Meet The Mini-Cast Of ‘Glee’

Posted: 15 Nov 2010 01:24 PM PST

Tomorrow’s episode of Glee titled The Substitute will feature a guest appearance by actress Gwyneth Paltrow in the role of substitute teacher Holly Holliday (who sings a pretty decent version of the Cee-Lo song Forget You, btw) but she isn’t the only new face that will appear on the ep. During a hallucination scene, the cast of Glee suddenly turns into wee little kiddies … and here is our first look at the mini-cast of Glee:

A.Dor.Able. After the jump, check out the video in full to find out exactly how these little kids will be featured in tomorrow’s ep and see some behind the scenes footage that is just the cutest thing you’ll see all day …

What a cute idea … I was so amped to see tomorrow night’s ep of Glee before but now I’m really excited. These kids are just so cute … I can’t wait to see them all in action. I think mini-Puck is the cutest little dude … so, I gotta ask … which one of these kids is your fave?

Janet Jackson Does ‘Health’ Magazine

Posted: 15 Nov 2010 12:57 PM PST

The stunningly beautiful Janet Jackson is featured on the cover of the new issue of Health magazine. In her accompanying coverstory interview, Janet talks about the insecurities forced upon her at a young age, her passion for acting over singing and her long history with colonics … I mean, it is Health magazine, after all. Here is our first look at Janet‘s amazing coverphoto and some excerpts from her interview:

On having her body criticized as a kid: "When I did Good Times, they used to bind my chest because I was developing breasts at a young age… It immediately makes you think, 'The way I am isn't good enough.' They thought I was too heavy and that I needed to lose weight. When I look back at the show, I was your average-size kid."

On choosing between acting and singing: "I have more of a passion for acting than I do singing, because singing comes so much easier to me. Acting is more of a challenge. I always say to people, 'I'm really in the wrong business because I don't like being in front of huge crowds, and I don't like it when a lot of people are looking at me.'"

On Hollywood's obsession with weight: People tend to put entertainers on pedestals. We're human beings, just like you… whether we have money or not, we still have bills to pay, we still have our stresses."

On getting colonics at age 11: "Once a month my mother would drive us to downtown L.A [for the procedure]. That played a big part in my life and career, because I learned at a very young age what discipline truly meant, to be able to pass up the French fries and the piece of candy."

Yeah, I can really do without the colonics talk but, again, I guess Health magazine has to throw in some stuff like that. Janet looks so dang hot on the cover, I can’t even deal. I love how down to Earth she appears to be … hard working, talented. This feature in Health magazine is fantastic. She looks great, don’t she?

David Beckham Skateboards With His Sons

Posted: 15 Nov 2010 12:15 PM PST

Last week we saw cute photos of little Cruz David Beckham shredding on his skateboard at a skate park here in SoCal while his nervous mother Victoria Beckham watched from the back seat of her chauffeured car. This weekend, the Beckham boys went back to the skate park but this time they were accompanied by daddy David Beckham … who opted out of watching from afar and joined his sons on a skateboard of his own:

How much do you LOVE that Becks wanted in on the fun so he decided to skateboard with his sons? How much do you love how he’s showing off Dat Ass while he does so? Woot! As you may recall, Becks and the boys also spent part of their weekend painting ceramics together so it looks like it was another fun-filled couple of days for the Beckham men. I understand that mama Vicki B. is due back home this week … it’s a shame she had to be away and missed all the fun.

Family BBQ

Posted: 15 Nov 2010 12:01 PM PST

Yesterday was a fairly quiet day around here … I spent much of the day relaxing at home while David and his college BFF Diana went shopping all over town. I met up with them after they finished their little outing and we all met up with Josh and Darion for a fun dinner at Gobi Mongolian BBQ in Silverlake, CA:

While I must admit that Gobi isn’t quite as good as my beloved BD’s Mongolian BBQ back home in Detroit, it was a pretty passable runner-up. We all had a great time together.

Tonight, I’m planning to check out Tom Lenk‘s new one-man show at the Comedy Central Theater here in LA … I’m so excited!!

Happy Monday and Happy Week ahead!!

