Elton John’s Newborn Son Gets His Own $1 Million Dollar Apartment

Last week we learned the happy news that Elton John and hubby David Furnish welcomed the birth of their baby son on Xmas Day and today we learn that the newborn baby is already living in the lap of luxury. As the child of extremely wealthy celebrity parents, it’s only natural that celeb babies would be pampered in luxury … but Zachary Jackson Levon is an especially lucky celebrity child. His parents have already given him a $1+ million dollar apartment of his very own. Now that’s posh, y’all.

Sir Elton John's new baby son Zachary is 'living like royalty' in his own £1.3million apartment adjoining the singer's exclusive Los Angeles pad. The Mail on Sunday has learned that Sir Elton, 63, and his partner David Furnish have appointed a top Hollywood interior designer to turn the flat beside their luxury home into a dream nursery. Although the work is not yet finished, several months after it started, eight-day-old Zachary is already installed there, and looked after by round-the-clock nannies. A New York television star who is a long-time friend of the couple said: 'Elton and David have wanted this baby for a long time. They bought their first apartment in 2007 and then the following year they bought the smaller one next door. Everyone originally thought they bought the smaller apartment because they wanted extra space, but then I found out they were trying to have a baby. They haven't said whether they have knocked the wall down between the two apartments but I must say at Elton's age, I wouldn't blame him if there is no adjoining door. Will he really want to be woken up at night by a screaming baby? From what I understand the baby and his nannies are living in one apartment and Elton and David are living in another.'

LOL. While I absolutely believe that Elton bought the apartment for his son, I highly doubt that the place is meant as a place to store the child away from his parents. Zachary Jackson Levon is a lucky kid … complete with his own apartment. Ugh … I hate that I’m already jealous of a newborn! OY!

Christina Aguilera Takes Matthew Rutler For A Quiet Lunch At The Ivy

A few days ago we saw photos of Christina Aguilera, her son Max Liron and her new boyfriend Matthew Rutler enjoying a bit of bonding time together. I’m hesitant to say they enjoyed “family time” together because they are not a family … but if things progress between Xtina and Matt, well, we may get to that. Over the weekend, the couple ditched the kid and made their way to The Ivy in West Hollywood, CA for lunch … and can you believe it, they were HOUNDED by a swarm of paparazzi … who always hang out at The Ivy.

Perhaps they WANTED to be seen. If not, Christina Aguilera and her new boyfriend chose the wrong restaurant for a pre-New Year’s Eve lunch date. The 30-year-old Burlesque star walked hand-in-hand with Matthew Rutler as they left the Ivy yesterday in West Hollywood. Wearing black leggings, cowboy boots, a camouflage jacket and sunglasses, Christina kept her head down as her burly bodyguard pushed through the throng of photographers, who gather daily outside the Hollywood hotspot. After filing for divorce from her husband earlier this year, she has been adjusting to life as a single mum. But that might not be for too much longer as Christina has introduced her new man to her two-year-old son Max, which could suggest things are getting serious for the new couple. The group enjoyed some quality family time together at The Petersen Automotive Museum. In fact, Matthew and Max seemed to hit it off as the group smiled and joked as they made their way home.

I mean … The Ivy? For real? The only reason celebrities ever go to The Ivy is to be photographed by the paparazzi … so I wonder what gives? The couple already get a lot of attention no matter where they go. Is it possible that Xtina is getting her new man used to the glaring spotlight of the public eye? I’d prolly be more interested in these two if they didn’t seem so desperate to be seen together. Something tells me we have many months ahead of this kinda of showy bullshizz to endure.

The University Of Oklahoma Sooners Win The 2011 Fiesta Bowl

Yesterday ended up being a recuperation day from the effects of our New Year’s Eve revelry so David and I spent most of the day at home. Actually, it worked out perfectly for me because I wanted to stay home to watch my beloved University of Oklahoma Sooners take on the University of Connecticut at the 2011 Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, CA. After winning the Big 12 Championship a few weeks ago, it was time for the Sooners to FINALLY bring home a Bowl Game win.

