Damn: California Highway Patrol Officer Tomiekia Johnson was arrested and charged Tuesday with murdering her husband, who she claims she shot in self-defense in February 2009. According to the district attorney’s office, the 31-year-old Johnson was arrested by Los Angeles sheriff’s deputies. Initially, Johnson told investigators that she shot Marcus Lemons once in the upper body after an argument between the two escalated to physical violence, reports KTLA. However, prosecutors say she intentionally shot Lemons, the father of her two children, and then fled to her parents’ house in Compton where she reported the incident, says The Los Angeles Times. Johnson, who had been employed with the CHP since 2002 was off-duty at the time of the shooting. The newspaper says Johnson was arrested at the desk job she’s held since the killing. Sheriff’s homicide detectives doubted Johnson’s story especially after family members and friends of Lemons, a 31-year-old barber, described him as a peaceful man, while Johnson had a history of drinking heavily, reports The Los Angeles Times. The California Highway Patrol is cooperating fully with investigators and the district attorney’s office as the prosecution goes forward. KTLA reports that Johnson’s bail has been set at $2 million.

SMH: A nasty battle between factions of Legislative District 20 Republicans and fears that it could turn violent in the wake of what happened in Tucson on Saturday prompted District Chairman Anthony Miller and several others to resign. Miller, a 43-year-old Ahwatukee Foothills resident and former campaign worker for U.S. Sen. John McCain, was re-elected to a second one-year term last month. He said constant verbal attacks after that election and Internet blog posts by some local members with Tea Party ties made him worry about his family’s safety. In an e-mail sent a few hours after Saturday’s massacre in Tucson that killed six and injured 13, including U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, Miller told state Republican Party Chairman Randy Pullen he was quitting: “Today my wife of 20 yrs ask (sic) me do I think that my PCs (Precinct Committee members) will shoot at our home? So with this being said I am stepping down from LD20GOP Chairman…I will make a full statement on Monday.” Pullen was in Washington, D.C. and not available for comment, an employee in his office said. State party spokesman Matt Roberts said he could not discuss details of the district’s disputes but, “Anthony has been a good Republican and was really involved in LD20.” The newly-elected Dist. 20 Republican secretary, Sophia Johnson of Ahwatukee, first vice chairman Roger Dickinson of Tempe and Jeff Kolb, the former district spokesman from Ahwatukee, also quit. “This singular focus on ‘getting’ Anthony (Miller) was one of the main reasons I chose to resign,” Kolb said in an e-mail to another party activist. Kolb confirmed the contents of the e-mail to the Republic. District 20 includes parts of Chandler, south Tempe and Ahwatukee Foothills. Republican state Rep. Bob Robson of Chandler and Sen. John McComish of Ahwatukee said they had supported Miller as chairman and were sorry to see him go. “It’s too bad,” McComish said. “He didn’t deserve to be hounded out of office.” A longtime Republican activist, McComish said contentious battles for local party leadership posts are nothing new, but this one appears to be more extreme, especially since there are no partisan elections in 2011 and by next year district boundaries will change. Kolb said the Tea Party and associated conservative groups ran their slate of candidates for seven Dist. 20 leadership positions, winning three — the treasurer’s post and two vice-chairmanships. However, Miller beat challenger Thomas Morrissey for the top post after Sheriff Joe Arpaio made a personal appearance for Morrissey. Phone messages left for Morrissey were not returned. After the election and around the December holiday season, some of Miller’s detractors made an issue of the residency of Dickinson, the first vice-chairman. Dickinson, who did not return phone messages, was a supporter of Miller’s and allegedly moved to a different precinct within Dist. 20 last year, making him ineligible for the leadership post. Miller said he told the critics he would handle the matter after the holidays. In the meantime, a series of accusatory e-mails was exchanged among party members. Some blasted Miller’s support of McCain, called him a “McCainiac with a penchant for violating the rules” and a “McCain hack.” Members of the Ahwatukee Tea Party group did not respond to e-mails seeking comment. Miller said when he was a member of McCain’s campaign staff last year has been criticized by the more conservative party members who supported Republican opponent J.D. Hayworth. The first and only African-American to hold the party’s precinct chairmanship, Miller said he has been called “McCain’s boy,” and during the campaign saw a critic form his hand in the shape of a gun and point it at him. “I wasn’t going to resign but decided to quit after what happened Saturday,” Miller said. “I love the Republican Party but I don’t want to take a bullet for anyone.”

