Beyoncé VISITS United Nations, PREPS "I Was Here" Shoot

As she preps to shoot the Humanitarian Day version of her "I Was Here" video, Beyonce paid a visit to the United Nations General Assembly Hall in New York yesterday. Deets inside....

Singer Beyonce chatted it up with officials like Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon yesterday when she visited the UN.  The singer is working with the UN to celebrate World Humanitarian Day.

Also, she will film video for her Diane Warren-penned ballad “I Was Here” in front of a live audience at the UN General Assembly Hall. The video will be released globally on World Humanitarian Day, August 19.

It's nice to see some social awareness in videos.

Meanwhile, Beyonce will be the honoree at a fancy dinner tonight at the United Nations HQ in NYC.  She will be putting on a special performance for invited guests.  Nice!

 

 

 

 

Naomi Campbell RECOVERS From RELEASE Of "Bald Patch" PICS!

Though some photos of her bald patch hit the web recently, supermodel Naomi Campbell bravely stepped out in London with a fresh hairdo last night. See pics of Naomi's new hairline inside....

 Last night, Naomi Campbell was seen at the Downtown Mayfair in London for an Olympic Celebration Dinner in partnership with Fashion For Relief (her company) and Interview Magazine.  During the evening, she posed with designer Sarah Burton (top) and gold medal winning Olympic cyclist Danielle King (above).

All eyes were focused on the diva's hairline as she arrived since pics of her "bald patch" hit the web....again yesterday.

Despite the backlash, Naomi pulled it together and enjoyed herself saying,

'The 2012 Olympics have been remarkable - I am elated for Team GB and the extraordinary success they have had so far.  It is a very special and proud time to be in London and to celebrate the outstanding talent, which has been showcased during the games. 'I wish everyone taking part in London 2012 continued strength, determination and perseverance for the remainder of the games.'

PHOTOSHOOT FRESH: Rihanna SEXES UP Beach Shoot As Face Of Barbados, Sneak Peek Of Sit Down With Oprah

Rihanna is mixing a little business with her pleasure trip back home to the island of Barbados.  Previously, the island's most famous daughter was announced as the face of Barbados Tourism.  And yesterday, she rocked a beach photoshoot to show off the beauty of the gorgeous place.

Rocking a plunging yellow sundress with a sexy front slit, the "Where Have You Been" singer hit the Barbados waters as she did what she does best--sex up a photoshoot.

As the face of her home island, Rihanna will star in an advertising campaign from the tourism board, including a photoshoot that shows off everything the island has to offer.  So Rih hit the beaches and lush greenery to pose it up for the cameras:

And last week while Rihanna was chillin' out after her 2 week vacay around the French Rivieria, Oprah popped up in Barbados to do a sit down with the self proclaimed Only Girl In The World.

Ne-Yo Makes $5K RAIN DOWN On Drake's Stripper Ex Maliah Michel!

R&B crooner Ne-Yo was spotted making it rain at a strip club in the ATL recently, and Drake's ex boo Maliah Michel was the object of his attention.  See the pics inside and found out how much he tipped her........

As he puts the finishing touches on his R.E.D. (Realizing Every Dream) album--whose release he just postponed--Ne-yo was spotted taking in the sights at Atlanta's Diamond strip club.  One chick who was obviously on his radar was Maliah Michel, the former boo of rapper Drake.  Maliah, a native of Houston, has also been linked to Sean Kingston in the past.

So with pink heels in the air and Ne-Yo's singles raining down on her lady parts, I'm sure everybody's mama was proud.

Ne-Yo looked, but didn't touch as he's engaged to Monyetta...and Maliah said she's celibate............

Sources say Ms. Maliah, who's starring in the Memphitz-produced reality show "Mistresses of Atlanta"  made $5K from Ne-Yo last night.  And with that body, she works hard for the money.

SPORTS FAB: Gabby Union, Trina & Savannah Parlay In London + Olympian Sanya Richards-Ross Nabs REALITY SHOW + Dwight Howard Heads To The LAKERS! + Ashton Eaton Gets DECATHLON GOLD!

The basketball boys aren't the only ones having fun in London.  So are their wives and girlfriends.  Pics of Gabby Union, Savannah Brinson and more partying in London, plus a new reality show for Gold medalist Sanya Richards-Ross, another YBF track star copping Gold and Dwight Howard is very likely set for the Lakers...

Rapper Trina Instagramed a pic of her London Nights with her girls.  Now that she's become James Harden's main chick, she's been chillin' with the other basketball wives and girlfriends even more--like LaLa Anthony, Savannah Brinson & Gabrielle Union.

Gabby rolled into town this week with her man Dwyane to cheer on the men's basketball team.  And so that Gabby could catch the women's soccer final Thursday evening:

She tweeted a pic of her and her photographer fan cheering on TEAM USA to gold.  By the way, Gabby said she played soccer for 11 years!

 

And speaking of Olympic Gold, the winner of the Women's 400M final at the 2012 Olympics, Sanya Richards-Ross, just nabbed her own reality show!  The pilot that was shopped around, and produced by Good Clean Fun (same producers as Tia & Tamera's reality show), got picked up by We TV according to Deadline.  Interestingly, Sanya appeared on the same network when she and her NFL hubby Aaron Ross showcased their nuptials on an episode of "Platinum Weddings" a few years ago.

Here's the synopsis of what her show will be about:

It was shot in Austin before Richards-Ross left for London and offers an insider’s look at her rigorous training regime as well as her personal life. Richards-Ross is married to two-time Super Bowl champion Aaron Ross who just signed a 3-year $15 million contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The reality series reveals the often intense rivalry between the hyper competitive couple. (Ross was in the stands on Sunday cheering on his wife with her parents when she won the Olympic gold.) The TV project also provides a behind-the-scenes look at Richard-Ross’ inner circle that includes her mother Sharon acting as her agent, her father Archie working as her manager and her sister Shari as her business partner.

And we've got another YBF gold medalist on our hands.  Decathlon winner Ashton Eaton just won the 10-event competition Thursday evening.  His father is African American and his mother is of European descent.  His mother, who was also an athlete and a dancer, cheered him on from the stands for the 2-day long event alongside his fiancee.  Ashton's father and grandfather played football.

Ashton's big win had folks asking was HE the best athlete in the world instead of Usain Bolt, who has 2 Gold medals this Olympics for the second year in a row.

“Ashton is the best athlete whoever walked the planet, hands down,” his USA teammate Trey Hardee said after he grabbed the silver medal himself. “The same reason Usain Bolt is the fastest man on the planet.”

 

 

And big NBA news is shaking up the sports world.  Dwight Howard looks to have gotten his wish--if nothing changes overnight.  He's leaving Orlando for a big market team. He just solidified a 4-team trade, which will put him in a Lakers jersey and Laker Andrew Bynum in Philly.

Dwight remained mum when asked about the trade Thursday night by paparazzi who spotted him out in L.A. after his back injury rehab session.  But ESPN says it's now final.

"He's ecstatic ... just incredibly happy to be moving on to the Lakers, moving out of Orlando," ESPN's Stephen A. Smith said of a conversation with Howard. "He's just anxious to put the events of the past behind him. ... His attitude is this is second home to him already (because Howard has spent time in Los Angeles rehabilitating his back).  One of the things he told me, 'I can assure you I'm happy to be here.'"

A new set of gossip flowing from that Laker locker room and new Laker ballers' bedrooms?  Interesting.  You feeling Dwight as a Laker?

LIVING IT UP: LaLa Hosts MOTIVES Event Across The Pond + Rihanna Chills Out In Barbados

LaLa Anthony mixed a little business with pleasure as she had a party for her Motives makeup line in London last night.  We've got pics from the party--including the other basketball wives & girlfriends in attendance--plus Rihanna chillin' out in Barbados....

Since Kobe Bryant's wife Vanessa is across the pond cheering on her hubby, Carmelo Anthony's wife LaLa invited her to her makeup launch party.

