Photographer Mariel Clayton Explores The Dark Side Of Barbie

You know how fictional character Dexter Morgan has a nice, good guy face that he shows to the public but deep down he’s really a brutal killer with an insatiable thirst for the blood of the guilty? Yeah, well apparently Barbie (the doll) has that same blood-thirst … at least, according to photographer Mariel Clayton. Clayton has photographed a series of scenes that feature Barbie doing things that you’re prolly not used to seeing her do. Be warned, some of the images are disturbing … but, IMHO, they’re also extremely interesting.


Wow, right? I’m certain there will be some people offended by some of this imagery but I deffo appreciate what the artist is going for. That being said, there is a fairly graphic photo of Barbie after she endured a wire hanger abortion that even I didn’t feel like sharing here on my blog. Even still, the image of Barbie that we have all grown up with is completely turned on its ear with these photos. What do y’all think of these photos (as well as the rest of the photos that you can see at Mariel Clayton‘s official website HERE) … do you find these interesting? Intriguing? Outrageous? Wrong?

First Look: ‘The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills’ Reunion Special

Bravo TV has released the first preview video footage from the filming of the reunion special for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and OMFG does it look AMAZING! Drama, thy name is Housewife and judging by just this preview video alone, I cannot WAIT to see the ladies go at it face to face, head to head.

From shopping sprees on Rodeo Drive to flying on private jets, the ladies of Bravo's "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" certainly showed how to live it up in the most famous zip code in the world. But it wasn't all glitz and glamour for these ladies. They also dealt with deep-rooted family drama and marriages falling apart at the seams all while trying to maintain the perfect Beverly Hills lifestyle. On Thursday, January 27 at 9pm ET/PT join Bravo's Andy Cohen as he brings Taylor Armstrong, Camille Grammer, Adrienne Maloof , Kim Richards, Kyle Richards and Lisa Vanderpump together for "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Reunion Special." The ladies set the record straight on some of the most talked-about moments of the season – including Camille being called "the most hated housewife" in the history of the franchise as well as details on her split from Kelsey. In the Part II of the reunion, the Husbands of Beverly Hills join Andy Cohen and the ladies for some laughs, some tears and a lot more drama – and the Richards sisters finally discuss the history behind their brutal fight that ended the season. LOOOOOOVE THIS!!! Ugh, Camille Grammer — ever the victim! I love that Kyle Richards called her lame ass out for using the “buzzword” of the moment. I never ONCE thought that Kyle bullied Camille … in fact, Camille and her goony friends are the bullies who ganged up on Kyle at that horrid dinner party. And Kim Richards has a drinking problem? HOLY SHIZZ! All of her weird behavior totally makes sense now. Do you think that Lisa Vanderpump‘s husband was talking about “permanent houseguest” Cedric Martinez in his rant? Perhaps that’s the reason the Vanderpumps decided to throw his ass out on the street? Lord have Mercy, I cannot WAIT to see this reunion special. We have one more regular ep of the show to go (this Thursday night) and then THE REUNION! Bring it on, I can’t WAIT!

Amy Adams & Jason Segel Film Fun New Scenes For The New Muppets Movie

In early December we got to see the first photos of actor Jason Segel filming scenes with The Muppets on the SoCal set of their new film The Greatest Muppet Movie Ever Made. Today we get to see new photos of Segel and his Muppets friends on set but this time they are joined by actress Amy Adams … and a carefully choreographed dance number.


Yay!! A musical number! How much am I LOVING the way this Muppets movie is turning out :D That being said, I thank my lucky stars that I’m not a little kid with access to the Internets because I would be MORTIFIED by the sight of a grown man with his arm stuck up inside Kermit the Frog‘s body like this. I know I mention it all the time but, damn, I’ll never get used to seeing Muppets as actual puppets. While I miss the kinder, gentler, MUCH LESS spoilery days pre-Internet, as an adult I am happy that we get to follow the progress of films like this being made. I am really excited for this film … I can’t wait!!

Ricky Gervais Is All Smiles In NYC

In the wake of the RIDICULOUS controversy that sprung up in the wake of Ricky Gervais‘s BRILLIANT hosting job at the 2011 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night, Ricky was spotted weathering the storm (if you will) on the streets of NYC lookin’ about as happy as can be. Clearly, he is not letting the hubbub bring him down.


