DADDY'S DAY OUT: Djimon Hounsou Shops It Up With Kiddies Kenzo, Aoki & Ming Lee Posted: 16 Sep 2012 09:57 AM PDT
Djimon Hounsou is on Daddy Duty back in Cali as the actor was spotted taking his son, Kenzo, and stepdaughters Aoki & Ming Lee, out for a bit of shopping this weekend.
Cute pics inside... Daddy Djimon gave mom Kimora Lee Simmons Hounsou a break yesterday as the actor took their kids to the Malibu County Mart for a few trinkets. How precious are they! Ming & Aoki spent last week in NYC with Kimora and their dad Russell Simmons to hit up several NY Fashion Week shows. And Djimon just shot the film, The Seventh Son, starring Jeff Bridges & Julianna Moore. The film's synopsis:
It's set for an October 18, 2013 release. Pics via WENN |
IT'S OFFICIAL--Nicki Minaj Is New "American Idol" Judge, Banks $8 Mill For The Gig Posted: 16 Sep 2012 09:08 AM PDT Host Ryan Seacrest tweeted the official word today that Nicki Minaj will indeed be sitting next to Mariah Carey on the next "American Idol" judges' panel.
Deets & the panel's first group pic inside... After a month of swirling rumors, it's official. Mariah Carey will be joined by Barb chick Nicki Minaj, country superstar Keith Urban and "Idol" vet Randy Jackson (who is also Mariah's co-manager) on the judges' panel for the new season of "American Idol." "Idol" host Ryan Seacrest tweeted the above pic saying:
While we already know MiMi is taking home about $18 mill for the gig, Nicki is reportedly getting paid a cool $8 mill. Ryan Seacrest is keeping his $15 mill salary. All judges are on a 1-year contract, according to THR. Clearly "Idol" is going for judges--sometimes regardless of talent level--who have a large following that they hope will translate into large ratings. But as long as folks are banking dollars, it's all good right? Auditions for the 12th season kick off today (Sunday) in New York. And "Idol" returns to Fox in January. Congrats all around. VIDEO FAB: Frank Ocean's New "Pyramids" Vid Posted: 16 Sep 2012 08:51 AM PDT Frank Ocean teamed up with Australian video/film director Nabil for his newest visual off his Channel Orange album. Check out the video for "Pyramids" inside... Shortly after performing the track with the guitar backing of John Mayer on "SNL" last night, Frank Ocean released the official video for his track "Pyramids." Apparently, he and John are new besties (he plays the guitar on the official track as well) as Mr. Mayer appears in the video. Check out Frank navigate the bar (which he shoots up), the desert, the strip club and more in another interesting visual. "Pyramids" was written by Mr. Ocean himself and produced by Malay & Om'Mas Keith. |
Posted: 16 Sep 2012 08:04 AM PDT There's good news and bad news. The bad news is that Tameka Raymond has been denied a re-trial in her custody battle with Usher. The good news is that Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez seem to be in great spirits as Halle's battle rages on. Get more inside.... Unfortunately for Tameka Raymond, things just won't go her way in her battle for primary custody of her two sons with ex-husband Usher. First, she lost primary custody and now, she's been denied a retrial. Though Tameka claimed that Judge Bensonetta Tipton Lane was baised since Usher's lawyer had donated to her 2008 campaign, the judge countered that this was PUBLIC knowledge and Tameka sould have known about this BEFORE the trial. Womp. But always the fighter....Tameka is pressing on and plans to appeal.
Meanwhile, in other custody news..... Halle Berry is still engaged in a nasty battle with ex Gabriel Aubry over her request to move to Paris with fiancee Olivier Martinez and to take daughter, Nahla, with her.
Despite the turmoil, Halle and her beau looked fresh and fab as they took a stroll through Malibu, CA for a little shopping and lunch at Taverna Tony. Halle rocked a comfy white dress with large cut-outs revealing a blue bikini. The couple then shared a laugh over something on Halle's phone as she sipped champagne.

WORK & PLAY: LaLa & Carmelo Anthony Make Moves In Puerto Rico Posted: 16 Sep 2012 07:21 AM PDT
Since her husband, Carmelo Anthony, hosted his celebrity charity softball game in Puerto Rico this weekend while also opening up new basketball courts he built for kids, LaLa (and Kiyan and crew) traveled alongside Melo. She was there to launch her Motives makeup line in the U.S. Territory. And to film for the new season of "Full Court Life," of course.
Pics inside....
LaLa, Po & Dice all chilled out poolside in Puerto Rico this weekend in between Melo's softball game and charitable efforts in the area. La brought the cameras along, of course, to document it all: Carrying her multicolored Birkin and rocking her new MCM sneakers, La and son Kiyan cheered on daddy Melo as he signed autographs and played in the game. The Puerto Rican twosome was also on the island to unveil the newly remodeled basketball courts, located in the northern city of Bayamon, that will be used by the island's top minor league players and 350 kids in the area.
Melo's Knicks teammate Amar'e Stoudemire was on hand for the celebrity softball game. And the crowd looks like they loved it all. Fun times. Pics via SPLASH |

For Saturday's premiere of season 38 of "SNL," Frank Ocean was the musical guest. He hit the stage and performed an acoustic version of "Thinkin Bout You," with John Mayer backing him up on the guitar. Nice!
The twosome returned to the stage later in the show to perform Frank's track "Pyramids." And Frank even decided to partake in a little arcade game action while John handled the guitar solo. Check the clip above.

Last night at the Martin Lawrence Gallery in NYC, Angela Simmons started her 25th birthday celebration a few days early with a cutesy party with fam and friends.
Check out Ange partying it up with Vanessa, their mom (pictured above), her celeb friends & more inside... Angela Simmons copped a kiss from her mom at her artsy b-day party in Soho hosted by PYNK mag and put on by Adair Curtis and her publicist Tamar Bazin. Rocking a sexy zipper embellished dress she co-designed with Edwing D'Angelo, the socialite businesswoman had some fun with fam and friends. And even got serenaded with "Happy Birthday" by Bridget Kelly: Interesting picture back there... Her fellow reality star friend Tamar Braxton looked fab for the occasion. And of course, her hubby Vince Herbert was there too as the twosome ready their new "Tamar & Vince" reality series.
Her girl Tika Sumpter came through looking fabulous as usual. And she snapped pics with the birthday girl and Russell Simmons. Vanessa looked fab in sparkly pumps and a little black dress with a printed jacket: Are we feeling BK's dress?
Angela snapped pics with her dad Rev. Run & uncle Russell, all while flaunting her cut-out dress.
Ange's rapper homie Theophilus London was there to party.
And so was NY Knick J.R. Smith. This dude is everywhere these days trying to be on the scene isn't he?
Looking fab Angela! Photog: Johnny Nunez |
