| LAX Shooting Crime Scene Revealed In Twitter Photo Posted: 01 Nov 2013 12:56 PM PDT According to reports, this was the scene just after the Terminal 3 shooting at LAX today. We reported that a man entered the airport, pulled a rifle from a bag, and opened fire. He then exchanged fire with police before being shot and apprehended. This photo (below) from Twitter is believed to be the weapon used by the suspect, an AR-15 assault rifle. We do not yet know whether it was purchased legally or not. | Posted: 01 Nov 2013 12:30 PM PDT This is all so sad! Officials have released new details about this morning's horrible shooting at LAX, and the situation is just as tragic as we feared. In a press conference just minutes ago, L.A.'s mayor Eric Garcetti said:
The mayor also cautioned locals to "stay away from the airport" for logistical reasons. He also said people shouldn't worry about the safety of loved ones who were at the airport that they can't get in touch with because "those folks may be in the air right now." The gunman, who reportedly operated alone, used an assault rifle. Chief of Airport Police Patrick Gannon described how the incident went down. He explained:
It's unclear to what extent the suspect may be injured, but Gannon implied one of his officers was justified in using his gun. Other news agencies report that the suspect is a man in his early 20s, a U.S. citizen, and possibly has ties to the TSA, but officials were asked about that specifically and refused to confirm any of it. Again, if you partied hard last night and are just waking up, there was a deadly shooting this morning at Los Angeles International Airport and an entire terminal was evacuated. News agencies are reporting that one TSA agent was shot and killed and that three more are being treated at UCLA Medical Center (with one in critical condition), but officials are not confirming that at all. | LAX Shooting Suspect Reportedly Shot By Police, Condition Unconfirmed Posted: 01 Nov 2013 11:29 AM PDT This horrible incident seems to be at an end. And it ended the way it began- with gunfire. Multiple sources are reporting that police were forced to exchange fire with the shooter before taking him into custody. As we previously reported, the terminal was evacuated after gunfire was heard. Police sources say they took action at approximately 9:30 AM. After a brief exchange, authorities reportedly shot the suspect before apprehending him. Posted: 01 Nov 2013 11:28 AM PDT Planes are landing at LAX once again only to discover the tragedy of the shooting that took place this morning. And one person who landed to the scary news was Nick Jonas who just arrived at the airport. He took to Twitter to report what it was like when he arrived on a flight. He tweeted:
