KELLY ROWLAND'S FATHER: Please Forgive Me!

Well isn't this convenient.  Kelly Rowland's birth father--who left her at a young age--is coming out of the woodwork and making a public plea for her forgiveness.  And he's doing so through the press, of course.

 

What Kelly's dad, Christopher Lovett, just told the tabloids when you read on....

"Kelly, I love you with all my heart," the Sunday Mirror quotes him as saying. "Please forgive me and let me be your dad again."

Here we go.  After almost 2 decades in the public eye, and after spending part of her childhood growing up in her former group mate Beyonce's home, Kelly Rowland's birth father, who she says she remembers as an aggressive drunk, is now reaching out. 

Kelly's been open about her relationship with her father, or lack thereof, which caused her and her mother to deal with seriously hard times.  And led to Kelly moving in with Beyonce and the Knowles family while they began their girl group.

Reportedly, Kelly's father, Christopher, is 65 now and reveals he lost his job and fell into a drunken depression during her youth.  When the family was evicted from their home when Kelly was 7, Christopher parted ways with Kelly and her mother, Doris.

He now supposedly tells the Sunday Mirror:

"The failure to provide for my ­family fuelled an anger that I will be ashamed of until my dying day... No parent should scream and shout in front of their child, and I am sorry to say there were too many times to ­mention that Kelly heard me ­screaming abuse at her mother. Sometimes she would run to her ­bedroom screaming, others she would cling to my trouser leg begging me to stop.

"I really hoped I would get to make it up to her. Sadly I am still waiting for that day. But I can't give up hope. That's why there is a room in my house which I have decorated especially for Kelly, just in case she comes through the front door."

He went on to describe what really happened--according to him--with him and Kelly's mother:

“I loved her from the moment she took her first breath. I ­remember as clear as day Kelly and I singing together, from the moment she could talk. Our ­favourite songs were by Stevie Wonder. I would put one headphone in my ear and the other in hers and we would sing and sing, so happy to be together.

“But then I lost my job at a ­transportation company, sank into a depression about money and began drinking more and more. The failure to provide for my ­family fuelled an anger that I will be ashamed of until my dying day.

“It wasn’t physical between me and Kelly’s mum, but there were many days and nights when Kelly would be bawling her eyes out, clutching my leg begging me, ‘Please daddy stop shouting at mummy’. That image of her howling, begging me to stop will haunt me forever.

He also revealed his attempts of trying to find Kelly when she was younger, but he claims he was constantly shut out by Kelly's aunts and family:

“When Doris ­challenged me, I would just lose it. No parent should scream and shout in front of their child, and I am sorry to say there were too many times to ­mention that Kelly heard me ­screaming abuse at her mother. Sometimes she would run to her ­bedroom screaming, others she would cling to my trouser leg begging me to stop. When the ­electricity was cut off and we ­received an eviction letter we agreed for Doris to take Kelly to her aunt’s house while I sorted things out.

“Little did I know the day they left would be the last time I would see my wife and ­daughter ever again.

“Every time I phoned her aunt’s house she told me Kelly and her mum were out. I had no job, no money, no car and just no way of getting the 20 miles to where they were staying.

“When six months had passed I begged a friend for a ride to her aunt’s house and she told me they had moved to Texas. I begged her to give me an ­address, but she flat-out refused.” For the next 23 years, ­Christopher did ­everything he could to find Kelly, who will appear on the X Factor in August. He says: “I knew I had to stop drinking, get a job or I would never see my ­daughter again.

“And I did.

“But by then it was too late and they were gone, the two people I loved with all my heart and that tore me up and still does today.” At one point he drove 800 miles to ­Texas and walked from hotel to ­hotel in a failed attempt to find Kelly and her mother.
 

He also clams to have bought a ticket to a Destiny's Child concert and drove 8 hours to see her in North Carolina once he "heard she was singing":

“I sat for the whole concert in one of the cheap seats at the back with tears of joy and utter despair ­rolling down my face. I wrote a note and begged a security guard to pass it to her.

“It said, ‘Darling I have been looking for you. I am so proud of you and I love you so much and I just long to tell you that in ­person. Love Dad’. But no matter how much I begged the guard he would not believe I was her father.” Christopher – who has framed Destiny’s Child ­posters on the walls of the Atlanta home he shares with his second wife Gracie – says he wants nothing from his daughter.

 

Kelly, who is busy trotting around the UK hosting 'X-Factor UK", has spoken in the past about her father saying:

"I don't know where he is but I hope he's not dead. That would break my heart.

"I remember my dad being drunk and aggressive towards my mom but not me. I don't know if he knows who I am or what I've done. He must be hiding under a rock if he doesn't."

Hopefully Kelly can work things out if that's what she truly wants.  We just don't want to see this get publicly ugly as similar stories have ended up....

Celebs and their kiddies headed out to the 22nd Annual Time For Heroes Celebrity Picnic to benefit The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation yesterday afternoon at Wadsworth Theater in L.A.

How cute is that Violet!  The 1 and a half year old partook in some arts and crafts and smiled for the paps with mommy Christina Milian.

FOOLISH ACTIVITIES: Katt Williams ARRESTED For Tractor Trailor Attack

Katt Williams is back up to his antics again.  This time--he (and his 3 "lady friends") got into a rock throwing match with a man driving a tractor.  Sigh.

 

Deets inside....

TMZ reports the comedian was staying at a Palmdale, CA home this weekend when he blocked in a man driving a tractor trailor who was doing work on the house.  But not before three of Katt's "lady friends" ran over to attack the tractor and pelted the driver with rocks and dirt clods.

The driver--who suffered injuries to his face--called the Sheriff.  And the women were soon arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and Katt was busted for felony intimidating a witness.  Katt was released the same night on $50,000 bail.  No word on why anybody decided to attack this tractor trailor driver yet.  But did Katt pimp these chicks into doing his dirty work?

Is this life Katt Williams?  I mean, what's REALLY going on?

Lil' Kim Works The NYC Nightlife + Mya Rocks The Rainbow At Gay Pride In L.A.

Over the weekend Lil' Kim watched her mom get married and performed in NYC with NY nightlife queen Amanda Lepore.  Meanwhile, Mya went over the rainbow for LA's Gay Pride.  See the pics inside.....

Kim was outfitted in a tight black dress and tons of diamonds for a concert she performed over the weekend for hundreds of fans on NYC's upper west side. 

 

She kicked it with photographer David LaChappelle and legendary Nightlife club queen Amanda Lepore at Club 57 at Providence afterwards.

And clearly Kim brings out the diva in everybody.

Earlier in the day, Lil' Kim participated in their mother's wedding. She tweeted, "I asked my Dad if he would give my Mom away lol.. He just stared at me...lmao!!".

Lil' Kim posed with family and friends while at the wedding and her brother also participated.  Interesting.

 

And in LA.....

R&B singer Mya took the stage for day 2 of LA Gay Pride 2011 wearing rainbow pride heels.  Didn't know this chick was still in the mix.

The concert was held at West Hollywood Park.  And it looks like she....tried her best....

SPOTTED: Rihanna & Drake Head Out For A Dinner Date

Reunited again....but off stage this time.  Rihanna brought her ex-boo Drake out on stage at her Toronto tour stop several days ago.  But last night, the Canadian native was spotted leaving Rihanna's Montreal hotel room as they headed off for dinner.

Rihanna threw on her white sneakers and denim shirt under her jacket and her denim Prada bag for dinner at Buonanotte Restaurant in downtown Montreal.

And Drake was spotted heading out separately:

Rih tweeted last night, along with saying "Montreal's the sh*t," that her controversial "Man Down" vid reached 20,153,637 million views on VEVO and Youtube.

BABY ON THE WAY! Tia Mowry & Cory Hardrict Get Baby Shower Love!

Over the weekend, Tia Mowry and her husband Cory Hardrict hosted a baby shower to celebrate the upcoming July birth of their baby boy. 

 

We've got pics of the glowing mommy-to-be, her hubby, her twin sis Tamera, and friends all celebrating inside....

The Morwy-Hardrict baby shower was sponsored by Disney Baby and held at the London Hotel in West Hollywood over the weekend. 

And at the posh party, guests (who received the cute invitation above) snacked on mini cupcakes and a red velvet cake from the Sweet E's Bake Shop.   

A source told PEOPLE.com that the couple received a slew of gifts toys from upscale baby stores like Petit Tresor, a Bebe pod, baby cookbooks, and a nursing cover from Bebe au Lait. Tia told E! News,

"I did not expect this at all, it's absolutely gorgeous, and I know that's what he'll be using first, because he'll be in my room and all that good stuff, so I can't wait to use that to put him to sleep!,"

Tia really enjoyed the shower saying,

"My favorite part about the shower…I think seeing everybody—all my family, all my friends. I feel so loved," Tia told E! News. "They all showed up for a very important time and moment in my life. My husband made a little ‘guest appearance,' and it was cute how he came in the room and then everyone started applauding him and that was beautiful."

 

And once the shower was over, mommy-to-be tweeted:

"Going to bed and had an amazing day. Thanks again to all who came out for the shower :) love you all xoxo."

 

Tia's fabulous twin sister, Tamera, was by her side at the party wearing a multi-colored Rachel Roy dress.

Fitness trainer Jeanette Jenkins tweeted a pic of herself with both Tia and Tamera from the party. 

Tia's "The Game" co-stars Wendy Raquel Robinson and Brittany Daniel were at the shower also.  Cute!

Celebs headed to the Chi to perform at B96's Pepsi SummerBash on Saturday.  Chris Brown, Keri Hilson, the New Boyz, and more all hit the stage for their midwest fans.

The Dallas Mavericks Win Their 1st NBA Championship!

The Dallas Mavericks walked away with their first NBA Championship title tonight, defeating the Miami Heat (105-95). Deets inside...

Earlier tonight, the Dallas Mavericks hit American Airlines arena in Miami and beat Lebron and the Heat in Game 6.  They walked away with the NBA Championship title, the first in Dallas' history.

Players Jason Terry and Shawm Marion (who has a reality show he's working on coming out soon) got excited with the trophy.

 

And--of course--Dirk Nowitzki grabbed the MVP title.  Congrats to the team!

SPOTTED: Beyonce Arriving In Nice, France!

Beyonce's on the move and was spotted arriving in Nice, France today.  We've got pics of her Charlie Chaplin-inspired white blazer and black pants and black hat look when you read on...

Beyonce was seen arriving in Nice, France earlier today.  She was rocking some interesting shades by Illesteva Leonard 3's in Matte Horn.


 

She rocked a white blazer over black pants and some hot black pumps with a killer white heel.

The straw hat wearing singer brought Mama tina along as well.

During a recent interview, Bey opened up about her mom saying:

"She was my first example of what a powerful woman is," the confessed 'mommy's girl' said. "She shaped my thinking not so much by what she said, but what she did. My mother taught me the principles of hard work, setting my own goals and visualizing my future."

Sweet.


 

Next week, Bey will be headlining the Glastonbury festival.
