Beyoncé Does ‘W’ Magazine

Posted: 13 Jun 2011 04:30 PM PDT

Beyoncé is featured in the new issue of W magazine and altho the mag’s website has not yet been updated with her feature and/or photospread, scans of the magazine have made their way to the Internets. The shoot is very colorful, sexy and super stylish. Click below to see some of the photos from B‘s upcoming W magazine photospread.

I love the color palette of this shoot. I also love how sexy the photos are without being too sexy. Beyoncé takes a damn fine photo, that’s for sure. I’m really anxious to see the rest of the photos … and to read her feature article. Thus far, I really like what I see.

Dakota Fanning Is The Face Of Marc Jacobs’s New Fragrance ‘Oh, Lola’

Posted: 13 Jun 2011 03:30 PM PDT

Earlier today we got our first look at Angelina Jolie in her new promo ad for Louis Vuitton and right now we get to see Dakota Fanning in a new promo ad for Marc Jacobs fragrances. Jacobs is releasing a new scent called Oh, Lola and Dakota is the first celebrity spokesmodel for the fragrance. Click below to see Dakota‘s (racy?) new promo image for Oh, Lola.

Her little sis Elle may be making the red carpet rounds these days, but Dakota Fanning has her own fashionable gig: she's the face of Marc Jacobs's latest scent, Oh, Lola. "I've been a big fan of Dakota since the first time I saw her in a movie," Jacobs tells WWD. "When we were speaking about who to use in the Oh, Lola fragrance ads — I had recently seen The Runaways. Dakota was in it, and I knew she could be this contemporary Lolita, seductive yet sweet." The fragrance, which includes notes of raspberry, frais des bois, pear, magnolia, vanilla and more, is itself a Lolita — a sweeter "little sister" to Jacobs's successful and "seductive" Lola. Fanning, who recently graduated from high school, says she's honored to pose for the brand. "Every time one of Marc's fragrances comes out I run to the store to buy it," she tells WWD. "The moment I was asked to be a part of the Oh, Lola campaign, I was so humbled and said 'yes' immediately." Oh, Lola — available in various sizes from $48-$88 — will debut at Bloomingdale's stores July, and expand nationally in August, when Fanning's ads officially hit fashion magazines.

Some people have been making a fuss that Dakota is holding the over-sized flower bottle between her legs but I, honestly, don’t see anything wrong with the photo. Compared to most fragrance ads, this one looks really tame to me. What do y’all think … do you like this image?

‘Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows – Part 2′ Releases A Harry & Friends Poster

Posted: 13 Jun 2011 02:30 PM PDT

Previously we got to see individual character posters for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, including a WHOLE BATCH of posters all at once. Today we get to check out a new Harry Potter poster that has been released exclusively by Entertainment Weekly magazine. This new poster features not one but 3 Harry Potter characters … Harry and his BFFs Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley. Click below to check out this latest Deathly Hallows promo poster.

The one-sheets for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2 thus far have been exciting, bleak, and awesome all at once. Not to mention inclusive — so far, we've seen posters with our leads and some of our favorite supporting characters at Hogwarts. Now, EW has the exclusive on the latest Deathly Hallows poster, which, this time around, features the franchise's three stars: Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint. Looking at this fiery poster, it's hard to believe that all will be well.

Gah! Love this poster … I love all of the posters … but I really hate how quickly the end is coming. We are just shy of a month away from the FINAL film’s release. As for this poster … I think we all know what’s up … Harry and his friends fight the forces of evil … and it is an EPIC battle. Yes, I’m dying to see how the final film will look on the big screen but … ugh … I don’t want it to end :(

Lindsay Lohan Suffers Thru A House Arrest Rooftop Party

Posted: 13 Jun 2011 01:43 PM PDT

When last we checked in with Lindsay Lohan, she was suffering thru house arrest while posing for promo photos for electronic cigarettes … days after she had, apparently, invited the paparazzi into her home for an impromptu photo session. Today we learn that Lindsay is still suffering thru her house arrest sentence (which stems from her misdemeanor theft conviction and probation violation). Over the weekend, Lindsay invited some of her friends to suffer with her for a house arrest rooftop party at her beachfront home.