LaLa & Vanessa snapped a cute pic on the carpet of La's sneak peek party for Motives for La La UK. It hasn't launched yet, but she was doing a preview party for the line which will launch soon.

Her girl Trina also stopped by as she was also in London Town cheering on her boo--James Harden on the TEAM USA b-ball team.

La rocked a UK designer, Mary Katrantzou, with her nude Louboutins as she snapped pics with her son Kiyan.

Her girls Po & Dice were there to support of course.

And her whole family came out too.

 

And over in Barbados:

She hit up Club 360 and ran into "Project Runway" winner Anya Ayoung-Chee and MTV’s AJ Calloway.

And kept it casual in sneakers, cutoffs and a button down as she partied it up with her friends back home.  Fun times.

Blackground Records CONFIRMS New Aaliyah Album, Timbaland & Missy WILL PARTICIPATE But Aaliyah's FAMILY Won't!

Blackground Records has confirmed that there will indeed by a new Aaliyah album coming and Missy Elliott and Timbaland will be involved. Get the deets inside and find out what Aaliyah's brother has to say about the new project................

 

Now that the Aaliyah's "Enough Said" featuring Drake has racked up tons of listens online, Blackground Records confirmed to Billboard.biz that there will be a forthcoming Aaliyah album, but Drake won't be executive producing the entire project.  The label confirmed that Drake and hotshot producer Noah '40' Shebib will have a hand in several tracks but there will also be participation from Timbaland and Missy Elliott.  

But when it comes to Aaliyah's family....the situation gets a little murky.  Aaliyah's brother Rashad Haughton, announced on Aaliyah's Facebook page that his family isn’t in support of the project. He said,“there is no official album being released and supported by the Haughton family.”

But this also depends on how you define "family" since Blackground Records is run by Aaliyah's uncle, Barry Hankerson, and her cousin Jomo.  And they are clearly in support of the project.  We guess Aaliyah's "immediate" family isn't invovled. 

The label also reported that they are using 16 unreleased songs and "fragments" from Aaliyah's archive to produce an LP by year's end. Jomo said,

"We really felt like it was time. There's a real new generation that doesn't know her necessarily, and we wanted to continue her musical legacy with this new generation.  That's one of the reasons why we wanted to do very contemporary music. We didn't want to make it a nostalgic project; we already did that with the 'I Care 4 U' album. The idea was to release new music for her diehard fans, and also reintroduce her music to a new generation that doesn't really understand how much influence she has in the music that they're listening to today."

USA Women's Soccer just redeemed themselves after losing the Gold to Japan in the 2011 World Cup.  They just beat Japan tonight to win the Gold, for the third straight time in the Olympics.  And two YBF chicks on the team--Sydney Leroux & Shannon Boxx--helped make it happen.  Get their interesting back stories inside...

She's 35, a powerful Midfielder on the US Women's Soccer team, and was one of the leading reasons TEAM USA just took the Gold in Women's Soccer.

Shannon's biological father is black, but she was raised by her white single mom: So the Southern California native told media recently that while in college, she took it upon herself to learn the culture of her other half.

"For me, I really learned about my other half. I took African American studies. I majored in it. I think that was one of the best things I could have ever done. My mom couldn't teach me those things. So I went and taught myself and learned those things when I was at Notre Dame."

And her 22-year-old teammate, Sydney Leroux, says she couldn't have gotten this far had she not broken up with her professional baseball player fiance:

She's plays Forward on the team and was one of the major subs of the game to help her team beat Japan.  But she didn't make it this far without catching flack from her Canadian half.

Sydney, who is also bi-racial and the daughter of retired American MLB star Ray Chadwick, was born in British Columbia, Canada.  So her dual citizenship made her eligible to play for TEAM USA.  Many Canadians called her a traitor and didn't take kindly to her decision earlier this year.

