The Kate Middleton Doll Takes London

Posted: 08 Apr 2011 05:30 PM PDT

Last month we got our first look at a Kate Middleton doll created by the Franklin Mint that actually bears a pretty good resemblance to the royal-to-be. Today we learn that another doll has just gone on the market … and has actually taken over London! The Princess Catherine Doll is now available for sale and to promote the doll’s release, it has been seen all over London striking various poses in places that will soon be very important to the real Kate Middleton. Check out the photos below.

We can’t all marry a prince, but it turns out we can keep a princess stashed away in our basement or attic. Just in time for the royal wedding, London toy store Hamley’s is gifting the anglophilic consumer market with the Princess Catherine engagement doll. The doll bears an uncanny resemblance to a brunette Barbie wearing a cinched blue burlap sack, but the hat (aka “fascinator”) adds a whimsical touch. “Fashioned to resemble Catherine ‘Kate’ Middleton,” reads the website description, “right down to the Eaton clutch bag, fascinator and shoes, the Princess Catherine Engagement Doll oozes British style.” “Designers ‘Pussy Willow’ (Of London) have created The Catherine Dress while the Bucklebury Fascinator was exclusively designed by award-winning Katherine Elizabeth Millinery.” The dolls retail for $57. Get your orders in before Prince William buys the lot.

Altho this doll doesn’t look too much like Kate, it is the more affordable of the 2 dolls. This doll, which can be ordered HERE, will cost about $57 (as opposed to almost $200 for the other doll). I kinda love the promo photos … the Kate doll posing in front of Buckinham Palace is my fave photo of the bunch. If I played with dolls, I’d deffo have to get this one to play with. What do y’all think? Is this a toy that YOU think you’d like to play with?

Mario Lopez Hangs With Baby Gia Francesca At The Grove

Posted: 08 Apr 2011 04:30 PM PDT

Back in January we saw a few cute photos of new dad Mario Lopez feeding his baby daughter Gia Francesca in between takes of his talk show on Extra! and today we get to see new photos of Mario and Gia on set together. It appears that Gia makes regular visits to the Extra! set at The Grove to spend time with her daddy … which makes for really cute photo ops.

You may recall that yesterday we got to see ADORABLE photos of new daddy David Burtka with his beautiful baby girl Harper Grace out and about in SoCal and today we get Mario and Gia. I don’t know what it is but the sight of a hot dad with their precious baby is … well, hot. With all these DILFs running around LA, it’s really hard to stay focused on …

‘Skins’ Loses A Creator, Is The Show Doomed?

Posted: 08 Apr 2011 03:30 PM PDT

Skins co-creator Jamie Brittain has announced that he is leaving the show he helped create with Brian Elsey, which has many fans of the British teen drama concerned that the show is in trouble. Skins season 5 wrapped last month and, as I understand it, plans are still in the works for a Skins movie and forthcoming 6th season next year. But with Brittain‘s exit, many are wondering what will happen to the show … or are wondering if the show will be canceled altogether.

Brittain created the controversial E4 show with dad Bryan Elsey in 2007, and has written for it since its inception. But on Friday he announced he was quitting, telling website AfterEllen: ‘I’ve just said everything I wanted to say. It’s time for new writers to come forward and portray their truth about teenagers. ‘I’m really sad to leave, but I’m confident that the writing and production team I’ve left behind will do an awesome job.’ Brittain’s departure leaves the show without any of its original creators, after Elsey left to work on the US remake at the end of series four. And while series six has already been commissioned and will still go ahead, the long-term future of the show looks doubtful. Series five experienced a drop in ratings after receiving a very mixed critical reception, leading many to question whether the show has passed its peak. With the cast due to be changed at the end of the next series, there is a strong chance the sixth series could be the show’s last. A Channel 4 spokesperson refused to be drawn on the long-term future of the series, telling Metro.co.uk: ‘Jamie has decided after five hit series to move on to write new projects and we wish him well. ‘Skins is written by a team of young writers who are hard at work on the new series which is currently in pre-production.’ Brittain himself has emphasised he isn’t ‘abandoning’ the show, writing on his Twitter page: ‘Not abandoning it. It’s just time for me to go.’ The show will now be left in the hands of current assistant producer Toby Welch and script producer Neil Duncan, and Brittain has assured fans series six will be ‘great.’

