WILL YOU WATCH?: "Preacher's Wives" Reality Show HEADED TO "TLC"

Posted: 01 Feb 2012 09:27 AM PST

The producers of "RHOA" (True Entertainment) have announced they're partnering with "TLC" (formerly The Learning Channel) to produce a new Atlanta-based reality show called "Preacher Wives." Get the deets inside.....

As if there aren't already enough urban reality shows based in Atlanta, True Entertainment is about to bring to light a lot of  "church drama" in a new reality series called "Preacher's Wives."

The show will follow the "First Ladies" of Atlanta area churches as they play out their roles in the congregation and at home.

Talking about the show, True Entertainment president Steven Weinstock said,

“We are excited to work with TLC to profile the lives of these strong-willed women.  With most praise in religious communities directed towards male preachers, we are thrilled to give these remarkable ladies the spotlight they crave and deserve.”

It will be interesting to see what type of holy drama the preacher's wives keep up.  I'm sure it will cause many debates at beauty shops, women's conferences and churches around the country.

SERIOUSLY?! Tracy Morgan TURNS HIS BACK On Diabetic Mom's HOME FORECLOSURE!

Posted: 01 Feb 2012 08:34 AM PST

Funnyman Tracy Morgan's strained relationship with his mother and sister is no laughing matter. In fact, his diabetic mother is facing home foreclosure and Tracy won't give her the $25,000 to save it! Get the deets inside...

Despite having a few health challenges in recent months, Tracy Morgan has no desire to make amends with his estranged mother.

Apparently, Tracy's 61-year-old diabetic mother, Alicia Warden (who lives in Ohio) is facing foreclosure and Tracy won't give her the $25,000 to save her house!

Though he is worth a reported $18 million, the "30 Rock" star has pretty much severed ties with his mom and is described by his sister Asia Morgan as a “d-- bag.”

She adds, “Because of the way he’s treating our mother, all bets are off.  He’s never been a nice person, And money’s just made it worse.”

She continued,

“My mom’s house isn’t extravagant, but it’s her home, Her health is failing. She has diabetes, and her legs are giving out on her.  This would be a drop in the bucket for Tracy. She has a son that can do, and she’s done everything that she could possibly could for her family.”

But for some odd reason, Tracy did offer his mom $2,000 (through his assistant) though it would not actually save her home.

When asked about the $2K, his mom said she talked to a woman who said,

“Tracy’s offering you a one-shot deal” of $2,000.  I told her, ‘Thank you, but no thank you. I’m not some person in the street."

She added, “That was the straw that broke the camel’s back. God don’t like ugly.  Karma comes back to you.”

Ummm.....is he holding onto some childhood issues? Or is he mad because his mom has allegedly given interviews about him in the past?  Hmmm....

And in defense of their childhood (which was rough) Asia said,

“My mother did everything she could.  She ran numbers, but she did it to put food on the table. We were raised in the [Tompkins] projects [in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn}, but we didn’t think we were poor.”

Sigh.......

Tracy has not responded publicly to his mom's claims, but in the past, he has said of her,  “I love my mother and always will. She did the best she could.”

Should Tracy get over his issues and save his mom's home....no matter what?

And Kerry's also making history.  As the star of SHonda Rhimes' upcoming drama "Scandal," Kerry will become the only Black actress to lead a drama based on a real-life black woman, high-profile crisis management adviser Judy Smith.

Loves it.  Congrats Kerry!

"Basketball Wives" Jennifer Williams, Laura Govan, & More Cover J'ADORE Magazine, Laura GOES IN On Shaunie!

Posted: 01 Feb 2012 07:01 AM PST

"Basketball Wives" stars Jennifer Williams and Laura Govan are two of the four cover subjects for the upcoming Reality Show issue of J'Adore magazine.  Check out Jen trying to prove she's an angel, plus Laura talking about her newly slim figure, why she can't stand Shaunie O'Neal, and her 10+ year relationship with baby daddy Gilbert Arenas, inside....

In a gorgeous emerald Grecian gown with plenty of embellishments, Jen Williams is covering J'Adore magazine...complete with a diamond headpiece.  Looks like she's trying to prove she's more angelic than she really is.  We'll see when the new season of the original "Basketball Wives" kicks off this month.

And "Basketball Wives: LA" cast member Laura Govan is showing off her newly slim post-4-babies body.  In a fitted navy ruched gown with embellished wide straps, Laura dishes all on her dislike for Shaunie O’Neal and her 10 year relationship with fiancé and father of her children NBA all star Gilbert Arenas:

On Shaunie O’Neal:
"I don’t have a relationship with Shaunie and I never will. The information she was given about Shaq and I was false, and she took it and ran with it. I didn’t appreciate it at all and for that reason I will never speak to her again. I don’t have beef with her. If we see each other, I won’t chin check her, but that’s why I chose to do Basketball Wives LA. I wanted people to see exactly who I am opposed to what you heard on Season One: Miami. I mean, there were five grown women talking about me and they had no idea who I was. That was unfair, but it goes to show you where their mentality was."

On Developing A Brand:
"My kids are my world! So right now I'm in the process of creating a product line for women & children. The line will include a workout DVD for new moms who've just given birth and want to lose their pregnancy weight, children books & more! A lot of people suggested I do stuff like write a book or cosmetics, etc. but I really wanted to do something that was true to me."

On Gilbert Arenas:
"We love each other. Yes, we have our ups and downs, but we have four kids together and like I tell most people, we are doing better than most married couples. I knew the person before I knew the athlete. Whether he still plays ball or not, I’m still going to be married to the person that I fell in love with. We're not announcing the date yet. When we do, it will be small and intimate. We actually got engaged three years ago. That ring that everyone saw is three years old. If anything, he needs to upgrade that ring. We’ve been together for 10 years."

On Growing Up In Oakland, California:
"I have nine brothers and sisters and we grew up well; both parents had jobs but we worked hard for things we wanted. My dad has always owned some type of club or jazz venue, and we worked there growing up. I’ve bartended, did janitorial work, I was a waitress as well as management, so I was a jack of all trades growing up and I come from a working family."

The other 2 covers are graced by E! channel's Guiliana Rancic and soap star Brandon Beemer.  The issue hits newsstands on February 13th!

R.I.P. Don Cornelius, Dead At 75

Details inside...

TMZ reports 75-year-old Chicago native Don Cornelius was found dead in his home in Sherman Oaks, CA.  He has 2 sons.  According to the report:

...Law enforcement sources tell us it appears he committed suicide.

We're told cops discovered the body at around 4 AM PT. Law enforcement sources tell us ... Cornelius died from a gunshot wound to the head and officials believe the wound was self-inflicted.

We're told Cornelius was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

During Don's bitter divorce proceedings in 2009, he told an L.A. judge he was suffering from "significant health issues" and wanted to "finalize this divorce before I die."

Mr. Cornelius kicked off "Soul Train" in 1971 in response to African American singers/artists not being featured in the popular musical show "American Bandstand."  Once he incorporated dancers into his weekly music show, "Soul Train" became one of the most successful shows on air to date.

CNN has confirmed the story as well.

News of his death is absolutely disturbing and shocking.

Nicki Minaj Talks Her Former Life As Queen Of England In WONDERLAND, Gets "Stupid H*e" BANNED From BET

Posted: 01 Feb 2012 05:55 AM PST

Nicki Minaj and her favorite pale pink lipstick are rocking the cover of WONDERLAND magazine's February/March 2012 issue.  The cotton candy haired rapper is going on her usual tangents about being Queen of England in her former life, why Barbie is the perfect idol, and cooking spaghetti in her down time.

Pics and highlights inside...

With news breaking this morning that her "Stupid Hoe" video has been unsurprisingly banned from BET for its explicitness (BET has a conscious now y'all), Nicki's bringing her provocativeness to print.

Nicki's gone all Pink Lady for her upcoming WONDERLAND magazine cover and spread.  Rocking a satin pink tank and jacket with sportscars as decoration, as well as a revealing nude blouse for another shot, the rapper is giving folks a bit more insight to her life.

On the difference between her stage persona and her real life: “Oh they’re definitely two completely different people. Obviously what I would wear at home is not what I would wear up on stage and I think, when I’m at home it’s a way more introspective character and I think the person people see on stage is anything but. I watch a lot of Judge Judy. And I watch a lot of Forensic Files. And I cook – I cook spaghetti really, really good; I cook macaroni and cheese really, really good; I cook chicken really, really good.”

On her Barbie obsession: “I feel like Barbie is great because it doesn’t only focus on beauty – you have Barbies that work, they have tons of different jobs now. And they come in different shades, which I love, and different hairstyles. So I think that they’ve gotten to the point where they’re making girls feel like it’s OK not to look like or be like the traditional Barbie. Now in terms of a body image, even male action figure dolls are cut up more than the average man – it’s just how people make dolls!”

On her love of London: “I was born in London in my past life, no one can tell me different. I probably was like a queen in London, I was probably the people’s queen that fought for lives … and I probably started off as a maid and then was just, like, really revolutionary and moved all my [Barbies] into the big queen mansion.”

The REVOLT / REVOLT / RENEW thematic issue is on shelves now.

First Lady Michelle Obama Stops By "The Tonight Show," Says Mr. President Sings To Her ALL the Time

Posted: 01 Feb 2012 05:30 AM PST

Mrs. Michelle Obama made her way to "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" last night.  And rocking a pastel green pencil skirt and golden blouse, she looked every bit the fabulous First Lady.

Video clips of her talking about Mr. President always finding time to sing to her, and Malia & Sasha djusting to Presidential life...

She may not have watched any of the GOP debates  or paid any attention tot he primary polls, but First Lady Michelle has her focus on her man, her kids, and the 2012 re-election campaign.

Mrs. O. mentioned that for her recent birthday, the girls and First Granny baked her fave red velvet cake at the White House--even though it's unusual for a First Fam to bake themselves there.

And as for her Presidential hubby who just turned 50, she said he's aging, but still gorgeous.  Awww.

About President O. breaking out in song recently at an event at the Apollo and now making Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" even more popular, Mrs. O says she didn't expect him to do it -- but he surely sings all the classics to her all the time.  Must be nice....

The First Daughters are adjusting nicely to White House life--and Malia even got her first cell phone.  As for what she told Sasha about why big sis could have one and not her, the answer was simply No.

Here's some video clips:

First Lady on Presidential Campaign

First Lady on Singing

Loves her.  By the way, to keep her body looking fab, she works out every day with President Obama and runs 3 miles a day, kickboxes, etc.  Her book American Grown is coming out in a few months.

Mariah Carey DIVAS OUT On Jermaine Dupri In The Studio + Ashanti DISCUSSES Moving Pass Murder Inc. Drama

Posted: 31 Jan 2012 03:03 PM PST

It's clear that Mariah Carey and Jermaine Dupri have been friends for many years so it's extra funny when you watch her "let him have it" for spending too much time on his social media network.  Watch the old friends go at it inside and see Ashanti talking about the next phase of her career without the drama of Murder. Inc.

It's 7am....and you can't keep the diva waiting!  During an exhausting recording session (where they cranked out 5 songs) Mariah Carey lets her good friend Jermaine Dupri "have it" about spending too much time on his Global 14 site when they should be in the studio working.

It's clearly a discussion....not an argument, but it's still fun to see the old pals go it.

Watch their "talk" here:

Also in music......

Ashanti stopped by "Access Hollywood Live" earlier to discuss the new direction her career is taking....AWAY from the former drama that surrounded her at Murder, Inc. She said,

“The label I was with kinda fell under an indictment and that actually put a hold on everything. It was like a black cloud that I had to kinda come out of and we had to do a lot of damage control. I felt that I wanted to distance myself from that. I did Broadway, I did some films, I did John Tucker Must Die, I did Resident Evil. I just had to regroup and say we’re gonna have a fresh start and I’m gonna try to put my business hat on and try to look for a different angle to approach the music. The industry was changing dramatically in those past three years.”

Now she's back with with her fifth album, due this summer, and her single “The Woman You Love” featuring Busta Rhymes climbing the charts.