House arrest – or house party? Lindsay Lohan showed that she’s still a party girl at heart by throwing a barbecue bash on the rooftop of her Venice, Calif., townhouse on Sunday. The starlet, 24, joined by about 10 friends, was all smiles as she laughed and smoked cigarettes with her guests, according to the U.K.’s Daily Mail. Lohan was sentenced to four months in jail after pleading no contest to stealing a $2,500 necklace, but was found eligible for house arrest due to jail overcrowding and other factors. She’s expected to be released in about two and a half weeks. Although she’s not allowed to leave her home except for medical reasons, Lohan is legally allowed to invite visitors over without restrictions.

I, personally, can’t help but be pretty disgusted by the sight of Lindsay whooping it up with friends in her luxurious home when she should be paying for her crimes … but this is the way the justice system works. Of course, the vast majority of people who are punished for crimes do not get to suffer punishments nearly as luxurious and fun as Lindsay does but, well, who said the world was fair. At least we can take comfort in the fact that Lindsay is CLEARLY learning the error of her ways … right? These photos show that she is learning her lessons … right? Right?

Star Tours, At Last!!!

Posted: 13 Jun 2011 12:31 PM PDT

Yesterday afternoon, David and I met up with our good friends Jim and Derek for a double date at Disneyland and we had THE best time ever! Because Derek is a bona fide Disney expert, we made optimum use of our time at both California Adventure and Disneyland and we managed to do all of the things we wanted to do. We started our day at California Adventure and then park hopped over the Disneyland to end our perfect day. We got to do a few things that I have never done before … and it made all the difference in the world.

Because Jim had yet to ride the new Little Mermaid ride we did that first … then we attended the last performance of the Aladdin live show (that is ending this Summer so if you’ve yet to see it you MUST see it this Summer before it goes away for good). We ended our California Adventure visit on the swinging gondolas of Mickey’s Fun Wheel (which really should be called Mickey’s Wheel of Terror). Then we went over to Disneyland and were immediately met by Minnie Mouse (for photos) and then SUCCESSFULLY rode the newly improved Star Tours ride:

OMG … Stars Tours is AMAZING! We were all SO impressed with how real it felt. Because the ride experience is random, you likely will not get the same ride as other people. We went on a trip to the Wookie Planet :) So much fun. We ate and relaxed for a bit and then ended our night on Peter Pan’s Flight. It was the perfect Disney day not only because of the fun rides but because of the really fun company :)

Tonight, Darion and I are seeing Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester in concert at The Troubadour so that should be … fun? I dunno, we’ll see. Happy Monday, y’all!!

Warren Beatty Reveals That A Sequel To ‘Dick Tracy’ Is In The Works

Posted: 13 Jun 2011 11:05 AM PDT

21 years after Warren Beatty brought the comic book character Dick Tracy to life on the big screen, he is confirming that plans are in the works for a sequel film. Altho Beatty won’t go into specifics, he is making comments that make it clear that he is working behind the scenes on a sequel film. As you may recall, Dick Tracy starred Beatty in the lead role with Madonna as the female lead character Breathless Mahoney. It was the soundtrack of Dick Tracy that brought us the classic Madonna song Vogue. Click below to read what Warren Beatty has to say about his plans for a Dick Tracy 2.

Warren Beatty has confirmed a ‘Dick Tracy’ sequel in the works. The 74-year-old actor – who played the fedora-wearing detective in the 1990 movie, which he also directed – has admitted plans are in motion for a follow-up film, but doesn’t want to give too much information away because it’s “dumb” to talk about projects before they are made. He said: “I’m gonna make another one. I think it’s dumb to talk about movie before you make them. I just don’t do it. It gives you a perfect excuse to avoid making them. “The more you talk about it, the longer it’s hidden” … Speaking at the Hero Complex Film Festival, he said: “I always think of making a movie like vomiting. I don’t like to vomit. But I get to a point sometimes where I think, ‘OK, I better go ahead and do this and I’ll feel better.’ “When I finally get around to making a movie, that’s why. I think I’ll feel better if I make this movie.” ‘Dick Tracy’ – which also starred Madonna and Al Pacino – made $162 million at the box office worldwide on its release.

Soooooo … basically, Warren Beatty is saying that even tho he “doesn’t like” it, he’s going to “vomit” out another Dick Tracy film. Well, that sounds appetiszing. Ugh. While I feel that Warren Beatty could’ve found a more eloquent way of expressing himself, I think I understand what he is trying to convey with his sentiments. That said … does the world really need another Dick Tracy film? There was something really old skool about the original film back in 1990 that (intentionally) made the film feel dated back then … and I don’t recall that many people were clamoring to see the film except for the fact that it starred real life couple Madonna and Warren Beatty (well, mostly because of Madonna). I guess I don’t know how another film like that might set the box office afire in this day and age. If he’s really taking about a sequel, does that mean that the 74-year old actor plans to play Dick Tracy again? Does he want Madonna to play Breathless again? If not, if he’s planning on new actors to play the roles … isn’t he really talking about a reboot? I, personally, enjoyed Dick Tracy. It’s not my fave film ever but I really did like it. I think the film suffered because it came out in 1990, one year after the first Batman film came out in 1989. Batman set a very high benchmark for Summer blockbuster films. I’m very curious about this Dick Tracy sequel, to be honest. What do y’all think? Are any of y’all fans of the original 1990 film? Are you interested in a sequel?

Emma Watson Does ‘Vogue’ Magazine

Posted: 13 Jun 2011 10:12 AM PDT

Emma Watson, the female lead of the Harry Potter film franchise (which is, sadly, coming to a FINAL end next month) is featured on the cover and in the pages of the new issue of Vogue magazine. In her coverstory interview, Emma talks about her life during and after Harry Potter. Her accompanying photospread, shot by Mario Testino, is a bold, high fashion spectacle. Click below to check out Emma‘s Vogue cover, read some excerpts from her interview and check out some photos from her photospread.

Harry Potter actress Emma Watson has cast her magic once again and looks bewitching as a cover girl on the front of U.S. Vogue. The 21-year-old star look spellbinding as she flirts with the camera showing off her pixie haircut and blood red lipstick. With the Hogwarts franchise now behind her, the homegrown talent talks about life after broomsticks and growing up in the spotlight. In the interview, the Brit beauty reminisced about sharing relationship advice with co-star Daniel Radcliffe, saying: ‘We would help each other compose texts to our most recent flames.’ The English rose enjoyed a brief fling with One Night Only frontman George Craig, but has complained that her fame often interferes with her love life as men don’t approach her. Emma also said she struggles to live a normal life, hailing rock legend Patti Smith as her inspiration. Speaking of Patti’s 2010 memoir Just Kids, Emma said: ‘I want to live like Patti. I want to write like Patti. The book was so honest and brave. I loved the way she sees the world. I really felt that life was more beautiful after I read it and I felt more hopeful.’ Emma said that playing the role of Hermione was easy, as she is similar to the fictional character. ‘Hermione is so close to who I am as a person that I’ve never really had to research a role. I’m literally rediscovering what it means to be an actress.’ She added: ‘I have felt for the last ten years I have had this battle; I’ve been fighting so hard to have an education. It’s been this uphill struggle. I was Warner Bros’ pain in the butt. I was their scheduling conflict. I was the one who made life difficult.’ But despite her quest for a ‘normal life’, Emma announced she was leaving Brown University in March to defer her course for “a semester or two” while she helps promote the release of the second Deathly Hallows film. She is expected to return in the next academic year this autumn.

OMG … as if I couldn’t LOVE Emma Watson anymore, her appreciation of Patti Smith and her fantastic memoir just seals the deal for me. Emma Watson is not only one of the most talented young actresses in Hollywood right now but she has a maturity and intelligence far beyond her young years. You can read Emma‘s Vogue interivew HERE and pick up this issue of the magazine on June 21. As for the photospread … while I do believe that Emma looks beautiful, I’m not a fan of the severe make-up and styling. Emma can absolutely do high fashion … but this Vogue styling seems to wash her out too much. Still, she is a beauty and absolutely belongs on magazine covers. I’m so not ready for the end of Harry Potter next month … but I am looking forward to watching Emma Watson‘s final performance as Hermione Granger.

The 2011 Tony Awards Are Handed Out

Posted: 13 Jun 2011 09:17 AM PDT

Last night, at the Beacon Theatre in NYC, NY, the 2011 Tony Awards were handed out in celebration of the best of the best in musical and stage productions on Broadway and, unsurprisingly, the musical The Book of Mormon walked away with the most awards of the night. Collecting 9 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, The Book of Mormon cemented it’s stature as THE best offering from Broadway this season. Neil Patrick Harris brilliantly hosted the show last night and provided one of the more entertaining Tony Awards of recent memory. Click below to see some photos, read some deets and watch video from the Tony Awards show last night.

Voters for the 65th annual Tony Awards demonstrated their faith in The Book of MormonSunday night, showering the irreverent buddy comedy about two unworldly missionaries catapulted from Salt Lake City to a poverty-stricken Ugandan village with nine wins, including best musical. Broadcast live from the Beacon Theatre on New York’s Upper West Side, the ceremony was hosted by Neil Patrick Harris, marking his second turn at the Tony podium after winning an Emmy for emceeing in 2009. The Mormon haul represents the culmination of a triumphant first foray into Broadway by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, who teamed with Avenue Q composer-lyricist Robert Lopez to write the smash hit. Since opening March 24 at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre to rave reviews, Mormon has been playing to capacity houses, grossing more than $1 million per week and totaling roughly $15 million to date … The musical earned awards for Parker, Lopez and Stone’s book and score, and for Casey Nicholaw and Parker’s direction. “We really want to thank the audiences because you guys made the show what it is and I think you’re going to have to atone for it one day,” said Parker. While the show’s nominated lead actors Josh Gad and Andrew Rannells perhaps split the vote and both lost that award, Mormon’s Nikki M. James was a genuinely surprised winner for featured actress as a Ugandan with wide-eyed dreams of a magical kingdom in Utah. Top play honors went to War Horse, adapted by Nick Stafford, in association with South Africa’s Handspring Puppet Company, from the British children’s novel by Michael Morpurgo. The courageous story of a young farm boy from Devon who travels to the trenches of World War I France to be reunited with his beloved horse, the book also has been adapted for the screen by Richard Curtis and Lee Hall for Steven Spielberg’s upcoming feature. Originally produced by the National Theatre of Great Britain and presented on Broadway by Lincoln Center Theater and Bob Boyett, War Horse has been a major draw in New York, grossing around $900,000 per week — uncommonly high for a non-musical with no stars. Overall, the production took home six Tonys, including direction of a play for Marianne Elliott and Tom Morris, a handful of design awards and a special honor to Handspring founders Adrian Kohler and Basil Jones, who created the breathtaking life-size horse puppets … Larry Kramer’s impassioned 1985 battle cry against the AIDS epidemic, The Normal Heart, won best play revival for Joel Grey and George C. Wolfe’s powerful stripped-down production. It also won matching featured actor nods for John Benjamin Hickey and Ellen Barkin, making her Broadway debut. Both actors gave emotional speeches warmly acknowledging Kramer and his tireless fight against AIDS. “The freedom to love, the freedom to live and the freedom to marry are all issues that are still with us,” said producer Daryl Roth. “To gay people everywhere whom I love so, The Normal Heart is our history,” said Kramer. “I could not have written it had not so many of us so needlessly died. Learn from it and carry on the fight to let them know that we are a very special people, an exceptional people, and our day will come” … Featured actor in a musical went to multiple Emmy winner John Larroquette in his Broadway debut as the tycoon taken for a ride by Daniel Radcliffe’s ambitious young upstart in How to Success in Business Without Really Trying. Harris opened the ceremony with a showstopper about Broadway as an all-inclusive place, called “It’s Not Just For Gays Anymore,” with cameo contributions from audience members Stephen Colbert, Brooke Shields(who flubbed her Anthony Weiner joke but was a good sport about it) and Bobby Cannavale.

