Queen Latifah: “I’ve never dealt with the question of my personal life in public”

Posted: 03 Jun 2012 08:22 AM PDT

Last month, we reported that Queen Latifah was scheduled to be the host of the Long Beach Gay & Lesbian Pride Parade. I speculated that Latifah's scheduled appearance might be her official "coming out". Although it's widely known that Latifah is gay, she's never confirmed it outright (she's never denied it either). Latifah had a long-term girlfriend named Jeanette for years and years, although I think Latifah and Jeanette are over, and I believe Latifah is now with a woman named Eboni Nichols. All of this speculation comes via the tabloids and gossip blogs – "legit" outlets like People Magazine would never report on Queen Latifah's sexuality unless she specifically confirmed or denied it.

Anyway, the Gay Pride parade went down on May 19, and although Latifah performed, she did not issue any kind of "I'm gay" statement. I'm actually surprised that Entertainment Weekly asked Latifah the question during an interview, but I suspect that the Queen had arranged it just so:

Queen Latifah wants to be clear: Despite speculation online, her performance at Long Beach's Lesbian & Gay Pride event on May 19 was not a signal that she was coming out as a lesbian. "That definitely wasn't the case," she tells EW. "I've never dealt with the question of my personal life in public. It's just not gonna happen."

That said, the 42-year old was thrilled to participate in the event and even recalled an earlier performance for gay audiences. "To me, doing a gay pride show is one of the most fun things," she says. "My first show that paid more than $10,000 was in a gay club on New Year's Eve in San Francisco. Tupac happened to be in town, so he came to kick it with me. This was the early '90s. And the boys were like, 'Take your shirt off, Tupac!' He wasn't doing that. But we had a blast in there."

Latifah — who's starring in an upcoming remake of Steel Magnolias for Lifetime — also reiterated her support for her gay fans. "I know that the most important thing and the only thing I have to give is love. When people are going through hatred and bullying, the biggest thing to fight that is love," she says. "So that's all I encouraged my audience to do that night: to share their light and share their love. Period."

[From Entertainment Weekly]

Love the Tupac story. As for Latifah's statement – I can get behind that. I'm fine with celebrities keeping the personal lives private, just so long as they aren't outright denying or lying to us. Latifah isn't out there, pretending to be dating a some Rent-A-Dong. She's not giving effusive interviews about how much she loves dudes. She's just not commenting on her personal life at all, the end. Which is fine. Admirable, even.

Jennifer Aniston shows off her slim, toned (not-pregnant) figure at the gym

Posted: 03 Jun 2012 06:47 AM PDT

Here are some new photos of Jennifer Aniston on on June 1st, arriving at a West Hollywood gym with a bodyguard. This is actually SO notable for several reasons. One, we haven't had new photos of Jennifer since March 15th (I'm including two March photos below, one of Aniston and Justin Theroux in a car, one of Aniston walking in jeans). I'm sure she's been photographed by some of the fancy photo agencies in that time period, but my point is that Jennifer really went undercover (for the most part) for the past ten weeks or so. Two, this Undercover Aniston Situation led some people to believe she was knocked up and hiding her bump. Look at her abdomen in those sweatpants – she's not pregnant. If anything, she's lost some weight.

As for whether Jennifer is even trying to get pregnant with Justin Theroux or whether she (secretly) doesn't give a crap about babies, I still have no idea. I find it interesting that she still gets all of these tabloid rumors about her womb and they're all for naught in the face of photographic evidence.

Incidentally, Jennifer is up for an MTV Movie Award tonight for her role in Horrible Bosses. She's up for "Best Dirtbag" or something. I wonder if she's going to show up? Will Jennifer and Justin make their red carpet debut… at the MTV Movie Awards?

Drew Barrymore & Will Kopelman married in Montecito on Saturday (update)

Posted: 03 Jun 2012 06:28 AM PDT

All of last week, I kept seeing photos of Drew Barrymore and her fiancé, Will Kopelman, out and about – they were doing fittings and engagement parties and rehearsals and stuff. But in my increasingly senile mind (I'm having a bad week, y'all), I really thought "Hunh – I wonder when they'll actually have the wedding? I bet it's further away than people think." Nope. They got married yesterday in Montecito. The bride wore Chanel – I'm including some photos of Drew, Cameron Diaz (maid of honor?) and Will leaving the LA Chanel store. Did you know Will's father used to be the CEO of Chanel? Yes. Drew is marrying into "family money". But I have my doubts as to whether Will Kopelman has much money on his own:

Here comes the bride!

