Jennifer Garner in a wrinkly LBD at charity event: cute or meh?

These are new photos from last night's Chrysalis Butterfly Ball, a charity event that benefits the homeless and/or unemployed. In past years, the event has gotten good turnout, and last night's was decent. I guess two of the biggest A-listers there were Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, who refused to walk the red carpet together. I don't even think Affleck walked the red carpet at all, because there is only one photo of him that I've seen, and he's exiting the event. Can I just something to Garner and Affleck? The jig is up. We know you're together. You have two children together and you get pap'd all the time, often on a daily basis. You can walk a red carpet together, for the love of God. You are not Gwyneth and Chris Martin. Don't try to be.

Anyway, I don't know who did Jennifer's dress, but it's kind of cute. It looks kind of wrinkly and like she just threw it on, but at least it doesn't age her by ten years, like so many of her "dress up" clothes do.

Next up: Balthazar and Rosetta Getty. As time goes on, I realize more and more why Balthy tried to get away from Rosetta for The Year of Sienna Miller. Rosetta just seems so crazy to me. Balthy is a mess too.

Speaking of messes, Vince Vaughn. Jesus, remember when he didn't look so… unhealthy?

I don't pretend to "get" Olivia Wilde, as a person, as an actress, or as a Fashion Girl. This dress is fug, and the hair is just… ugh. Bangs AND a ponytail? And yet… all together, Olivia doesn’t really look bad, I have to admit. She looks healthy and fresh, somehow.

Tina Fey: Tracy Morgan is “too sleepy & self-centered” to hurt anyone

This Tracy Morgan thing continues to be a Thing. Go here for Friday's post on what went down. Just a quick recap - about a week ago, Tracy was performing in Nashville and he pretty stopped his comedy routine to do a full-blown rant full of ridiculously offensive anti-gay hate speech. No one said anything until a gay activist - who was in the audience - blogged about it on Facebook, and then everything went crazy. After the story came out on Thursday and Friday, Tracy released an apology. Shortly after Tracy released his apology, Tina Fey released an interesting statement:

I’m glad to hear that Tracy apologized for his comments. Stand-up comics may have the right to “work out” their material in its ugliest and rawest form in front of an audience, but the violent imagery of Tracy’s rant was disturbing to me at a time when homophobic hate crimes continue to be a life-threatening issue for the GLBT Community.

It also doesn’t line up with the Tracy Morgan I know, who is not a hateful man and is generally much too sleepy and self-centered to ever hurt another person.

I hope for his sake that Tracy’s apology will be accepted as sincere by his gay and lesbian coworkers at 30 Rock, without whom Tracy would not have lines to say, clothes to wear, sets to stand on, scene partners to act with, or a printed-out paycheck from accounting to put in his pocket.

The other producers and I pride ourselves on 30 Rock being a diverse, safe, and fair workplace.

[From Deadline]

I think Tina struck the right cord there, basically giving the impression that while she accepted Tracy's apology, he was on notice, all while standing up for him as a friend. Meanwhile, Tracy's 30 Rock costar Cheyenne Jackson, an openly gay actor, went to Out Magazine to release a statement: “I am disgusted and appalled by Tracy Morgan’s homophobic rant. The devastating repercussions of hate-filled language manifest in very real ways for today’s LGBTQ youth. I’ve known Tracy for two years, spent many long hours with him on set, and I want to believe that this behavior is not at the core of who he is. I’m incredibly disappointed by his actions, and hope that his apology is sincere.” Other performers and Hollywood types have been tweeting and blogging about all of this too - you can see some coverage here as well. My take is that people who KNOW Tracy and who have a comedy background seem to think that this was just a comedy bit that went way, WAY off-base, and that he's not really like this as a person.

Lily Allen marries Sam Cooper & her pregnancy was confirmed

Here are some photos from Lily Allen's wedding yesterday. The bride wore an enormous Delphine Manivet gown and a veil reminiscent of Princess Leia's Star Wars hair. I rather like the top part of the gown - the lace is nice, and it flatters her upper half. But the bottom is hideous with that flare at the bottom. I guess there was a reason for the enormous gown - shortly after the ceremony, the wedding gown designer confirmed Lily's pregnancy. Lily is probably really pissed about that. She hates when people talk about her bidness… until she doesn't hate it. Anyway, Lily married her boyfriend of several years, Sam Cooper, and her pregnancy comes very soon after she lost her last pregnancy at six months, back in November. She had been engaged to Sam Cooper for a while, although she publicly fought anyone and everyone for talking about it.

Lily Allen has two things to smile about.

The singer, 26, married Sam Cooper at St. James the Great Church in Gloucestershire, England, on Saturday – and the newlyweds are expecting a baby, according to reports.

Dressed in a gown with long lace sleeves and a fishtail skirt by French designer Delphine Manivet, the bride was given away by her father, Keith Allen, and then carried a bouquet of white roses as she made her way out of the church with her new husband to a waiting car as a crowd cheered.

“It’s beautiful that she is pregnant, and I am very happy for her. She is very happy about that – it is something wonderful,” Manivet told British paper The Telegraph. “For me, and for her too, when you’re pregnant you want to show that, but also be respectful, so the dress was perfect for her for that moment.”

Cooper revealed the happy baby news to wedding guests, according to the U.K.’s Daily Mail.

A rep for Allen could not be reached.

The baby news comes seven months after Allen and Cooper announced her heartbreaking miscarriage.

The wedding, which took place in the village of Cranham in the English countryside, was no secret. Allen’s wedding date was leaked to the press by an unknown guest, who sent the save-the-date card to British newspapers in March.

On Friday, Allen and Cooper were spotted arriving at the church for their rehearsal. Allen’s dad, an actor and musician, was also spotted with a ukulele – perhaps planning to serenade the happy couple.

Cooper, a decorator and business owner, popped the question during a romantic getaway last Christmas.

[From People]

Well, congratulations to Lily and Sam, for the wedding and for the pregnancy. I sincerely hope that Lily's health keeps up and she has a quiet, uneventful, full-term pregnancy.

Here are some more photos from the wedding party yesterday. I think the groomsmen were in pink. And the girl in the boob dress is Lily's sister, I think.
