Halloween: The one day a year you get to dress up as anything you want (slutty Betty White, here we come!). And if you’re a Hollywood star, you’ve got access to all the costumery and makeup in the world. Still, with all those choices, what do some celebs choose to trick-or-treat as? Other celebs, of course! And the ouroboros of Hollywood has never looked so spooky. From Hilary Duff as g>Angelina Jolie to Perez Hilton as Lady Gaga, we’ve got a gallery of  our favorite celebrities dressed up as other celebrities.

  • Hilary Duff and her beau went as Brangelina. Looks like you're missing a couple kids there, guys.
  • Perez Hilton as Lady Gaga? Frightful!
  • We're a little creeped out by this photo of Elle Fanning dressed as sexpot Marilyn Monroe.
  • Cisco Adler channeled Axl Rose. And couldn't be bothered to shave his mustache.
  • We think Audrina Patridge looks awesome as Madonna.
  • Soap star David Lago went all Elvis on us.
  • Matt Lauer did his best Johnny Depp on 'The Today Show.'

Stacie from 'Real Housewives DC' Dishes On The Salahis and Her Adoption

Posted: 06 Oct 2010 10:49 AM PDT

This week on the finale of The Real Housewives of DC, we will finally get to see the so-called White House Party Crashers crash said presidential residence. But Michaele and Tareq Salahi, the somewhat delusional couple who allegedly snuck into Obama’s dinner don’t like their new nickname. They’re threatening to sue their fellow castmates for calling them crashers.

But castmember Stacie Scott Turner tells Crushable wishes them luck with that. Because she's not going to stop calling them crashers anytime soon. Also, she gave us some insight into how the Salahis get so much free stuff.

According to Stacie, the Salahis’ attempt to regulate her speech aren't going to work:

"I just think that so many people around the world have used that term, that to single us out and threaten to sue us, that's ridiculous."

Stacie had never met the couple before they started filming their reality TV show, and through the show she’s learned a lot about them. For starters, they don't appear to have close friends:

“They part y hop – they want to be at the most exciting interesting event at every moment. You start to wonder, is it authentic?”

But that’s also the key to their extravagant lifestyle. The Salahis also use their large circle of loose connections to get them free stuff. Says Stacie:

"I get the feeling that they're in lots of social circles to build connections and they use those connections in order to get things paid for."

As for her own personal life, Stacie's search for her birth father is ongoing. But she tells Crushable that she's not looking to out her birth mother, despite all the attention Bravo put towards her adoption search this season.

"If anything, I've taken every precaution to make sure she's never found. The thing that’s interesting is that so many viewers can relate to the story. I’ve gotten so many letters from adoptees. It's been really fun and touching to see how many people out there have similar."

Halloween is our favorite holiday of the year…when else can you dress up as a slutty Betty White (h/t Liana, who wants you to know not to take her idea!)? And we can’t just sit on our hands, waiting for October 31st to roll around: We want to celebrate the season now.

But you don’t want to walk around, looking like a Hot Topic reject when the night of ghosts and vampires is still weeks away, do you? That’s why we’ve put together this handy guide to making sure you look coolish, not ghoulish.

1. Orange and black are the colors of the season, but don’t turn into a jack-o’-lantern:

Remember: You want to project a look that’s in the holiday spirit, but doesn’t scream “I’m wearing a costume!” Orange and black are the colors of Halloween, but are rarely worn on the actual occasion (unless you’re dressing as a pumpkin). Use the orange/black combo to your advantage and pull out that two-tone dress that you can’t wear the rest of the year. Or take that orange-y dress and add black leggings and boots. Voila! Halloween without the scary!

2. Heels make the gal (or ghost)

If you want to be a little more subtle, why not just two-tone your shoes? We’re a fan of both heels and flats to show off your Hallow-flare: like these Miumiu sleek pumps, or these Nike kicks.

3.  Makeup makes the woman

Not looking to spread your festive feelings all over your bod? Why not confine it to your face area with some subtle makeup? We’re into a light orange sparkle over your eyelids, and if you’re really bold, putting some dark red or black gloss as a sheen over your lipstick.

We’ve already seen how Paris’ Fashion Week looks like a Halloween runway show: all black capes and goth-like. But apparently it’s also a kiddie parade, at least for Antonio Maras‘ show for Kenzo. How many hats are too many hats? One hat, two hat, three hat, four!

Video: Tim Gunn Talks Teenage Suicide Attempt

Posted: 06 Oct 2010 09:53 AM PDT

The important message of the day comes from Tim Gunn who discusses how, as a gay 17-year-old, he was so filled with despair he tried to take his own life. Tim swallowed more than 100 pills in the (thankfully unsuccessful) attempt. The failed suicide let to an intervention that eventually allowed Tim to accept his sexuality.

Tim’s video is part of the It Gets Better Project, a video series by journalist and sex advice columnist Dan Savage. Dan and his husband Terry created the first video of encouragement for LGBT youth in response to the suicide of 15-year-old Billy Marcus last month. Celebs like Anne Hathaway, Ke$ha, Ian Somerhalder and Kat Graham have all participated in the project, which also allows users to upload their own videos.

Today’s message: It gets better, guys!

RIP: Dan Gordon-Levitt, Fire-Spinning Bro of Joseph

Posted: 06 Oct 2010 09:45 AM PDT

Really sad news today: Dan Gordon-Levitt, whose appearance on the celebrity scene earlier this summer spurned an entire wave of “hot celebrity siblings” trend, has passed away. His brother, Incepetion actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt, wrote on his Twitter:
My super hero brother @burningdan 1974-2010. Celebrate his life here ~ http://bit.ly/dBTMQ8 because he’s fucking awesome.

While we don’t know the cause yet of Dan’s death (he was only 36, and a note on his Facebook page said he passed “peacefully and unexpectedly in his sleep,” our thoughts are with Joseph and the rest of his family. Dan was an awesome hippy of whom we knew too little about. RIP, fire-player.

Man wants to pay Weezer $10 million to break up – Some dude is really mad at Rivers Cuomo. James Burns started an online fundraiser to try and persuade the band to call it quits. So far? He's raised 12 bucks. (PopEater)