We were all impressed with Bugsy’s business sense after he made some serious dough off of Twitter the other day. But there’s a catch. Apparently, the money 50 made off of his little stock tip wasn’t real and is already gone… but not before the FCC got interested in the situation. 50 Cent may see himself in front of the Security Exchange Commission (SEC) over some stock advice he gave out to his 3.8 million twitter followers.
According to the New York Post, 50′s involvement helped the HNHI stock jump from $0.10 per share at the market's opening yesterday to $0.39 per share when it closed; the spike translated to an $8.7 million earning for Fif, who owns 30 million shares. "There are very strict guidelines as to what a person can do in terms of possibly manipulating the value of a stock," financial expert and 60-Minute Money Workout author Ellie Kay told FOX411. "I don't think it would be a huge surprise to anyone if 50 Cent were investigated for what he did." "We can neither confirm nor deny" an investigation is taking place, a SEC rep told Fox News. 50 Cent has yet to comment on the situation, but his tweets in question have been removed. They have been replaced with this: "HNHI is the right investment for me it may or may not be right for u! Do ur homework," as well as, "I own HNHI stock thoughts on it are my opinion. Talk to financial advisor about it."

Singer Ricky Romance has finally issued an apology for threatening to shoot Chris Brown, but in order to understand what the hell he’s talking about, you’re gonna need a dictionary … unless you know what the word “nanocephalous” means. Ricky never apologizes directly to Brown — instead, he uses all sorts of fancy language to attack Chris … who famously feuded with Ricky’s famous brother Raz B last month. Among the terminological gems — fallaciloquences, nanocephalous, macrotus and humgruffin. Here’s the “apology” in full … good luck: “I would like to extend my most sincere apologies to the elderly and youth of our nation for my sudden acrasial message of violence towards other individuals of unimportance.” I must eclaircise any misunderstandings that I am a Man of irrational aggression and behavior. In no way am I attempting to justify my actions towards persons of high immaturity levels and hypocritical methods of "becoming a better person," I was wrong. My unexpected reaction to fallaciloquences embellished with deceitful humgruffin cover-ups and unnecessary remarks towards my younger brother enraged me. I couldn't seem to fathom how a immature nanocephalous adult raglan tailored ex-batman and a jean maillot wearing macrotus, labrose, kazachoc like dancing, woman beater callent could make such comments and pass judgment to an abuse victim. At the moment I was infuriated. Please let my actions be as a lesson as what not to do. You must vastate yourself to aggression and search for other solutions before reacting. Threatening closet coward human beings only leads their tearful plea for restraining orders, desperate cries for help from "affiliating gang bangers", and countless whiney excuses -I.E. "she hit me first!!" to the media and courts, which could possibly result unwanted circumstances. Dammit man! We hate to see this story go this bad so fast. Ted Williams, the golden-voiced homeless man discovered last week, became an overnight sensation and scored a job offer to get him off the streets. But following a police-involved confrontation with his recently reunited daughter on Monday night in Los Angeles, Williams may be headed for rehab. A rep for Dr. Phil McGraw, who has Williams on his show this week, tells PEOPLE the talk show host convinced Williams to get treatment for drug and alcohol abuse after a “lengthy one-on-one conversation.” “If Ted is ever going to get better, he’s got to be honest with himself and admit he’s addicted to drugs and alcohol," says McGraw. “I’ve told him it’s not going to be easy and it’s going to take a lot of hard work. It might be a long journey for him, but this is a big step in the right direction.” This decision comes shortly after Williams, 53, admits on the syndicated Dr. Phil show in an episode airing Wednesday that he is still drinking. “I did have an alcohol problem early,” Williams has acknowledged in an interview on the Today show. “I was drinking like a fifth a day … my life went to pits.” The troubled voiceover actor also has a rap sheet that includes theft, robbery, forgery and drug possession.
SMH. We hope Ted is really trying to get his life together. Because these good white folks are not about to let him make them look stupid after all this attention. Should we have seen this coming though? Source

Michelle Lee was minding her business sipping a water with her friend when a bouncer approached her, asked if she was pregnant, and promptly escorted her to the door. Michelle Lee was catching up with friends at a nightspot near her parents’ home when a bouncer pulled her aside. “Can I ask you a personal question?” Lee recalled him asking. “Are you pregnant?” She responded yes because, at eight months along, it would have been difficult to argue otherwise, she said later. Lee, 29, said the bouncer who was staffing the Coach House bar near Roselle didn’t care that she was only drinking water. …”He just said, if anything happens, if a fight breaks out and you get hurt, we are responsible,” Lee said. “That can happen anywhere. If I am going somewhere, I am taking responsibility.” Civil rights experts said that, despite any good intentions, it would be wrong to send a woman packing just because she was pregnant. “There are certain things for which you are not able to discriminate against someone, and one is their gender,” said Ed Yohnka, an American Civil Liberties Union spokesman. “And only women can have babies. You can’t discriminate against a pregnant person.” According to the Illinois Human Rights Act: “It is unlawful to discriminate in the full and equal enjoyment of facilities and services by any place of public accommodation.”
Now, we get that the bouncer had the best possible intentions when asking Miss Lee to leave, and clearly some lawyers believe that this is a clear case of discrimination. But, do you feel it was WRONG for the bouncer to ask her to leave??? Source
