Above is a photo of Michelle Williams as Marilyn Monroe. She will be playing Monroe in My Week With Marilyn, a film about a week on the London set of The Prince and the Showgirl back in the 1950s, told from the perspective of an assistant on the production. It's apparently based on a true story, I guess. And I guess it got made because so many people still have a weird Marilyn fetish. Actually, I can kind of understand why this film is being made in general, just because it probably is the kind of juicy, interesting actory story that people love - Ken Branagh is playing Laurence Olivier, after all. What bothers me, however, is that I think Michelle will end up making a pretty crappy Marilyn. Yes, she kind of looks like her, but Marilyn could do vivacious and bubbly and bombshell, where Michelle… excels at drama. Eh. Here's more about the film: Julia Ormond is playing Vivien Leigh after Catherine Zeta-Jones dropped out, and Dougray Scott is playing Arthur Miller. Filming starts today in London on the feature, which is shooting for 7 weeks at Pinewood and on location in and around the city. Michelle Williams is cast as Marilyn Monroe alongside Kenneth Branagh (Laurence Oliver), Judi Dench (Dame Sybil Thorndike), Dominic Cooper, Emma Watson and Derek Jacobi with Eddie Redmayne playing Colin Clark, the young assistant on the set of the 1956 film The Prince and the Showgirl who helped the star escape her pressure-cooker Hollywood career for a brief week. Directed by Simon Curtis (BBC TV's Cranford) and produced by David Parfitt (Shakespeare In Love), the film is based on Clark's diaries and has been adapted for the screen by Adrian Hodges. Parfitt's Trademark Films is the production company, while The Weinstein Company is financing and distributing. BBC Films and Lipsync Productions are co-financing the film, which was developed in association with the UK Film Council and BBC Films.
[From Deadline] You know what's weird? When Marilyn filmed The Prince and the Showgirl, she was already married to Arthur Miller, and he came to London for the shoot as well. And yet I don't think there will be an actor portraying Miller - strange. Oh, Dougray Scott is playing Miller. My bad… although that’s really strange casting. At least Branagh gets to achieve his lifelong dream of becoming Olivier.

Question: why is Scott Disick filled with rage? Is a closet case situation? You know what I mean - is he self-loathing to the point where he takes his hatred of himself out on others? Or does Scott just suffer from Douchey White Boy Syndrome? Like, he's so "above" everyone else because he's so fancy, and sometimes that sense of elitism comes out in violent ways? Ugh. Whatever. I can't believe I'm giving this so much thought. Anyway, through another violent incident into the pile labeled “Patrick Bateman is Scott’s Hero”: Shattered glass, a violent outburst and public fighting — Scott Disick is back to his old (and dangerous) ways. Joining all three Kardashian sisters — Kim, Kourtney, & Khloé — for the filming of their new show Kourtney & Kim Take New York, at Juliet Supper Club in NYC on Oct. 7, a supposedly sober Scott was seen wildly popping champagne and Hpnotiq liqueur bottles while fist-pumping on the dance floor. "He was out of control!” an eyewitness tells Life & Style about the father of Kourtney's infant son, Mason. The night took a dangerous turn for the worse when Scott exchanged words with an unidentified male and ended up in a brawl. "As soon as Kourtney left to use the restroom, a guy went up to Scott and the two started shouting aggressively," an eyewitness tells Life & Style. "Glasses were thrown, and the glass shattered everywhere on the floor. Everyone surrounding them was really scared and moving around to avoid being hit — even the camera crew looked nervous and shocked." Shortly after a visibly drunk Scott was kicked out of the club, the sisters followed. Although Khloé and Kim seemed unfazed by the scuffle, as if it were routine with Scott, everyone else appeared horrified. "After Kourtney finally came out of the bathroom, she caught up with her sisters to ask why Scott had been kicked out," says the eyewitness. "She seemed confused and worried." Following the incident, another eyewitness tells Life & Style that production shut down after Scott and the Kardashians were escorted away. Check please!

