Yesterday People magazine named actor Ryan Reynolds as the Sexiest Man Alive … today, we get to check out what the sexiest man used to look like in high school. Just one day after Ryan was revealed on the cover of People magazine, his yearbook senior photo page made its way to the Internets:
LMAO!! In all honesty, I think many of us would be very embarrassed to read the senior quotes we came up with for our high school yearbooks but Ryan‘s here is particularly hilarious. 4 BOYZ with the juice? LOL!! So … you wanna see what Ryan Reynolds looked like in high school? Check out his photo, after the jump …
Ladies and gentlemen … the Sexiest Man Alive. Enjoy!!
For the most part, it looks like this special will be made up of taped concert performances interspersed with behind the scenes video of Beyoncé on her I Am … World Tour. Now, I saw her show live and I was BLOWN away so, yeah, I am looking forward to watching this special next week. After the jump, check out a preview video of the Beyoncé Thanksgiving Special to get a taste of what’s in store for Thanksgiving night next week …
The concert footage looks good but, no lie, I am just as interested in watching the behind-the-scenes and confessional video as well. Set those DVRs, y’all … the Beyoncé Thanksgiving Special will air on ABC next Thursday November 25 at 9:30 PM ET/PT.
Despite the fact that it isn’t even Thanksgiving yet Hollywood is already getting itself ready for the 2011 Academy Awards. Walt Disney Studios chairman Rich Ross has announced that his company will be lobbying hard for their animated film Toy Story 3 to get first a nomination and then, hopefully, a win for the Best PictureAcademy Award. Here is our first look at one of the trade magazine ad photos which attempts to inspire Academy Award members to nominate the film for Best Picture and Best Animated Feature:
“We're going for the Best Picture win. We wanted to have the best movie and the reviews have clearly said that and it's the number one box office hit of the year so I'm not sure why we would not go for it all,” the Walt Disney Studios Chairman Rich Ross told me in a phone conversation this week. He's talking about their worldwide billion dollar grosser Toy Story 3 which also sits atop Rotten Tomatoes chart of the best reviewed films of the year, at least those in wide release. To that end Disney/Pixar will launch an ambitious advertising campaign aimed squarely at Academy members this week that will blatantly try to associate past Best Picture winners with TS3 by having Toy Story characters enact some iconic images from Oscar winning films like West Side Story, On The Waterfront, Shakespeare In Love, Silence Of The Lambs, Titanic, The Lord Of The Rings: The Return Of The King and Forrest Gump … There are potentially more than 20 different ads they will create, but some, like Lambs, which features a disembodied Mr. Potato Head, still are being cleared by various parties. The campaign which uses the phrase ‘Not Since’ will launch with The Godfather Part II in which Lotso, the mob boss-like bear emulates Al Pacino … Of course TS3 is a presumed front runner for Best Animated Feature but a Best Pic win is a longer shot. Disney has had the only two nominees ever, 1991's Beauty And The Beast before the separate ani category was established in 2001 and last year with Pixar's Up, the first time there were ten nominees instead of five since 1943. Neither won and Disney is the only major never to have won the Best Picture Oscar, period … “The theory is pretty simple for us,” says Ross. “It’s thrilling that there is a separate category for animation and that allows animated movies to be recognized but for some reason an animated film has never gotten Best Picture and I always wondered was there not an appetite? We decided this year we have the biggest and best reviewed film of the year. If not this year, and not this movie, when?” … With this movie we wanted to come up with a campaign that kept our aspirations clear but at the same time used a tongue in cheek approach,” he says. “It’s all to recognize the quandary which is that no animated picture had won Best Picture, so we used only Best Picture images to reflect that. I feel very confident we have a movie everybody loves and I want to make sure with our support and our campaign that people don't feel the consolation prize is the appropriate prize for a movie like Toy Story 3. I think people will look at the ads and feel it’s very Pixar and very Disney. At the same time it's very clear. Toy Story 3 is a Best Picture. Vote for it. Please."
I absolutely agree, if Toy Story 3 doesn’t at least get the Best Picture nomination (and hopefully the win) then what will it take for an animated film to win? TS3 is, hands down, one of the best films of the year. In my mind, only The Social Network is worthy enough to possibly beat it as the Best Picture. I think the difficulty for Toy Story 3 is that it came out so many months ago … people may have already forgotten what a fantastic film it is. After the jump, check out one more promo photo for Disney‘s new Best Picture campaign for Toy Story 3 …
I love both of these ads and I think it is very smart for Disney to associate their film with iconic Best Picture winning films of the past. It remains to be seen if this promo campaign will be fruitful but I hope it is. Toy Story 3 is such a fantastic film … IMHO, it is absolutely worthy to be named the Best Picture of the year. What do YOU think?
Most of the guests jammed into the legendary hotel’s courtyard, where they stood and mingled under the stars and lighted trees. The exception was Kid Rock, who sat at a reserved glass table inside, his furry vest thrown across the back of the couch and a cigar in his hand. Eventually Rock, in jeans, a black shirt and black hat, made his way to the courtyard entrance, where he chatted with Kimmel and other guests. Waiters carefully maneuvered through the crowd, balancing trays of sesame chicken tenders, bacon wrapped shrimp, teeny grilled cheese sandwiches, sliders from Umami Burger, veggie spring rolls and grilled flatbread with prosciutto, figs and arugula. But the biggest hit was the mini-cupcakes by Susie’s Cakes. Grey Goose cocktails flowed while DJ Mr. Best did his thing … All of the honorees looked spiffy, but some admitted they don’t put too much emphasis on fashion. Donovan, the soccer star, wore a Costume National suit. “I don’t ever do these things so when I walked in to get fitted, I said, ‘This is the one.’ I put it on right away. It felt good and looked good.” Kimmel, in a John Varvatos suit, confessed, “I’m the opposite of stylish. If I could go to work in my underpants then I would.” The exception was Drake (in Prada), who actually seemed touched to be called one of GQ’s Men of the Year. “Being a part of rap music, being 24 years old and wanting to participate in a gentleman-like lifestyle — I strive to be a gentleman — it’s an honor. It’s probably the greatest accolade I’ve ever received.” Ruffalo did a nice spin on the black carpet to show off his Neil Barrett suit for a television camera. “I’m married to an ex-model (Sunrise Coigney),” he said in explaining his turning skills. “She’s like, ‘Do it again. Turn that shit around. Let’s see.’”
Any event that culls together so many hot men (except for David Arquette, that is) is bound to be a good time. I’m happy to see that my boy Milo Ventimiglia graced the event last night with his hottie presence. There aren’t many events that celebrate men in Hollywood in quite this way so it’s always a treat to see men being honored for being gentlemen. It’s always a good time when you’ve got hot men all dolled up in spiffy suits. Well done, GQ.
The Royal Engagement of Prince William and Kate Middleton is the latest pop culture moment to be immortalized in animated for by the Taiwanese company Next Media. Here are a few screencaps of the animated version of the couple’s engagement news:
Britain's Prince William broke hearts around the world on Tuesday when he announced his engagement to Kate Middleton. Middleton is the first commoner to marry in to the Royal family in over 300 years. The wedding is set to take place sometime in 2011.
In the fine fashion that we’ve come to expect from Next Media Animation, the entire courtship of Wills and Kate is captured in this new video. From the moment the couple met in college right up to the romantic proposal in Kenya, this new video really tells the take of the couple’s fabled love affair … in fine, cheeky fashion. Check out the video in full, after the jump …
LOL!! These videos are all very comical, very entertaining. I especially love the shot of the commemorative toilet seat covers that may be sold in honor of the royal engagement of Prince William and Kate. The scene of Queen Elizabeth, II dancing at the upcoming wedding is also very cute. I could’ve done without the scene of Prince Harry wearing the Nazi armband (an obvious reference to Harry‘s idiotic decision to wear a Nazi costume to a private party a few years ago) but overall, I really like the clip. What do y’all think … cute, right?
In an effort to get out and enjoy the cool SoCal night last night, David and I ventured out for a little shopping trip at The Grove. For the most part we did a lot of window shopping but did enjoy a casual stroll around the outdoor shopping area. We stopped in at the Whisper Lounge for a couple of drinks and a bit of convo:
All in all it was a pretty nice and quiet night. My plans for tonight got changed up a bit. I was supposed to go to a screening of Tron: Legacy but it has been moved to Saturday night instead. I think David and I are going to try and meet up with our friend Jordan who we haven’t seen in an ice age … tho, it’s possible that we will enjoy another easy, breezy night of a whole lotta nothing.
We’re just one day away from the weekend … I hope you’re having a great day!!
One of New York's "Real Housewives," Sonja Tremont-Morgan, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Wednesday in Manhattan. Morgan, who joined the cast of Bravo's "Real Housewives of New York City" in its third season, listed $19.8 million in debt and $13.5 million in assets on her bankruptcy petition. "The decision to seek bankruptcy relief was not an easy one, but unfortunately, I am at a crossroads in my life," Morgan said in court papers. She blamed her financial woes on a failed venture with Hannibal Pictures Inc. to make a movie starring John Travolta. That film was to be called "Fast Flash to Bang Time," court papers said. Morgan said the movie never got off the ground because of "various conditions" that Travolta demanded and her production company, Sonja Productions, could not meet. Hannibal Pictures filed a lawsuit against Sonja Productions in California and won a $7 million judgment. Morgan said she wasn't adequately represented at the trial and has filed an appeal. Morgan also pointed to her "bitter" and unresolved divorce from her husband, a man she described as "many years my senior and a descendant of J.P. Morgan and John Adams." While she works to resolve these disputes and formulate a plan of reorganization, Morgan said she hopes to take preserve the value of her assets and continue her career as a television personality. She said her appearances on "Real Housewives" position her to pursue potentially lucrative endeavors, like writing a cookbook an developing a clothing line. On her website, Morgan says she'd be Andy Warhol's muse today (if the artist were alive) and proclaims that her friends — royalty, fashion designers, celebrities, philanthropists, socialites and powerful bankers — "follow her to whatever venture she attaches herself and which city she finds herself" … Reached Wednesday, Morgan's attorney and a Bravo representative declined comment.
While this news is sad, especially considering Sonja is a single mother, I am most disappointed by her DUI arrest last Summer. To be honest, Sonja is prolly my fave castmember on The Real Housewives of NYC but it’s getting really annoying that many of these “fabulously wealthy” people sign up for reality TV and then spend themselves broke right before our eyes. I honestly hope Sonja gets her affairs in order … as I said, I like her on the show. Mebbe she needs to do a little less spending a LOT less drunk driving and a little more reserved constraint in the fame department.

Alanis Morissette is getting ready for a new little man in her life! The pregnant singer, 36, is expecting a baby boy, her rep confirms exclusively to UsMagazine.com. Morissette first shared her pregnancy news with Us Weekly in August. She wed rapper MC Souleye, 30 (real name: Mario Treadway), this past May 22 at their Los Angeles home. “We’re very excited to embark on this journey with each other,” she wrote on her Twitter page soon after tying the knot.
In the end it really doesn’t matter if Alanis Morissette is having a boy or a girl … all that matters is that her baby is born happy and healthy. I am quite confident that she will be an amazing mother and that her son will benefit greatly from her spiritual and musical influence. I can only imagine what effect her pregnancy is having on her art … I cannot wait to hear Alanis‘s next collection of new music. I think it’s very safe to assume that her new music will be influenced greatly by the conception and birth of her baby boy :D
Prince William and Kate Middleton are to marry at Westminster Abbey, the Daily Mail can reveal. Our exclusive picture shows Kate, 28, paying a secret visit last night to the historic church that witnessed Princess Diana's funeral. The bride-to-be emerged alongside William's closest aides. The Abbey closed early to allow her to carry out the private visit. With the entourage of officials and security officers fussing around her, Miss Middleton was beginning to look every inch a member of the Royal Family. Her fiancée could not be with her because he was travelling back to his RAF base in North Wales. So yesterday the royal couple hammered out many of the details for the ceremony with senior courtiers. The photographs emerged as it became increasingly clear Prince Charles will foot the bill for the wedding reception and parts of the ceremony next year. It also became increasingly likely that the wedding will take place in March. Both date and venue are expected to be officially confirmed today or tomorrow once it has been cleared with the Queen. The decision to have the wedding at the Abbey shows that William has put aside painful memories of walking with his younger brother Harry behind the cortege of their mother, past vast crowds of weeping mourners and into the Abbey to say a final farewell to Diana in 1997. The building is steeped in the nation's royal past. It has been the choice for Coronations since 1066 and is also the final resting place for 17 monarchs.
