IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Kanye Praises Lenny Kravitz During Cringe-Worthy Concert Rant....While Lenny Was In The Audience! Posted: 26 Nov 2013 08:40 AM PST   Kanye had some words about Lenny Kravitz and his fashion game at his Sunday Yeezus concert at Madison Square Garden.  And while they weren't necessarily negative words, the rant reportedly made Lenny cringe..as he was right there in the audience!   Check out Yeezy's rant about the fashion industry (yep, another one) and more inside.... In case you missed it, Yeezus informed the world why he's the "Tupac of this fashion ish" and "The #1 rock star on the planet" at his Sunday concert in New York.  Part of his explanation was about how Lenny Kravitz opened the door for him to come and and take over the fashion world internationally.  Except Yeezy told the thousands of concert goers that Lenny was laughed at by the fashion gods in Paris.  Maybe Lenny didn't know all that... Kanye said on stage: “It’s so funny when people compliment me and they say the word ‘genius’ as if that somehow separates me from other rappers in some way . . . I need you all to realize that Jay Z is a genius, and Drake is a genius . . . we are the modern day poets, obviously.” He continued, “There wouldn’t be no song called ‘N****s in Paris’ without Lenny Kravitz, because he was the first n**** in Paris. Lenny has the best taste and the dopest crib in Paris . . . he designs furniture and he had been working on a clothing line for a long time . . . I said, ‘Wait a second, I’ve got a dream of doing a clothing line.’ You know what the billionaires told me while I was in Paris? They said Lenny wanted the same thing, like it was a joke. . . There wouldn’t be no Kanye West if it wasn’t for Lenny Kravitz. The only difference is I turn up on those n****s, I don’t give a [bleep] about looking cool or being cool, and this is no disrespect to Lenny.” The NY Post reports Lenny was embarrassed by it all: While an embarrassed Kravitz was heard saying, “He doesn’t know I’m here,” Kanye continued, “Have you heard anyone talk [bleep] about Lenny Kravitz? He’s a nice guy, he’s so well mannered. I envy people who are extremely likeable, I’m like, ‘Damn, I wish I could be likable like that.’ ” Only 'Ye.  Mr. West heads to Nashville tomorrow night to continue the tour.   And speaking of Lenny, he's currently starring in the #1 movie Hunger Games: Catching Fire.  And he spoke to HuffPost Black Voices about how much the music industry has changed: It’s different, but you just have to adapt. I’m looking forward to doing it a new way. I’m not letting it bring me down. Yeah, records don’t sell what they used to sell, but you have to keep moving and figure out how to break through no matter what the circumstances are. And yes, he's got a new studio album on the way (that he MAY be releasing independently this time): It’s a real strip down, rock and roll album. With some horns here and there, but really big sounding and strip down. Very up-beat, very sexy…It’s a real interesting balance between classic rock and today’s sound. NEW BESTIES? Nicki Minaj Holds Hands With Khloe Kardashian After Dinner & Drake's Concert + Tyga Rolls To Concert With Scott Disick Posted: 26 Nov 2013 07:57 AM PST Has Malika Haqq been pushed to the side by Khloe Kardashian for Nicki Minaj?  Probably not.  As we do think that long time friendship is truly genuine.  But it looks like Khloe got her own new "bestie" who looks similar to her sister's new "bestie" Blac Chyna.  Anything to be down, right?  Sigh.   Check the pics inside and the rest of the new clique who rolled to Drake's concert and dinner.... Last night, Drake made a "Would You Like A Tour?"  stop in L.A.  And his Young Money crew was there to support.  But it's who the YMCMB folks were chillin' with that's raising some eyebrows.  Nicki Minaj was spotted spending the evening with Khloe Kardashian...apparently new friends ARE allowed in the clique. The two have been known to exchange tweets of admiration and share a makeup artist. After the concert, Nicki, Khloe and Scott Disick headed to dinner at Phillipe's (Nicki's manager Manny Halley's spot).   And Nicki hid her face from the paparazzi as she headed out holding hands with Khloe.  What are you hiding from Nicki? Nicki posted pics of herself with Drizzy and the K's saying, "My dressing room tonite @ Drizzy's show... If u only knew the craziness going on behind the scenes of this pic. Hilarious. Love them!"   Scott was spotted arriving to the concert with his new homie Tyga, as the two have become the newest besties of Kanye West. Did Scott raid Kanye's closet? DATE NIGHT: Chanel Iman & A$AP Rocky Cuddle Up In Cold In NYC, Hit "Mandela" Screening Posted: 26 Nov 2013 06:49 AM PST It is officially BRICK in NYC (that means ridiculously cold for those of you who live in warmer parts).  So rapper A$AP Rocky bundled up with his model girlfriend Chanel Iman last night as they headed to a screening of the Mandela movie.   Pics inside...   These two still appear to be going strong.  Chanel Iman and ASAP Rocky were spotted arm-in-arm in the NYC streets last night on their way to a screening of Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, hosted by U2, Anna Wintour and Bob & Harvey Weinstein, with Burberry at the Ziegfeld Theater. Kelly Rowland ENGAGED To Manager Tim Witherspoon Posted: 26 Nov 2013 05:51 AM PST Sources close to Kelly Rowland have reportedly confirmed her engagement to manager Tim Witherspoon.  Get the deets inside... "When Love Takes Over" singer Kelly Rowland has gotten engaged to her manager Tim Witherspoon, this according to US Weekly.   "She has been showing [the ring] off to friends and family and is very happy. She wants to...enjoy [it] and celebrate for a bit longer." We told you about our suspicions a few days ago when a large ring was spotted on her hand during a birthday video she taped for a friend.   Luckily for Tim, Kelly has already aired out her "Dirty Laundry" and has moved on to a better place in her life.    We're keeping our eye out for an official confirmation from the couple. Nas & Tyrese Bring The Sexy To "106 & Park" Posted: 25 Nov 2013 09:16 PM PST Nas & Tyrese are busy promoting their new flick Black Nativity (which comes out Thanksgiving Day).  So they stopped by "106 & Park" to chop it up with Bow Wow and Keisha Chante about the possibility of a collabo album and how they brought some realness to the film.... Two of your sexy faves made their way to "106 & Park" Monday night": The fellas said they're not ruling out a "Best of Both Worlds" style album between the two of them after working together on Black Nativity.  Nas said he did the movie because Langston Hughes (who wrote the original gospel spiritual the movie is based on) is one of his fave poets.  Tyrese said his co-star Forest Whitaker and also Denzel Washington (who he has yet to work with) are his all time favorites.  So Forest was the reason he did this film. INTERVIEWS: Kanye West And His Chick CHAT IT UP On Hot 97, Kanye ANNOUNCES Adidas Venture & Says He'll Be BIGGER Than Wal-Mart! Posted: 25 Nov 2013 05:07 PM PST Kanye West and Kim Kardashian did NY radio today and we have highlights from interviews with Hot 97 and 92.3 Now.  Read about Kanye's new Adidas venture and why we (his fans) should boycott Louis Vuitton inside... Kim Kardashian and Kanye West (above) were seen leaving a radio station on Monday afternoon where Ye did a quick radio tour to promote his Yeezus Tour. In addition to a stop at 92.3Now, Yeezy stopped by Hot 97's Angie Martinez's show where he revealed a new venture with Adidas (where he'll collect royalties).  His girl Kim was part of the interview too apparently.  As expected, Kanye went on several rants and we were about to catch a few Kanye quotables..... What he told NIKE when they said they couldn't give him a royalty (on the Yeezys) because he wasn't a professional athlete: “I go to the Garden one on none!" (Meaning he's at the Garden selling out by himself every night...but atheletes do so as a team.) On getting in trouble with the media: "What do I get in the most trouble for? Telling the truth. If I get in trouble for telling the truth, what are you being told the rest of the time?" Kim K on how Kanye is as a parent "His face lights up when he's with our daughter and he is the most amazing dad ever." Kanye on his new deal with Adidas: “I am going to be the TuPac of product....I am going to be the first hip hop designer. And because of that, we gonna be bigger than Wal-Mart." On meditating with Deepak Chopra “You know what calms me down the most? Success. You can’t meditate me out of my ideas.” On the Hollywood Walk of Fame "The only relevant thing to happen to the Hollywood Walk Of Fame is that she wants a star. (Kim) and I talked about it." On who he should compare himself to: "I do myself a disservice comparing myself to Steve Jobs and Albert Einstein, I should compare myself to Willy Wonka." Oh 'Ye...   And on 92.3 NOW..... During an interview on 92.3 Now, Kanye West called for a boycott of Louis Vuitton.  Why?  He was offended that the head of LV didn't meet with him. Seriously.   He said, “While I was in Paris I wanted to meet the head of Louis Vuitton and he said ‘I don’t understand why we need to meet with you?’ I said let me explain to you why you need to meet with me,” he said before sending out a message to his fans. “Everybody in New York City right now, don’t buy any Louis Vuitton until after January… Now do you wanna meet with me? "Getting On" is set in the women's extended-care facility of a Long Beach hospital and follows the lives of put-upon nurses and doctors as they struggle with the darkly comic realities of caring for the elderly in an overwhelmed healthcare system. Niecy co-stars with Laurie Metcalf ("Roseanne") and Alex Borstein ("MADTV").   In a recent promo shoot for the series, Niecy posed for photographer Rob Ector.   Niecy served up "Preacher's Wife/FIrst Lady" realness in this pose. And everyone is freakin' stunning. The hourlong conversation will air as a PBS special in December and features the actresses giving advice and talking about their ups and downs. Here a snippet that lead Oprah to tears..... Whose career would you love to emulate? NYONG'O: Hold on. (Takes a tissue.) When I was a little girl, the first time I thought I could be an actor was when I watched The Color Purple. WINFREY: Oh my God, give me a tissue. NYONG'O: I grew up in Kenya, and a lot of our programming was from all over the world, and we didn't see ourselves onscreen. It was very rare that you'd see people that look like me. And there was Whoopi Goldberg and Oprah and everything. It's so meaningful to be sitting here beside you. Danity Kane Talks Comeback Concerts + Day 26 Is BACK For A "Reunion Tour" Posted: 25 Nov 2013 02:44 PM PST     When Danity Kane's comeback plans got put on hold once Chris Brown was arrested a few weeks ago and had to cancel the show DK would be performing at, they've had to regroup and come up with a new plan.   