I've come a long way on Kanye West. When I first heard of him (through music), I thought he was very talented, and I thought he was crazy egotistical. Then some time passed, and I just found him annoying. And then some more time passed, and he showed up drunk at the VMAs and made Taylor Swift cry and I kind of hated him. And since then, Kanye has found a way to get back into my heart. I actually like this "new" Kanye more than any of his other Kanyes. This Kanye tries to be deep and fails hilariously. This Kanye lives for epic hyperbole. This Kanye has one of the best Twitter accounts ever. So with that in mind, enjoy Kanye's interview with The Daily Mirror: On a night with Kanye West we got the lowdown on LiLo, an update on his Taylor Swift spat and why he’s Wacko about Jacko. Phew! There was no subject off limits when we met the rap megastar, 33, at a screening of his fab movie Runaway. In fact, Kanye even cancelled dinner plans to spend a few hours chatting to yours truly. Kanye said: “With the passing of Michael Jackson, I feel a responsibility to bring things to our generation that can inspire and bring real culture to pop culture. I don’t sleep any more thinking how we are going to fill this gap, and create something to inspire on the level he did.” Kanye also got, er, heated talking of Lindsay Lohan. I’m an artist and I’m all about my movie now and am leaving that behind. Most people will be like, ‘I guess it’s OK Beyonce’s video didn’t win.’ That’s not me. After the MTV thing I quit doing music. I had to get back into the world’s grace. I went to Japan, Hawaii, to get away. I thought I was going to give it all up. It’s only through divine intervention that I am here today.” So how does he see the future? Kayne insisted: “I don’t want to be put in the hip-hop box, I’m an artist. Hopefully I’ll hook up with George Lucas and do a film about yellow people with beaks.” Well, we’d definitely pay good money to see that… WEST’S WORDS OF WISDOM… On sex: “I lose my religion every time I step in a club. A few days ago, we got the preview of Jessica Alba's photo shoot and interview for the November issue of GQ UK. These photos are from the actual shoot, as opposed to screen caps, like we had before. This photos are very, very sexy, and you can see that Jessica's "Hotness Renaissance" is back and in full effect. Of course, Jessica doesn't think so. In the excerpts so far, Jessica is fishing for compliments and telling us that she doesn't see herself as beautiful or sexy. Right. That's why she's posing like this. Here are more excerpts from her interview: Jessica Alba has revealed she would be up for appearing in Avatar 2. The actress would relish the thought of working with filmmaker James Cameron again, after he gave her her big break when he picked her to star in cult TV series Dark Angel. “He knows where to find me - I’m always available to him,” she told GQ. “If we can work together and have a successful movie and make a lot of money, then great. But most importantly, he’s my friend.” Jessica, who next stars in Robert Rodriguez’s Machete, added: “Career-wise, the most impactful people for me have been James Cameron and Robert Rodriguez.” The 29-year-old also admitted she felt nervous around Robert De Niro, who she co-stars with in the slasher thriller. “It felt like I was dreaming. You work with De Niro and you suddenly feel totally different,” she said. “My heart was beating fast, I got tongue-tied, I was sweating and so nervous. But he was so sweet, and gentle, calm, quiet and kept to himself.” She couldn’t resist asking him for advice: “I said to him, ‘Robert, please help me, I don’t want to f**k this up, please don’t let me suck’.” Alba also told UK men's magazine GQ that she is not confident about her looks and that she doesn't understand why she is regarded as a sex symbol. She said: "”My breasts are saggy, I’ve got cellulite, my hips are bigger, but I love it - there’s something so amazing about having a child. [I'm] way more comfortable, since I had a baby. I’m far less self-conscious now I have her to worry about. I just feel better about myself. I’m not so hard on myself. I don't get it. Every actress out there is more beautiful than me. Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Lopez, Halle Berry, Jennifer Garner, Beyoncé, you name it. All better looking than me. I've seen them without make-up, so I know." And despite being regularly featured on the cover of men's magazines, Alba admitted that she doesn't enjoy the experience. She said: "I've never been comfortable showing my body off like that. I used to have anxiety attacks before I did the photo-shoots. I'd never worn high-heels or even dresses before I did movies… "I wasn't even allowed to show my stomach in my house when I was growing up – my parents were very strict. But this is the business I'm in, and it's made me a lot of money, so I can't complain."