While it may sound kinda creepy that William will marry his wife in the same church where his late mother was memorialized, I think the overriding importance of the church to the Royal Family is what takes precedence. The long history of Westminster Abbey makes it really the only place Prince Wills and Kate can marry. Things are moving fast y’all … it hasn’t even been a week since news of the engagement came out and the site of the wedding has already been chosen. I’m sure it won’t be long before we start hearing about wedding dresses and guest lists. If the couple really will be married in March then there isn’t all that much time to plan a royal wedding. The happy day that Wills marries Kate will be here sooner than you may think.
Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway, whose new film Love and Other Drugs opens in theaters next weekend, are featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine. The couple talk to EW about working together on the film and are actually featured on not one cover but 3 different EW covers. Here is our first look at one of those covers and some excerpts from the couple’s joint interview with Entertainment Weekly:
Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway's new romance, Love & Other Drugs, is arguably the sexiest movie of the year. Throughout the R-rated comedic drama (in theaters Nov. 24), they reveal nearly every inch of their enviably toned bodies. So it makes sense that their photo shoot for this week's cover of EW would be equally steamy. In fact, the duo's flesh-baring photo session was so sensual that we decided to put out three separate covers. Photographer James White, who shot Gyllenhaal and Hathaway in New York, says the costars had an easy rapport. "I thought they'd be a little more tense about it than they were, but it was surprisingly low-key." he says. "I guess after making a movie like that with each other, it's not too big of a deal." During our interview, Gyllenhaal and Hathaway (who played husband and wife in 2005′s Brokeback Mountain), dish on their intense sex scenes in the film. "There is that revoltingly embarrassing moment when you have to take your clothes off in front of strangers," says Hathaway. "I mean, I don't go to the beach in a bikini for a reason. So I thought, 'Okay, I'm going to be in control. I'm going to do everything properly, disrobe at the last minute, and in between shots get the clothes back on.' But then I found that every time I put my robe back on, it rubbed all the body makeup off, and that added 20 minutes to filming. As with all things in life, the second you stop making it about you and you make it about everyone else, it just got, dare I say, fun." Gyllenhaal also spilled one interesting bit of trivia about the tape that kept certain modesty-preserving patches from falling off: "It supposedly was the same tape that they used on Pirates of the Caribbean to keep everybody's wigs on."
You know, despite the cliché-sounding nature of the film, this is a movie that I simply cannot pass up. So much is being made about the sexiness of the film that even if the plotline is predictable and uninteresting I can’t pass up the chance to see Jake Gyllenhaal in “arguably the sexiest movie of the year”. After the jump, check out the other 2 cover photos that feature the topless Jake and Anne and read a few more excerpts from their EW interview …
EW: Was there anything you two learned about each other on that movie that was helpful for this one? Gyllenhaal: Our first interaction as actors in a scene in Brokeback, the rhythm was just on. It was like dancing. We only got a little taste of what it was. But I remember that feeling. You know the actors that you're just going to go somewhere with. We're also both inherently musical. That musicality is what I think makes us really compatible and makes it easy to love her on screen and in life.
EW: Did you maintain a friendship in the years since Brokeback? Hathaway: It was more of a bump-into-each- other casual thing. [To Gyllenhaal] I was always happy to see you, but we didn't really reach out to each other. I kind of felt more bonded to you than I felt that we were friends. I feel like we're friends now. But I always thought of you and was sending you, like, positive vibes and things.
EW: You have a lot of chemistry in that scene. Is that something that's just there, or can you manufacture it? Hathaway: Yeah, you can, but it's not as much fun. Gyllenhaal: There's, like, this little door that you open up and you're like, "You down?" "Yeah, I'm down—let's do it." And the door closes when the scene ends. Yeah, it's sexy when we're doing it. And then it stops. But she could probably talk to a wall and have chemistry.
EW: So if you two are closer friends now, where does your relationship go from here? Do you hang out more now than you did before? Gyllenhaal: We do hang out more now. Hathaway: I now have a go-to cooking teacher, which is wonderful.
I can’t say I’m entirely convinced that Jake and Anne have a chemistry between them that looks romantically genuine, particularly when I look back on their performance together in Brokeback Mountain. Tho, in that film, the couple were playing an estranged husband and wife caught in a loveless marriage. I think Love and Other Drugs will give us a better feel for the way the actors play off one another romantically. But, again, even if the movie is the worst film ever, I’ll still be there to see it because of, well, the nekkidness. I’m just really hoping to get treated to an enjoyable film with all the gratuitous on-screen nekkidness.