The UCLA student told Yahoo Sports that her relationship with her MLB player fiance Brett Lawrie (of the Toronto Jays) was holding her back from progressing:

"I don't think I would be where I am if I were still engaged," Leroux said. "I think that now I have time to focus on me, and I don't think I did that when I was in a relationship with my ex-fiance, so I’m happy. "I mean, if I could thank him, for just, like, not having it work, I would because I know for a fact I would not be here. Ever since that happened I have kind of rebuilt my dreams again."

Wow.  Congrats to the ladies on staying string and grabbing the Gold!

Two-Timing Stevie J Wines & Dines MiMi....Then Gets PUNCHED For Joking About Joseline!

Who's the idiot who thinks joking about your jumpoff in front of your supposed main chick is funny?  Stevie J., of course,  Look what happened when he took his main girl & baby moms MiMi Faust out on the town last night and Stevie decided to joke with the paps....

Despite the fact Stevie J was all over both NYC and L.A. holding hands and hugging all over his "artist" Joseline in front of the cameras the last couple weeks, he's back to schmoozing MiMi as if she's still his main chick.

Honestly, we don't know who his main chick is anymore.  You would think THAT alone would be enough for MiMi to leave.  But no, she was right by his side at My Studio in L.A. last night.  And that's when Stevie gave a disrespectful answer to one of TMZ's questions.

The camera man asked who would win in a fight--either Basketball Wives or Rapper Wives.  Stevie's answer...with a chuckle?  "Joseline & MiMi."

Apparently he thought that ish was cute.  MiMi got pissed and punched him and took his cigarette and walked off.  But we're sure she ended up in his bed hours later....

Claressa Shields WINS The FIRST Middleweight GOLD Medal In Women's Olympic BOXING!

TEAM USA is getting it in over in London!  YBF chick Claressa Shields boxed her way into the history books today as she became the first middleweight gold medalist in women's Olympic boxing history! Get the hard-punching deets inside.....

 

Could she be the next Muhammed Ali?  US boxer, 17-year-old, Claressa Shields, put on a fascinating show earlier today as she made history becoming the first female GOLD medalist of the middleweight level of Olympic boxing.  Boxing just made it's way into the Olympics this year.  So Claressa's name is in the history books as the one to beat.

As she worked her 33-year-old Russian Nadezda Torlopova opponent over, she put on a good show displaying her speed and strength.

And once she got on the winner's podium, Claressa put her hand over her heart and laughed.  She was a clear crowd favorite and was the reason many folks came to the match.

Before jetting to London, Claeersa did a featurette in Seventeen magazine where she talked about her father telling her boxing was "a man's sport" and not letting bullies at the gym get to her.  And she talked about her dream of Olympic gold:

I went to the gym every day after school, doing 21⁄2-mile warm-up runs, shadowboxing in the ring, or sparring with the guys. When I was 14, I found out that women would be allowed to box in the 2012 Olympics. Back then, I had a hard time expressing my feelings to people, so I would write in my journals to get stuff off my chest. That night, I remember writing in my diary, “My dream is to win an Olympic gold medal.”

Looks like we can add another name to the list with Gabby Douglas and other YBF chicks who'll have endorsement deals flying their way!

Azealia Banks Covers VIBE With Diplo -- Talks Twitter Beef Regret, Kanye's Co-Sign & Not Being "Some Little Light Skinned B*tch"

"212" rapper Azealia Banks is covering the August/September 2012 issue of VIBE Magazine with Philly electro house producer Diplo (who produced her track "F*ck Up The Fun").  And her cover story was indeed a doozy.  But isn't that why we love her?  Chick always has ballsy soundbite.  And we usually agree with it.

 

Peep the hot cover inside, plus what everybody's fave bratty little sister had to say about her Twitter steez, getting ballsy with "elders" in the rap game, and what her fans who get her love about her...

Azealia has dropped 2 big mixtapes this past year--1991 & FANTASEA--performed for fashion icons like Karl Lagerfield, has an insane international buzz, and rocks huge stages like Coachella with packed out audiences.  So why does the 21-year-old fast talking, Harlem bred, colorful weave lover have such a chip on her shoulder?

Regardless, she's got folks talking.  And she's not scared to call people or this industry on it's bullsh*t.  And she's uber talented. 

