Alyson Hannigan & Fam Get Ready For Hallowe’en Posted: 03 Oct 2010 01:59 PM PDT With only a few short weeks left until Hallowe’en, Alyson Hannigan her hubby Alexis Denisof and their beautiful little girl Satyana decided to get their SoCal home all decorated for the occasion. Here are a few pics of Aly and the fam putting up and then surveying their spooky-fun decorations: I know for a fact that the Hannigan-Denisofs are HUGE fans of Hallowe’en so I’m certain that little Satyana is learning the ropes from her folks. Last year the family dressed up as kangaroos, with little Satyana tucked safely inside Alyson‘s pouch … I wonder what the family is planning for this year? Now that the Hallowe’en decorations are up, I’m sure the next big project is to figure out what the family is going to dress up as for Hallowe’en. I can’t wait to find out.

Marsters And Servant Posted: 03 Oct 2010 01:39 PM PDT Last night my friend Angie and I made our way to a tiny hole in the wall club in Santa Monica, CA to see Buffyverse alum James Marsters and his band Ghost of the Robot play their first show in 7 years. Ghost of the Robot broke up back in 2003 and haven’t played a show together … until last night. Here are a few photos that I snapped from last night’s concert: James was especially proud of the fact that his teenage son Sullivan was able to play a few songs with his dad’s band and you could tell that everyone had a blast. Angie and I were so excited to be in the same room with James that we were just giddy with excitement all night long. We were both very thrilled to get to chat with James for a bit after show. He very graciously took as much time as possible to pose for photos and sign any autographs asked of him by his loyal fans … he really is the nicest guy you’ll ever meet. It is plainly obvious that he appreciates every single fan and is happy to do whatever he can (within reason, I’m sure) to put a smile on every face. That moment came for each of us when we got to snap pics with our fave Buffyverse vamp (I mean, let’s be honest, Spike is just way cooler than Angel). We had so much fun … I’m so glad I got to share last night with a fellow Buffyverse geek ;)
I have to give a shout out to Pink reader Alex who I got to meet at the show last night … it was my pleasure meeting you :) After the show, Angie and I made our way to Pink Taco to eat, drink and be more merry. It was a very fun but very late night … and I loved every second of it. Not sure what the plan is for tonight … I might lie low … keep it simple, possibly indoors. Happy Sunday, y’all!! |

Hot Dude Of The Week: Matthew Evangelisti Posted: 03 Oct 2010 12:41 PM PDT It is that time, once again, to say hello to the Hot Dude of the Week. Lookin’ like he’s ready to hit the dusty trails on his crotch rocket, this week’s Hot Dude — photographed by Rick Day — is very obvs rearin’ to go! Say hello to Matthew Evangelisti: While I don’t think Matthew here will get much protection from riding his motorcycle sans shirt, you gotta appreciate that homie is very smartly wearing a motorcycle helmet. Safety first! I, personally, have never taken a ride on a motorcycle before but I don’t think I’d mind getting a lesson or two on how to ride from this week’s Hot Dude … would you? Enjoy!!

Guillermo Del Toro Is Bringing ‘The Munsters’ Back To TV Posted: 03 Oct 2010 11:56 AM PDT Visionary director Guillermo Del Toro has already made a name for himself in film and in books … next, he is making the move to television. Del Toro has reportedly signed on to work with Universal Studios to bring back a modern, revamped version of the hit 60′s TV series The Munsters … an idea that I think may have some serious bite, considering Del Toro‘s masterful talent: Creepy comedy family “The Munsters” are heading back to the small screen in a new TV show with help from director Guillermo del Toro, according to U.S. reports. The original series, starring Fred Gwynne and Yvonne De Carlo, ran for two years between 1964 and 1966 and it spawned several films before it was revived in the 1980s for a spin-off called “The Munsters Today”, which ended in 1991. Now executives at Universal are reportedly planning to bring the ghoulish group back once again, with Pan’s Labyrinth director Del Toro taking a behind-the-scenes role in the project. Bosses at TV network NBC are said to have commissioned a pilot episode, according to Entertainment Weekly
I used to love watching reruns of The Munsters (as well as rival TV series The Addams Family) when I was very young so I’ve been a fan of these characters for a long time. I loved how within their own household only the “normal” cousin Marilyn Munster was the freak (ie. she was odd because she wasn’t a monster). As a big fan of Guillermo Del Toro‘s work and vision, I think a remake of this TV show could be very very cool. I cannot see how Del Toro would be satisfied with putting out a sub par sitcom so my guess is that his version of The Munsters will be a bit more cerebral … at least, that is my hope. Classic TV show remakes always worry me … especially shows that I love so dearly … but I have faith that Guillermo Del Toro will do his best to make a great TV show. Will it work? That remains to be seen … but I’m kinda looking forward to what he comes up with. Any fans of The Munsters out there? What do y’all think of this idea? [Source] |
David Beckham & Boys Kick Around The Ol’ Soccer Ball, Face A New Lawsuit Posted: 03 Oct 2010 11:30 AM PDT In the wake of new cheating allegations that have lead to even newer lawsuits (on both ends), David Beckham put his focus on his young sons Romeo James and Cruz David this week in an effort to coach the boys in the ways of soccer. After all, what’s a superstar soccer stud daddy to do? Here are cute new pics of Becks and his boys kickin’ around the soccer ball together this week: But while Becks was trying to normalize his life with his family, Irma Nici has decided to counter-sue David Beckham for “emotional stress and physical injuries” in the wake of his lawsuit of her:
David Beckham is facing further anguish as Irma Nici has decided to counter-sue the footballer. The 26-year-old former prostitute, who claims to have bedded Beckham, is now hitting back at the father-of-three, according to reports. Nici's attorney, Paul Rolf Jensen, allegedly filed her suit on Friday at Los Angeles County Superior Court for emotional and physical injuries. She is said to be claiming for the injuries received when a process server arrived at her New York hotel to deliver Beckham's £16million lawsuit last week. The Bosnian-born hooker claims she was hounded by the officials and was hospitalised afterwards as a direct result and his holding Beckham responsible. Her attorney Mr Jenson said: 'Beckham is responsible for his goon's conduct, and we will hold him liable for it.' Jenson continued: 'California law does not allow public figures like David Beckham to stifle free speech. 'Maybe he didn't live here in Los Angeles long enough to learn how precious we here consider our rights to tell the truth in print,' Radar Online reported him saying … Nici's lawsuit comes after Beckham launched his suit on the woman claiming to have had slept with him and the magazine that published her claims. Beckham's attorney Bert H. Deixler wrote to In Touch magazine before they published the story, saying: 'Let me make it clear. The story you propose to run about Mr Beckham and a prostitute is a lie. 'The allegations are unequivocally denied. Publishing them would lead to legal action and end in an enormous damages award against you' … To add further drama in Beckham's current situation were revelations last week that he'd been named in a court case over claims of an affair with a married mother-of-two. The 35-year-old sporting legend was forced to deny having an illicit fling with Hollywood jeweller Shery Shabani, 33. Mrs Shabani said she was accused by her 'jealous' and 'delusional' husband Kambiz of having an affair with Beckham, whose three sons Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, eight, and Cruz, five, attend the same school as her own son and daughter.
UGH … this latest scandal is just getting worse and worse. I can’t say that I believe any of these cheating claims but that doesn’t mean that any of this is going to go away quietly. Depending on how long both sides plan to drag this out, we could be hearing about this drama for quite some time. My guess is that Les Beckhams will soon get tired of having to deal with it and may figure out a way to settle in an effort to make it all go away. No matter what happens in the end, as long as the Beckham family sticks together and focuses on what’s most important … this ugly mess will eventually, one way or another, become a thing of the past. Britney Spears & Jason Trawick Go Toy Shopping Posted: 03 Oct 2010 10:45 AM PDT Last Tuesday we got to see photos of Britney Spears and her man Jason Trawick together again in SoCal for the first time publicly since they returned from their 2-week Hawaiian holiday together last month … and this weekend, Britwick ventured out together again … this time to do a bit of toy shopping at Toys ‘R’ Us: My, my … from the look of that hefty Toys ‘R’ Us bag it looks like Xmas is coming early for Britney‘s boys. As you can see, Britney was rockin’ a few new temporary tattoos on her neck and shoulder during this outing … which occurred to me would be excellent ways to cover up any new love bites ;) Whatever the case may be, it looks like Britwick had a lot of fun on their toy shopping excursion together.