‘Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark’ Does ‘Vogue’ Magazine

Posted: 15 Nov 2010 10:38 AM PST

Despite the fact that the Broadway show has been delayed a few weeks due to safety concerns, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark is STILL coming to Broadway and it is featured in the new issue of Vogue magazine. As you may know, Turn Off the Dark is directed by the amazingly talented Julie Taymor and features original music created by U2‘s Bono. Here is our first look at the lavish photoshoot, shot by Annie Leibovitz, that the cast of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark did for Vogue magazine:

The world's most famous webslinger is facing his scariest adversaries yet—New York theater critics and audiences—as Julie Taymor's long-delayed rock musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, with songs by U2's Bono and the Edge, finally drops in on Broadway in January. On a fall afternoon shortly before the start of previews, the many thousand moving parts of the $60 million production—already infamous as the most expensive of all time—are still syncing up inside the newly renamed Foxwoods Theatre (no gambling jokes, please) on Forty-second Street. In one rehearsal room, the Edge is listening to vocal arrangements. In another, the choreographer Daniel Ezralow, a Momix founder and frequent Taymor collaborator, is working with a group of arachno–chorus girls, who, requiring eight stiletto heels each, could be described as unusually leggy. Onstage, Spider-Man (Reeve Carney) and the Green Goblin (Patrick Page) duke it out on the roof of set designer George Tsypin's pop-up Roy Lichtenstein–meets–Cabinet of Dr. Caligari Chrysler Building as Mary Jane Watson (Jennifer Damiano), trussed in a harness courtesy of the aerial-rigging designer Jaque Paquin, dangles fetchingly from a stone gargoyle. In the middle of it all, wearing a headset microphone, sits Taymor, back on Broadway following her 1997 triumph with The Lion King. Slim and snub-nosed, the 58-year-old director still exudes the passion and precocity of the bohemian enfant terrible who burst on the scene in the early eighties with visually stunning pieces rooted in the rituals of Asian theater—masks, puppets, dance—and the power of mythology. And though she hasn't exactly been letting the savanna grass grow under her feet since The Lion King (her acclaimed Metropolitan Opera production of The Magic Flute and her new film adaptation of The Tempest open this month), it is that show, a marriage of avant-garde stage wizardry and Disney schmaltz, that remains her signal achievement. Instead of trying to reproduce the movie, Taymor took the bold step of transforming it into a purely theatrical experience, creating magic by exposing all her tricks—those giraffes were clearly actors on stilts—and inviting audiences to take an imaginative leap.

There are so many things about this Broadway production that make me worry that it is going to be a terrible bomb … but the one, over-riding thing that gives me hope that it will instead be a huge smash is that Julie Taymor is at the helm. Her mastery at bringing animated film The Lion King to life still astounds me … but, it should be noted, she was aided greatly by the fact that her show was based on a well-written movie with well-written music. This new Spider-Man show is an entirely new creation … but, again, my faith in Taymor overrides my fears of the show’s failure. It is a bit disconcerting that the show’s opening had to be postponed due to safety concerns but if they are able to pull off the acrobatic tricks they’ve got planned for the show, then Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark can be a massive smash it. But … I’m digressing. After the jump, check out a couple photos from the Spider-Man feature in the new issue of Vogue magazine to see what lavishness may be featured in the show itself …

These photos are beautiful and they do get me excited to see the show. Since the opening has been pushed back to January 2011, we’re gonna have to wait a bit longer to see Spider-Man make his Broadway debut … but I’m still definitely interested. What do y’all think … are you excited and/or planning to see Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark when it eventually makes it’s Broadway debut?

Britney Spears Goes Toy Shopping With Jayden James

Posted: 15 Nov 2010 09:57 AM PST

Yesterday we saw a couple of cute photos of mama Britney Spears enjoying a fun frogurt date with her eldest son Sean Preston. For whatever reason, Britney‘s youngest son was not in attendance on the frogurt date … but that does NOT mean that he was left out. Here are a couple new photos of Britney with her youngest son Jayden James as they made their way to Toys ‘R’ Us for a fun toy shopping trip together:

I understand that Britney and JJ then made their way to Menchie’s in Calabasas, CA for a frozen yogurt date of their own. Despite the fact that Britney was hard at work recording tracks for her new album this weekend, she still made time to be with her kids. See, even Living Legends can take time out of their bizzy schedules to go on frogurt dates with their kids :)

Lindsay Lohan Poses For Kira Plastinina

Posted: 15 Nov 2010 09:40 AM PST

Yesterday we saw a photo of the currently rehabbing Lindsay Lohan out and about on the streets of West Hollywood, CA many miles away from the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, CA where she’s supposed to be cleaning up her act. Lindsay was given permission by Betty Ford to return home to LA for a day — unchaperoned — due to her “good behavior”. On her way back to rehab yesterday, Lindsay made a pit stop in Palm Springs, CA to do a professional photoshoot for the design house Kira Plastinina:

It may be Sunday, but it’s a work day for Lindsay Lohan — she’s getting set to do a fashion shoot this afternoon … TMZ has learned. As we first reported, Lindsay has the blessing of Betty Ford to do a one-day photo shoot. Sources tell us that shoot will go down today … not too far from the Betty Ford Center. We’re told the shoot is for a Russian-based clothing line called Kira Plastinina and we’ve been told the pics will end up in a major magazine. Sources tell us Lindsay will get paid for the gig, though it is unclear how much.

HMMM. Not only is Lindsay enjoying day passes away from rehab and permission to work on professional photoshoots but she’s also lobbying to be allowed to leave the State of California so that she can spend the holidays at home with her mother and siblings in Long Island, NY:

Lindsay Lohan has been given the green light by Betty Ford to venture around Southern California — but we’ve learned Lindsay is going to try and extend that freedom … all the way to the Big Apple. Sources close to Lohan tell TMZ LiLo really wants to go home for the holidays, so she’ll ask Betty Ford for the okay. If they give her permission, we’re told Lindsay will try and spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with the family back in Long Island. We’re told Lindsay is “completely committed” to her treatment and if Betty Ford nixes her holiday plans … she’s ok with it. So far, nothing’s been decided.

Now, this is just ridiculous. I can’t even believe this is a consideration. Just because she’ll ask for permission to go to NY doesn’t mean she’ll get it … but considering all the fun things she’s been allowed to do thus far, I won’t be at all surprised if they let her go. Shoot, they should just let her go home for good … I mean, if she promises to be good and stay out of trouble, well, they should just let her go. What a joke.

Scarlett Johansson Does ‘GQ’ Magazine

Posted: 15 Nov 2010 09:10 AM PST

Scarlett Johansson, who hosted this weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live (to not much hilarity, IMHO), is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of GQ magazine. ScarJo graces the cover of GQ because she has been dubbed by the mag as the Babe of the Year:

“At 26, she remains fresh-faced, curious, trying on new moods and outlets of expression as easily as she changes her hair color. This is what we love about Scarlett: that she’s game, that she’s good, that she can try on all these guises without seeming to try too hard. And all the while still seem genuinely like the observant, inquisitive (and very cute) girl in transition we fell for in Lost in Translation.”

You gotta love that Scarlett is able to score a magazine cover and title like this despite the fact that she doesn’t really have any projects to promote right now. The last thing that I can think of her starring in is Iron Man 2, which came out last Spring. The fact that this little GQ blurb has to mention her film Lost In Translation, which came out 7 years ago, is also a bit comical. But, ScarJo is deffo a babe and to GQ she is the Babe of the Year. After the jump, check out a few photos from Scarlett‘s GQ photospread …

Scarlett is hot, no question … hubby Ryan Reynolds is a lucky man. I suppose congratulations are in order as are salutes to GQ magazine’s Babe of the Year! All hail!

Jessica Simpson Shows Of Her Engagement Bling

Posted: 15 Nov 2010 08:33 AM PST

Yesterday we learned the happy and somewhat surprising news that Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson — her *just divorced* boyfriend of about 6 months — have gotten themselves engaged to be married. Today, we get our first look at Jessica‘s sparkly new engagement bling which she happily showed off at an in-store appearance at a Dillard’s department store in Overland Park, KS over the weekend … behold:

Jessica Simpson showed off her brand new Neil Lane engagement ring at Dillard’s department store in Kansas City on Saturday as she was promoting her clothing line. Her boyfriend of five months, Eric Johnson, proposed to Simpson with a three-stone ring that features a central ruby flanked by two diamonds. “She was in a really good mood,” an eyewitness at the store tells PEOPLE. “She was very friendly and sweet. She signed autographs and seemed to have a great time.” Only a few weeks ago, the singer, 30, gushed about her beau, 31, to PEOPLE – but didn’t want to “jinx” their relationship. “He’s the one for me right now!” she said. “I’m very happy! I’m in a great place, and if right now could last forever, I’d take it.”

While I still think it’s a bit too soon for Jessica and Eric to be getting married (especially since he’s only been divorced from his wife for a couple of months and the couple have only been dating for half a year), I do wish them all the happiness and luck in the world! Every couple is different and if they feel ready for marriage then more power to them. I just hope, for Jessica‘s sake, that she is not rushing into anything too quickly … with her track record for heartbreak, I’d hate for her to have to endure another painful break-up. Let’s send the happy couple all the congrats in the world … and wish them a very happily ever after.

President Bill Clinton Films A Cameo For ‘The Hangover 2’

Posted: 15 Nov 2010 07:52 AM PST

President Bill Clinton, who was in Thailand over the weekend to speak at a clean energy event, decided to film a cameo for the upcoming sequel film The Hangover 2. As you may recall, Mel Gibson was supposed to make a cameo in the film before he got dropped and replaced by Liam Neeson. It’s unclear if President Clinton was originally planned to appear in the sequel but Hangover 2 producers hit the jackpot when he agreed to appear in their film:

Mel Gibson was persona non grata on “The Hangover 2″ set … but not so with Former President Bill Clinton, whom TMZ has now confirmed just shot a cameo. [Clinton] was spotted on the set in Thailand [Saturday] where we’re told extra security was added for his presence. Our spies say they saw Bill walk on the set and were told by crew members he was filming a cameo. None of the people we spoke too, however, saw Bill actually step in front of the camera. Although some people associated with the flick have told us Bill just “hung out,” we’ve now confirmed he did indeed shoot a cameo.

Bill is my homeboy and I kinda LOVE that he decided to make a cameo in the film. To be honest, I’m actually very surprised that President Clinton would even deign the notion of appearing in a raunchy comedy but I guess even former presidents like to have fun and shake things up once in a while. I have to say, it sounds a lot like Clinton‘s cameo appearance was a last minute, spur-of-the-moment thing. I can’t imagine that his appearance was discussed and planned … I also can’t imagine that Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, Bill‘s wife, thinks this is a good idea but, then again, who knows. Now I’m really curious to see The Hangover 2 … aren’t you?

First Listen: Michael Jackson, ‘Hold My Hand’

Posted: 15 Nov 2010 07:24 AM PST

Two weeks ago we got our first listen to Breaking News, the first song teased from the new posthumous album of new material to be released by the late Michael Jackson next month and today we get to hear another track from the album titled Michael. Hold My Hand is a duet featuring Akon and it is being released as the official first single from MJ‘s new album … here is the artwork for the single:

Now, this Hold My Hand song has been leaked previously so some of us have heard it before … but Akon has fully produced the track for inclusion on the album so this version might sound a bit different from the leaked version that hit the Internets last year. After the jump, get your first listen to Hold My Hand (Featuring Akon) in full …

Click HERE to stream the song at MichaelJackson.com should the above embed not work for you. IMHO, this song sounds much better than the Breaking News song we heard a couple of weeks ago. It’s very clear that Michael Jackson is singing on this track (tho, I suspect his vocals have been beefed up or added to in certain parts of the song) and it sounds very much like an Akon collaboration (“Akon and MJ”). I think this song will satisfy MJ fans much more than the release of Breaking News did. Hold My Hand, Breaking News and the rest of the tracks featured on Michael will be released together on December 14. So … what do y’all think of this track? Do you think it’s a worthy Michael Jackson single?