Whoa! I knew Elsley worked on the US version of Skins but I had no idea he left the UK show entirely to do so! The US version sucks so bad, I’m praying that Elsley goes back to the original series where he is needed. I think I’ve been very clear about how much I love the original UK version of Skins and I know I’d love to see the show live on … but, in all honesty, you know it can’t live forever. My guess is that Skins will end after season 6. This is sad news, for real. I love Skins. Here’s hoping that the upcoming 6th season of Skins is so good, they are FORCED to keep the show going.

Ryan Reynolds: Comic Book Hero

Posted: 08 Apr 2011 02:30 PM PDT

Ryan Reynolds has already played a comic book hero in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and he will play another comic book hero in Green Lantern this Spring but today we learn that Ryan is getting a comic book of his very own. Hot on the heels of the Charlie Sheen comic book comes news that Bluewater Productions is readying the release of Fame: Ryan Reynolds … a comic book devoted to the life and work of Ryan Reynolds.

Catapulted from obscure roles and modest television credits to one of Hollywood's reigning male "A" list stars, Ryan Reynolds is making a star turn in an upcoming Bluewater Productions biography comic book based on his life and career. Scheduled for an May 2011 release, "Fame: Ryan Reynolds" follows the actor from his up and coming days in Canada through his 2002 breakthrough role in "National Lampoon's Van Wilder" to his ascendancy to leading man status in such films as "The Proposal" and the upcoming super hero blockbuster "Green Lantern." "Ryan Reynolds is one of those rare actors who appeals to both men and women. Women love him for his obvious good looks and charm, but his humor and action role turns is what bring in the men. It’s no wonder he’s headlining one of the hottest films of the summer," said writer Mark Poulton. "He's definitely proving himself to be a force at the box office." Poulton, the creator of Koni Waves, teams up with fellow Koni Waves artist Dexter Weeks to showcase People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive for 2010 in a standard 32-page issue. "Mark and Dexter have such a strong partnership going with their own book, that their cohesion gave the Reynolds book a great flow of word and art," said Bluewater president Darren Davis. The issue retails for $3.99. It will be available through local comic book stores and several online venues including Amazon.com and the Barnes and Noble and Borders online stores. It is scheduled to be released two weeks before the U.S. premiere of Reynold's latest movie, "Green Lantern." The "Fame" series was launched earlier in 2010 as a companion piece to the successful "Female Force" and "Political Power" biography titles. The comic allows Bluewater to delve into the celebrity culture and understand how a person rises to fame, deals with the new-found celebrity and continue to produce in the public eye. That includes actors, sports figures, recording artists and royals.

Now, don’t get me wrong … I LOVE the idea of a Ryan Reynolds comic book … but are they seriously kidding us with that coverphoto? It doesn’t even look like Ryan Reynolds. It’s a shame too, because Ryan with his shirt off is quite a sight to see:

Still … I do love all things Ryan Reynolds … so I may have to get a copy of Fame: Ryan Reynolds. If YOU would like a copy, you can order one from Amazon HERE. Are any of y’all planning on adding this book to your comic collections?

Taylor Lautner & Lily Collins Enjoy A Date Night Together

Posted: 08 Apr 2011 01:32 PM PDT

Back in January we got our first look at the first promo photo featuring Taylor Lautner and co-star Lily Collins in their new film Abduction and in February, we saw photos of Taylor and Lily as travel buddies. Since that time, tho, the couple haven’t been seen out and about … until now. This week, Taylor and Lily were spotted on a friendly dinner date in Squamish, Canada. Are these two merely friends or are we witnessing the birth of new lurve?

From the looks of things, Taylor Lautner and up-and-coming actress Lily Collins are getting closer everyday. The Twilight star, 19, and his new lady love Lily, 22, the daughter of superstar singer Phil Collins and second wife, American-born Jill Tavelman, sneaked out for a bite of sushi last night in Squamish, Canada. The cute couple smiled as they left the restaurant wearing matching outfits of jeans, boots and black leather jackets. Taylor, who plays Jacob in Breaking Dawn, the last installment of the vampire series, is in Canada where the movie is currently filming. Insiders [say] Lily has become a fixture around the set over the last few months. ‘They have a very low-key relationship and try to keep it private,’ an insider says of Lautner and Lily. Taylor and his British-American cutie got close several months ago as they filmed the upcoming action movie, Abduction.

HMMM … I’m leaning toward the belief that these two aren’t really romantically involved, particularly because they have a new film to promote. The fact that they are seen together automatically gets people talking about them … and their movie. BUT, the fact that they are wearing matching outfits could be a sign that the couple are more than friends. Whatever the case may be, I’m certain that hearts are breaking all over the place at the notion/sight of Taylor in the close company of Lily. What do y’all think? Are these two a hot new couple or are they just faking it for the attention?

Happy Audrey Day

Posted: 08 Apr 2011 12:58 PM PDT

Yesterday was a fun day for David and me because we got to spend it in the company of THE most beautiful baby girl EVER who was celebrating her 6 month birthday! Our dear friend Genevieve and I made plans for us to hang out last night and she graciously shared Audrey’s 6 month birthday with us. I’m not even kidding you … Audrey is the most beautiful little girl around … and we got to spend the evening playing with her.

I can’t even tell you how cute Audrey is in person … as cute as she looks in photos, they pale in comparison to how adorable she is in person. It’s all David and I can do to keep from running off with this precious little girl … she’s just the cutest! Our evening together was pretty quiet … but it was really fun. It’s hard to believe that Audrey is already 6 months old … it seems like just yesterday the little princess was born. I don’t know how you spent your Thursday night but I bet it wasn’t as cute as mine ;)

This afternoon, David and I are seeing an early screening of Hanna and then we are meeting up with Darion for a special SECRET performance by a musical performer. I am sworn to secrecy … but watch my Twitter, I’ll do my best to share the goods when the secret gets out :)

Happy Friday, Happy WEEKEND!!!

Watch: A Look Back At ‘Glee: Live! In Concert’ 2010

Posted: 08 Apr 2011 11:35 AM PDT

Back in February we learned that Glee: Live! In Concert would be hittin’ the road again this Summer on a 16-city tour across the US and to remind us all how fun the tour was last year, Fox has released a sizzle reel video that collects some special moments from the 2010 tour to get us hyped for the upcoming 2011 tour. Check out the video below.

Ahh … memories. I was lucky enough to attend the first night of the tour here in LA last year and I had a blast. I don’t think I’ll be able to see the show this year but I’m telling you … if you’re a big Glee fan, this is a concert you don’t wanna miss. Calling all Gleeks! This show is for you!

Watch: ‘Smallville’ Releases A Series Finale Promo Video & Poster

Posted: 08 Apr 2011 11:27 AM PDT

The long running TV series Smallville will end it’s 10 season run on May 13, 2011 and to generate attention for the series finale, the show has released a new promo video and promo poster for the finale ep. As you Smallville fans know, Clark Kent has been inching toward his life as superhero Superman and in the series finale, he will finally come to terms to who he really is. Check out the poster and video below.

As it is getting closer to the end of “Smallville”, The CW has released a promo for the final episodes. A short one, the video does not include any footage from the episodes but does hint that Clark will find out his true identity as he is heard saying, “I finally know who I am.” Used in the video is John Williams’ classic score from the original 1978 Superman movie. Also, the promo features the word “believe” which is likely taken from the famous Superman movie tagline, “You will believe a man can fly.” The last episode of “Smallville” will air May 15. Michael Rosenbaum has been tapped to reprise his role as villain Lex Luthor in the two-hour series finale.

Altho I am more of a Batman fan, I have lots of love for Superman and as a casual fan of Smallville, I’m kinda bummed the show is ending. Maybe I took for granted that the show was always there to feed my superhero hunger because I was never a diehard fan of the show. I have always been impressed with the way Smallville handled the Superman story and I am, actually, very much looking forward to the 2-hour finale episode. In all honesty, I never thought Smallville would last as long as it did … going out after 10 seasons is quite an accomplishment. Set those DVRs, y’all … the series finale of Smallville will premiere on The CW on 05.13.11.

‘The Crow’ Reboot Finds A New Director

Posted: 08 Apr 2011 10:59 AM PDT

Back in November of 2009, we learned that plans were in the works for a remake of the brilliant 1994 film The Crow. In February of last year, we heard that The Crow redux would begin filming last Summer … but nothing happened. In October of last year, we heard a new rumor that Marky Mark Wahlberg might be cast as the lead in The Crow but, again … nothing more came from that talk. Today we learn, officially, that a new director has been chosen to make The Crow. Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is scheduled to begin filming the movie this year for a 2012 release. Does this mean that The Crow is really gonna fly again?

Relativity Media has chosen Juan Carlos Fresnadillo to serve behind the lens for “The Crow” reboot. In a press release, Tucker Tooley, executive producer of the film, has made it official that the “28 Weeks Later…” director is chosen to helm the project. “Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is an incredibly talented and imaginative filmmaker,” Tooley said. “We are thrilled to have him at the helm and are excited to work with both Pressman and Apaches on what we all believe will be a compelling and innovative reimagining of ‘The Crow’.” Although the helmer for the upcoming film has been chosen, the characters are yet to be cast. Tooley said, “Fresnadillo will collaboratively develop the script once a writer is attached to adapt the screenplay. Casting has not yet been announced.” The film tells a story about a man who is brutally murdered, but comes back to life as an undead avenger of his and his fiancee’s murder. Written by Nick Cave and Stephen Norrington, the action thriller movie is scheduled to be released in 2012.

I can’t say that I am at all excited that this remake of The Crow is really gonna happen because I find it hard to believe that anyone will be able to do a better job than the late Brandon Lee, who died while making the original 1994 film. That said, I did like Fresnadillo‘s work on 28 Weeks Later so … meh, we’ll see. I was hoping that all the delays and false rumors would end up in a decision to just leave things along and NOT remake the film. But it sounds like it’s really gonna happen so … now we await casting news. Who would YOU ideally like to see cast in the lead role as The Crow?

Bravo TV Cancels ‘The Real Housewives of Washington DC’

Posted: 08 Apr 2011 10:31 AM PDT

Welp, it finally happened. Bravo TV finally realized that not all of their Housewives TV shows are worth doing … because after only one (miserably bad) season of The Real Housewives of Washington DC, the network has decided to cancel the show. I can’t even list all the things wrong with the DC Housewives but I think the worst thing about the show was the cast. But, whatever reasons went into the decision … the end result is the same. The Real Housewives of DC is dunzo!

The day has finally come: Bravo has (gasp!) canceled one of its "Real Housewives" series. The ladies of Washington, D.C. have gotten the boot. It was the branch of the "Housewives" franchise that was supposed to diversify the brand, Andy Cohen, Bravo's executive vice president of original programming, told us back in October: “D.C. is not a place where people are going to town on each other. It has a different personality. We knew that when we went there. This is a smart show … it’s got a great place in our galaxy of ‘Housewives.’ We want people to feel like they’re watching a ‘Housewives’ show, but we want each to be different. This one is just more quiet than the others … and that’s not necessarily a bad thing.” Oh, but it was a bad thing. The "D.C" cancellation marks the first time an iteration in the franchise, which got its start back in 2006, has not continued on for a second season. No reason was given for the cancellation. The series had a respectable first season, averaging about 1.4 million viewers. In an interview with the Washington Post, Cohen would only offer this: "We had an amazing season and we told stories that were unique to any other in the franchise. I wish all our D.C. wives the best and hope to work with them again in another capacity."

The show was canceled because it sucked, plain and simple. The Salahis are among the most vile people ever to be on TV and their fame-mongering and camera hogging of every episode made the show, for me, unwatchable. The fact that the rest of the ladies were kinda boring (in comparison to the other ladies on the other Housewives shows) didn’t help. It was painful to watch that show … I couldn’t even tell you one thing I liked about the show. Next up, Bravo needs to cancel The Real Housewives of Miami. That show is just wretched. There were only 6 episodes of the debut season … and that was enough. Bravo should just focus on the shows that they have that are good … Beverly Hills, NYC, Atlanta … and stop trying to make stars in every single city. News of this cancellation is very welcome, IMHO. If I never have to see see or hear from either of the Salahis, I’ll live a very happy life. What do y’all think? Are you happy the DC Housewives is dunzo? Will any of y’all miss the show?

Good riddance, DC Housewives … and Peace the Spork OUT!

