer, so I am excited to be able to do the show with him."

I can't wait to see what the fellas come up with as far as their performance goes. 

 

And over in Chicago......

 

Yesterday, the mayor of Chicago, Richard M. Daley changed the name of the 100 block of North Carpenter Ave to Oprah Winfrey Way.  HARPO Studios, incidentally, now sits on Oprah Winfrey Way.  

During the ceremony, Oprah said,

"That’s better than an Oscar or an Emmy."

She continued, 

"It is really just a full-circle miracle story that a little coloured girl born in Kosciusko, Mississippi, on a red dirt road ends up with my name on a street in the greatest city in the world, Chicago. So, thank you."

Oprah shared her love of Chicago with the audience and thanked them for backing her dreams.

'I just would like to say, `thank you’ to the mayor and also to the city of Chicago for embracing me and allowing me to take a stand and make a stand here in this city.  'This place is my Tara. Scarlett O’Hara should have known about Chicago.'

Congrats to Oprah.  Now that she has a street named after her, I wonder if a "holiday" could be far behind.

Vanessa paired metallic purple nails and diamonds with her black, silver, and white floor length sparkling flowy gown for last night's NYC Ballet galla.
