Neil Patrick Harris & David Burtka Welcome The Arrival Of Their Twin Babies

Congratulations are in order for Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka because they have recently become the proud dads of their twin babies! NPH broke the news today of the twins’ arrival on his official Twitter account … he and hubby David welcomed the births their son Gideon Scott and daughter Harper Grace this past Tuesday October 12:

Neil Patrick Harris and partner David Burtka are officially fathers. The actors welcomed twins Gideon Scott and Harper Grace on Oct. 12, the How I Met Your Mother star announced on Twitter Friday. “All of us are happy, healthy, tired, and a little pukey,” he wrote. Harris, 37, announced that he and Burtka, 35, were becoming parents in August. “We’re super excited/nervous/thrilled. Hoping the press can respect our privacy,” he wrote on Twitter at the time. According to reports, the babies were born with the help of a surrogate.

You may recall we first heard about the couple’s twin babies back in August … and now they’re here! Can you believe it! Twin babies, a boy and a girl, for the happy dads! This is such great news!! Let’s send all of our LOVE and CONGRATS to the newly expanded family today! Woot!!!

I really love the look of these pics … they make DanRad look like a painting come to life. They also remind me of the make-up used in some productions of the ballet Swan Lake. It’s a fantastic photospread, I think. Check out a few more photos after the jump …


I just love how fearless DanRad is with his style. He always seems so willing to try something new, to step outside of the box other people put him into. I love these photos, this is one issue of Dazed & Confused that I am going to have to own.

Prince Announces The ‘Welcome 2 America’ Tour

Yesterday afternoon, the Purple Yoda himself — Prince announced that he will be hittin’ the road on tour starting in December with a few friends. At the press conference announcement at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, NY, Prince announced that the tour will be called Welcome 2 America:


Surprisingly, the press conference announcement yesterday was pretty light on details … like tour dates and cities, but Prince did announce a very impressive list of opening acts. Today, Prince headed to Harlem to the iconic Apollo Theater to announce he would be serving as Master of Ceremonies for a new concert series called ‘Welcome To America,’ which will be kicking off this December. Though he was mum on details like dates and tour stops, the 52 year-old singer/songwriter told the crowd that ‘Welcome to America’ will showcase some of his favorite artists including Maceo Parker, Janelle Monae, Mint Condition, Esperanza Spalding, Cassandra Wilson, Lalah Hathaway and Sheila E. The Minnesota native also confirmed that he and the New Power Generation would also perform nightly alongside featured acts. “If you’ve been to one of my shows, then you know what time it is,” the usually media shy artist joked. “You need to come early and come often because every time we play it’s always something new. I got a lot of hits. Bring friends, bring children, and bring foot spray because it’s gonna be funky” … Prince will play a special guitar for the duration of the concert series and then auction off the guitar for the benefit of Harlem Children’s Zone … At the press conference, Prince also debuted the full version of his new song ‘Rich Friends.’

HOLY MF SHIZZ! The New Power Generation? Are you kidding me? Let me tell you … I will do everything in my power to see Prince a few times on this tour, for sure. I hope to be able to see Prince + the NPG with Janelle Monáe as the opening act. I can’t think of a better mix of musicians to see all in one night. I will update with tour info as soon as it is made available. This new Prince tour sounds utterly amazing. I am so excited.

Jeremy Renner Joins Tom Cruise On The ‘Mission: Impossible 4’ Set

Yesterday we saw photos of former Lost star Josh Holloway on the Prague set of Mission: Impossible 4 and today we get to see photos of Academy Award nominee Jeremy Renner also on the set of M:I 4. Here are photos of Renner‘s first day of filming on set during a night shoot last night with lead star Tom Cruise:


While I like me some Josh Holloway, I’m really looking forward to seeing Jeremy Renner in M:I 4. Tommy boy is never the real draw for me where these movies are concerned but I have to admit, he does a really good job playing the role of super spy Ethan Hunt so … I don’t mind him at all. I’ve been so impressed with Jeremy in everything that I’ve seen (most recently The Town) so I know he’s gonna be great. I believe Mission: Impossible 4 will be in theaters next Summer … I can’t wait to see these boys in action.

Last night David and I made our way to The Mayan Theater to see M.I.A. and Rye Rye in concert … and we had THE best time ever:


While I was unfamiliar with Rye Rye‘s music before last night I can tell you right now, I am a fan! Rye Rye‘s short opening set was so much fun, with great songs and amazing dancing … I cannot wait to hear and see more from her. I’m telling you, both David and I were so impressed with Rye Rye‘s performance … she gained two instant fans last night. M.I.A. as usually … just killed her set. She was fantastic as well. Both ladies put on exceptionally fun shows … my only complaint was that M.I.A.‘s show was only an hour long. That being said, we got to see her play in a tiny theater and there wasn’t a bad seat in the house so … I’m really not complaining. We had a lot of fun. Here is video of M.I.A.‘s last song of the night, Born Free. She invited a bunch of folks up on stage with her:


The show is amazing … if M.I.A. and Rye Rye are coming your town you need to see them. I know the duo will be playing St. Andrew’s Hall in Detroit, MI next week and that is my fave venue in Detroit so, yeah, see this show!!

More Footage From ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ Episode Of ‘Glee’ Has Surfaced

On Monday we got our first look at The Rocky Horror Picture Show episode of Glee in photos and on Wednesday we got our first look at the Rocky Horror ep of Glee in video … today we get to see both new photos and video from the ep which will air on October 26. First up, a photo that was posted on Twitter that reveals which Glee castmember will play the “sweet transvestite from Transsexual, Transylvania” character Dr. Frank N. Furter:


That’s right, folks … to skirt any potential controversy, Glee will have Amber Riley (who plays Mercedes) portray the Transylvanian Transsexual on the ep. Ta da!! Ryan Gosling Makes A Damn Fine Grease Monkey

Late last month we got our first look at actor Ryan Gosling on the SoCal set of his new film Drive and today we get to see a few more photos from the set. This batch of photos are extremely hot because they feature Ryan‘s muscly arms smeared with sticky car grease … I mean, yeah … have a look:


We learned previously that Ryan will play a Hollywood stuntman who moonlights as a heist getaway driver … which sounds kind interesting. Alls I know is that if we get to see Ryan lookin’ this hot in the film, I’m so there. Gosling tends to give off that sexy vibe … even when he’s not even trying. How mundane would these photos be if almost anyone else were featured in them? This boy’s got that Canadian je ne sais quoi? that just makes me go ooh la la! MMM MMMM MMMM>

Taylor Momsen Does ‘Revolver’ Magazine

Gossip Girl star, Pretty Reckless frontwoman and Material Girl spokesmodel Taylor Momsen is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of the Heavy Metal Music magazine Revolver. At only 17 years old, Taylor is clearly trying to make a statement by posing on the cover of Revolver as a pissed off gun-toting lingerie model:

Seems that even though she’s only 17 she’s already a veteran when it comes to courting controversy. Taylor Momsen often takes heat for her overtly sexy look and choice of clothing and her latest magazine cover will do nothing to quieten the critics. The Gossip Girl actress poses, holding a rifle and a hand gun, with her usual thick black eye make-up and with her over-bleached blonde hair cascading around her shoulders, clad in lace topped black stockings and suspenders and barely there lingerie. Topping off her entirely age-inappropriate ensemble the teenager teeters on some sky-high stripper style perspex and patent heels. Momsen glares at the camera with her regular contrived bored teenager sneer, with the rifle slung over her shoulder and handgun pointing to the floor. The star loves to play-up her ‘dangerous’ ‘edgy’ image, admitting during interviews to everything from owning a vibrator to carrying a knife – apparently she ‘relaxes by opening and closing a switchblade’. And she gives little thought to the parents worried that she could be a negative influence on impressionable teenage daughters. ‘To be honest, I don't fucking care,’ she said in an interview earlier this year. ‘I didn't get into this to be a role model. So I’m sorry if I'm influencing your kids in a way that you don't like, but I can't be responsible for their actions. I don't care.’

