Madonna Uploads Her ’89 MTV VMA Performance Of ‘Express Yourself’ To Her Official You Tube Account

Posted: 13 Feb 2011 03:00 PM PST

Completely without announcement or comment, Madonna uploaded video from the 1989 MTV Video Music Awards where she performed her iconic song Express Yourself. For some strange reason that I can’t quite understand, Maddy seems intent on reminding us of how amazing her song Express Yourself is. In case you’ve never seen it or just want to watch again, you can check out the video below.

Without question, this performance reminds us that Madonna is the Queen of Pop and all copy cat wannabes should think twice before they try to co-opt her music for their own purposes:

Now, I’m not entirely sure but … it does occur to me that maybe Madonna uploaded this clip in response to some of the criticism that Lady Gaga has been taking from pretty much everyone with ears that believe that her new single Born this Way sounds exactly like Madonna‘s Express Yourself:

Additionally, I understand that Madonna is thinking of re-releasing her song Express Yourself as a single once again. HMMMM … what do y’all think? Could Madonna be making a statement with the release of this performance of Express Yourself?

Britney Spears Releases A Tenth Teaser For Her ‘Hold It Against Me’ Music Video

Posted: 13 Feb 2011 01:20 PM PST

With only 4 days to go until the world premiere of Britney Spears‘s new music video for her single Hold It Against Me, we are quickly running out of teaser clips to nibble on each passing day. Britney has just released the tenth teaser clip, which you can check out below.

Yesterday I commented that the ninth clip released yesterday was the most uninteresting of the bunch … today, I stand corrected. This tenth clip is now the most uninteresting clip of the bunch:

Yep. That’s all we get. But, there is a bit of new info to pass along about the music video. Hold It Against Me will not only debut on MTV at 9:56 PM ET this coming Thursday February 17 but it will simultaneously be released online as well. We are almost there, y’all. Almost there. But I gotta know … what do y’all think of today’s clip?

Big Pimpin’ With JZ

Yesterday was our good friend Josh’s birthday so David and I were happy to attend the fabulous dinner birthday party that his fiancee Emma hosted at Cube last night. Em secured a private room for us to celebrate in for the evening and a fantastic time was had by all.

It turns out that Emma is really good friends with actress Amy Acker — one of my fave Buffyverse actors EVER — so I finally got to meet her last night. She is absolutely as sweet and darling as you would guess. But, the man of the hour was our boy Josh and I’m pretty sure he had a great time celebrating with all of his friends:

We had a blast.

Tonight, David and I will be hanging out with Josh and Emma again for a double date showing of the classic 80s film Sixteen Candles ;) Not a bad way to spend a Sunday night, is it?

The 2011 Recording Academy And Clive Davis Annual Pre-Grammy Gala

Posted: 13 Feb 2011 12:07 PM PST

Music mogul Clive Davis hosted his annual Pre-Grammy Gala at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Beverly Hills, CA and — as usual — managed to attract a who’s who of celebs both in the audience and on stage as musical performers. This year’s event was thrown in honor of David Geffen and among the performers who took the stage was Cher, Janelle Monae, Jennifer Hudson, Whitney Houston and more!

Clive Davis’ annual pre-Grammy gala was an evening that included a saucy and touching tribute from Cher, sizzling performances from the likes of Mumford & Sons, Cee Lo Green and Jennifer Hudson, and the typical array of dazzling superstars in attendance. But the moments sure to generate the most buzz came from Whitney Houston and R. Kelly: both gave performances that bordered on bizarre, with two entirely different results. Kelly owned the evening with an electrifying set that had stars from Akon to “Glee” star Jane Lynch on their feet, as he sang his retro hit “When A Woman Loves” and also dabbled through his rich catalogue of hits that includes songs ranging from “Step In The Name of Love” to “Your Body’s Calling.” His started his mini-concert off with the odd choice of the national anthem, though soulfully rendered, then in another puzzling moment, teased a bit of the “Price Is Right” theme. But Kelly had the A-list crowd riveted as he ran through his own classics; by the time he ended his set with his soaring “When a Woman Loves,” he was receiving a standing ovation … Davis’ pre-Grammy gala has long been one of Grammy week’s most exclusive invites, and the crowd this year once again included superstars and legends from all fields: Warren Beatty, Miley Cyrus, Diddy, Katy Perry, Usher, Neil Young, John Mayer, Serena Williams, Sara Silverman were just a few of the boldfaced names in attendance. They were treated to rousing performances from Grammy nominees Janelle Monae and Mumford and Sons, as well as Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Hudson and “Glee’s” Matthew Morrison. Green performed the uncensored version of his Grammy-nominated hit “(Expletive) You,” as the crowd loudly sang along to the chorus. The Recording Academy-event was also dedicated to David Geffen, who was given the academy’s President’s Merit award. The co-founder of Dreamworks is also a legendary and influential music figure and played a pivotal role in the careers of acts ranging from Joni Mitchell to Nirvana. Longtime friend Cher, dressed in a sequined mini-dress, paid tribute to Geffen in a touching yet irreverent speech: “When David asked me to do this I just wanted to kill myself, but you can’t say no to him,” she joked. After lauding him for qualities ranging from his warm heart to his business acumen, she said: “I actually have no idea what this (expletive) award is, but whatever it is, I’m sure he deserves it.”

Whitney Houston, the evening’s last performer, also got a reverential response from the audience as she came on stage, looking dazzling in a silver-sequinned dress. But her once majestic voice, though at times showing flashes of her former brilliance, sounded weary and hoarse as she creaked through a tribute to her famous singing cousin, Dionne Warwick. “I didn’t have to look for the ‘American Idol,’ because she was in my home,” said Houston of the classic performer. During a couple of moments, like her brief performance of “Alfie,” she seemed to veer from the rehearsed plan, and meandered on the stage. As a finale, she brought her legendary relative onstage as they both sang Warwick’s “That’s What Friends Are For.” Afterward, Houston seemed like she wanted to get back on the mic, but Davis, who discovered Houston, grabbed her and joked: “I found you when you were 19; I’m still your boss!” He then bid the audience goodnight, ending that possibility.

HMMM … I don’t know if I should laugh at this bit about Whitney‘s performance last night … or just shake my head. BUT, it sounds like it was a fabulous tribute with a lot of fantastic and, er, memorable performances. Don’t forget, the Grammy Awards are tonight. Do you think you’ll be tuning int to watch live?

Zachary Quinto Needs To Learn How To Wear Make-Up

Posted: 13 Feb 2011 11:37 AM PST

Zachary Quinto, bless his heart, made his way to Berlin, Germany to attend the Berlin Film Festival this week and the poor dear got caught with egg on his face. Well, actually, he got caught with too much make-up on his face. You’d think that man of his age would at least know how to properly apply make-up, wouldn’t you?

It’s not normally a problem men have to face. But Zachary Quinto was left suffering from a make-up malfunction as he attended a star-studded premiere at the Berlin Film Festival last night. The Star Trek star had white blotches under his eyes and orange and white marks on his forehead, highlighted by the flashes of the cameras. Quinto appeared to have suffered from an overdose of light-reflecting HD powder, used by make-up artists to make actors appear flawless in the bright gaze of the flashbulbs. While in some photos his malfunction was barely noticeable, in others it was hard to miss. The otherwise perfectly turned out actor was caught out as he arrived for the premiere of Margin Call, along with co-stars Kevin Spacey and Paul Bettany.

Yeah, unless he was paying homage to 80′s alt rocker Adam Ant

… I think it’s safe to say that Zac goofed. Meh … it could happen to anyone. Next time, Zac, just carry a compact and make sure to check your face regularly ;)

Taylor Lautner & Lily Collins Are Travel Buddy BFFs

Posted: 13 Feb 2011 10:52 AM PST

Last month we got to see a new promo photo of actor Taylor Lautner in a new film titled Abduction (his first since appearing in The Twilight Saga film franchise) and we learned that he is paired with actress Lily Collins as his newest co-star. Today we get to see candid photos of Taylor and Lily as they made their way thru LAX Airport this weekend. Now, just because two young people are traveling together there is no reason to jump to conclusions … but, let’s just jump to one conclusion and guess that the pair may be coupling up, shall we?

Let’s be clear, there is no surer way to generate hype for a new film than for rumors of a new romance between co-stars … but don’t these two look cute together? Now that Taylor is a strapping young man of 19, I think it’s time for him to find a nice young girl to date. Lily seems like a sweet enough girl. We’ll have to see if anything significant develops from any of this but … I wouldn’t mind if these two made it official … would you?

Victoria Beckham Takes Her Baby Bump To NY Fashion Week

Posted: 13 Feb 2011 09:34 AM PST

Last week we saw that Victoria Beckham and her baby bump made their way to NYC (not to mention her freakin’ hot iPhone wallpaper photo of her half-nekkid hubby David Beckham) and today we get to see new photos of Vicki B. and bump making their way to the NY Fashion Week festivities. As you can see, VB was in no mood to show off any signs of her burgeoning bump … but we’re fairly certain it’s hiding underneath her loose-fitting outfit.

Despite her shyness in these photos, VB seems very excited to be showing another collection of clothing at Fashion Week again. She’s been posting a few tweets about her new collection on her official Twitter profile … in addition to this interesting self-portrait drawing:

Yeah, I have no idea either. VB showed her collection earlier this morning so she’s got another Fashion Week under her belt. It’s unclear how long she will remain in NYC before flying back to London to be with her family … OR before flying back home to LA. I’m hoping that sometime soon we’ll actually get to see a bump during her bump watch … that would be nice ;)

Charlie Sheen’s Porn Pal Kacey Jordan Is Pregnant!

Posted: 13 Feb 2011 08:56 AM PST

Late last month we learned some of the shocking details of the events that supposedly went down during Charlie Sheen‘s now infamous 36-hour drug fueled porno party from a party attendee/porn star named Kacey Jordan. As you may recall, the young woman described in colorful detail all of the crazy hijinks that she got into with Charlie on that fateful night in THIS video interview. Today we learn from Kacey herself that she has recently become pregnant … and she’s pretty sure it’s not Charlie‘s. She thinks.

Charlie Sheen got one of those text messages from his porn star friend Kacey Jordan … saying she’s pregnant — luckily for Charlie the message also said she doesn’t think it’s his. TMZ obtained the text message Kacey sent Charlie yesterday afternoon (see above). After dropping the bomb — which must’ve floored Charlie — Kacey continued, “I don’t believe it’s yours, but I’m going to Oregon to take care of the situation.” As for why Kacey thinks Charlie is in the clear … he used protection, but Kacey says both of them were so out of it she’s not sure if it did the trick. According to our sources, Kacey plans to terminate the pregnancy in the next few days. We’re told Kacey never heard back from Charlie.

Yeah … this is EXACTLY the kind of thing that truly puts an endcap on the events of that fateful night that resulted first in a hospital visit, then an attempt at stay-at-home rehab. As if the mess that is Charlie Sheen‘s personal life couldn’t get any messier … there’s this. I can’t … this is just so … ugh.