I absolutely knew that The Book of Mormon was going to do well at the Tonys because it is, unquestionably, the best production of the year. I got to see the show on the first night of previews back in February and was completely blown away by how great the show truly is. In case you missed it, here is video of the Tony Award performance of I Believe from The Book of Mormon:

And if that isn’t enough for you, you can click HERE to buy the Book of Mormon soundtrack from Amazon for $1.99!! Congrats goes out to Matt Stone and Trey Parker for bringing their magic to Broadway … and congrats and love goes out to all the 2011 Tony Award winners!

First Look: Angelina Jolie Is The New Face Of Louis Vuitton

Posted: 13 Jun 2011 08:31 AM PDT

Actress Angelina Jolie has been revealed as the new face of the Louis Vuitton fashion brand as her new promo ad is released today. While it is not really a big surprise that Jolie has been chosen as the new face of LV (rumors have been going around for a while now that she got the gig), I find it very surprising that in her first promo image for the company she is wearing her own clothes, posing with her own LV bag AND is wearing no make-up at all! Check out the photo below.

The rumors were true: Angelina Jolie is indeed the new face of Louis Vuitton. The actress's first ad for the company's "Core Values" campaign was released today, featuring the star afloat on a boat in Cambodia's Siem Reap province. Wearing her own clothes, no makeup and her own years-old monogrammed Alto bag, Jolie looks at peace in her photograph. "People are not used to seeing Angelina in this situation," Vuitton's executive vice president Pietro Beccari tells WWD. "I like the fact that it's a real moment. This travel message we give through personal journeys is a fundamental one for the brand. This campaign is about a very special person and a very special journey." In fact, Cambodia is the country from which Jolie adopted eldest son Maddox, and where she and partner Brad Pitt later established a foundation in the 9½-year-old's name … Jolie's ad will break in the International Herald Tribune Wednesday, and is expected to run in various publications for about 18 months. And though the handbag she carries in her ad is no longer in production, Jolie's love of the piece is causing the company to consider "re-editing" it, Beccari says.

Now, I’m sure many people will be dubious of the news that Angelina is wearing no make-up in this photo but I totally believe it. That said, I’m certain that the photo has been digitally retouched — just like every other promo image — to ensure that Ange looks flawless. Still, I really love that Angelina not only decided not to get made-up but that she also decided to wear her own clothes and feature her own bag. I am all kind of crazy about this ad campaign. I can’t wait to see more photos of Angelina Jolie for Louis Vuitton. What do y’all think … do you love this photo?

Revealed: The Setlist For Britney Spears’s ‘Femme Fatale’ Tour

Posted: 13 Jun 2011 07:37 AM PDT

After a select number of people (including me) got to attend the private friends and family only rehearsal of Britney Spears‘s upcoming Femme Fatale Tour (which kicks off in Sacramento, CA this Thursday), a couple of incorrect setlists started to get posted online. Because we are just days away from the tour kickoff, I have decided to share the correct setlist that I personally kept track off from the rehearsal last Friday night so as to clear up all the confusion. Additionally, the British morning news program Daybreak managed to get a NEW interview with Britney and BritneySpears.com released a NEW behind the scenes video that features a LOT of tour secrets from the tour rehearsals. There are a lot of Femme Fatale Tour spoilers below … so check ‘em out if you dare.