Erin Barry has been revealed as the woman at the centre of Desperate Housewives’s star Eva Longoria’s divorce. Access Hollywood reports that Longoria’s husband Tony Parker, 28, sent the mother of two, hundreds of ‘sex texts’ . Mrs Barry, 37, is estranged from her husband former NBA basketball star Brent Barry, Parker’s former San Antonio Spurs’s teammate. Her father-in-law confirmed to TMZ that she filed for divorce from her husband of 12 years just last month. The sportsmen, seen posing together with their wives in an undated photo, became friends when they played together for the Spurs from 2004 to 2008. And yesterday, Longoria, 35, filed for divorce in Los Angeles after telling friend and television presenter Mario Lopez, that she had discovered texts alleged to be from Barry, on her husband’s phone. Erin, 37, has been married to Brent Barry, now an NBA TV host, for 12 years. And according to Access Hollywood, divorce papers were filed on October 29. Barry’s father, NBA Hall of Famer Rick Barry, told celebrity website TMZ: ‘I feel horrible for my son. I’m in shock. I knew [Erin] was moving out of the house soon and she was the one that filed for divorce. This is the straw that broke the camel’s back.’ Rick added: ‘[Brent] is going to be devastated. I can’t even imagine him going through this … the divorce was hard enough news’ … Brent Barry played alongside Tony Parker for four years for the Spurs, during which time she got to know actress Eva. The Barrys have two sons, Quin, nine, and Cade, four. Erin said in a 2006 interview that full-time mothers don’t get the respect they deserve and need to stick together. ‘Moms need to be more supportive of each other,’ she told the San Antonio Woman.
Dang! It’s crappy enough that Tony allegedly cheated on his wife Eva but that he did so with a teammate’s wife just makes the whole situation even crappier. It is being reported that Tony and Erin carried on this sexting affair for about a year, well before Erin and Brent filed for divorce last month. Now that Eva knows what’s been going on, it’s no wonder that she decided to dump her hubby so quickly. It’s amazing that we already know so much about this alleged affair and break-up … but you gotta wonder, are there any other skeletons in the closet that are dying to come out?
Brace yourselves Michael Jackson fans … Glee is planning to put their spin on one of Michael Jackson‘s biggest songs ever! Entertainment Weekly magazine is reporting that the first post-Super Bowl XLV episode of 2011 will feature MJ‘s Thriller as one of the ep’s big musical numbers … and not only that but the song will be mashed-up with another as-yet unannounced song. That’s right, arguable the most famous MJ song will get the Glee treatment next year:
A Glee source confirms to EW exclusively that Glee will be tackling Michael Jackson's iconic "Thriller" for their post-Super Bowl episode…but with a twist. The Jackson classic will be performed as a mash-up with another song, yet to be chosen. But the supersized episode, which our source says will be the most expensive in Glee history and likely one of televsion's priciest episodes ever, will also feature covers of tunes by Black Eyed Peas, Lady Antebellum, and Katy Perry. Whew. I'm already worn out, and yet there's more. Although "Thriller" is featured in the episode, it will not be a Michael Jackson tribute episode. Nor will it be a tribute to Bruce Springsteen, as rumors have suggested. In fact, our source says that the only pop star truly considered for the Super Bowl episode was Sir Elton John (expect a John tribute episode as part of Glee's back nine episodes). The post-Super Bowl episode will instead keep with the evening's sports theme and focus on the local football championship and Sue Sylvester's cheerleading regionals (the "Thriller" mash-up will be played during halftime of the onscreen pigskin game). Basically, it will be a classic episode of Glee, but just bigger and better; Gleeks can also expect appearances from season two fan favorites: Blaine (Darren Criss) and Coach Beiste (Dot-Marie Jones).
Um … and let’s not forget BRITNEY SPEARS! You may recall that we learned in September that our dear Britney will be appearing on Glee in a sizable acting role in the episode of Glee that will air just after the Super Bowl XLV next year … so if that claim is still valid, then Britney *should* be appearing in this Thriller episode. HMMM. I guess we’ll have to wait and see about that but we do know now that Glee will take on Thriller … which should make a lot of people happy AND a lot of people not so happy. Which team are you? Are you excited that Glee will be doing Michael Jackson‘s Thriller?