So VIBE chatted up the "Liquorice" chick who holds back nothing.   Ms. Banks dishes on why not being light skinned affects how people perceive her, the best day she spent with Kanye West, and regretting all those Twitter fights with Lil Kim, T.I., Iggy Azalea & more.  Here's some of the highlights:

Besides feeling territorial, there are folks who take the hierarchal, respect-your-elders adage very seriously. Is that voided once someone disses you?
When people come at my head it doesn’t faze me enough to be sad. It’s just, “Listen motherfucker, let me tell you about yourself and what I got and am about to get. You’re trying to knock me off my feet; I’m trying to stand tall, ’cause I’m here for a reason. I wasn’t even thinking about y’all, y’all came at me.”

Right, but not every 21-year-old newbie has the balls to publicly mouth off at T.I. Were you raised to be this fearless?
My mother was always like, “Anybody say something you don’t like, punch them in the mouth. Do it!” [Laughs] If I had a fight, when she came home I would get another ass whupping just for being a little bird. And she’d be like, “Why you letting these people bring you down?” I was a really fresh little girl, always arguing back, trying lipstick on, trying to shake my ass—knowing in the back of my head I’m gonna get fucked up [by my mother]. But fuck it, I wanna get fucked up.

Do you think your American buzz so far has been built more off controversy than music?
Of course, because Americans are distracted by shit like that. It’s like, “Listen, T.I., if I was a fucking boy you wouldn’t say anything to me.” But when I’m a girl and I say something back, the media wants to turn it into all these different things. Rappers beef all the time. I said what I said about [Iggy Azalea] and kept it moving. Then a month later you said what you said. And it keeps coming up. Leave it alone. I didn’t say she couldn’t rap. I said something very real. Out of everything, she had to [call herself] “a runaway slave master”? C’mon, that’s not swag. That’s not fly shit.

And that’s all it was. For T.I. to drag me through the dirt… It’s silly. In Europe they leave it alone and keep playing my songs on the radio and I keep getting booked for fashion shows because they’re about the art. All I’m doing is making myself look bad by getting engaged with y’all because no one in Europe gives a fuck about y’all. All I’m doing is giving y’all niggas exposure. So if you notice I’ve backed up off Twitter the past days [laughs].

Speaking of that wonderful social network, that’s the main thing you’re slammed for—calling out other artists on there.
Exactly. And that’s the only thing niggas could hold against me, because I’m hot. So you know what? I’ma back off and [tweet] about random shit and make these records. I’m trying to just reach out, do a little record…

Which brings us to Lil’ Kim. Why address her publicly instead of sending a private message or e-mail?
That’s what we did, and that shit is over. Yo, listen, [Lil’ Kim], this black cloud you got over you—don’t try to push that over me. You can keep that, because as soon as I released “Jumanji” is as soon everybody forgot about you. I have my hand on the dial; I can control how hot and cold you are right now. So I’m not even going to give it to you. I tried to make a legitimate track with you, tried to collaborate. I was bigging her up and she keeps throwing it back in my face. I tried.

Do you regret getting into these Twitter clashes?
Of course, because it’s e-thugging… Who wants to look like that? But how else am I gonna reach y’all? I don’t have a T.I. to get on a radio show and defend me; I’m the one behind me. Y’all expect me to agree like, “Oh yea, I’m wack. I only have one song.” That’s one song y’all niggas don’t fucking have. You might win some, but you just lost one.

Kanye certainly doesn’t think you’re wack. Tell me about the time you guys first met in London last year.
He hit me up like, “You’re mad talented. What do you eat for breakfast?” The whole conversation was pretty dense—two Geminis in one room. So it was so many ideas flying.We spent the whole day together, but the best part was dinner. We’re eating out the same plates with chopsticks, and he’s freestyling for me. I was like, “Oh shit, this is real!” You know how you smile so much your face hurts? And you just feel so busted like… [screeches].

