Chaka Khan Spotted Fresh From REHAB, Shoots Down Rumors Of A Fight With Lindsay Lohan

Singer Chaka Khan recently completed a rehab program for an addiction to prescription medication, but shoots down rumors created by certain websites that she fought with Lindsay Lohan while in rehab. See her statement inside....

 photo article-0-1B360C50000005DC-609_634x853.jpg

We were shocked when we heard rumors that  legendary singer Chaka Khan (shown atop, arriving back in LA this week) had fought with troubled actress Lindsay Lohan while in rehab! Because Chaka kept her rehab stint very private, we weren't sure this had happened.  But it turns out, Chaka did seek treatment for a recent addiction.  But the fight....was just a nasty lie.

During Lindsay Lohan's 90-day stint at Cliffside Malibu (a residential treatment program), Chaka was also there, battling an addiction to pain pills. The "I'm Every Woman" singer released a statement saying,

"I applaud Lindsay Lohan for doing the work. She is a lovely young lady and I pray for her well-being. The battle of addiction is a serious and long process, which is why I chose to address my use of prescription medications—which came about as a result of the knee surgery I had a few years ago.

When and if necessary, I will seek alternative methods and traditional treatment to stay ahead of any potential problem. So many are not here today, and have lost this battle with addiction. Because these medications are legal, their abuse is often unknown—until it's too late. If not handled they are a silent killer.”"

So now that we know Chaka was in rehab, let's get to this rumored fight with Lindsay.  Based on the twitter feeds of both divas, we find it hard to believe they had any beef.

And.....we're glad both women got the help they needed.

FIRST PIC Of Usher V (Cinco) Since NEAR-DROWNING ACCIDENT

Posted: 09 Aug 2013 08:30 AM PDT

 photo trig.png

Tameka Raymond posted of pic of herself holding her young son, Usher Raymond V, following his near-fatal drowning accident.  See the photo inside and get the deets on the Raymond vs. Raymond custody battle that's about to heat up.....

If you've been following Tameka Raymond's timeline, you've watched her face many challenges over the past few years.  Recently, we've seen her go through a nasty divorce from Usher and then watched her handle the sudden death of her son Kile Glover.

And while many of us were scratching our heads when she lost custody of her sons with Usher, we're amazed that this latest incident (Cinco's near drowning) didn't have her sitting on the streets of downtown Atlanta with a sign.

She's kept her cool and calmness in a horrible situation, so it seems.  But Tameka doesn't have time to go cray crhttp://50.56.9.147/sites/all/modules/fckeditor/fckeditor/editor/skins/de...); background-position: 0px -304px;" alt="" />ay because she's gearing up for battle.  She's due in family court later today where she'll attempt to regain primary custody of her son (while Usher is on tour).  But of course....there are still a few hurdles to jump over.

Mainly, Tameka tried to serve Usher's Aunt Rena with a subpoena, so she'd have to explain to a judge how the accident happened on her watch, seeing that she was supposed to be babysitting and all. But apparently....Aunt Rena can't be found!  But that won't stop Raymond vs. Raymond from popping off later today......

And for all concerned fans and friends, Tameka posted a pic of Cinco in the hospital with a message.  She thanked God and the angels who saved her son's life.  She posted,

"My favorite 5 year old. What a blessing! I have always loved and appreciated my sons but tragedies and close calls make this even more evident. URV had an angel named Kile Ishmael and our Lord and true savior to look after him. Words cannot express the relief and how thankful to God I truly am. Thank you Jehovah God, Jesus and Kile...also The AV worker that saved my son is my Hero!!! Period"

We will stay on high alert and keep you posted about today's showdown in family court.

WHO RAN IT?!: Tamar Braxton VS. Skylar Diggins In Diane Von Furstenberg

Posted: 09 Aug 2013 07:49 AM PDT

 photo tamarvsskylar_zpsbcb2104f.jpg

Tamar Braxton glammed it up in Diane Von Furstenberg around 4AM this morning for the live broadcast of the Steve Harvey Morning radio show in Vegas.  But Skylar Diggins rocked this DVF look first in the Hamptons.  Decide who ran it inside....

Tamar Braxton wore a Diane Von Furstenberg black & nude lace jumpsuit to perform on Steve Harvey this morning at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center.  The 36-year-old sang live during the 3AM-7AM broadcast straight from Vegas, and she didn't skimp on the glam factor for her 4AM performance.  Tamar rocked a pendant necklace, bracelets and rings to complete the look.

But 23-year-old WNBA star Skylar Diggins rocked this cute DVF jumpsuit first a few weeks ago at the 14th Annual Art For Life Benefit.  While posing it up with her fellow Roc Nation teammate Melanie Fiona, Skylar kept her arms & neckline bare as she rocked a gold clutch and cris crossed sandals.

So....

 photo PictureDeviceIndependentBitmap2_zpsea0ee928.jpg

The drama continues when the entire cast of “Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta” comes back for more on part 2  of the reunion show.  If you can stomach more foolery, we've got a few sneak peeks inside.  Plus, Joseline Hernandez and her delusion are covering ROLLING OUT...

Because these folks never learn from the first time they were in a crazy sitiation, VH1 has even more reunion show to air.  We're still listening for Rasheeda to reveal the status of her relationship with Kirk, even though we all can guess the deal.  Stevie makes it rain on Nikko. Scrappy squirms in the hot seat between Erica and Shay. Plus, a special performance from K.Michelle.

Check out a couple clips below:

Rasheeda talks about the status of her relationship with kirk after that infamous incident at Benzino's lake house.

Stevie J asks Mimi for her forgiveness after all the troubles. But will she accept?

And speaking of "LAHH ATL", Joseline Hernandez is more "gone" than we thought.  Check out her latest interview with ROLLING OUT where she truly believes she's a pop icon, she slams Tamar Braxton for "not having a career" and more.

Oh, and more pics of her Arabian pilot chic look we assume she was going for below.

On her music career and being a pop icon:

"I’m excited that I can go from being a stripper to a pop icon. I’m actually a pop icon because little girls were dressing like me for Halloween. I thought they only dressed like Michael Jackson for Halloween."

On Stevie J:

"I think Stevie and I are infatuated with each other. Because things go right but I curse him out and I slap him; everybody knows that. I think he’s like my boyfriend. I guess it’s like a relationship. I guess we go together. […] I mean we do go together — it just works. I never met a guy that everything just works out. I’ve had a lot boyfriends but that one — we just work out."

On Tamar Braxton:

"Well, I’m the baddest b—- out there in the streets. [They say] ”how dare this little immigrant girl come from Puerto Rico [and] just become a star.” You know I hate that s—! They’re jealous. Shout-out to Tamar Braxton, she wants to be a bad b—- like myself but she can’t be. She’s been trying to come out with music for how many years? [It’s been] f—–g 20 years since her sister [Toni] was a star. They don’t understand how a girl like me can come out and be this, but I have talent. It’s not my fault. When you got talent, you got talent. Shout-out to the haters; I love the haters. I do it for your amusement."

Check out her full interview if you'd like over at RO.

Andre Leon Talley Tells VANITY FAIR He DOES NOT "Identify" As GAY, Is Not Defined By His Weight, & Hints Race Is A Factor In Him NOT Being EIC Of VOGUE

Posted: 08 Aug 2013 04:06 PM PDT

 photo AndreLeonTalleyStephenBurrowsFrontRowEuCX0t8Gtiml.jpg

In the 2013 September issue of VANITY FAIR, Andre Leon Talley, the legendary former Editor-At-Large of VOGUE talks candidly about his personal life, professional career and offers women some "critical" advice about fashion.  See that Andre revealed inside....

 photo i0andre-leon-talley-pr.jpg

Andre Leon Talley opened up to VANITY FAIR for their September issue (HUGE deal) about his long tenure in the fashion world including his legendary stint at VOGUE and his current position at Numero Russia.  He's also very candid about his love life, revealing that he's never been in love with a man, but has loved two women.  Well, that's shocker for ya.  One was a fellow student in Providence and the other a society woman whom he fell in love after a night of dancing.

He also revealed he had "very gay experiences."  Whatever falls under that category...

Here are the other highlights, and yes, he brings up race in the fashion world.....

On being single:

“I just said to a friend, ‘I can create this magic, so why don’t I have a lover?’” But he adds.....“if I was a couple, I wouldn’t like to stay in the same bedroom. It is very un-chic in Europe to sleep in the same bedroom.”

On fashion advice for women:

“The world has become too casual, and people have become lazy. There was a time when people went on the airplane with gloves. It’s about gloves, O.K., darling? It’s about gloves. Listen.”

On if he identified himself as a gay man while growing up:

"No, no, no. I was just into my magazines and the drawings. I had a very strict upbringing, almost puritanical. I lived there all the way through college. I was in my grandmother’s house, and I respected that!”

On dating in the industry:

"I've had very gay experiences, yes, I swear on my grandmother’s grave that I never slept with a single designer in my life. Never, ever desired, never was asked, never was approached, never, ever bought, in my entire career. Never. Not one. Skinny or fat. Never.”

On his friendship with Anna Wintour:

“I wouldn’t have stayed at Vogue as long as I did without Anna being there. She was my biggest ally. There could not have been another way.”

On his weight:

“I do not weigh myself. I do not want to get on that scale. I only know what I weigh from the way my clothes fit. The people who are really close to me and know me have stopped bringing my weight up. They probably discuss it behind my back, some of them, in the fashion world. I have never felt less of a person because of my dramatic weight gain. Up or down, my confidence and sense of self never wavered.”

On whether race has affected his career:

“People stereotype you. What person of color do you know who’s in a position like that, be it a man or a woman, unless it’s Essence magazine?”

Niesha Stevens, the sister of deceased Blaque member Natina Reed, was found dead in her home in Atlanta yesterday.  More information inside.....

Sadly, we've received reports of the passing of Niesha Stevens, the sister of Natina Reed who was a member of the 90’s singing group Blaque.

According to the Hip Hop Enquirer who broke the story, Niesha was discovered dead by her seven-year old daughter yesterday. The report states that Niesha's husband, Tim, was at work during the time of death. The couple has been married since February 2013.  The police department has not yet released a statement, but are expected to sometime soon.

You'll recall that Natina passed away last October after getting struck by a car. We can only imagine the stress it must put on a family to lose two of their own, who are siblings, in less than a year.  Our prayers are with the family.

DO GOODERS: Nas Campaigns To Help A Single Father Of SEVEN Find New Home + DMX Lands ACTING GIG With Chris Rock AFTER DUI Arrest

Posted: 08 Aug 2013 11:15 AM PDT

 photo Nas2013BonnarooMusicArtsFestivalDayhgfCGK_0x_fl.jpg

Rapper Nas has starting a fundraising campaign to help a single father of seven find a new home for his kids.  Get the deets on the campagin inside and find out how much Nas kicked in.  Also, find out about DMX's latest gig....and it's not behind bars!

When Nas heard that a single father of seven had been displaced by a fire, he leapt into action and start a crowdsourcing campaign to find the family a new residence in D.C.  Hoping to raise $20,000 (after his own $5K donation), Nas has promised to kick in $5K more if the goal is reached. He posted,

I am also a single father, and we don’t get enough credit in this country. I’m committed to helping Stanley and his seven (yes 7!) kids. Moreover, I believe and hope that we should all, as a community, come together to help our fellow American men and women when they need us in desperate situations like this. See if you can’t find a few dollars to help the Youngs get back on their feet with me. We need to raise enough to extend their stay, and maybe even afford a down payment on a new house or something.

This is real. It is me. I’m putting in $5,000 myself. Never done something like this, but I have faith that our American community can pull together a miracle for this strong family who needs our help right now.

And seeing that Nas has had his own fair share of fatherhood issues with is daughter and tax issues, it'sgood to see he's paying it forward after handling his own business.

Watch the story here:

In other rapper news.....

 photo ChrisRock_DMX.jpg

The last time we saw DMX, he was passed out in the back of police car in South Carolina (and it wasn't pretty).  But now....the rapper has cleaned up his image (thanks to a few makeup artists) and landed a role in Chris Rock's new movie (which has undergone SEVERAL names changes).

And some may call it type-casting, but Chris knew exactly where to put DMX....in jail.  But apparently DMX is in on the joke. Domenick Nati of Nati Celebrity Services (X's talent agency) said,

"The scene is comedic which allowed X to show off his versatility as an actor. X and Rock played well off each other and Rock's character even gets DMX to lead the inmates in a song. There are more acting roles to come and DMX is also planning on attending the Sundance Film Festival in January."

Good luck with that! And keep him away from any liquor at craft services.....

CANDID LIFE: Jennifer Hudson LEAVING Her Hotel With A Thigh High Slit + Forest Whitaker TAKING A WALK With His Wife & Kids

Big screen stars Jennifer Hudson and Forest Whitaker were both spotted strolling through New York yesterday.  See their pics inside....

 photo jjfk2.jpg

Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Hudson (whom we spotted arriving a LAX a few days ago) turned up in New York City this week.  Rocking...this look.

 photo jjfk1.jpg

Rocking a thigh high slit maxi dress, combat boots and a spiked white hat, Jennifer was spotted leaving her hotel and heading off JFK airport for a super fast trip.  But....this outfit isn't her most flattering of looks.  We get she wants to show off her slim bod and all, but....

  photo jjfk3.jpg

With Jennifer being so busy on the big screen, the small screen and with her philanthropic work, we wonder if she'll ever make time to actually get married to David Otunga??!!

Also in New York,

Forest Whitaker, who plays the lead role in "Lee Daniels' The Butler" (opening August 16), was seen in New York this week playing his other roles of father and  husband.

 photo tkiwalk1.jpg

 photo twick32.jpg

The famed director and actor was in town with wife Keisha Nash Whitaker and their daughters Sonnet Noel Whitaker & True Whitaker (not pictured) as he and the rest of the cast have been engaged in a huge press tour for the film.

Wondering if Keshia chose this look on purpose.

During a recent interview with the New York Times, Forest (who also produced Fruitvale Station) commented on the timing of Fruitvale Station and Lee Daniels' The Butler both coming out on the heels of the George Zimmerman verdict.

"I think things are converging to move us and to reshape humanity. I produced a film called “Fruitvale Station,” and it’s trying to talk about these kinds of issues. All these things are piling up for us. People are speaking; they’re talking about it. Acknowledgment is a big part of healing."

Will you be buying a ticket to see Lee Daniel's The Butler?  We surely will....

SPEAK ON IT: Lee Daniels Speaks On Racism of Paula Deen & The South -- "I Like Paula Deen, She's Not Hiding Anything....And I Feel Safer In The South."

Posted: 08 Aug 2013 10:01 AM PDT

 photo LeeDanielsButlerPremieresNYCPart3V-cKWBMQM7Il_zps6c829f5e.jpg

Director Lee Daniels may have ruffled a few feathers with his latest interview with Huffington Post.  The head honcho of Lee Daniels' The Butler gave his take on why he's not mad at Paula Deen, why he feels safer in the south since he "knows his place" there, and why he feels whites in the south have a complicated "affection" for blacks....

The relationship between his lead character, Cecil the butler as a young boy, and the character played by Vanessa Redgrave is one that shows an elder white woman caring for a young black boy.  But, like often in real life, she had no qualms about putting him "in his place" treated him as less than equal.

Lee says he feels safer in the south though, still, because at least he knows what those who hate him really think about him.  And he knows "his place" in their eyes as a black man.  He also believes Paula Deen was simply a symptom of her time, and both he and his mom still are fans.

Here are the highlights:

HUFF POST: There's a great moment early in the film when young Cecil refers to himself with the n-word, and the character played by Clarence Williams III slaps him and says that Cecil should never say that word. Later, you have the character played by Cuba Gooding Jr. use the n-word for a punchline about Lyndon B. Johnson. What kind of conversation do you want this film to start about the use of the n-word in pop culture? For instance, I know Oprah is against it ...

I think that everybody is entitled to their opinion about the n-word, but there is a lot of validity about what Oprah has said. And yet, in private, the word is used amongst African-Americans -- and probably, in private, with white people.

We saw that with Paula Deen.

Yeah. But, no, with Paula: I like her. My mother loves her. Even afterwards, we understand that her racism and her usage of that word is so deep and so complicated. In the South, there was a love-hate relationship. White people loved black people in the South. I think there was a true, deep affection -- people will argue with me about that -- but just don't step out of your line. Because then you're at a place that's not so good. Is it love? I don't know.

You address that in the film with the character played by Vanessa Redgrave. She has a strong connection with Cecil when he's a young boy, but she's also not above treating him as a lesser being.

It's complicated. Racism is complicated. I think that in the South, it's clear. I feel safer in the South, then I do in metropolitan cities, where racism is subversive. Because they will do it behind your back. You know where you stand in the South. You know your place, because they will let you know your place. I'd rather have someone tell me the truth about me than go behind my back. Wouldn't you?

....

So I think that's what my mother meant when she said that about Paula Deen. She wasn't hiding anything. Now, I don't trust what Paula Deen is saying now. I think it's all manufactured now, because she's trying to apologize for something I don't think she should be apologizing for.

Lee Daniels' statements have come as a bit of a shock, especially to those who couldn't agree less that whites have a bond with & affection for blacks in the south that makes them seem less harmless than whites in northern states.

Is racism a bit more overt in the south?  Sometimes.  But should that false sense of security -- where not everyone hides their disdain for blacks -- make us feel safer?  Absolutely not.  Whether a non-minority person is telling you, as a minority, to your face they hate you, or if they're hiding it, our instincts and experiences tell us it's a huge possibility they think lesser of us regardless, before they even open their mouths.  So we don't feel "safe" either way.

It's also interesting to note that Lee was born and raised in Philly and went to school in the midwest.  And it does seem that those who never LIVED in the south, can sometimes have a warped view of how living in the south and the ingrained racism truly can be for the black community.  Just visiting many southern states is like visiting your significant other's side of the family.  You never know the real deal about the inner workings of their minds and hearts until you marry into the family and deal with them every single day of your life.

We may disagree with Mr. Daniels on some points, but we've gotta ask.  What's your take on his words?

Read the whole interview over at Huffington Post.