Robert Pattinson Does ‘Elle’ Magazine

Posted: 08 Apr 2011 09:23 AM PDT

Twilight star Robert Pattinson, who will be featured in the non-Twilight film Water for Elephants in a few weeks, is featured in the new issue of Elle magazine. You may recall that the new issue of Elle is devoted to Women in Music but apparently there’s a bit of room in this issue for men in film. Check out Rob‘s hot Elle photo and some excerpts from his interview below.

ELLE: How great a novel is Bel Ami?
ROBERT PATTINSON: Amazing. One of my favorites. The script was really good too; Duroy has kind of changed a little bit.

ELLE: Was it fun playing a ladies' man instead of a celibate?
RP: Completely. I thought it was funny as well—Twilight having quite a bit of a female audience—to play a guy who basically screws women out of money. I like the fact that you never hear of a movie where the bad guy stabs every single person in the back and then wins.

ELLE: So you relished playing a sleazy journalist?
RP: I like the section where he gets a job as a gossip writer and in a completely banal way just makes stuff up—uses the same story and changes the names. I think that still is very, very true.

ELLE: It was once reported that you were pregnant.
RP: Yeah, a couple years ago. That was true, though.

ELLE: Any other odd encounters with the media recently?
RP: A bunch of paparazzi were following me, and I thought the best way to deal with it was to stop my car in the middle of the street and say, "I'm not leaving, and I'm not going to speak to you anymore." They got all pissed off because they can't just keep taking the same picture. We were in Venice by the boardwalk, and they kept trying to get all these drug dealers to come up to the car. I was just like, Oh my God, this is insane.

ELLE: Have you ever fantasized about doing something to destroy the "Twilight image" of you?
RP: You know, when the whole thing dries up and there's hardly any paparazzi around—I don't know, in 15 years or something—I like the idea of just one paparazzo coming out and trying to get a picture, and I just beat the shit out of him. I mean—out of nowhere—when my picture's not even worth…and I've spent all my money, so you can't sue me!

ELLE: Is your idea of hell to end up at age 45 posing with Twilighters at a comic book convention?
RP: I mean, that would be totally fine—if I didn't have any responsibilities, if it didn't affect my career anymore. I did a couple of those after Harry Potter, when I was totally unemployed. You can have so much fun. There are so many weirdos there.

ELLE: What women did you daydream about as a teen?
RP: I was always obsessed with Kate Moss. On my bedroom wall I had a poster of Linda Blair and Kate Moss. I always liked Jane Fonda. Who else? Ellen Burstyn.

ELLE: Are you ever embarrassed these days?
RP: I guess if you're constantly in public, you're not embarrassed about anything. But dancing is my Achilles' heel—I don't even try. It's like, "Come on, dance!" "No, I'm not getting up!" I can freestyle by myself with no one watching. I'm a great dancer then.

ELLE: Director Chris Weitz (The Twilight Saga: New Moon) once described you as "bookish" and a "weirdo…in the best sense."
RP: I guess I used to be weirder. When you're confronted with yourself too much, you start to think, Jesus Christ, you're so fucking boring. And the more you think you're boring, the more you become boring. I talk about myself too much now.

ELLE: What are some descriptions of you that you've had enough of?
RP: I never got the "brooding" thing. I've had about enough of that.

ELLE: What would you like to replace it with?
RP: Brooded. "Rob Pattinson looking brooded." Brooded: It's, like, after you've finished brooding.

HMMM … I think this has to be one of Rob‘s better interviews. The questions are better and Rob‘s answers are deffo better. I think you get a lot of personality from his responses in this interview, moreso than we usually get when he is asked the same, boring questions over and over again. You can read the full online version of Rob‘s interview with Elle magazine HERE. If you want a hard copy of this hot photo, you’re gonna hafta pick up the new issue of Elle magazine. I’m thinking Twihards already have their copies tho … but that’s just a hunch.

Lindsay Lohan Returns To LA With A Seriously Serious Ponytail

Posted: 08 Apr 2011 08:52 AM PDT

Troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan — who escaped LA and made her way to NYC before returning to LA for a hot minute only to go back to NYC again last week — is back in LA this week. Lindsay made her grand arrival at LAX Airport last night and she was rockin’ a serious new hair’do. Apparently, the severe ponytail is back, y’all.

As soon as I saw Lindsay‘s new look I knew immediately that she was paying homage to Barbara Eden‘s character from I Dream of Jeanie. I gotta say … I kinda don’t hate the look. It’s deffo got a cool retro feel about it. To Lindsay‘s credit, she has managed to not only stay out of trouble for the past few weeks … but she’s also managed to stay relatively out of sight. She is, apparently, up for two new film roles. I understand she is being considered for a movie about serial killer Charlie Manson and she is also being considered for a movie about mobster John Gotti. Look, work is work … and if Lindsay can land a job, I think it would be very good for her to be employed again. It remains to be seen if Lindsay‘s legal troubles will interfere with her plans to work again (her grand felony theft trial starts in a few weeks) but she is staying out of trouble right now … and that good news.

Oh yeah, and I don’t hate her hair so … good for you, Linds!

‘Scream 4′ Does ‘Entertainment Weekly’ Magazine

Posted: 08 Apr 2011 08:16 AM PDT

Scream 4 won’t open in theaters until next weekend but the famed Ghostface killer mask is featured prominently on the cover of this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine. While we wait the long 7 days until Scream 4 is unleashed upon the world, we can look to EW magazine to tide us over with as much info about the movie as can be shared before the film officially opens next week. Check out this week’s Scream cover of EW magazine and check out new clips from the film below.

Released in December 1996, Scream was a sleeper hit that grossed just $6 million in its first weekend but went on to rake in $103 million in the U.S. The winking, self-aware thriller, directed by A Nightmare on Elm Street's Wes Craven, followed a group of teens well versed in the rules of horror films — and spoke to a young audience just as savvy about the genre's clichés. It yielded two sequels, which amassed $101 million and $89 million, respectively. In total, the franchise surpassed more than half a billion dollars internationally. On April 15, after eleven long years, it's finally returning to theaters, along with original cast members Courtney Cox, David Arquette, and Neve Campbell. Fans should feel lucky that there's another installment arriving at all, given how easily Scream 4 could have fallen apart. As they reveal in this week's cover story, screenwriter Kevin Williamson and Dimension Films co-chairman Bob Weinstein clashed repeatedly and vociferously over details, resulting in a script that was in flux throughout the shoot. "I always prided myself on coming to the set with a shot list," says Craven. "But quite often we'd literally get pages the night before, sometimes the day of. That part was very stressful." "Everyone was second-guessing everything, because everyone wanted it to be so perfect," Williamson recalls … Of course, Weinstein and Williamson were not the only couple undergoing a crisis in their relationship. During their six weeks together on set in Michigan, Cox and Arquette were weathering a rough patch in their 11-year marriage (the pair eventually announced in October that they had separated). Somehow, they managed to keep their struggles private. "I was absolutely clueless, and I spent a lot of time around them," says Hayden Panettiere, who plays a teen targeted by the Ghostface killer back in the fictional town of Woodsboro (the franchise's original setting). "It never crept into work or made anyone uncomfortable." Adds Craven: "The only thing that was odd was that when he finished his shooting, he didn't go home. Then we started to wonder what was going on."

Without question, Scream is one of my all-time fave film franchises. The first film came out in the prime of my youth and it left an indelible impact on me. Seeing Scream in theaters again will spark much nostalgic love in me, I’m telling you … it’s one of the main draws for me. I am SO excited, I can’t even tell you. Here are a couple of clips from the film that have been screened on late night TV shows:

Sydney may be a grown woman, but she still knows what’s up … and I am really anxious to see her in action again. We get EW delivered to our home so I’ll be watching my mailbox for this issue. I really cannot believe Scream is coming back to theaters. It seems like AGES ago that we learned the film was going into production … and here we are, just a week away from release. Woot!!

Posted: 08 Apr 2011 07:26 AM PDT

Great news, SoCal!! Last night, Prince made a surprise call in to the Lopez Tonight show to tease an upcoming appearance on the show next Wednesday April 13. That’s right, that’s 21 nights of PRINCE CONCERTS here in LA starting next week!!

As you may know, Prince recently performed a multi-night residency in NYC titled Welcome 2 America (and he donated $1.5 million to NYC schools in the process) and now it’s LA’s turn.