Tell me about the folks who get you—how would you describe your fans?
I think my true, hard-core fans are people who enjoy being bad. People who enjoy drinking and smoking, but wanna get it together and just don’t know how. When you really listen to my music you hear a girl who’s going through the motions. She’s experiencing men, having money, not having money, people who are trying to tell her she’s not cute, people telling her she can’t rap, she can’t dance… She’s really dealing with life. I’m not some little light-skinned bitch out here. It’s a young Black girl doing this for herself, by herself. Y’all can’t keep trying to pin me up against the wall. Hip-hop has to help me not let this slip through my hands.

Hello...Shirtless Tristan Wilds In A Wetsuit

Cutie "90210" star Tristan Wilds was spotted on the set of his CW show yesterday in a wetsuit for a surfing scene.  And we had to do a double take.  Pics of the toned youngin' inside...

We usually think of Tristan as that cute friend of your little brother.  But he's growing up before our eyes and was looking pretty good on the "90210" set yesterday in L.A.

Looks like his role as "Dixon" will be back and better after that bad car wreck on last season's finale. 

The 23-year-old Red Tails movie star is also dabbling in some music here and there.  The new season of "90210" premieres Monday, October 8th.

NEW GIGS: Young Jeezy Named Sr. VP Of A&R At Atlantic Records + Arsenio Hall Gets GREENLIGHT For Late Night Talk Show

Aaaaaay!  Hip Hop is growing up.  And rapper Young Jeezy's got a new gig.  Check out deets about his new executive role at Atlantic records, plus Arsenio Hall is officially on the CBS late night talk show host slate...

V103 radio host Greg Street announced on his show last night that fellow ATLien Young Jeezy just stepped into a big new role at Atlantic Records.  And Jeezy's production coordinator co-signed with a Retweet of the news. The "Leave You Alone" rapper will be throwing on a suit and tie (well, his version of that) as the newest Senior VP of A&R at Atlantic Records.

Interestingly, Jeezy is currently signed to Def Jam records-owned by Universal Music Group.  And he released his latest album Thug Motivation 103: Hustlerz Ambition in 2011 via Def Jam.

Jeezy, government name Jay Wayne Jenkins, has been in the game since '01, so he has a pretty good idea of what talent looks like.  And if a star-to-be has what it takes.  Congrats Jeezy!

 

 

And Arsenio Hall is back in the talk show saddle.  After winning Donald Trump's "Celebrity Apprentice" last season, and Srsenio making it known he's ready to come back to his first love of histing a talk show, he's gotten his wish.

Deadline reports the tv veteran just got the greenlight for his new CBS late night talk show.  So it's official, Arsenio's show will debut this fall as part of the CBS TV Distribution, and has been sold to over 85% of markets in the country.

He's one of the best in that lane, so we're glad to see him make a comeback.  Hoot hoot hoot!

LA Reid chatted it up with Bravo's Andy Cohen recently where he dished on Ciara's new album and what we can expect from her. Watch the clip inside....

 

We told you earlier about Ciara's "Sweat" single which came and went with no promotion and left fans scratching their heads.  So when Ciara's mentor LA Reid sat down with Andy Cohen on "Watch What Happens" this week, he talked about what she's up to. 

Mr. Reid revealed that she just did a photoshoot for the One Woman Army disc (she's shown above with the photographer), is about to shoot two new videos, will release new music this month AND One Woman Army should hit stores around Thanksgiving.

NFL Star Ray Edwards STRIPS DOWN For The Sneakers Project!

Oh? Sexy Atlanta Falcons football player Ray Edwards is spreading the word about testicular cancer.  See his nude campaign pic inside and get deets....

 

Atlanta Falcons defensive end Ray Edwards is putting his sexy physique to good use again......and this time it's for testicular cancer. The baller is helping to spread awareness about testing, prevention and treatment of testicular cancer for The Sneakers Project.

The Sneakers Project collects fund and donates to victims of the cancer.  The disease, which kills more men under the age of 30 than women with breast cancer, is very treatable when detected early.

Donate to the project here and contributors can also purchase a book or portraits connected to the project.
