Doutzen Kroes shows off her crazy bikini body in Miami: gorgeous & sexy? Posted: 16 Aug 2012 08:29 AM PDT Oooooooooh. New photos of Doutzen Kroes!! She's in Miami with her husband Sunnery James – again. I'm not even sure Doutzen and Sunnery's vacation ever ended. It seems like they've been there for months. And before everyone starts screaming "WHO?" (a great way to get your comments deleted, btw), Doutzen is a big-time model. Most people know her from her Victoria's Secret work (catalog, commercials and runway), but she's also one of the top girls in the industry overall. And I love her. I think she's got such a beautiful face, and her body is to die for… slender AND strong, muscular and athletic but still feminine and lithe. She's got such a great, athletic figure that Victoria's Secret feels the need to airbrush-out her stomach muscles. So… I'm really just covering these new photos of Doutzen in a bikini because… well, we should do that more often. All of the sites operated by boys get to run endless amounts of celebrity bikini photos. Why can't we do that too? Feminism! Or something. All I know is that when I saw Doutzen's toned, lovely butt, I was filled with a weird combination of jealousy and lust. A few months ago, Doutzen was talking about food, eating and whether she can partake in any of that because she's a model. Doutzen admitted that she has a real problem with French fries (me too! We're the same): “French fries. I really like the ones at Shake Shack. That’s the thing with french fries, and potato chips too. You have one, and you can’t stop. But I always try not to eat the whole bucket that they give you, because I think that’s the trick. Everything in moderation; you can’t force yourself to eat none of the good stuff. I wouldn’t be a happy person if I only ate salads. I love salads — but salads with fries.” But Doutzen also spoke realistically about keeping in shape: "I box, I jump rope, and I do lots of leg work, you know, to keep the butt up. So, it’s lots of things. I have an amazing trainer and I’m really fortunate to have that, you know? But it’s also my job. You can’t compare my life to somebody who goes to work everyday; I have to look this way.” Oh, Doutzen. You are one of my favorite girl-crushes. |
Lady Gaga will wear fur if she considers it a “museum pièce de résistance” Posted: 16 Aug 2012 07:53 AM PDT Lady Gaga wears fur now. Sort of. Maybe. I'm still not sure, actually. As I covered earlier this week, Gaga stepped out in two different furry looks over the past week. One of the jackets (the pink one) is Armani, and the white-and-grey one is Hermes. There was debate that both jackets were fake, and Gaga refused to detail exactly what was going on. PETA got involved, and asked for Gaga to clarify her stance on wearing fur, considering she used to be vocally opposed to it. Well, Gaga has finally responded. And I'm still not sure WTF she's talking about.
If I'm reading this correctly (and really, who knows?), I think Gaga is basically saying that she's always worn animal skins, just not fur, but that she always left the possibility open to wearing fur if she found a piece that she considered "beautiful" or "art". Which has happened, apparently. So, she's wearing fur because she considers it a piece of art, and she isn't worried about being flour-bombed by PETA either, thus "Save your flour to make bread for the children who are hungry. And Kim Kardashian is fabulous." All in all… I can't really hate on Gaga for this. Right? |
Chris Brown feels “horrible” about Rihanna’s Oprah interview, doesn’t get it Posted: 16 Aug 2012 07:44 AM PDT These are some photos of Chris Brown performing in Cannes on 7/25 in a very packed club atmosphere; so it seems that Team Breezy is still enjoying a very successful career in spite of the fact that he feels like the whole world piled on him when he just happened to beat the crap out of Rihanna three years ago. Might I add that Chris is still a violent a-hole who continues to spread his mayhem. Most recently, he nearly started a fight at a club the night before the Billboard Music Awards, and then in June, he and Drake got into a huge fistfight at the Greenhouse club in NYC. In an interesting development, both Chris and Drake have been sued for $16 million by the company that owns the club trademark for “glass-flinging, broken-bottle-swinging free-for-all in a crowded club,” which make sense since publicity from the fight resulted in the loss of a licensing deal, the temporary shuttering of the club, and the ongoing threat of a lost liquor license. NBA star Tony Parker, who was injured in the fight, has sued the club for $20 million dollars as well. Meanwhile, Chris continues his tour of terror unabated. Maybe it’s a bit unfair for me to speak of him with those words, but it’s clear that he hasn’t learned his lesson, and it’s only a matter of time before his violent ways erupt again (and again). At the moment, however, Chris is still upset that he’s still known as the guy who beat up Rihanna. He’s reportedly aghast at the fact that Rihanna has spoken to Oprah about it during the interview that will air August 19, and he just doesn’t understand why things are being rehashed three years after the fact:
[From Hollywood Life] Yeah, Rihanna probably did forgive Chris for what he did, but she’s obviously very conflicted about what happened and could use some really good, extensive therapy. As for Chris, I don’t buy for a second that his reaction to the interview clip was to feel “horrible” about what he did. Rather, his reaction was probably to feel glass-smashingly angry about the fact that she would dare to talk about it in a public venue. As for the fact that we should respect his alleged “road to recovery” and how he’s “been a man” about it all? Bitch, please. Photos courtesy of Fame/Flynet and OWN |
Samantha Brick got death threats for being so beautiful: “I felt violated” Posted: 16 Aug 2012 07:24 AM PDT A quick question for our UK readers: is Samantha "There are downsides to being this pretty" Brick now a legit celebrity over there? I'm asking because I found a ton of new photos of Brick, and it seems like she's still getting a lot of attention – like, she's something of a "reality star" in the UK now, only she doesn't have a reality show, she just lives in a delusional world of her making and she occasionally writes about it. In case you've already forgotten Brick, she's the woman who created an international firestorm when she wrote an essay for The Daily Mail called "There are downsides to being this pretty" complete with photos of Brick looking like this, in which she claimed that men always hit on her and called her gorgeous and women were always, always JELLY of her. She followed up that essay with another one in which she compared herself to Angelina Jolie, and then there was another piece a few months ago in which she claimed her marriage was the best thing ever because she's submissive to an emotionally stunted husband who weighs her every morning, and who would dump her if she gained more than a few pounds. So… let's check in with Samantha Brick, shall we?
Obviously, death threats are always horrible and no one should condone them. I don't really understand how someone could have read any of Brick's essays and come away with "She should die." Brick is just some crazy lady, spouting off her delusions into the world. What Glenn Beck is to politics, Samantha Brick is to feminism. Nonsensical, harmless, crazy. Oh, and I found an answer to my own question – Samantha IS a celebrity now. She just joined the cast of the new season of the UK's Celebrity Big Brother. That should be a treat for the UK. But how will Samantha's French husband deal with her absence? |
Halle Berry is going to court today in her bid to move Nahla to France Posted: 16 Aug 2012 06:25 AM PDT
TMZ reports that Halle has subpeoned a paparazzo to testify in her custody case, and that she plans on using video to prove how dangerous a situation it can be for Nahla.
I believe that Halle really does hate the paparazzi. She had a guy spy on at home in 2008 and I remember Halle telling Tyra Banks in 2009 that she found it “horrifying” when a lady recognized Nahla on her own when she wasn’t with her. But if that’s the case, she can rectify the situation by getting better security, moving to a more secluded area as I mentioned or just taking more precautionary measures to avoid the paparazzi. She’s had years to do this, and now her only solution is to hightail it off to France. That incident in which she screamed at a photographer is looking mighty convenient now. This is about limiting Gabriel’s access to their daughter, and using the paparazzi as an excuse. Honestly I’m surprised she’s still even with Olivier Martinez. I expected them to break up by now. If Halle is successful in her bid to move to France, at least she’ll have to foot the bill for Gabriel to visit his daughter. I hope she gets shot down in court, but we’ll see. Here’s Halle’s new man, Oliver Martinez, out with Nahla on 8-12-12. Gabriel Aubry is shown with Nahla on 4-24-12. Halle, Oliver and Nahla are shown together on 8-11-12. Kristen Stewart doesn’t understand why she’s getting the brunt of the criticism Posted: 16 Aug 2012 05:53 AM PDT TMZ has a story up which is making me feel kind of… ugh. Throughout the Kristen Stewart-Rupert Sanders cheating scandal, there has been a constant debate/conversation about feminism, misogyny, "homewrecking" and the role of the media as some kind of morality police. While I definitely think Kristen Stewart has received the brunt of the criticism – unfairly – I do understand WHY that happened, and I always thought it had less to do with misogyny and more to do with fame. Rupert Sanders hasn't taken as big of a public hit because he simply did not have a public profile before the scandal. Whereas Kristen was and is arguably one of the most famous women in the world. Most people think Rupert is a POS, of course, but Kristen is the one who riles up emotions and she's the "newsworthy" one. Anyway, TMZ has a story in which sources close to Kristen claim she's "furious" that she's "taking all the heat" from the affair:
Yeah. She's partly right – Rupert is equally culpable in the affair, and he deserves more criticism, more of a career hit, more of public outcry. But this whole argument of "Rupert was in a position of power over her" – really? It reminds me of the People Mag story two weeks ago in which "sources close to Kristen" claimed that "Rupert had been infatuated with [Kristen] since the production [of SWATH], but she always kept it professional because she loved [Robert Pattinson]. She still does. It only became a flirtation recently, and she was lured into a brief situation that she never wanted." I simply don't buy Kristen as a victim, preyed upon by an older man who had a position of power over her. SWATH was Rupert Sanders' first film as a director, and he pretty much only got the make the film because Kristen and Charlize signed on. I think Kristen's playing the victim in the hopes of garnering some sympathy, and that pisses me off. Was Kristen young and dumb, and did she make a horrible mistake? Yes. Should she have to “pay” for that mistake by eating sh-t for a while? Yep. Will playing the “pity poor me” card too soon end up causing a backlash? Probably. Will she be fine a year from now? Yep. |
Miley Cyrus’ pixie cut compared to Britney’s shaved head breakdown: fair or not? Posted: 16 Aug 2012 05:40 AM PDT r
The only evidence Radar offers as evidence that Miley is cutting herself are photos of light scratches on her wrist. As commenters on Radar point out Miley has a new puppy. She has several dogs and it’s more likely that one of her dogs scratched her. Miley is 19 years old. When I was 19 I pierced my nose, wore combat boots, and got tattoos that I thankfully had the foresight to put in places that clothing covers. We didn’t have The Internet or cell phones and our cameras weren’t digital so we didn’t take as many pictures, which is sad really. I wish I had more photos from college. What I’m saying is that if I were famous with a worldwide platform people would probably say I was crazy at 19 too, and look I turned out fine and now spend my days gossiping. Maybe I’m not the best example, but I don’t see the big deal about Miley’s cute new hair. She didn’t freak out and shave it in front of the paparazzi like Britney, she hired a celebrity hairdresser to give her an avant-garde new cut. She should let up on the tweeting, though, she gave it up once in the past and she should realize that she needs to step away for a while. It does look like she’s going through something, but it seems more like normal insecurity and affirmation-seeking than a breakdown. |
