Idris Elba Talks Being Annoyed By Girlfriend Rumors + The Death Of His Father

Mandela star Idris Elba isn't feeling his personal life...and much rumored ladies' man ways...being the topic of discussion these days.  But welcome to being a major star Mr. Elba. Check out how the hottie says his pre-teen daughter keeps him grounded, why he's annoyed by questions about his alleged pregnant girlfriend and more....

Idris Elba is starring as Nelson Mandela in the upcoming flick Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom.  But he says their ladies' man personalities aren't what they have in common. (If you say so Idris).

He told USA Today that he's pretty annoyed by his personal life taking center stage in the media. But when you bring your chick to very public work events, like movie screenings and premieres, you're pretty much inviting your personal and private lives to cross.  Maybe he should also inform his alleged girlfriend to not post on her social media about being pregnant and alluding to the fact it's his baby.

But we digress.  Check out the highlights of the sexy actor's newest interview with USA Today:

On his alleged girlfriend Naiyana Garth and her alleged pregnancy

"Recently my private life is creeping into my work life and that annoys the (expletive) out of me," he says. "This is my work. My life is different."

On his ladies' man persona

"My director likes to point out that Mandela was a ladies' man. What the (expletive)? That's why you hired me, because you think I'm a ladies' man?" Elba says with a laugh. He denies sharing that characteristic with Mandela. "What I do see is the ambition. He's got drive and I have a lot of drive, annoyingly. I never want to sit still. My agents are like, 'Calm down.' But why take six months off?"

On meeting Oprah

"I was just sitting with Oprah Winfrey, who has been a landmark, a pinnacle for success. If you sit with Oprah Winfrey, you've made it," he says. "My mum believes that. It's been surreal to have this attention thrown at me. It's a massive honor."

On the recent death of his father

"My father passed recently. I based my character in Mandela on my dad. He was the only 70-year-old man I knew. Watching the way my dad got out of chairs was my basis for Mandela. Watching that film with him when he was alive was really surreal. He was so impressed. He (understood) what I was doing for the first time," sighs Elba.

On his daughter keeping his grounded

"I hug trees. I've got a tree tattooed on my arm. My daughter (Isan, 11) and I, every New Year's if we're together, we go out at the stroke of midnight and we go sit by a tree and have a picnic and chat. It's really good for highlighting that that was then and this is now," he says.

Fans of The Five Heartbeats will be pleased to learn that a sequel is in the works! Get the deets inside and see Taye Diggs' tweet denying some very harsh quotes about Black women that were attributed to him.

Director Robert Townsend, who produced Bill Cosby's most recnt comedy concert "Far From Finihsed" airing Thanksgiving Day on Comedy Central, confirmed to Black America Web that he's producing a sequel to The Five Heartbeats.  The original, (shown atop) that starred Leon and Michael Wright as members of a Temptations-style singing group has been given the greenlight due to the recent success of The Best Man Holiday. Robert said, “I am working on a sequel. Next year I’ll be making an announcement.”

In other rumors......

 photo tayediggas.png

A celebrity satire site attributed some pretty atrocious comments about Black women to actor Taye Diggs (The Best Man Holiday) which forced him to issue a denial.

In the article, Taye is (mis)quoted as saying, “Let’s just say its not a stereotype that black women are less submissive and harder to deal with. Being around all them black women made me really miss my wife”.

Unfortunately, the rumor gained traction on the web with people who thought it was real.  And it forced Taye to tweet "Regarding the preposterous quote about black women: It is false. I have not and would never say such a thing. Ever. Period."

There you have it....

OH SNAP: Kanye Totally SPAZZES On Sway During "Sway In The Morning" Show [FULL INTERVIEW]

 photo BaBLT6zCIAE6atqjpg_large_zpsba0fed0d.jpg

Don't let that smile fool you.  Ish got real during Kanye West's "Sway In The Morning' interview this AM on Shade 45.  Peep inside what made Kanye pop off and scream on Sway...

Kanye is leaving NYC with a bang.  He hit up Sway Calloway's Shade 45 morning show on Sirius/XM today.  And some type of way, things ended up getting intense after Sway asked a simple question to Kanye about why he isn't able to get to wherever it he's trying to get to in the fashion world.

Sway, who was one of the first people to promote Kanye on MTV and has said many times he's a Kanye fan, asked 'Ye why he believes he's not able to succeed in fashion (seeing that Kanye continuously rants about being blocked out of that world)?

What came next was 3 and a half minutes of Kanye straight screaming on dude and spazzing out.

“Why don’t you empower yourself, and don’t need them, & do it yourself?” Asked Sway.

Kanye starts yelling:

"You ain't got the answer SWAY....You ain't spent $13 million of your own money trying to "empower"... I have been doing this longer than you... You ain't been doing the EDUCATION..."

Oh?

Sway responded calmly that no, he doesn't have the answers and that's why he's ASKING. He revealed he spent hundreds of thousands of his own money at a smaller degree on a fashion line, and didn't succeed the way he wanted to.  So he understands.

"What's the name of your clothing line"... we don't know...it ain't RALPH though...."

Sway's repsonse:

"Man to man dog...f*ck these mics.  They can turn all this shit off and you don't have to do this.  We cool... we homies...we love you. Don't try to embarrass us."

Kanye finally calmed it down and said he's not trying to embarrass or disrespect anybody (really?), but he's just mad.  Mad about what?  We're not sure.  But he did say this:

Kanye then said, "We are all slaves, we all have experience this.  This is nothing but a moment out of the movie "Glory"...they are all slaves to Nike, etc."

Apparently, Adidas--where he has his new deal--didn't make the "slave" list.

Losing $13 mill on a fashion deal can make one upset.  But all this misplaced anger....

Seems he's still super hot about that Nike situation.  He seems to feel that because he's met with everyone "important" and put in so much of his own money.....it's absolutely impossible for the fashion world to simply just not like what he has to offer.

After the heated conversation, they both brought their talk back to music. They spoke on why was Pusha T & Big Sean weren't on the tour and why Nicki Minaj had the best verse on Monster.

Here's the full interview:

On Monday night's episode of "Dancing With The Stars", one of the final teams--Jack Osburne and Cheryl Burke--danced it up to TLC's live performance of "No Scrubs".

Lil Mama joined T-Boz & Chilli for the occasion.  And while the girls keep saying Lil Mama is not replacing Left Eye....we can't help but think this is all a test to see if it would work.

Rihanna and Drake seem to still be pretty into each other.  There have been reports lately of the twosome secretly boo'd up at clubs together.  And last night was no different.

Check out Rihanna at Drizzy's tour stop at the Staples Center last night, plus their post-concert activities together...

Looky looky.  Rihanna, fresh off her big night at the AMAs, was spotted at Drake's concert at the Staples Center last night rocking that same doobie hairstyle.  Drake rolled through L.A. on his "Would You Like A Tour?" trek, and Rihanna made sure to be there to support.

She was spotted walking through the crowds and popped up backstage with Nicki Minaj, Snoop and Wiz Khalifa who were also there to support.

And after the concert, it seems Drake & Rih wanted some QT together.  They were spotted getting a table (well, jacking someone else's table) and partying at Booty Bellows nightclub until after 4AM.

"Vanderpump Rules" star Kristen Doute spilled the tea that Drake & Rihanna went to showed up together....and got a table together.  HER table:

Kanye West Heads To The Breakfast Club: Explains Choosing Jay Z OVER Dame Dash, Gets COMBATIVE With Charlamagne Tha God

Posted: 26 Nov 2013 09:40 AM PST

 photo ghgsfgrss.png

Kanye West appeared on The Breakfast Club for a no-holds-barred interview that found him sparring with Charlamange Tha God, explaining why he broke free of Dame Dash, and defending his rants about President Obama and corporations.  Peep the highlights inside....

Earlier this morning, Power 105.1 aired a pre-taped interview with Kanye West that was funny, informative and intense.  Just as we expected.

While DJ Envy and Angela Yee played referee, Kanye found himself at odds with Charlamagne Tha God who took him to task for calling out President Obama, his numerous rants about corporations and questioned his move into the fashion world versus focusing on music.  We're sure Charlamagne's hilarious Donkey of the Day rants about Yeezy didn't help the situation.

The interview got off to a bumpy start when Angela Yee told Kanye about a fight that broke out in her row the night she went to the YEEZUS show.  At the 1:37 mark, Angela said a White fan used the "N" word during one of Kanye's rants (apparently the "fan" wasn't happy with what Kanye was saying on stage). So things got crazy.

As Angela told the story, Kanye smiled and said "That's interesting" before moving on.  Now......for a Black man who has "reclaimed" and re-purposed the confederate flag for his own use, so he says, you'd think this would be a perfect teaching moment for some of his beliefs......but he ignored it.  Apparently, this fight plays into the "provocative" vibe 'Ye like to give off..

The sparring with Charlamange (which lasts throughout the 40-minute interview), began around the 6:30 mark. Charlamagne created a tense moment when he called Kanye a "walking contradiction" because of the way he bashes corporations on one hand, then asks them to support his ideas.  Possibly, Charlamagne was being too logical.

One of the most interesting pieces of the interview came at the 10:23 mark when Kanye explained why be broke away from Dame Dash (who believed in him and his music) and selected Jay Z as a mentor.

"(DAME) The problem was his truth was more accurate and closer to what mine was but his technique was harsh to me as a young kid. And Jay Z was a nice guy. I have that truth that Dame has in him. We the same. Like me and Cam'ron, me and Dame, we the same. But I wanted to learn this technique that Jay got of actually being likable. When I did "Watch The Throne" I wanted to learn Jay's techniques of talking to people. I be talking to people the wrong way sometimes. (Charlamagne chimed in “Me too"). Rubbing them the wrong way. Jay Z knows how to move in a room full of vultures. As his little brother I needed to learn that technique cause I got something God wants me to give the world."

Other highlights:

At 24:58,  Kanye says he takes inspiration from God, which leads Charlamagne to ask if God told him to denounce the first Black President of The United States.  The look on Kanye's face is PRICELESS! He then explains, again, why he truly believes he and Kim are just as relevant, if not more relevant, than the Obamas.

Peep the 40-min interview below:
