ATL's Newest Housewife Phaedra Parks Talks Ex-Con Hubby & Being A Southern Belle

"Real Housewives of Atlanta" fans should get ready for Phaedra Parks.  At least that what she says.  She's a hard-hitting attorney (Bobby Brown was a client), married to an ex-con, gives birth on the show, and prides herself on being a southern belle (which, of course, irritates other cast members).

Phaedra Parks comes to RHOA with her own money, a long career and a big personality.  She tells YBF that she joined the show because of everything it could lead to.

"I want to enjoy the ride and what comes with it,” Phaedra tells us.

If you are wondering if we will get a showdown with Phaedra and castmate Nene Leakes, or perhaps Phaedra vs. Sheree, she's not revealing. 

“Everyone has strong personalities, its explosive," she says.  "I got to know each of the ladies in a different way and in different perspectives. I formed a relationship with all of them."

The self proclaimed southern belle's personal business has already been dragged through the press.  She fell in love with an ex-con and everybody seems to have an opinion about it.  

“People always talk, but I know who he is and I know who I am. I have a wonderful marriage with him and we have a wonderful family.”

She says people love to talk but that doesn’t change or stop them from loving each other.  Her husband, Apollo Nida, was convicted on racketeering charges, a white-collar crime, in 2004.  And Phaedra says we should not hold a person's past against them.   

She came off a bit blah about what she'll be bringing to the season (maybe that's why Nene called her "boring and unfabulous").  But what she did reveal about what you'll see from her on the show: Her stressing the importance of being a Southern belle.  And by that, Phaedra says you are a Southern belle just by being born in the South, but you have to work on embracing Southern culture, being a Renaissance woman and wearing your heritage proudly. 

Guess that didn't rub off on her castmates. NeNe already called Phaedra "boring and un-fabulous."  Fightin' words.

This little girl is ka-yute!  They hit up the cake table at a birthday party at Coldwater Canyon Park in Beverly Hills for a friends daughter who just turned 1 yesterday:

T.I. & Tiny Dine For A Cause

Newlyweds Tameka "Tiny" Cottle and Clifford "T.I." Harris' For The Love of Our Fathers Foundation continued the fight against Alzheimer's over the weekend.  As we all know, Tiny's father suffers from the illness.  So the couple hosted a private luncheon for the cause in Atlanta on Sunday hosted by Lil Duval.

The Harris' whole fam was in attendance--Tiny's mom, the couples' children, and close friends.  The twosome skipped out on the BET Hip Hop Awards Saturday night as well.

Lil Duval snapped some pics before the event.

Tiny's daughter Zonnique kicked it with her grandmother.

The OMG Girlz were there.  And Tiny's other girls look like they're suffocating.

And Tiny snapped some pics with her mom.  On a sidenote, that ring is something serious...

YBF Chops It Up With Celebs On The Black Carpet+Flicks From Inside The 2010 BET Hip Hop Awards

YBF hit the Atlanta Civic Center last night for the BET Hip-Hop Awards 2010.  We've got black carpet video footage of what Soulja Boy told us about his recent mix up with Kat Stacks, Wacka Flocka told us about his new movie, and Trey Songz, Diggy, and others stopped by to chop it up as well.

YBF's ATL corrspondent Ms. Dia asked Soulja Boy about the Kat Stacks video. He says the popularity of the situation just “feeds his ego” and lets him know he is one of the hottest rappers around. WTF?  Waka Flacka Flame talks about his upcoming movie project with Gucci Mane and Elise Neal talks about the PussyCat Dolls stealing one of her songs.  Drama.  All that plus Trey Songz, Diggy and Musiq:

 

Lil Duval is a FUNNY dude.


Inside the show:

Salt-N-Pepa were the honorees of the evening.  And the ladies looked fab accepting their award.
 

Funny man Mike Epps kept the audience laughing.  He even wore a pair of extra tight jeans and then went off on all the "tight jean boys."


 

You could not get away from Nicki as she appeared at the podium several times throughout the evening.

And Diddy hit the stage with Rick Ross.

Trina was all smiles posing with Trey Songz.  How do we feel about this new hair color?  A sudden red change up eh?

Busta Rhymes was chillin' all night.


 

Swizz Beatz and Gucci Mane performed "It's Gucci Time" together.

Soulja Boy hit the stage.

We also got a blast from the past.  I see you Digital Underground.  And I also see you went to the plaid suit crypt of yours to dig this one out.

Mo'nique and her husband Sidney look like they are having fun.  Well...he was.

Nelly reconnected with Kelly Rowland.  Awww the "Dilemma" days...

Nice to see Birdman out with Reginae Carter and his whole family.

Swizz Beatz, Rick Ross and Diddy chucked deuces to the camera.

And the gorgeous Keri Hilson was in attendance.  Nice makeup.  The hair is growing on me as well.