Watching film of their two previous, disastrous trips to the Fiesta Bowl back at the team hotel, Oklahoma’s players didn’t cringe, didn’t get that here-we-go-again feeling. The Sooners got mad and took it out on Connecticut, finally ending that BCS losing streak. Landry Jones and Ryan Broyles had record-setting games, Oklahoma’s defense scored two touchdowns while holding UConn’s offense without one, and the ninth-ranked Sooners ended their five-game BCS bowl losing streak with a 48-20 victory over Connecticut in the Fiesta Bowl on Saturday night. “Coming out here and winning a bowl game, especially a BCS bowl with our past and losing so many of them, to win one for the program, for Coach (Bob) Stoops and all those guys, it’s just a great feeling right now,” Jones said. “It motivated us. We came into the same situation a couple of times and came out with some losses, and to win a game after those, it’s just a great feeling.” Oklahoma (12-2) carried plenty of BCS baggage after losing three straight title games and two Fiesta Bowls. The Sooners avoided the setback six pack behind Jones, Broyles and a dominating defense. Showing he’s emerged from the shadow of Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford, Jones threw for a school bowl-record 429 yards – breaking his own record of 418 in last season’s Sun Bowl – and three touchdowns on 34-of-49 passing. Broyles, OU’s All-America receiver, set a team record with 170 yards receiving, matched another with 13 catches and had the put-it-out of reach touchdown, a tip-toeing 5-yarder midway through the fourth quarter. Jamell Fleming and Tony Jefferson each returned interceptions for scores and the defense made UConn scrap for everything it got, giving the Sooners their first Fiesta Bowl victory since beating Wyoming in 1976. “We have been through a whole lot – I feel like we deserve this,” Broyles said. “This was so important to get the monkey of our back” … Oklahoma followed a businesslike week with a similar approach in the game, jumping out to a 14-0 lead and withstanding a few mid-game mistakes to pull away for its first BCS bowl win in eight years. “I’m not going to sit here and act like we weren’t ready in some of these other games, but we were more healthy in this one and the guys really worked hard,” Stoops said. “This was a good win.”

Now, y’all know that I am not a big sports fan … but I love my Sooners and I was proud of them last night. The game was fun and I got to share it with my friend Mark back home in Detroit who was watching along with me while we txted back and forth. It may not have been the most exciting first day of the year but, again, it was a recuperation day. Not sure the plan for today yet. I’m hoping to get see friends tonight … we’ll have to see if they have yet recuperated from their revelry on New Year’s Eve.

Yesterday we learned that Shania Twain surprisingly married her new fiancee Frédéric Thiébaud on a beach in Rincon, Puerto Rico on New Year’s Day in front of 40 of the couple’s closest family and friends. Today we get to see video from the wedding ceremony that features Shania and Frédéric lovingly exchanging their vows to one another as a pistol-packing rotund bodyguard protects the perimeter of the ceremony from any looky-loos who happen to also be on the shared beach. How romantic!

Shania Twain didn’t exactly have a shotgun wedding yesterday in Puerto Rico … but it sure was a pistol — as in what the guards were packing on the beach during the ceremony. A guy who lives near the mansion where Twain tied the knot tells TMZ he stumbled upon the nuptials at the beach … and was quickly shooed away by several armed security guards. In the video you can see an a guard with a pistol tucked in his belt roaming back and forth while the ceremony goes on behind him. We’re told the security was so tight, if you wanted to walk past the wedding… you had to go into the ocean to get around.


Yeah … I totally get that a celebrity wedding like this needs security … but don’t you think the gun is a bit much? I mean, is it really possible that this flabby guy was gonna pull his gun and shoot someone if they dared get too near the couple? I mean … it’s possible but … no. Now that would’ve been a wedding video to see. Alas, Shania and Frédéric were wed without incident and without requiring anyone get shot so … it sounds like a lovely ceremony. Congrats again!!

Paris Hilton & Cy Waits Go Zip-Lining In Mexico

Paris Hilton and Cy Waits, who spend their Xmas holiday in Hawaii, have made their way to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico to celebrate the New Year and spent part of their holiday zip-lining thru the Mexican jungles. And before you ask, NO, the couple did not suffer a horrible accident where their zip-line snapped (or was cut) resulting in their immediate and gruesome deaths … they just had themselves a fun day of adventure.


To be honest, it looks like the happy couple had a lot of fun. Clearly, they’ve moved beyond their double drug bust in Las Vegas, NV back in 2010 … apparently, they are zip-lining together toward a hopeful new future … free of criminal prosecution. Considering how wealthy they are, you’d think they’d spend all of their time engaged in this kind of wholesome fun. Hopefully Paris has learned her lesson and she will successfully manage to make it thru 2011 without getting her ass into any trouble. She’s already successfully navigated the criminal-free waters for 2 days … can she make it thru the other 363 days of 2011?

Do The New Britney Spears ‘Radiance’ Commercials Feature New Britney Spears Music?

During the New Year’s Eve telecast of programming on MTV Friday night, the network aired a few promo commercials sponsored by the new Britney Spears fragrance Radiance that featured random people talking about New Year’s Eve, blah blah blah. What is interesting is that these commercials feature instrumental music that some are saying might be from Britney‘s as-yet-untitled new album. Could it be that these new videos give us our first listen to new Britney Spears music?


As you can see, Britney is NOT featured in any of these videos … and the only mention of her comes at the end of the clips where only the bottle of her new perfume is shown. BUT, it’s an interesting idea that the music that we are hearing in the background of these clips might be instrumental tracks of the songs that will be included on Britney‘s new album. Here are the promo clips, give them a listen:


Now … all of this is just based on conjecture, assumption and guesswork. The music featured in these clips could be nothing more than stock instrumental songs that come from nowhere … but it is relatively possible that Britney‘s people might choose to tease the album in a way that promotes her new fragrance. HMMMM? What do y’all think?

Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart Celebrate New Year’s Eve In The UK Together

Twilight co-stars and rumored lovebirds Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart rang in the new year this year on the Isle of Wight in the UK lookin’ very much the normal couple. Apparently the couple celebrated New Year’s Eve last year at a small pub called The Spyglass Inn and they must’ve REALLY loved it there because R. Pattz & K. Stew decided to spend New Year’s Eve this year at the very same place … much to the delight of the locals.

As other Hollywood celebs were living it up around the globe, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart opted for a low-key New Year's Eve and celebrated in a small pub on the Isle of Wight. The Hollywood couple shunned the glitz and glamour opting to ring in the New Year at The Spyglass Inn in Ventnor. Robert, 24, and Kristen, 20, enjoyed a night surrounded by friends, drinking, singing and posing for pictures with star-struck fans. The family pub, which sits on the Ventnor Esplanade, is a favourite haunt for the couple who celebrated New Year's Eve there last year. One onlooker told local reporters: 'We were hoping they would come back to the pub again this year and when they walked through the door no-one could quite believe it. 'They seemed like a really sweet, down to earth couple with no airs or graces. There was a live band playing and they were bopping along to the music and enjoying themselves. 'Robert looked as if he was drinking some sort of short and then they went out on to the seafront for a while. Robert was dressed in a black hooded jumper and leather jacket and wore a black hat. Kristen also rugged up in black, perhaps in an attempt to avoid attention and the couple’s relaxed attire mirrored the informal celebrations … The couple returned to the pub yesterday for New Year's Day lunch with a number of friends but were followed by photographers.

Aww … these two little raggamuffins … keepin’ it nice, normal and relatively quiet for New Year’s Eve. They’ve SO got the hipster thing down pat … they were made for one another, don’tcha think? BUT, K. Stew better watch her back cuz there’s another lady in Rob‘s life these days … and by the looks of how close they’ve gotten on the set of their new film Water for Elephants, Kristen may have some serious competition in the LURVE department. Awww … don’t they make an adorable couple? Rob plays a circus veterinarian in Water for Elephants and Rosie here is his #1 patient. Lindsay Lohan Turns Over A New Leaf

Perhaps in an effort to show the world that she is a changed person and is serious about starting over OR perhaps she wants to get some use out of the new Quote of the Day calendar she received for Xmas this year, Lindsay Lohan posted a message on her official Twitter profile claiming that yesterday — January 1, 2011 — is the start of a whole new life for her. L. Lo also posted a profound quote from Mahatma Ghandi. I think she’s changed, y’all.


In all seriousness, I am very hopeful that Lindsay is serious about turning over a new leaf. A new year brings new beginnings and January 1 is a great day psychologically to put the past behind you and move forward in a more positive direction. I am encouraged by Lindsay‘s own words, “Today is the first day of the rest of my life … One step at a time….” because it means that her head is in the right place. Tho it is less encouraging that the last tweet she posted on her official Twitter profile reads thusly:
