Uggie the Dog in a gold collar at his Grauman’s ceremony: try hard or adorable?

Posted: 26 Jun 2012 09:17 AM PDT

Uggie

Here are some photos of Uggie the Dog (from The Artist) at his hand-and-foot ceremony at Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood. Uggie is the very first canine to receive this honor, and I very much appreciate that his stylist didn’t put him in a too-short dress that would have been improper for squatting to do the requisite paw prints. Here’s a better look at that gorgeous gold collar on Uggie. It’s very dressy, and while it’s not quite as civilized as the black tie he wore for awards season, I think it’s just perfect for this occasion. This is all about Uggie, you know? As of this ceremony, he’s retiring from showbiz, and I’m tearing up (a little bit) just thinking about it:

Uggie

Uggie, the Jack Russell who became synonymous with Oscar-winning film The Artist, becomes the first dog to leave his prints outside Hollywood’s Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.

Dressed in a black bow tie, Uggie sank his paws in cement in a ceremony that also marked his retirement from the movies.

Uggie, 10, who hit the big time as French actor Jean Dujardin’s cute sidekick in the silent movie, will appear at charity events, his trainer said.

“Everybody thinks I am great trainer. I don’t think so. I think he is just a great dog,” trainer Omar von Muller said at the paw print ceremony, thanking Uggie’s fans and his thousands of followers on Twitter and Facebook.

Filmed in black and white, The Artist won five Oscars, including best picture, in February. The Blu-ray version of the movie sees its release on Tuesday. Fans mounted a campaign to have Uggie nominated for an acting Academy Award in his own right, but the pooch was ineligible under rules that say acting awards can only go to humans.

Uggie, who also performed in Water for Elephants, has made appearances around the world since The Artist was released last year. He won the 2011 Palm Dog award at the Cannes film festival in May and the Golden Collar Award in Los Angeles in February.

[From The Telegraph]

I hope that Uggie makes the most of his (relaxing) retirement, and he’s probably very serious about taking a load off instead of just threatening to leave and coming back a month later with a new movie or record album. Uggie doesn’t seem like the kind of diva who would “retire” just for attention, and sadly, he will also be sidelined by his mysterious shaking syndrome too. The good news is that his vet says “it is neurological and he is not suffering.” I’ll miss the little Uggster, but maybe he’ll pop into a Hollywood event from time to time.

Here’s a few photos of Uggie and his pals. I’m pretty sure one of them functioned as his figurative Justin Theroux at the event.

Rielle Hunter: “As of the end of last week John Edwards & I are no longer a couple”

Posted: 26 Jun 2012 08:27 AM PDT

Well, Rielle Hunter just confirmed something that we've been wondering about for a while. Rielle told Good Morning America today that she and "Johnny" (although she actually calls him "John" here) are done. As of LAST WEEK. Now…there have been plenty of rumors that John and Rielle were done several times over the past few years, and that they really only saw each other because of Quinn, their daughter. But Rielle now says that they were "together" all of this time, and that they just called it quits last week. She was on GMA this morning to do further promotion on her book, What Really Happened, which is just her crazy, delusional take on this situation, and her balls-out attack on a dead woman, Elizabeth Edwards. For whatever reason, GMA isn't offering an embeddable video for the interview (you can watch it here), so we'll just have to go with the text:

Rielle Hunter and John Edwards ended their controversial relationship last week, just days after her new book debuted and she went public about how they met, hid their affair and had a baby girl together.

“We are a family, but as of the end of last week John Edwards and I are no longer a couple. Not at all,” Hunter told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos on “Good Morning America.”

When asked if she still loved Edwards, Hunter replied, “I do.”

Stephanopoulos asked if Edwards still loved her and she said, “You have to ask him. I think he does. I mean I feel that he does.”

Nevertheless, the couple split, she said, worn down by the scrutiny and pressure brought on by their high profile affair that began while Edwards was running for the 2008 presidential nomination.

“For me, for my part in it, it’s because I’m no longer interested in hiding, hiding our relationship, not living out,” she said. “I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but we’ve had a lot of media scrutiny. It’s complicated and it’s hard. It wears you down after a while.”

Hunter, 48, wouldn’t say whether one of them made the break.

“That’s private. We decided together to end it. It’s hard. It’s painful,” she said.

The interview began with Stephanopoulos asking Hunter, who has had a baby girl named Frances Quinn with Edwards, whether knowing what she knows now, would she do it all again.

“Would I do that again?” repeats Hunter almost incredulously. “No way. Absolutely not.”

She rejected a suggestion that the relationship may have been a mistake.

“I know many things many things in the relationship were a mistake but I don't regret loving him,” she said.

The break-up came after the publication of Hunter’s revealing memoir “What Really Happened: John Edwards, Our Daughter and Me.” At the end of Hunter’s memoir, she leaves unclear the status of her relationship with Edwards but insisting there is still love between them.

“I really have no idea what will happen with us. The jury is still out. But I can honestly say that the ending is of no concern to me anymore. The love is here. And as sappy as it may sound, I love living in love,” she writes.

The book also revealed that Edwards had several mistresses before her, but it also angered people for her harsh criticism of Edwards’ wife Elizabeth, who was dying of cancer at the time of their affair. Elizabeth Edwards has since died of the disease. Hunter said that people should read the book before criticizing her.

“There is so much misinformation and distortion about this story and people form opinions without knowing what really happened,” she said. “The public persona of John Edwards and Elizabeth Edwards — and me, for that matter — are so wrong. I think that it helps that we all are real humans and we all are not perfect,” she said. “I don't think it serves the kids, including my own daughter, to have people that their father is a demon, when he's not, and that Elizabeth was a saint, because she wasn't, and that I'm a home wrecker. It doesn't serve anybody.”

[From ABC News]

Words cannot even describe how I am STILL so pissed off at John Edwards for foisting this woman upon the national media. The man is a sleaze, obviously, but it really says something about him that this is the kind of woman he went for as a mistress/girlfriend. Anyway, I suspect that Rielle and John were done a long time ago, but kept it civil for their daughter. I also suspect that John has been screwing everyone and everything for years, and that there are probably several other "Rielles" out there, and maybe some other children. Ugh.

Ann Curry wants $20 million to walk away from ‘Today’, NBC says no way

Posted: 26 Jun 2012 07:55 AM PDT

Back in April, Matt Lauer signed a new contract with the Today Show for more money than any of us will ever see. It was said at the time that one of Lauer's conditions for staying with NBC was that Today producers needed to fire his co-anchor, Ann Curry. Ann is pretty awful as a morning show anchor. She's a pretty awful interviewer and news-reader overall, but she seems truly overwhelmed by the anchor's chair. Plus, you get the feeling that Matt and Today producers blame Ann for their falling ratings too. Anyway, the "Ann Curry is about to get fired" story picked up more steam last week when Ann acknowledged the rumors publicly. Now TMZ reports that Ann and NBC are negotiating her departure – apparently, she wants a $20 million golden parachute to just walk away. For the love of God, Ann.

Ann Curry and NBC are negotiating her exit from “Today” and the hang-up is money … sources connected with the network tell TMZ.

Our sources say Savannah Guthrie has already made her deal with the network to succeed Ann as co-anchor of “Today,” but the snag is the amount of money Ann will get.

As we first reported, Ann gets $10 million a year. She is one year into a 3-year contract, and from what we’re hearing NBC does not want to pay her $20 million for the balance of the contract.

Sources tell us Ann wants the full $20 mil and her exit papers. NBC wants to pay her $10 mil and give her a foreign correspondent job. And therein lies the hang-up.

The network could pay her the $20 mil and then prohibit her from working anywhere else for 2 years. But we’re told they don’t want to shell out that kind of dough, so Ann’s lawyer and NBC are haggling.

NBC wants to make the switch quickly … certainly before the Olympics so they can showcase Savannah. We’re hearing the goal is to make the announcement late this week or early next.

[From TMZ]

I mean… I understand the whole "using your parent company's desire to get you the hell off the air to make even more money" negotiation tactic. But at the end of the day, Ann should be grateful for any amount of money, because she's just that awful. As for the rumors of Savannah… I like Savannah. She's perky, she's quick, and maybe Matt Lauer has a thing for her. I'm surprised Lauer's very alleged rumored lover Natalie Morales isn't in the running for co-anchor too. Radar is still claiming that Hoda Kotb is the "frontrunner" for the gig… although I don't buy that at all. I think Lauer is pretty much choosing his co-anchor, and he's going with someone young and perky.

Blake Lively in Zuhair Murad at the LA ‘Savages’ premiere: busted or beautiful?

Posted: 26 Jun 2012 05:19 AM PDT

Last night was the big LA premiere of Oliver Stone's Savages, which comes out in America on July 6 – not this Friday, but next. Almost all of the stars from the film were at the LA premiere. The one person who didn't show up: newlywed Aaron Johnson, who might be on his honeymoon and thus, had a good excuse for not coming to the premiere of one of his first big American films. CB has covered John Travolta's wiggy appearance on the red carpet, and I shall cover the rest of the photos.

I think it's fair to say that Blake Lively was the big "star" of the red carpet. Salma Hayek didn't look all that great, and Blake really pulled out all of the stops. Blake wore this Zuhair Murad couture gown, which is like an optical illusion dress that looks poured onto her. You can say whatever you want about this girl's face (eh) and her "game" (eh): but you cannot deny that Blake has a KILLER figure. Look at her body in this gown. It's amazing. I would love to have her figure. And yes, I know her boobs are man-made. I would still love to have all of it. As for the dress – it's not my favorite thing that I've ever seen her wear, but hey, at least it's not Marchesa. And at least Blake isn't falling out of it.

As for the overall styling… am I alone in thinking her makeup looks rough? The lipstick shade is too bright, the earrings don't really go with the dress, and her hair looks awful. The blonde looks over-processed, and I just feel like she's going for the "Glamour Barbie" look. Maybe I'm being too critical because I'm overwhelmed by jealousy for her figure, though. Or maybe Blake shouldn't brag constantly about styling herself because she really does NOT have an eye for it.

Oh, and Ryan Reynolds was nowhere to be seen? I guess Blake had to do the premiere stuff as a single girl.

John Travolta & Kelly Preston go overboard with the PDA at ‘Savages’ premiere

Posted: 26 Jun 2012 05:04 AM PDT

We just heard yesterday that John Travolta was being sued by a cruise ship employee for alleged sexual assault that occurred in 2009. You can read the lawsuit details on TMZ. This man previously went public with his story and only just now filed suit. I find his story believable considering that it jibes with so many other lawsuits and details we’ve already heard. Of course Travolta’s lawyer, Marty Singer, has issued a denial trying to discredit the man, like he’s done in every other case. It’s only a matter of time before the black SUVs come along and try to run the guy’s car off the road.

A lot of us have been rooting for Travolta’s brainwashed wife, Kelly Preston, to finally snap out of it and get out of there. Instead of cutting and running while she has the chance Kelly looks like she’s circling her wagons. These two went on a trip to Hawaii a couple of weeks ago in which Kelly is said to have mused that “if John was with his family more… these kind of allegations wouldn't surface.” As if the problem is that John is away too much, making himself vulnerable to frivolous lawsuits. Whatever is going on, it looks like Kelly is still drinking the Kool Aid.

John and Kelly were at the Savages premiere in L.A. last night hanging all over each other. John is in this movie at least, so he had a good reason to be there. This is definitely a calculated move. These two do support each other at premieres but rarely do they show so much PDA. I’ve wondered how Kelly could not know about John, but I’ve also mentioned how really spacey and out of it she sounded in this last interview I saw with her. This is a lady who is a cult member living very deep in denial. She has a very materially blessed life and the COS can do a lot of damage to her if they want to. It’s in her own best interest not to question much and to toe the line.

E! reports that these two came at the very last minute to the premiere and that they didn’t do interviews at all. Of course they didn’t. Everything is fine, see? Everything except John’s hairline.

Bullied bus monitor Karen Klein on her huge windfall “I don’t feel like I deserve it”

Posted: 26 Jun 2012 04:43 AM PDT

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

Bullied bus monitor Karen Klein was on The Today Show yesterday to discuss the huge windfall she’s about to receive. Since the horrible video of children taunting and mocking Karen went viral, people have donated over $650,000 to her through the website indiegogo.com. The money will go directly to Karen and her family, and she admitted that she wasn’t sure what she did to deserve it. She does seem to have accepted that the money is coming, whereas before she was doubtful. Her plans involve investing some of it and helping out her family. Karen also talked about how her case has helped raise awareness of bullying. As for whether she forgives the boys, two of whom have written her letters of apology, Karen said that she eventually wants an explanation, but it sounds like she’s not ready to talk to them yet. (She previously told TMZ that she did not accept their apologies.) Here’s more:

The abuse Klein underwent inspired a stranger from Toronto to start up a collection on the website Indiegogo.com to give a vacation to Klein, who makes $15,506 a year at her position. With 26 days left to still donate, Klein might be able to buy her own island by the time the fundraising stops.

"I keep thinking, 'What have I done?' '' Klein said on TODAY Monday. "I don't almost feel like I deserve it. What I am glad about is the fact that it does come out, and everyone knows what goes on. Not all the time, not all the kids, but it does happen.''

Klein has received short written apologies from two of the boys, a long apology letter from one of the boys' mothers, and an in-person apology from one of the boys' fathers. Klein hopes to speak to the boys face-to-face at some point.
"Actually I would like to, eventually, not right away, ask them why they did it,'' she told Ann Curry. "(I want) an apology and an explanation.''

While Klein is flattered by all of the positive attention she has received, she hopes the end result is ensuring that others do not have to go through what she endured. She doesn't want the boys expelled, but has said she would like them banned from riding the bus for a year and ineligible to participate in team sports.

"I want kids to stop bullying,'' she said. "Maybe they could start up a class in school to teach these kids not to do stuff like that.''

In addition to all the money raised on her behalf, Klein has also been inundated with letters, e-mails and Facebook messages of support from across the world. There also was a rally in her hometown of Greece over the weekend.

"I've gotten so many notes from people who've been bullied, who've been very hurt,'' she said. "My heart goes out to these people, and I would like to contact every one of them and tell them how sorry I am.''

While she said she had been taunted by kids on the bus at other times in the past, the bullying she endured in the viral clip was the worst of the worst. It was so bad that her daughter, Michelle Hawkins, could not watch the entire clip, turning it off after one of the boys grabbed her mother's ear.

"As soon as he touched her, it was just over,'' Hawkins told Ann Curry. "I had to turn it off. I can't believe somebody would do that to my mother.''

Since school is out for the summer, the boys' punishment is currently being determined by school administrators and will be applied in the fall. Klein is not pressing any charges, and she said it's possible she may continue at her job. With $645,000 and counting in donations to her, there certainly is the option of retiring.
"Are you serious?''' Klein said when asked what she would do with the money. "What would anybody do with that much money? I would like to invest some."

Klein, who is a grandmother of eight, also said she would give some of the money to charity and help her children financially.

"They need cars, they need, they need, they need — it never ends,'' she said jokingly.

[From Today]

I agree with Karen that schools need to have classes to raise awareness of bullying. It’s important to educate kids about what bullying involves and how it affects others. This should be happening in every school nation wide.

As for whether Karen “deserves” the money, does anyone in this type of situation? She kind of won a viral video lottery, fueled by a terrible episode she underwent. There are people who argue that she wasn’t doing her job, but really? She was being tormented by some incredibly mean kids. What was she supposed to do, get up and smack the crap out of them? I get the urge to do that just watching the video. She showed a ton of restraint, and if she would have yelled at them they would have put it on Facebook and acted like she had it coming. She did the right thing and the truth came out. If this helps more victims to speak out, and if it helps more people realize how their words affects others, then this episode happened for a reason. People are giving her money because they identify with what she went through and feel for her. I don’t see why people have a problem with that.

Duchess Kate spent $45K on her wardrobe in six months: is that too much?

Posted: 26 Jun 2012 04:35 AM PDT

This story was mentioned yesterday, but I thought this issue deserved its own post. Yesterday, we discussed the Queen's recent move to make "blood princesses" higher up on the royal food chain than commoners-turned-royals, meaning that Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice now "out-rank" Duchess Kate. I think the first hint of that should have been the Queen's refusal to give Kate a "princess" title upon her marriage – Kate was simply made HRH the Duchess of Cambridge. She's not a princess – but she sort of is, because she married a prince. But whatever. She still has to curtsey to Bea and Eugenie now. Anyway, in The Mail story I used, they referenced another royal story about Kate – apparently, Prince Charles is funding her shopping exertions. Did you realize that? I didn't. I thought Kate was paying for her own clothes, and by that I mean "her parents are still funding Kate's extravagant lifestyle." Prince Charles began disclosing his (limited) tax information to the public, and he's going to make another public declaration on the state of his finances in the coming days. And Charles is going to reveal the cost of Kate's shopping sprees – she's spent roughly $45,000 on clothes. This year. And it's only June. Here's more:

For a self-proclaimed Queen of the High Street, she has embraced the joys of designer shopping most enthusiastically. Indeed, a quick tot up of her recent purchases suggests the increasingly glamorous Duchess of Cambridge has spent more than £35,000 on couture and 'high end' outfits since the beginning of the year alone.

Quite a turnaround, then, for the young woman who, shortly after her wedding last year, insisted she did not want to be seen as a 'clothes horse' and went on her honeymoon in a £49.99 Zara dress. In the next few days the public is going to be given an insight into the real 'cost of Kate' when Prince Charles opens up his financial accounts for the first time since the royal wedding. For unusually, the Mail can reveal, it is not the Duchess's husband who is footing the bill for her dazzling new wardrobe but her father-in-law, Prince Charles.

The future king has agreed to pay for the cost of any dresses the Duchess wears for 'work-related' functions and engagements through his official Household budget. While some may question why the duchess's husband, Prince William, doesn't fund his wife's wardrobe this is because, ostensibly, he earns only £44,000-a-year as an RAF helicopter pilot. The £10 million he inherited last week from his late mother's estate on turning 30, for example, is considered to be his private income.

Charles funds his public work – as well as that of his wife, Camilla, and both his children – through the Duchy of Cornwall, a private estate of land and property holdings which last year provided him a bumper pay pot of £17.8 million. His official expenditure – out of which will come Kate's clothing allowance – amounted to £11.4 million of that.

Charles is extremely fond of his 'darling daughter-in-law', as he likes to call Kate, and – for the time being at least – does not mind indulging her in the slightest. But he may yet live to rue his generosity for it is a bill that is rising by the day, not least because the Duchess insists – rightly so, in the opinion of many – on paying full price for all her garments. While most celebrity clients can expect a substantial discount in return for their endorsement of a particular product, Kate has instructed her staff to never pay less than the going rate. She also point blank refuses to accept any of the hundreds of free garments sent to her by designers each month, desperate for a piece of what has been dubbed 'The Kate Effect'. If a particular piece catches her eye she will instruct her Private Secretary cum Girl Friday Rebecca Deacon, or another member from her small team of private office staff, to buy it instead.

But Kate has privately made clear that while she is keen to champion British design around the globe, she does not want to become a 'rent-a-royal' fashionista. Indeed such is Kate's growing sartorial confidence that she has refused all offers by the Royal Household to provide her with a stylist or a dresser, their female equivalent of a valet. Although she has, on occasions, sought the advice of Camilla's own much-trusted dresser, Jackie Meakin, Kate hunts out and chooses all of her outfits herself. And while much research is conducted over the internet, Kate is still not above browsing the rails herself.

One of her fashion secrets is a small boutique called Moda Rosa, in the market town of Alresford, Hampshire, close to her parents' Berkshire home. Owner Rosie Wild stocks a number of her favourite designers including Libelula and has become such a good friend that she was invited to Kate's wedding.

'The Duchess has barely put a foot wrong since she got married so why does she need anyone to do it for her?' said an impeccably-placed source. 'Catherine has an innate sense of style and, almost as importantly, knows what is appropriate for the occasion. She might not choose the most cutting edge designers, but she know what looks good on her and that's what counts. Plus she is acutely conscious that she is not yet a full-time working royal and feels it is pretty pointless, as well as extravagant, to have her own dresser.'

Stewart Parvin, the Queen's favourite couturier has welcomed Kate's transformation from High Street Queen to Designer Duchess. He believes that whatever is spent on her wardrobe is a mere drop in the ocean compared to the business she brings in to the fashion industry.

'I think she is looking fabulous,' he said. 'I understand with the way the economy is at the moment that she feels a needs to be seen in High Street clothes [but] I think people also want to see her in things that are slightly more unattainable. She can't go walking into a function and bump into a woman wearing exactly the thing. People want the Royal Family to be slightly unreachable, it's part of the magic they have. Princess Diana always wore couture clothes and it will become the norm for Kate as time goes on. The reaction that she has already received should give her the confidence to wear more. Especially in this day and age, people just want to be dazzled.'

[From The Mail]

I have to both defend Kate and slam her. I'll defend her first: she is expected to look good, she's expected to support British designers, she's expected to not take discounts, and she's expected to not traipse around in the same old frocks year after year. So, I get why Charles is paying for Kate's shopping sprees and why she needs so many new dresses and such. It IS part of her job as a working royal. Being a pretty and well-dressed princess/duchess is part of the fantasy, and talking about her style is part of the fun for all of us in the cheap seats.

Now, my slam: Kate isn't a full-time working royal. She's already spent more than $40,000 on clothes in six months… and she barely averages one public appearance per week. Of course she doesn't need a full-time valet/dresser – she doesn't DO enough to need someone like that. Plus, it's pretty clear that despite all of the claims that Will and Kate are so "normal" and they go without staff, they are in reality very well-staffed, and Kate is already quite staff-dependent. Which is fine (if she was a full-time working royal, which she isn't) – she needs to surround herself with competent people, and she needs to delegate and manage her own affairs (she's 30 years old, for God's sake). It continues to bother me that the royal propagandists keep pushing this image of Kate, like we're supposed to be overcome by her frugality at not employing a full-time dresser when she sends her personal assistant out on a daily basis to pick up clothes using her father-in-law's credit card.

PS… Who pays for her hair appointments? She gets a blowout every three days. That's a lot of money too, you know.

Mila Kunis & Ashton Kutcher are not just hooking up, they’re full-on “dating”

Posted: 26 Jun 2012 04:28 AM PDT

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are still a thing. It's been going on for at least two months, probably closer to three. Mila tried denying the "dating" story soon after it came out, back in April. But since then, she's managed to not answer any questions about Ashton either way. And they continue to see each other, and the tabloids keep reporting on their dates, and paparazzi still get the occasional photo of the two of them too. I think we just have to accept it – they're dating. This isn't "just hooking up" or "just friends with benefits" or something. They are romantically involved. More evidence:

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher sure seem to be getting serious! Life & Style can reveal the intimate details about their romantic dinner at LA restaurant Giorgio Baldi on June 23 — which was a triple date with two of Mila’s closest friends and their significant others!

“They came in around 8 p.m.,” an eyewitness reveals to Life & Style. “They joined two other couples: Mila’s managers, Susan Curtis and her daughter Cami Curtis, as well as their husbands. They all seemed like good friends.

“Mila and Ashton looked very close, like a couple, and the mood was relaxed,” the eyewitness adds. “They really stood out. It’s one of the most romantic places you can take a girl.”

And Ashton couldn’t stop staring at the 28-year-old brunette beauty.

“They ordered wine,” the eyewitness tells Life & Style. “He looked really into her. He didn’t take his eyes off her once. He was totally focused and kind of fussed over her. You could tell he really likes her. It was cute. She was all dolled up. It’s very obvious that they’re dating and are really into each other. Friends don’t have Saturday-night dinner dates at Giorgio Baldi!”

The duo were first spotted together earlier this year. In April, they embarked on a three-day road trip to Carpinteria, Calif. And Mila has since been spotted leaving Ashton’s place in the morning on several occasions. Just last week, they were seen grabbing frozen yogurt at Menchie’s in Encino, Calif.

“They definitely tried to keep a low profile,” an eyewitness at Menchie’s tells Life & Style. “They were on a date for sure.”

Ashton, 34, split with wife Demi Moore, 49, in November after six years of marriage. The pair have yet to officially file divorce documents. Mila has admitted to having a thing for Ashton after they first met. She’s even revealed how nervous she was when she found out he’d be her first kiss, on the set of their former series That 70s Show.

“I was like, ‘Oh, he’s cute, it’s the Calvin Klein model.’… Then I was like, ‘I have to kiss him?’ I was so nervous and uncomfortable,” she said. “I had the biggest crush on him.”

Well, now it seems the feeling is mutual!

[From Life & Style]

At least they ordered wine. That means she’s not pregnant (hopefully) with a douche-baby. I wish people would stop using Mila's old quote about her "crush". Mila was, like, 14 years old when she started work on That 70s Show. She had a teenage crush. Stop using it against her now that she's an adult! This isn't some grand romance. This is Mila not dating up to her potential. I'm sorry, y'all. But Mila is a hot ticket and she could date someone really cool. Instead, she went from Macaulay Culkin to Justin Timberlake to… Ashton. Salma Hayek in green Gucci at the LA ‘Savages’ premiere: why does she look awful?

Posted: 26 Jun 2012 04:27 AM PDT

Here are the rest of the photos from last night's LA premiere of Savages – we already covered John Travolta and Blake Lively. Let's start with Salma Hayek in green, beaded Gucci. Does anyone else think it's weird that Blake Lively did NOT wear Gucci and Salma did? Blake just got a contract to represent Gucci's latest perfume. So why is Salma in Gucci? I don't even know. I do like the dress, it's a beautiful color and a beautiful design. But Salma's hair and makeup are ROUGH. Salma is a gorgeous woman with beautiful skin and hair – why she chose to style herself to look so haggard is beyond me. If I had her hair, I would do something more with it besides pulling it straight back in a busted Croydon facelift. CB claims that Salma looked much better in motion, during her red carpet interviews. Maybe.

Taylor Kitsch, another Savages star, looking incredibly boring. It's not his suit (although the suit doesn't help) – it's HIM. He's boring.

Mary-Louise Parker was the premiere for no reason (other than she probably just wanted to see the movie). I love her so much. She looks like a demented fairy here.

Helen Hunt in an LBD. She's not in the movie either. It's nice to see her out and about, though.

Benicio del Toro looks like he's about to gut-punch someone. Why so angry?

OMG Demian Bichir. So hot. I'm consistently unimpressed by his girlfriend, though. But… at least he always brings her to these events. That's nice.

Jennifer Aniston shows off a new “ring” at LAX: did Justin Theroux propose?

Posted: 26 Jun 2012 04:26 AM PDT

Here are some new photos of Justin Theroux and Jennifer Aniston arriving at LAX after they finished up their European "summer vacation" (I'm assuming). JustJen were in Paris for a week (where Aniston drank Diet Coke and had a salad), then they went to Rome and Vatican City, where Aniston wore a minidress and the Pope still waved her through, because I hear he was a fan of Friends. I don't really know where Justin and Jennifer were this past week, though – I'm assuming they were still in Europe, somewhere, but we were no longer getting daily photo ops from the two of them. As for these photos – could Aniston look happier at being pap'd? Look at that sly smile.

You know why she's smiling? Because she pulled the same thing that she pulled on Vince Vaughn years ago – she's showing off a "ring" in the hopes that we'll assume that Justin/Vince "proposed".

Jennifer Aniston was rocking a diamond ring after an European getaway with beau Justin Therouux yesterday. The former “Friends” star was seen covering her face at LAX, and revealing what looked like an engagement ring. But, the diamond was worn on her right ring finger, not her left.

Still, the image sparked speculation, and Aniston and Theroux were rumored to be abroad “to scout potential wedding locations in France,” according to Web site X17online.

The couple have previously been photographed wearing matching rings with their names, “Jennifer” and “Justin,” in funky, scripted letters.

However, don’t get those wedding gifts just yet… the Daily Mail reports that “sources close to Justin spoke out to shoot down the claims, insisting their visit to [France] was simply a summer vacation.”

[From Page Six]

Isn't she just so clever? It's not like it's her go-to move or anything. Before I noticed the sly smile and the ring issue, I was actually going to theorize that Justin and Jennifer were looking at potential wedding locales, but now that I see Jennifer's Ring Game, I suspect that Justin hasn't yet proposed. And maybe he never will…? He never married Heidi Bivens, even after 14 years together. Maybe he's just not that into marriage. And maybe Jennifer is trying to push the issue with her Ring Game?
