First Look: ‘The Hobbit’ Releases The First Promo Image Of Its Lead Dwarves

Last month we got our first look at the first official promo images from the upcoming film The Hobbit. In those photos, we got to see the classic characters Bilbo Baggins (The Hobbit) and Gandalf the Grey (the Wizard) but there was nary a sign of a single dwarf. Today, we get to check out the just released promo image that features dwarf characters Dori, Nori and Ori … which you can see below.

It is enough to make any JRR Tolkien fan go giddy with delight. The latest teaser picture for the forthcoming adaptation of the Hobbit has been released, showing a trio of hardy warrior dwarves. The exciting image shows the brothers Dori, Nori and Ori, and was posted on the movie’s official Facebook page. The description of the picture said: ‘These three brothers, all sons of the same mother, could not be more different from each other.
‘Dori, the oldest, spends much of his time watching out for Ori, the youngest; making sure he's not caught a chill or got himself killed by Wargs or Goblins. ‘Nobody quite knows what Nori gets up to most of the time, except that it's guaranteed to be dodgy and quite probably, illegal. ‘Dori, Nori and Ori are intensely loyal to each other – and whilst they are perfectly happy fighting amongst themselves,’ New Zealand natives Jed Brophy and Mark Hadlow play Nori and Dori, while Adam Brown, who is best known for appearing in kids show Chucklevision plays Ori. The revelation follows the release of the first stills of The Office star Martin Freeman as the story’s hero Bilbo Baggins. The drip-drop release of pictures is ramping up the anticipation ahead of the release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey at the end of this year.

I’m not crazy about the Yu-Gi-Oh! hair’dos but I am loving this first look at the dwarves. I’m thinkin’ we may get to see the elves next … or mebbe some baddies? It’s been ages since I’ve read The Hobbit but I seem to recall there were a few monster-type bad guys in it. The photos are fun but I’m aching for some video footage. Hopefully we’ll get to see something around Comic-Con time. We shall see.

Beyoncé has unleashed a music video for her new single Best Thing I Never Had and in it, we get to see blushing bride Beyoncé on her wedding day. No, she’s not singing to her new husband, she’s singing to the man who foolishly lost her love. She looks really great in the video, from her bright white and lacy undies to her very pretty wedding dress … but it seems odd to sing an unlove song to an ex lover on her happy wedding day. Check it out below.


Beyoncé makes a beautiful bride, so on that account this video is a win. I just can’t get over the oddity of singing this “F U, too bad so sad” song to an ex (from high school, no less) on your wedding day. Still … Bey does look pretty damn hot in her lingerie soo … it’s a win, yes? What do y’all think?

Daniel Craig Talks To ‘Esquire’ Magazine About His Upcoming Films

A casual, laid-back Daniel Craig is featured on the cover of the new issue of Esquire magazine and in his coverstory interview he not only dishes on his upcoming Summer film Cowboys and Aliens but he also talks about how graphic the US version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo will be and how crazy it was to work with Stephen Spielberg on Tin Tin. Daniel Craig has admitted that he was so shocked seeing violent scenes in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo that it made his jaw drop.
The star – who recently stunned friends by secretly marrying Rachel Weisz – insists movie fans are in for a shock with the violence and adult material in the eagerly-awaited blockbuster. ‘It’s as adult as you can possibly make it,’ Craig warns. The original Swedish adaptation of the best-selling novel featured incredibly graphic scenes, and it seems the Hollywood remake will follow suit. ‘This is adult drama. I grew up, as we fucking all did, watching The Godfather and that, movies that were made for adults. And this is a $100 million R-rated movie. Nobody makes those anymore.’ He also insists that David Fincher, who is directing the movie adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s best selling thriller, is ‘not holding back’. ‘They’ve given him free rein,’ he said. ‘He recently showed me some scenes, and my hand was over my mouth, going, “Are you fucking serious?” It’s not that he simply showed me footage that was horribly graphic – it was stuff that was happening, or had happened. And somehow you don’t see it. There’s more than one way to sense violence. Much more powerful ways than seeing it step-by-step.’ He said he had a very different experience making Steven Spielberg’s animated version of Tintin, where he got to meet some of Hollywood’s biggest names – while wearing a leotard. ‘We shot it in mo-cap, which is like: Fuck me, I’m literally in a leotard with a fucking helmet on, and a camera strapped to it,’ Craig said. ‘It’s Steven Spielberg, so every fucker in the world comes to visit. ‘Fincher comes to visit. Clint fucking Eastwood comes to visit. ‘It was just like, are you kidding me? I’m gonna meet these people dressed like this? Playing a pirate, wearing a leotard and a camera? Really?’

As for his private life, Daniel had nothing to say on the matter at all. You may recall that he secretly got married to Rachel Weisz last month but clearly was in no mood to discuss his private life … at all. I’m very intrigued by his Dragon Tattoo comments. I have ever confidence that David Fincher is going to make an amazing film. I’m SO curious to see it. This interview sounds like a great one, I’m deffo going to have to give it a read in full.

Watch: A Trailer For ‘Final Destination 5′ Has Been Released

The horror movie franchise that just won’t, ahem … die … is back again with another installment. That’s right, folks … the film franchise that shows you all the inventive and horrifying ways you can die “accidentally” is back with another installment. The people demanded it (apparently) so here it comes … Final Destination 5.


In all honesty, I haven’t watched the last 2 Final Destination films but I did enjoy the first 2. Something about the trailer above caught my attention … and something, as you will see, about the trailer below caught my eye:


This installment looks and feels a bit like the first one to me … so hopefully it’ll be as fun (if not as good). Any FD fans in the hiz? Are you excited for #5?

Livin’ La Vida Lorca

Late last month I attended the opening night performance of a new LA production of Blood Wedding by Federico García Lorca which stars one of my very good friends, Joshua Zar. Because we enjoyed the show so much, we have some other friends that we cant to take to the show … which David and I are seeing again tonight :D


We were so proud of Josh’s performance, I’m really looking forward to seeing him again. If any of y’all here in LA want to see a great play performance, get your buns down to the Odyssey Theater and see Blood Wedding.

I can’t believe it’s the weekend again already … plus, it’s the weekend before my birthday next week so … I may find a hole to hide in … an ageless hole ;) Happy Friday, y’all!!

Prince William & Kate Middleton Hang Out With Canadian Cowboys

Yesterday was Prince William and Kate Middleton‘s last full day in Canada and they spent it having what looked like a BLAST in Calgary with a few Canadian cowboys (and cowgirls) to enjoy a bit of rodeo action. The couple were presented with authentic 10 gallon cowboy hats (which, at first, they were hesitant to wear) and away they went to enjoy the day’s festivities. Ride ‘em, William! Speaking in Calgary Thursday, Prince William thanked Prime Minister of Canada Stephen Harper for the hospitality extended to him and Kate, and said, in French, “Merci beaucoup: bon soir a tous.” Their Royal Highnesses have been staying at Skoki Lodge, near Lake Louise in the Rockies, in the Banff National Park. The royal couple also got in the Western spirit of Calgary by donning white cowboy hats, a tradition there. (Although at first it was said they declined the headgear, only to be informed that would be a snub.) “I was proud to see them wearing their hats. William said ‘when in Rome, do as the Romans do,’ and I thought that was very sweet,” local Margaret Southern, 80, said. “They didn’t have to wear the hats, but they did. Kate said to me, ‘doesn’t William look handsome?’ He did!” In his address, William even noted “the excitement of Calgary – and what about these fantastic white hats.” Completing her look, Kate paired an ALICE by Temperley London Armonia Blouse with her own jeans. “It’s so nice to be in jeans,” William was heard remarking to her, who wore denim with a plaid shirt. Continuing his speech, William, who on Friday will land in California with Kate, said, “A week ago in Ottawa I spoke of how much Catherine and I looked forward to getting to know Canada and Canadians. I can only say that the experience of this past seven days has exceeded all our expectations.” Summing up their trip, William, said, “The Canadian family is another of the abiding memories that will stay with Catherine and me. Canada is not just a great Union of Provinces and Territories, it is a great union of peoples from many different backgrounds who have come together to make this a model – and a magnet – for those who value freedom, enterprise, tolerance and compassion.” And with a bow to royal tradition, he said: “In 1939, my great grandmother, Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, said of her first Tour of Canada with her husband, King George VI: ‘Canada made us.’ Catherine and I now know very well what she meant.” He concluded, “Canada has far surpassed all that we were promised. Our promise to Canada is that we shall return.”

Aww … altho I understand why the royal couple may have first scoffed at wearing the cowboy hats, I’m glad they decided to do so. They look great and I’m sure the Calgarians were really pleased to see the royal couple honoring their tradition. Besides, I’ve seen both Kate and Wills wear a few WAY fugly hats before … and they look great in these 10 galloners. And so … Will and Kate‘s tour of Canada has come to an end. They will arrive in LA this afternoon to begin the US portion of their visit. It’s gonna be so cool to have them in town. In their honor, I think I shall toast their arrival with a bit of tea and crumpets … or, at the very least, a pint of beer :) Welcome to the US, Willie and Katiekins!!

Jennifer Aniston was honored in Hollywood in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theater yesterday at a hand/foot print ceremony celebrating the release of her new movie Horrible Bosses. Jen is now among the Hollywood elite asked to leave their signature and hand/foot prints in the cement in front of Grauman’s and she chose to share the special even with a very special person … her new loverman Justin Theroux. He may have hidden in the car for her Horrible bosses premiere last week, but Jennifer Aniston’s new boyfriend Justin Theroux was front row and centre for his new leading lady [last night]. The 39-year-old was spotted just metres away from the 42-year-old actress at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, beaming and applauding his girlfriend at her Hand and Footprint ceremony in the forecourt of the Hollywood landmark. And in a clear sign that he is serious about his lady love, Justin even shaved off the bristly beard he has been sporting for the last few weeks for the official occasion. A one point the actor and screenwriter burst into fits of laughter on the sidelines, while Jennifer tried to keep a straight face in front of the crowd. The actress couldn’t wipe the smile off her face as she placed her perfectly manicured hands and well-heeled feet in the cement, which she also signed and dated. She even blew a kiss to her beau in the crowd. ‘She was beaming,’ an insider told People magazine. ‘She couldn’t have looked happier.’ Jennifer moved away from her favourite safe black attire for her special day, opting for a very girly Prada floral number, a carefree choice for the actress, who is said to have fallen head over heels for her new man … Following the ceremony, [Jen's] group headed to the nearby Hollywood Roosevelt hotel for a celebration.

First off, congrats to Jen on this honor … it’s quite an accomplishment to leave one’s hand/foot prints in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theater. It’s a much more exclusive group of Hollywood celebrities than, say, the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Secondly, this seems to be Justifer‘s coming out party. You may recall that they posed in a series of cute photos for Terry Richardson a couple of weeks ago, then Justin accompanied Jen at her taping of Inside the Actor’s Studio (where he sat in the front row, beaming). I’d say this appearance at the ceremony yesterday is the closest thing we’ll get to a confirmation of their relationship. He even shaved his beard off for her! That’s love, y’all. Again, congrats to Jen on this honor … and the hot new man.

Victoria Beckham Shares A Photo Of David Beckham Surfing

Earlier today we saw a beautiful photo of the very pregs Victoria Beckham shared by David Beckham on his official Facebook profile. Now we get to see a fun photo of Becks shared by Vicki B. on her official Twitter profile. Apparently, Becks got a little surfing lesson from his eldest son Brooklyn Joseph and he snapped the photo below of his dad catching some waves. It’s a hot photo, click below to check it out.

While I think this photo would look much better without that wet suit shirt, it’s still a very cool photo. I love that it was Brooklyn that had to take Becks out for a surf. Watch: Space Shuttle Atlantis Flies Into Space For The Last Time

At approximately 11:26 AM ET / 8:26 AM PT, NASA will launch the last space shuttle into space for the last space mission … ever? The Space Shuttle Atlantis is, for the foreseeable future, the last manned shuttle to be launched into space and you can watch take-off happen LIVE below. While I don’t believe that today’s launch will be NASA‘s final mission forever, it is very possible that it will be the last mission for many, many years. Some of you may know that the Space Shuttle Endeavor was supposed to be NASA‘s final manned space mission but this Atlantis mission was approved back in October. Atlantis will make a visit to the International Space Station to drop off some supplies and, you know, just hang out. The 4-person crew of astronauts will be in space for 12 days before they return to Earth … and NASA‘s manned space program will come to an end. Today’s launch is one that you prolly don’t want to miss so … enjoy!

David Beckham Shares A Beautiful Photo Of The Very Pregs Victoria Beckham

Proud hubby and daddy David Beckham posted a photo of his very pregs wife Victoria Beckham showing off her beautiful baby bump just DAYS (hours? minutes?) before she is due to give birth. As you may recall, many folks were expecting the birth of the newest Beckham baby last weekend but that rumor turned out to be untrue. A rep for Les Beckhams revealed that she is due sometime in the coming days … and I’m thinking if Becks is sharing a photo like this (on his official Facebook profile, no less), then the birth of their child must be immient. This is a great photo! I’ve been hearing that some people are under the impression that Vicki B. hired a surrogate to carry her baby for her … clearly, that is not the case. VB tends to stay out of the public eye as much as possible when she’s pregs, which is why some people think she doesn’t carry her own children. I love seeing VB pregnantly plump … I think it’s a good look for her ;) I’m really hoping Baby Beckham #4 makes her arrival on July 12 … I think that is a GREAT day to be born :)
