Teresa Scanlan Wins Miss America Pageant, Hates Wikileaks Posted: 16 Jan 2011 10:03 AM PST Last night 17-year-old Miss Nebraska, Teresa Scanlan, became the youngest woman to ever win the Miss America pageant. Good for her! She’s going to go to college (after she defers a year to properly fulfill her principle duty of signing autographs at county shopping malls and car shows) to become a politician, and the last time someone did that we ended up with Sarah Palin. So that’s good. Well hey, not to hate, cuz the girl can play a mean version of Chopsticks.
Teresa is also under some fire this morning for her controversial stance on Wikileaks, but honestly, we’re just impressed. Laugh all you want, how many high-school age prom queens do you know who could tell you about the national security risk that the free information site poses? Maybe we just have really low standards, but honestly, compare Teresa’s response with that of Miss California Carrie Prejean’s answer from 2009. Improvement? Sure, why not. At least this way when Teresa’s inevitable sex tape/nude pics surface on the web, she can just blame Julian Assange. Post from: Crushable |
Video: The Best Of Gwyneth Paltrow On Saturday Night Live Posted: 16 Jan 2011 09:18 AM PST Of course, “best” here is a relative term. After the Miss America pageant and the Packers game last night, most people probably did not want to stick around watching TV till 11:30 so they could watch Gwyneth Paltrow make gentle fun of herself on Saturday Night Live. We mean, she was fine, she certainly was no Charles Barkley, but she wasn’t Anne Hathaway either, if you know what we’re saying. (Obscure SNL host humor is the best kind of humor.) We could have done with at least one GOOP joke. Why was there no GOOP jokes? And we were psyched about Cee Lo Green until we realized that no one in America knew any songs of his except F*ck You, which of course had to be performed in its radio edit form, and also at one point as a bar-mitzvah song? Whatever, forget you! Pee-Wee Herman was there! And Anderson Cooper! Time for our favorite clips! Digital Short: Shots! (With Pee Wee Herman) Post from: Crushable |