Check out their new comeback plans inside, plus Day 26 is getting in on the comeback game as well.... Do you miss sexy Willie Taylor, Que, and the rest of Day 26?  Well, those fellas are back.  They announced a reunion tour today via press release saying: The time has finally come and it's official. Promoters, radio stations, bloggers, magazines be a part of this amazing reunion that the fans been begging for "DAY26 THE REUNION TOUR" Featuring all 5 members of the group & Donnie Klang & DeAngelo Redman/members from making of the band 4..All together on 1 Stage for the world to enjoy. Yes...they're even bringing DONNIE (the other guy that had an MTV reality show under Diddy's reign).  The guys are looking to hit the House of Blues and other places in several cities.  That is, if they get booked.  We shall see.       And Diddy's other group he created--Danity Kane--is back on track with their own comeback tour.  They posted to their Facebook page: Our first live concert in 5 years will be at House of Blues Sunset Strip in LA on DECEMBER 16, 2013! B*TCH STOLE MY LOOK: Rapper's Former Manager Accuses Rihanna Of STEALING "Jeweled Doobie" Look! Posted: 25 Nov 2013 09:25 AM PST Rihanna's jeweled doobie has irked a few folks. But there's one person in particular who claims RiRi jacked another artist's swagger.   Meet the lady who allegedly inspired the look inside.... On social media, Rihanna's AMA hairdo caused quite the stir. And today, we received an interesting email from the former manager of a rapper who claims HER artist started this look. And Rihanna jacked it! We were tipped off about Patwa, a Bronx born 2nd generation Jamaican American,  who fused hip hop, reggae and culture into her music (much like Rihanna).  As a part of her "look", Patwa embraced the doobie with jeweled pins to signify she was a Queen and this was her ghetto crown. But here's the thing...Patwa and her manager were told by Def Jam execs that her look was too hood and White America wouldn't embrace it. Though Patwa was offered a development (if she agreed to soften up her image), she walked away from the industry. But now, former manager Trumaine Ferguson is speaking out about Rihanna and expressing outrage about what happens when someone with money, power and fame rips you off and you can't do anything about it. During 2010 we began generating a buzz in the underground hip hop community. This lead to a couple of meeting with some big wigs at def jam, Geffen, Atlantic and yes Roc nation who manages Rihanna. While meeting with A&Rs with these labels we were continuously told that the imagery we were trying to brand was not "lady like" was "to street", "to hood" and "to ghetto" we were told that "white America would never get behind such ignorance". Ratchetness had yet to become an accepted house hold term. The image we were trying to run with was what Patwa knew from the streets which was the doobie wrap. She wore it proudly with jeweled pins to signify she was a Queen and this was her ghetto crown. Something that many females coming from where she came from could relate to. You know when you get that hair wrapped you feel like the Bomb You just got your hair did no one could tell you nothing. And she told us about a chance encounter with Rihanna that may have inspired her AMA look: "Fast forward to 11/24/13 and who do I see grace my flat screen while sitting in my modest one bedroom apartment wearing a doobie wrap with jeweled pins at the AMA's. Roc nations own RiRi. I honestly felt violated. You see during 2011 Patwa and I crossed paths with Rihanna at a Roc Nation event. Rihanna, who on that evening was wearing a hairstyle that she "borrowed" from Cassie, complimented the jeweled pin wrap said it looked nice and even inquired as to who did it? We of course were flattered out of our socks and felt almost validated. Two years later it appears middle America is ready and Rihanna really liked what she saw. By no means did we invent the doobie wrap or name. However prior to the AMA's no one had attempted to wear the doobie as a hairstyle in public. No one!!!!!! I just find it very insulting that something we brought to those people was too "ghetto". But now Rihanna can accept awards while proudly displaying it. I am really hurt by this and wanted to scream." SMH.....we share her frustration. But for other reasons. On some level, every artist's stylist/choreographer/image consultant was inspired by someone else. Unfortunately, those "inspirations" will never get the credit they deserve. It sucks. But what could Rihanna have done differently?  Given a shout out to the hood in the middle of her acceptance speech...and to the chick she saw years ago wearing it?   Watch Patwa's "Ain't No Sunshine" clip that "allegedly" inspired Rihanna....      The Randomness: 1.  Kobe Bryant signs two-year extension with La Lakers.  Story. 2.  Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose will miss the remainder of the 2013-14 season because of a torn medial meniscus in his right knee.