Jennifer Lawrence would never cheat on her boyfriend, unlike a certain trampire Posted: 16 Aug 2012 05:21 AM PDT The header photo is a new pic of Jennifer Lawrence in the September issue of Vogue – Vogue profiled some of the coolest, most fashionable people under the age of 45, and J-Law made the list. And this photo is really… something. I love her body. I love that she looks strong. I'm including some photos at the end of the post of Jennifer coming from the gym too – crazy body. Over the past year or so, there were lots of rumors about a potential "rivalry" between Jennifer Lawrence and Kristen Stewart, arguably two of the most well-known young actresses in Hollywood right now. Kristen spent the last four years as the romantic lead in one of the most successful franchises of all time – and Jennifer Lawrence just began another franchise which will make as much money, if not more. Jennifer also auditioned for the "Bella Swan" role, if I remember correctly, and it's believed that Jennifer and Kristen are often up for the same roles, and that will probably continue for years to come. Kristen allegedly scored the lead role in William Styron's Lie Down in Darkness, which Jennifer was very vocal about wanting too. But it will interesting to see how their personal lives diverge – Kristen's personal life is a mess right now (do I really need to recap that?), while Jennifer is happily dating Nicholas Hoult, and they seem very stable and happy. Well, according to Radar, that's by design. Sources say J-Law would never screw around on HER boyfriend:
Of course, the majority of this crap is just the media/gossip/tabloid world pitting two young women against each other, hoping for the next "great rivalry" like Aniston versus Jolie or something like that. But… I do think that Kristen and Jennifer do keep an eye on what the other one is doing, you know? There is a healthy sense of competition, and I don't see how that's anything to be ashamed of. Women shouldn't be afraid to openly compete with each other in the professional world, but when it devolves into "She's a trampire!" and "She's fat!" arguments, it really doesn't serve the greater good. |
Us Weekly: Jennifer Aniston “is SO not trying to keep up with Brad anymore” Posted: 16 Aug 2012 04:31 AM PDT As I said yesterday, it's all elopements and babies and beach weddings for Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux for the next month. That's all we'll be hearing about. Unless The Leg captures her prey, in which case JustJen shall be pushed aside! But for now, we're all focusing on "the proposal" and of course, BABIES! Both People Magazine and Us Weekly have folded the "baby stuff" within their respective proposal cover stories, which is interesting, I guess. I covered People's cover story yesterday, but I was waiting to read the full Us Weekly story before I wrote about it. I'm glad I waited, because Us Weekly's story was chock full of scandalous goodies. Things I learned from Us Weekly's story:
[From Us Weekly, print and online editions] I told you it was a good one! I love that Us Weekly didn't shy away from their original reporting last year about Justin and Jennifer's alleged on-set affair in 2010, and I love that a "source" finally admits the Jennifer WAS competing with Brad and Angelina at one point. But she's not anymore, of course. Because all of this is simply about beach weddings and babies. Of course!! |
LeAnn Rimes feeds the Twitter trolls, sounds just as crazy as them Posted: 16 Aug 2012 04:30 AM PDT I do have moments where I feel some sympathy towards LeAnn Rimes. I know, I know, go ahead and yell at me. I think LeAnn is willfully delusional and crazy as all get out, but she has to deal with both fans and "enemies" who can battle her crazy-for-crazy. A great example? LeAnn puts her insanity out into the world via her Twitter feed every single day. LeAnn is ALWAYS on Twitter. It's pretty much her life. The problem is that when someone puts so much of herself into Twitter, when someone trolls that person, it's really difficult for someone like LeAnn to simply ignore it. Yes, someone trolled LeAnn and she fed into it. And it was… just a mess, from start to finish:
Now, I went through LeAnn's Twitter feed for like a full five minutes (five whackadoodle minutes that I will never get back), and I couldn't find any of these tweets. Somehow, The Mail managed to get screencaps of them, which you can see here. Even without the screencaps, I already believed the story though. Because A) LeAnn is dumb enough to feed the trolls and B) All of this sounds like Classic LeAnn. She even included some of her mantras: "No one is perfect" and "You can't break what's already broken" and "it's all lies". My favorite is "All I need to speak to about me and my sins is the good lord." That's right, y'all. Only the good lord can judge LeAnn because it's all lies except for the true stuff but that only happened because no one is perfect and because both marriages were already broken!! Y'ALL!!! Anyway, please, stop trolling LeAnn. In the end, you're just feeding her persecution complex. And when LeAnn feels persecuted, she just maniacally tweets random crap about bullying, interspersed with bikini photos. And no one needs that. |