Oh, Taylor … you are such a bad ass. Well, actually, not really. Acting out in this way, giving everyone a shitty attitude, trying to push the envelope stylistically and pretending not to care about anything is SO tired. First, it’s been done a million times before and been done better. Second, the I Don’t Care but Look At Me anyway attitude has been under the ownership of hipsters for years now … it’s neither interesting or controversial to me. The more I see from Taylor Momsen, the more her immaturity shows thru. She absolutely comes across like a spoiled brat with too much freedom desperately trying to get attention by pretending not to want it but screaming inside LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME! I mean, she’s young. Hopefully she’ll grow out of this phase and mature a bit but I think she’ll be trying to pull this silliness for a while yet. Am I shocked by the guns and lingerie? Not at all. She merely looks silly to me. What do y’all think? Is Taylor Momsen pushing the envelope here?

Ryan Kwanten Hits The Pool

True Blood hottie Ryan Kwanten is enjoying some much-deserved downtime this week as he maxes and relaxes by the pool in Hawaii. Here are a couple photos of Ryan chillin’ with some friends poolside at his resort hotel in Hawaii yesterday afternoon:


Ryan has had a bizzy year already so it’s nice to see him gettin’ some rest and relaxation. Unless he takes on a new film or TV project, he’s got a lot of vacation time ahead before he is due to film new scenes for the next season of True Blood. I surely hope he continues to enjoy this holiday vacation because where there is surf and sun, there is shirtlessness. The Incredible Hulk Is Making His Return To TV

A couple of weeks ago we learned that Warner Bros. and DC Comics have teamed up with writer David E. Kelly to put together a new Wonder Woman TV series and today we learn that ABC and Marvel Comics are doing the same with their superhero The Incredible Hulk. As some of you may recall, The Incredible Hulk had his own live action TV series in the late 70′s/early 80′s that stared Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno as Bruce Banner and The Hulk respectively … today we learn from Deadline that a new live action Hulk series is in the very early stages of development:

The Incredible Hulk is muscling his way to primetime TV. ABC is in very early stages of development of a live-action series adaptation of the popular Marvel comic book character. There is no writer on board yet with search underway. Marvel, which was acquired by ABC parent Disney last year for $4 billion, started a major push in TV in June with the launch of Marvel Television whose goal was to adapt Marvel characters and stories to the small screen. Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb (Smallville) and his team quickly zeroed in on The Hulk, with rumors of a potential Hulk live-action series first surfacing in mid-summer … The Hulk is the second major comic book character to get a primetime treatment for next season. Warner Bros. TV and DC Comics are developing a Wonder Woman series with The Practice creator David E. Kelley.

While Wonder Woman as my fave Superhero TV series when I was very young (I even preferred it to the Batman series), I used to love watching The Incredible Hulk with my mom. For some reason, she LOVED The Incredible Hulk so watching that show was kinda our thing together. At this early stage of development there is no way to know how the show will look but I really would LOVE it if they, once again, cast 2 actors to play Bruce Banner and The Hulk. The FX were pretty nonexistent in the original series and, yes, they could make the new TV series an FX powerhouse … but I loved the simplicity of the green make-up and bad wig used to make Lou Ferrigno into The Hulk. I’m pretty sure this new series will not go the make-up only route but still … a boy can dream. I’m happy to hear this news … it’ll be very cool to see both Wonder Woman and The Hulk back on primetime TV once again.

Plans Are In The Works For ‘Top Gun 2’

Tom Cruise may be bizzy these days filming a new Mission: Impossible film in Prague but word has it that he has agreed to sign on for a sequel to his classic 80′s film Top Gun. According to a new report from New York magazine, Paramount Studios is interested in making a sequel to Top Gun that would be updated for the times but will feature Cruise as possible a “grizzled Top Gun flight instructor”. HMMM. Read on for the deets:

Reinflate your beach volleyballs, don your aviators, and apply some Coppertone to your shaven chests, lads, for the sequel to Top Gun is nigh! Vulture has learned that Paramount Pictures has made offers to both producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Tony Scott to follow up their action classic, and has a missile lock on Oscar-winning screenwriter Christopher McQuarrie (The Usual Suspects) to update the script, one in which Tom Cruise's Maverick would play a smaller role. Maverick would be confused and slightly depressed by the state of Top Gun these days, anyway. Last June, at a junket for Disney's The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Bruckheimer let slip that he had been "recently approached again to start talking about [a sequel]" but noted that "the aviation community has completely changed since we made the movie a long time ago." Since 1986, the TOPGUN syllabus has been changed so the focus is far less on the spectacular and dramatic air-to-air dogfights that defined Top Gun and far more about teaching U.S. pilots to drop very large bombs on very small ground targets. But we're told by a source close to the project that McQuarrie — who is friendly with Cruise — has found a way to incorporate Maverick, and what's more, we hear that Cruise has agreed to take a smaller role in the film, provided it's not too "obvious" a part, i.e. Lieutenant Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell as grizzled Top Gun flight instructor. McQuarrie is in big demand these days, having impressed Twentieth Century Fox with a hot script for the Wolverine sequel. And to be sure, Paramount would no doubt like to see Top Gun become a franchise, too: The original film grossed $353 million worldwide, or roughly $699 million in today's dollars.

The good news here, I suppose, is that this film would be a sequel rather than an outright remake … the bad news, I guess, is that Hollywood is absolutely incapable of coming up with any new ideas. That being said, Top Gun is truly one of the iconic films of the 1980′s and I would prolly be interested in paying to see a sequel if for the mere nostalgic factor. Top Gun was the film that pretty much cemented Tom Cruise as a HUGE movie star and set the pace for the rest of his career. If done right, I can see how an updated film about US Navy pilots might be a hit … tho, I doubt it will spark the big Navy trend that the first film did in the mid-80′s (ie. I doubt the bomber jacket fad will take off again this time around). I’m not entirely sure how I feel about this news just yet … let’s wait and see if anything more comes of this initial talk. ‘Scream 4’ Releases A New Promo Photo Of The Big 3

Now that everyone is all a-buzz about the big split between estranged married couple Courteney Cox and David Arquette, the folks promoting their upcoming film Scream 4 want to remind you that they will be appearing in a film together next Spring. In the wake of all the couple’s personal drama unfolding in the public eye, the promo team for Scream 4 has released a new image from the film that shows the big 3 original Scream castmembers all together in one photo:

If things are awkward now for David Arquette and Courteney Cox, let’s just hope they settle things come April when they have to promote their flick, Scream 4. The publicity machine actually begins rolling out this weekend when Arquette will join Neve Campbell at the Spike TV’s Scream Awards on Saturday … Separated or not, we’re still looking forward to the return of the ghostface killer. However, Cox will not be making an appearance. Whether or not it has to do with their splitsville status is unknown, but a source says the Cougar Town star never had any plans to attend. Arquette will present footage from the fourth installment of the horror franchise during the awards show with Campbell and new castmember Emma Roberts.

My guess is that things are too hot right now with all the dunzo drama going on for Courteney and David for them to appear at an awards show together as if everything were just fine. I’m certain the couple will be able to make public appearances again together sometime in the future … just not this weekend. The folks at Scream 4 are smart to capitalize on what is going on this week, tho. Everyone’s already talking about Courteney and David, why not remind everyone that they’ve got a movie coming out next year.