Glee’s Mark Salling & Chord Overstreet ‘LOVE’ Cirque Du Soleil Posted: 03 Oct 2010 10:30 AM PDT On Friday night Glee‘s Mark Salling and new castmember Chord Overstreet attended the 7pm performance of the Cirque du Soleil show The Beatles LOVE at the Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV with a bunch of their friends to check out their first-ever Cirque show. Mark and the guys made their way to LV this weekend to celebrate the release of his debut album titled Pipe Dreams, which is due for release on October 25, and decided to check out LOVE. Here is a fun photo of Mark, Chord and some of the LOVE castmembers backstage after the show: There have been pretty rampant rumors that Glee is planning to do an episode devoted to the music of The Beatles so I wouldn’t be surprised if the guys took a few notes from Friday night’s performance of LOVE. I am such a huge fan of Cirque du Soleil that I’m glad to learn that Mark and Chord finally got to see their first Cirque show. I guarantee it won’t be their last. LOVE is one of the shows that I’ve yet to see … it’s deffo on my list for my next trip to Las Vegas.

‘Peanuts’ Turn 60 Posted: 03 Oct 2010 09:54 AM PDT On Thursday we learned that the iconic animated family The Flintstones celebrated their 50th anniversary and today we learn that the comic strip gang Peanuts (aka Charlie Brown, Snoopy and friends) is not to be outdone as they celebrate their 60th anniversary this weekend! If you consider that the Peanuts gang is 60 then that would make Snoopy 253 in dog years ;) Peanuts, the iconic comic strip that charmed hundreds of millions of people worldwide with the antics of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy and Linus, is celebrating its 60th anniversary on Saturday. The original strip, drawn by Charles M. Schulz, first ran on October 2,1950 in seven newspapers and continued until February 13, 2000, the day after Schulz’s death at the age of 77. It has appeared in more than 2,000 newspapers in 72 countries and 21 languages and still continues in reruns. Its lovable characters, Linus with his trademark security blanket, bossy Lucy at her lemonade stand, anxiety-prone Charlie Brown and Snoopy with his typewriter and fantasies of being the Red Baron, appealed to children and adults of all ages and appeared in books, plays, TV shows and in films. Schulz’s daughter, Jill, attributes the phenomenal success of Peanuts to its universal themes … The characters became like family to her. “They were like siblings, but couldn’t argue back.” Jeannie Schulz believes the success of her husband’s comic strip came from its ability to convey common human emotions simply. “People love the simplicity and the clarity of the drawings and the language. We always knew the characters dealt with human emotions, fears, hopes, and insecurities,” she said … A year-long tribute to Schulz and the Peanuts characters is planned in the United States and around the globe to mark the anniversary … Web-based Peanuts fans can participate in a social media game (greatpumpkincountdown.com) and earn points by completing daily Peanuts related tasks, such as sharing a memorable quote with Facebook friends or Twitter followers or putting up a character as a profile picture. The winner will be awarded a Peanuts-themed iPad and $25,000 in cash from Peanuts Worldwide LLC. Jeannie Schulz said her husband would have been pleased that his characters still have such a fervent following. “He always wanted to make people happy. He would like that people are still enjoying it. Making people happy was the measure of success for him”
Wow … 60 years is a long time for a comic strip to exist … and when you consider how beloved Charlie Brown and his friends still are even to this day, it’s not hard to believe that they’ll continue be remain beloved for many, many more years to come. As much as I’m not too thrilled with the onset of Fall, I am very much looking forward to Hallowe’en since it is one of my favorite holidays … and with Hallowe’en comes the yearly broadcast of It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. I remember how much fun it was for me as a child to watch The Great Pumpkin … and to be honest, it still is. Then around Xmas we have the A Charlie Brown Christmas special to look forward to. Honestly, the Peanuts comic strip was never the way that I enjoyed the characters … for me, it is the cartoons that hold a special place in my heart. But I grew up in the TV age (as opposed to the print age) and I’m certain kids growing up today in the digital age will make their own beloved memories of these lovable characters. I hope you’ll join me in wishing the Peanuts gang a Happy 60th Anniversary! And here’s to many, many more!! [Source] |