A beaming Drew Barrymore, 37, tied the knot Saturday with her fiancé of five months, art dealer Will Kopelman, at her Montecito, Calif., home.

Designed by celebrity wedding planners Yifat Oren and and Stefanie Cove – who handled Reese Witherspoon’s country chic nuptials last March – the intimate ceremony was “a classic, simple, very pretty, garden-inspired wedding,” a source tells PEOPLE. A rabbi officiated.

Guests included Jimmy Fallon and wife Nancy Juvonen, Busy Philipps and her husband, and Cameron Diaz, who were also present Friday night for rehearsal dinner at the San Ysidro Ranch.

The actress, who is pregnant with her first child, was spotted trying on wedding veils at a New York City bridal shop in May, donned a Chanel gown for her big day – not surprisingly, as her new husband’s father, Arie Kopelman, is a former Chanel CEO.

As the newlyweds look ahead to impending parenthood, friends say the former Hollywood wild child – who was twice married before – is eager to begin her life as a mom.

“She’s telling people that she’s finally ready for a quieter, more family-oriented life,” an insider tells PEOPLE.

[From People]

Well… congratulations to the happy couple. I think Drew is very far along in her pregnancy, so this really was a good ol' fashioned shotgun wedding. It's interesting to me that Drew has remade herself into a quieter, more conservative bride/mother-to-be. Notice that a rabbi officiated the ceremony – I also suspect that Will asked Drew to convert for him, and that might have been what held up the wedding plans? Just a theory. Also: Drew and Will have already given/sold the exclusive wedding photos to People Magazine, so I'm guessing we already know People's cover next week. Mazel tov, y'all.

UPDATE: Some just-released photos of Drew & Will leaving their wedding:

Michael Fassbender & Benedict Cumberbatch are finally going to work together

Posted: 03 Jun 2012 06:00 AM PDT

Ah, new Fassbender photos! And new Benedict Cumberbatch photos! Isn't today glorious? These are photos of Michael Fassbender and the cast of Prometheus celebrating after the Thursday night premiere in London. Fassy & Company went out to 34 for dinner and drinks. Guess who Fassy's date was? HIS MOM – she's the dark-haired lady with bangs, wearing jeans. His mom's name is Adele (sigh…) and she was also his date to the BAFTAs back in February. Fassy is really close to his family, including his doctor sister.

Can we just spend a minute talking about Fassy's style? His choice in suits and formalwear is definitely questionable, although he occasionally pulls out a really nice suit. Most of the time, when I see him on the red carpet, I just want him to invest in a really great tailor because it would make such a big difference in how his pants and jackets fit. As for Fassy's casual style, on display here… this boy is kind of train wreck, right? I don't hate a man in jeans. But Fassy consistently wears SKINNY JEANS – like he borrowed them from a girl(friend). And after a certain age (say, 30), I don't like a man in Chucks. As for this totally Cosby sweater – dear God.

I'm also including photos of Benedict Cumberbatch at "The Fifth Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic" in New Jersey yesterday. I'm sure it was a paid appearance – I mean, why else would Cumby go to Jersey? No disrespect to New Jersey. But Cumby is a posh bastard. He wouldn't deign to go to Jersey unless he was getting paid. You might be asking yourself: "Kaiser, why do you insist on drawing my attention away from Michael Fassbender's p0rnographic ginger and forcing me to pay attention to the delicious richness known as CUMBY?" That is an excellent question, darling. My answer: Cumby and Fassy will become ONE. Sort of! Cumby has just signed on to Fassbender's new film (with director Steve McQueen), Twelve Years a Slave.

I keep getting Twelve Years a Slave mixed up with Quentin Tarantino's film Django Unchained. Django stars Leo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz and Jamie Foxx. Twelve Years stars Fassbender, Chitwetel Ejiofor, Brad Pitt and now Benedict Cumberbatch. Django is filming right now – Twelve Years will begin production soon, in New Orleans. Cumby has been getting lots of roles in bigger Hollywood movies lately – he was in War Horse last year, and he was cast in Star Trek 2 and The Hobbit. Many think McQueen will premiere this film at next year's Cannes Film Festival, where he won the Palme d'Or for Hunger back in 2008.

So… Fassbender, Cumby and Brad Pitt… all in the same film. And Brad is producing it. Which makes me wonder… I know Brad is a huge fan of Fassy's, but is Brad also hopelessly SHERLOCKED?

Charlie Sheen’s neighbors think he’s on another crazy bender again

Posted: 03 Jun 2012 05:16 AM PDT

Last year was The Year of Cocaine Charlie Sheen. I have such a low tolerance for most of these larger stories of celebrity-breakdowns – at some point (very quickly for me), it just becomes too gross, too tragic, and I don't even want to watch it anymore (exception: The Cracken, for various reasons). I really thought Charlie Sheen was going to die last year, and I wasn't interested in watching it. I'm sort of shocked that Charlie is still around – and not only is he still alive, but he's also got a job and he's been seeming sober-ish for about nine months. I'm not saying Charlie was actually sober or anything, I'm just saying that the crazy booze-and-blow bender seemed to wind down and Charlie was still crazy with or without the help of drugs. But this too shall pass.

Charlie Sheen has been partying until the wee hours of the morning at his Beverly Hills mansion, and he’s had a number of random vehicles parked in his driveway, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

Sheen’s ex-wife, Brooke Mueller, also partied at the actor’s home and subsequently suffered a drug relapse, which resulted in yet another trip to rehab. Mueller is on probation for a cocaine possession conviction, but it appears unlikely her relapse will result in her being sent to jail.

Sheen’s neighbors near his swanky Mullholland Estates home tell RadarOnline.com exclusively, “there has been an abnormally high levels of activity at the house all hours of the night. Cars containing scantily clad women arrive very late in the evening and don’t leave until the next day. The women always appear to be wearing the same clothes they arrived in, and looking a little worse for the wear.

There are also a number of random vehicles parked all over his driveway and in front of his house. The party goers, including Sheen, will smoke cigarettes outside in his backyard and swear loudly. It’s becoming a nuisance, and the residents don’t like outsiders lurking around all the time. People move to Mullholland Estates for security and privacy because it’s a gated community. Slash lives down the street from Charlie, and you never hear or see anything odd going on at his house. In fact, he is very low key and very quiet. Too bad some of that doesn’t rub off on Charlie.”

The actor has been “partying because he isn’t working right now. Filming for his new television show, Anger Management, is done for the first season of the show. Things always go awry with Charlie when he isn’t working,” the source says.

Sheen recently told Matt Lauer during a recent interview that he still drinks alcohol, despite having a drug problem in the past. A shocked Lauer said at the time, "You’ve admitted issues with drugs: I don’t know one addiction specialist who would tell a guy in your position, 'It’s okay to drink’.”

The former Two and a Half Men star responded, "Well, if you do, I should probably go to that guy! I have different theories about the whole thing, one of them is, park near the VIP exit!”

Board certified addiction specialist, Dr. Drew Pinsky previously told us, “I truly worry for Charlie because of his extensive history of drug addiction. Under no circumstances should Charlie, or anyone in recovery from prescription drugs, street drugs, etc., consume alcohol, period. There is no grey area on this. Yes, Charlie does seem to be doing better now than he was last year, perhaps he is on some psychiatric drugs that are controlling his bi-polar issues and mania, but he is holding a loaded gun in his hand by drinking alcohol.”

Sheen's new TV series, Anger Management, debuts Thursday, June 28 on FX.

[From Radar]

Of course, "a few neighbors complaining" is still a long way away from "hiring ten p0rn stars and hookers to do a mountain of blow while playing with guns for 50 days in a row." I guess we'll know it's serious when Charlie's cars start ending up in ditches or going off cliffs again (that was always one of the biggest mysteries to me).

Anyway, Charlie Sheen responded to the reports by giving a statement (of sorts) to TMZ. This is what TMZ claims Charlie emailed them (?):

I can’t speak to anyone’s opinion or judgement.
I was there
they were not.
their tepid
hearsay is a baseless
static drone.
a mantra.
their theme.
I refuse to be held hostage by their ‘constitutional’
privelidge,
to judge those
who can and who do.

nabobs.
CS

Can you imagine being so high/crazy that you're writing haikus to TMZ? Oh, pardon me – FAILED haikus.

I'm shocked that Charlie was not approached to play Richard Burton to Lindsay Lohan's Elizabeth Taylor. He would have been perfect.