Despite all the claims that Gervais is “dead” in Hollywood and that he’ll “never work again” or be honored by the Hollywood Foreign Press, it appears that Ricky is not letting any of that bullshizz affect him at all. Without question, this year’s Golden Globe Awards show was the most entertaining in recent memory and even if the celebs in attendance didn’t appreciate his humor, the viewing audience did. My guess is that the Hollywood bigwigs want to puff out their chests for a bit to whip up controversy … and then this will all die down and go away. I think Ricky Gervais will be just fine here in Hollywood … but something tells me that even if he’s not, he don’t give a good damn either way. You rule, Ricky … never change.

The Spider-Man Reboot Films In The Streets Of SoCal

A couple weeks ago we got our first look at Andrew Garfield in costume as Peter Parker on the SoCal set of the as-yet untitled Spider-Man reboot film and just last week we got to see him all gussied up in the iconic red and blue Spider-Man costume. Today we get to see a new photo from the set of the Spider-Man reboot that was snapped by a fan and uploaded to the Internets … er, Interwebs.

No, that’s not a rogue Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark performer running for his life thru traffic as he tries to make an escape from the clutches of the troubled Broadway musical, it’s a stuntman filming an action scene here in LA for the Spider-Man reboot film:

As we reported yesterday, The Spider-Man Reboot was filming on Grand Ave, outside of the Museum of Contemporary Art, in Los Angeles last night. One of our readers, Alex, sent us this great picture of Spidey running across the street and through "New York" traffic for the scene. His friend was able to catch the shot from his nearby apartment around 11 p.m. last night! Our friends over at The Daily Blam also scored a few photos taken around the set yesterday before the shoot actually started, including this Daily Bugle van.

I love this kind of shizz. You may be surprised to learn that even tho I live in LA, I don’t EVER get to see things like this being filmed … ever. My friends in Detroit run into more Hollywood productions being filmed back in Michigan then I do here in SoCal. I would LOVE to see something like this being filmed live. I’m gonna hafta keep my peepers peeped in the hopes of running into Spider-Man running in the streets of LA ;) Cool photos, right?

Britney Spears & Jason Trawick Pay A Visit To Rite-Aid

Britney Spears, who just announced that visionary music video director Jonas Åkerlund will be directing her music video for her hit single Hold It Against Me, was spotted out and about earlier today with her beau Jason Trawick. The couple kept things nice and normal with a run-of-the-mill shopping trip to Rite-Aid Pharmacy.


Despite the fact that our dear Britney looks HOT in these photos (she does for real, even haters can’t deny), there isn’t really anything all that exciting about this particular outing … well, except to me. You see, my first real job working a 9 to 5 (which was actually 2 to 10, ick) was for Rite-Aid Pharmacy (after it bought out the Perry Drugs company in Michigan). I can’t even tell you how many hours I spent slaving away in my blue smock and my Hi, My Name is Trent name-tag at that thankless job. It’s a shame I didn’t work at Rite-Aid Pharmacy here in SoCal (er, it’s also a shame that I’m no longer 16 years old) cuz the mere sight of Britney Spears shopping in my store would’ve made that horrendous job worthwhile. So, dear readers, you’ll forgive me if I live vicariously thru the fantasy of me running into our dear Britney at Rite-Aid. Yeah. Oh and she does look really damn good, right?

‘X-Men: First Class’ Releases A First Promo Photo

Back in October we got our first look at filming production on the set of the upcoming prequel superhero film X-Men: First Class. Today we get our first look at the FIRST promo photo released from the film which features the X-Men characters that star in the film. The photo isn’t high res and, to be honest, it doesn’t look very impressive as far as promo photos go … but it does give us a pretty good look at the X-Men that will be featured in the coming film.

The shadows are all over the place. It looks like it was flung together in photoshop in 5 minutes. BUT, I do like the costumes and the cast look pretty good as their respective characters. I’m disappointed that this is the first thing Fox chose to show us from the film, but I remain optimistic. From left to right: Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Rose Byrne as Moira MacTaggert, January Jones as Emma Frost, Jason Flemyng as Azazel, Nicholas Hoult as Beast, Lucas Till as Havok, Zoe Kravitz as Angel, Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique and James McAvoy as Professor Charles Xavier.

I agree, the Photoshopping looks amateur to say the least … but I, too, remain hopeful that this film will turn out a’ight. With Matthew Vaughn at the helm of a script by Bryan Singer, X-Men: First Class has a chance at greatness. They did an excellent job with casting so … yeah, I’m optimistic. What do y’all think of this new batch of “old” X-Men? Are you impressed?

Wax Trax

Last night David and I had a dinner date with Jordan (who we haven’t seen in an ice age) and our dear friend Adriana came along with us. AY met us at our place then we drove over to Night + Market on Sunset Blvd. to meet Jordan for dinner. Night + Market has become David’s favorite eatery so we were happy to introduce the place to Adriana and Jordan.


We pretty much ate everything in sight … but this poor, delicious fish didn’t stand a chance. MMMM.

After dinner, we returned to our place to listen to a few records … I decided to spin 3 of my all time favorite records — Under the Pink by Tori Amos, The Doors by The Doors and Beauty and the Beat by The Go Gos:


As you an prolly tell, I’ve been LOVING the Hell out of my new record player. Wee!!

Tonight I have tix to see Jay Brannan in concert at The Roxy so I’m excited to see him play. The weather is 75 and Sunny here in SoCal. Happy, Happy Day :D

Jennifer Aniston is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Allure magazine and homegirl is gettin’ a lot of attention today due to her comments in her Allure interview about her famous haircut called The Rachel from her days on Friends. In new comments making the Internet rounds today, Jen confesses that she believes the The Rachel haircut to be the “ugliest haircut” she’s ever seen.

There was a time in the mid-1990s when women besieged salons with photos of the US actress to copy her style. The layered cut was given the name “The Rachel” after Aniston’s character in the hit US TV comedy series, Rachel Green. She wore the style in the show’s first and second seasons. One person who was not a fan of the haircut, however, was Jennifer herself. Aniston, now 41, told the February issue of US magazine Allure it was not her best look. Aniston’s long-time hairstylist Chris McMillan came up with the cut. He still works with her today. “I love Chris but he’s the bane of my existence because he started that damn ‘Rachel’, which was not my best look,” she said. “How do I say this? I think it was the ugliest haircut I’ve ever seen,” she says. “What I really want to know is, how did that thing have legs?”

LOL!! It’s quite possible that Jennifer Aniston would never have reached the heights of 90′s celebrity had it not been for that “ugly” haircut. In truth, all of the Friends actors were riding high on the success of the show … but Jennifer Aniston really stood apart in her own realm of celebrity due to The Rachel haircut. I mean, she prolly nabbed hubby Brad Pitt because of it … er, and now I think I understand why she prolly hates the damn thing. Ah well. New Promo Photos Of Thor & Captain America Have Been Released

Last month we got our first look at the new teaser movie poster for the upcoming Marvel Comics film Thor and just last week we got our first look at a new promo image of actor Chris Evans in costume as Captain America for his new film Captain America: The First Avenger. Today we get to see 2 new promo images from the films … one of Chris Hemsworth as Thor and another of Chris Evans in costume as Capt. America.


Hemsworth makes a worthy-looking Thor but I’m SO not cool with Evans in this Captain America costume. I am hoping that this World War II era Capt. America costume will only be featured for some of the film before it gets replaced by a more streamlined and cool-looking costume. The bulk of this costume is just … wrong … and I HATE the helmet. It’s still too soon to tell, tho. We will get a very good look at this costume in action when the first movie trailer for the film gets released. I guess we should reserve final judgment until we see this thing in action but … ugh, I’m worried.

Ryan Phillippe & Amanda Seyfried Go Public With Their Lurve

For the past few weeks I’ve been hearing about how Ryan Phillippe and Amanda Seyfried have been gettin’ hot and heavy together as Hollywood’s new couple but the pair have managed to keep their coupling under wraps … until now. Ryan and Amanda were spotted together at Fred Segal in West Hollywood, CA yesterday for the first time. It would appear that they are ready for the world to see them together together.

They got close at Kate Hudson’s Halloween bash last year, but Amanda Seyfried and Ryan Phillippe are proving they’re more than just party pals. The low-key pair have been spending time together over the past few months and appear to be getting more serious about their relationship. “They’re really into each other,” says a source. “They’re a really good match and just enjoying it all right now.” On Thursday [January 6], Phillippe, 36, stopped by to see Seyfried, 26, on the set of her new film, Now. After enjoying a bite to eat the two took a break and went for a walk. The next day, they shared a late morning breakfast with pals at the Los Angeles restaurant Joan’s On Third. Sitting next to one another, “They were really cute,” says an onlooker. “The two of them smiled the whole time.”

So … the pair have been creepin’ for a few months now … excellent. I have to say, I really like this pairing. Amanda Seyfried is supercute and Ryan Phillippe is superhot … they’re perfect for one another. It’s a big step for these to be going public like this because we all know how fiercely private Ryan is about his private life. The guy has had some bad luck in the romance department so here’s hoping that this relationship with Amanda works out. I think they look great together … here’s hoping we get to see more of them out and about soon.

Alicia Silverstone Takes Her Baby Bump Out For A Walk

Last Saturday we got our first look at Alicia Silverstone‘s new baby bump but today we really get a GOOD LOOK at her growing belly. Alicia and BFF Leisha Hailey (The L Word) were spotted enjoying the LOVELY SoCal weather this week as the pair went for a leisurely stroll. As you can see in the photos below, Alicia was happily stroking her burgeoning baby bump all the while.


It’s so big, I love it! OMG … I’m still really excited by the news that Cher Horowitz from Clueless is going to be a MOM! LOVE LOVE LOVE it. She looks fantastic … I just love her ;) Wee!!

Regis Philbin Announces His Retirement

Regis Philbin surprised fans of the long-running morning TV talk show Live with Regis & Kelly this morning by opening the show with his announcement that he is retiring from broadcast television after nearly 28 years on the air. According to Philbin himself, this will be his final season on air and he will officially go into retirement at the end of this television season.

Veteran broadcaster Regis Philbin announced today that he will be retiring from the weekday talk show “Live With Regis and Kelly” after nearly 28 years. Philbin broke the news this morning at the top of his show. “This will be my last year on this show,” Philbin said. “It was the biggest thrill of my life….There is a time that everything must come to an end for certain people on camera, especially certain old people.” Philbin said he would be stepping down from the show “at the end of the summer into the fall, whatever it is,” but didn’t specify a departure date. Though he’s departing, the “Live” franchise will continue: The Disney-ABC Television Group plans to name a new personality to join Kelly Ripa, who has co-hosted the show for nearly ten years. Philbin, 79, has been a television personality since the 1950s. After beginning his TV career in Los Angeles, Philbin moved to New York City and WABC-TV in 1983. Kathie Lee Gifford joined him there in June 1985 and in September 1988, their AM entertainment hour debuted in national syndication. Its title was changed from “The Morning Show” to “Live with Regis & Kathie Lee.” Often called the “hardest working man in show business,” Philbin set a Guinness World Record for most hours on camera with his Aug. 20, 2004 “Live” show, which gave him a total of 15,188 hours on television. In 2006, his record was updated to 15,662 hours. In addition to “Live,” Philbin is famous for formerly hosting the ABC game show “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,” the CBS game show “Million Dollar Password,” and the NBC competition show “America’s Got Talent.”

You may recall that Regis took some time off from Live with Regis & Kelly last year to undergo a medical procedure to have a blood clot removed from his leg. I mean, after 28 years at the same job … I can understand the desire to let it go and just relax. Here is video of the retirement announcement that Regis made earlier today:


And there you have it. I don’t expect that this retirement will mean that we’ll never see the man again … he’s leaving Live with Regis & Kelly but that doesn’t mean he can host game shows, etc. to his heart’s content. I say, good for him! If anyone deserves a bit of rest, it’s the “hardest working man in show buisness”. Good on ya, Regis and Happy Trails!!

Britney Spears Announces That Jonas Åkerlund Will Direct Her New Music Video

Our dear Britney Spears announced on her official Twitter profile the person selected to direct her EPIC new music video for her monster smash hit song Hold It Against Me. Britney decided to hire the director who previously created music videos for Madonna (Ray of Light, Music, American Life, Jump, Celebration), Christina Aguilera (Beautiful), Lady Gaga (Telephone with Beyoncé) and more! Now, Jonas Åkerlund will create a new music video for Britney Spears.


Fantastic, fantastic news! Åkerlund is among the most visionary music video directors around and I am quite pleased to know that he will lend his talents to Britney‘s new music video. I’ve been impressed with his work over the years and always love his collaborations with Madonna. If the music video is being filmed this week then we are still a few weeks (at least) away from the video’s debut. OY! I hate f*ckin waitin’!!


But, for our dear Britney Spears, I’d wait forever … hopefully we won’t have to actually wait that long ;) Britney Spears + Jonas Åkerlund = EPIC OF EPICS. I. Can’t. Wait!

‘Vogue’ Magazine Releases New Kristen Stewart Photos

Last Friday we got our first look at Twilight star Kristen Stewart on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Vogue magazine and today we get to see a batch of photos, shot by Mario Testino, from K. Stew‘s Vogue photospread feature:

Kristen Stewart's body can tell a million stories. Kinetic, she jiggles, feints, and darts as she talks, hanging back, looking off to the side, signaling resistance, a combative intelligence. "The word I always use for her is vulpine," says Jake Scott, who recently directed her in Welcome to the Rileys, in which she plays a teenage runaway and lap dancer. "Foxlike. She's got that way of moving and being that you often find in her performances, a sort of wiliness" … For Bill Condon, currently ensconced in a year's worth of filming for Breaking Dawn, the two-part finale of the mighty Twilight Saga, "Kristen was at the top of my list of reasons to do this movie."

The full online version of Kristen‘s Vogue interview can be read HERE but for me, the interesting thing about this magazine feature is the photospread. I really love photos of Stewart when she’s done up and glammed out. But these photos are fairly understated yet extremely classy. IMHO, these photos make up the best feature magazine photos of her that I’ve seen yet. Take a look at these new Vogue photos below and let me know what you think. She just looks so pretty, it’s a very nice look on her.

Elton John & David Furnish Show Off Their Newborn Baby On The Cover Of 2 Magazines

Just a couple days before the end of 2010, we learned that long-time partners Elton John and David Furnish welcomed the birth of their very own son — Zachary Jackson Levon — who was born via surrogate mother on Xmas Day. Today we get our FIRST look at the little guy on the covers of two major magazines … US Weekly magazine here in the US and OK! magazine in the UK.

From US Weekly: In the new issue of Us Weekly (out Wednesday), Sir Elton John and David Furnish share first-ever photos of their beautiful baby son, who was born on Christmas Day. In an exclusive interview, just ten days after Zachary’s birth, the couple invited Us Weekly inside their Los Angeles home to share their remarkable journey. John, 63, and Furnish, 48, speak candidly about the birth of their first child. “I’ve never felt anything like it in my life,” the music legend tells Us of holding their son for the first time. “You’re so awestruck. What can you say? You take it in. The feeling, the joy, the warmth of his body, his breathing…I will never forget that experience ever.” Adds film producer Furnish: “He’s a content little guy…He just loves to be nurtured, cuddled, and sung to.”

From OK!: Proud parents Sir Elton John and David Furnish invite you into their LA home to meet their new arrival, baby Zachary Jackson Levon. The 63-year-old music legend and his partner, film director and producer, David explain their joy following the Christmas Day birth and the heartbreak after trying to adopt two Ukranian orphans. Speaking about holding Zachary for the first time, Elton says: “I’ve never felt anything like it in my life. You’re so awestruck, I will never forget that feeling ever.” Elton and David also explain their parenting philosophy. Elton says: “I’m ready to have a child and lavish my love on our son and not spoil him materially.” The road to fatherhood has not been easy and the pair were heartbroken in 2009 after trying to adopt a 14-month Ukrainian orphan named Lev and his three-year-old HIV positive brother, Artyom. Despite failing to adopt the two children the couple want to do everything they can to find them a home. Elton says: “We’re still consulting about finding the best possible home for them.” David adds: “We feel awful. We keep hitting red tape. But we’re not giving up until they’re out and in a safe, supported home.”

What a cute little dude! I mean … c’mon, Zachary Jackson Levon is absolutely adorable and I’m certain he will enrich the lives of both of his parents (and they will enrich him, handsomely). Elton and David have decided to donate the money they were paid for these baby photos to their favorite charities, which makes me want to enjoy these photos all the more. So cute!!
