George Clooney always has a mysterious “injury” with each new “girlfriend”

Posted: 21 Nov 2011 09:43 AM PST

Back in the day, when George Clooney was dating Sarah Larson, the two of them got in a "motorcycle accident" which left her in a cast and left Clooney scuffed up. Then a few years later, in 2009, Clooney was with Elisabetta Canalis when he "injured his hand" and had to wear some kind of cast for a little while. The explanation that time was that he had "shut the car door on his hand." I cannot emphasize enough how much I do not believe these explanations. I cannot emphasize enough what a kinky bastard Clooney is, and how (in my mind) he's into rough trade and he's not afraid of bruises. Just last week, Clooney got all excited when describing how big and burly Stacy Keibler is and how she can "kick his ass" easily. And now this… a (sex) injury. Clooney was spotted at the Baltimore Ravens game on Sunday sporting some kind of elbow cast.

Stacy Keibler tweeted about it too, writing: "You kno its love when your boyfriend has elbow surgery 2 days ago and takes u to a #ravens game…especially when he’s a Bengals fan." LOVE? Ugh. Also, People Magazine notes, "There was no word on why Clooney needed the surgery." Can't the answer just be "because he's a kinky bastard"? Like, that's the answer to everything. Why can't George Clooney find a nice, smart girl and settle down? Why hasn't Clooney won the Best Actor Oscar so far? Why does Clooney bring rent-a-dates to the Oscars? Why does every new "girlfriend" come with a new "injury"? BECAUSE HE'S A KINKY BASTARD.

By the way, Lainey notes that Stacy used to have this photo (below) on her Twitter page, and she seems to have deleted it. Hooker over-stepped!

Why does Nicole Richie look like Rachel Zoe all of a sudden?

Posted: 21 Nov 2011 09:40 AM PST

Here’s Nicole Richie last night at Fred Segal promoting her fashion line House of Harlow (above). I didn’t even recognize her from the thumbnails. Her face looks much different to me, like she had fillers or a minor procedure and it hasn’t settled yet. It could be just some overdone makeup and a tired mom, but I’m seeing a big difference in how she looks.

Compare her last night to how she looked on November 12th.

Also this is how she looked on October 17th.

It’s possible she gained a little weight that she really needed, or that she had dental work done. She also now bears a resemblance to her frenemy, Rachel Zoe. Are you seeing it? I am.

I have a question that occurred to me after watching “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” last week. If all your friends were getting Botox, fillers and minor procedures would you do it too? I probably would, I’ll be honest, especially if a close friend had decent results and could recommend someone. That’s why I’m grateful that I no longer live in a big city. I was getting pretty close to that point.

Nicole wore sequin Halston, and the cut of the dress is pretty unflattering. Maybe she’s pregnant and that’s why she’s looking different, or it could just be some unflattering angles or something. I should speculate on Richie’s womb or she’ll verbally bitch slap us again. I pretty much deserve it.

Oh this reminds me that she got new boobs recently. She probably thought she’d get a little something extra while she was in for a check up.

Kate Winslet, hugging Roman Polanski in optical illusion Stella McCartney: bizarre?

Posted: 21 Nov 2011 08:57 AM PST

Here’s Kate Winslet in black and red formfitting Stella McCartney, hugging up on evil troll justice dodger Roman Polanski. If that dress looks familiar it’s because she wore a black and white version of it a couple of months ago to the Venice Film Festival. Now that I’m looking at that earlier dress, I see that it featured a weird white boob shelf thing that this dress lacks. Let’s revisit that earlier dress in all its glory.

See, this red and black version isn’t half as bad. I still really dislike it. It’s a blatant attempt at an optical illusion that makes the wearer look smaller. As Kaiser wrote when she covered the other version of this dress, it’s tacky like a tuxedo t-shirt. Again, at least this one doesn’t emphasize her boobs too. It has the same stitching under the boob area but it’s all one color across the front.

Kate was in Paris at a screening for Carnage, a Roman Polanski-directed film also starring John C. Reilly, Jodie Foster and Christoph Waltz. It’s out December 16th in the US. I hate to say it, but I watched the trailer and it actually looks good. It’s about two couples meeting to discuss a fight their 11 year-old sons had at school. Polanski shouldn’t have a career to speak of, but that doesn’t mean his films are total crap unfortunately. Is there a big difference between showing support for Polanksi by starring in his films vs. kissing him on the red carpet? Probably not.

Getting back to Kate’s look, I was going to say that she even wore the same shoes but she didn’t. Her earlier shoes were similar black platform peep toe heels, but they didn’t have an ankle strap. They’re both too clunky-looking for this type of dress. Mix it up, Kate!

Also, you can tell me she hasn’t had anything done to her face but I’m not buying it.

Viggo Mortensen at a Madrid photo call: still sexy, or looking old and sickly?

Posted: 21 Nov 2011 08:32 AM PST

I'm not a crazy Viggo Mortensen fan. I think he’s very talented, and I find him attractive sometimes, in some films and on some red carpets. I was never a LOTR fanatic, so I have no strong feelings about him there, either. Basically, whenever I ask myself "Is Viggo Mortensen hot?" I think about the balls out (literally) fight scene in Eastern Promises and then I remember that he's got the goods.

So these are new photos of Viggo doing a photo call for A Dangerous Method in Madrid, Spain. FOR WHY isn't Michael Fassbender there?!?!!?!?! I think Fassbender is sticking around LA (and maybe NYC) to just promote the hell out of Shame and really wage a serious Oscar campaign for Best Actor. Still, Fassie could have gotten a free trip to Spain and he and Viggo could have posed together and all would have been right with the world! BOO!!

How do you think Viggo looks here? Something funky is happening to him as he ages – all of a sudden, he's really starting to resemble Ed Harris, right? Viggo's cheeks look hallowed out, and he looks kind of sickly. I think the fix is an easy one, though – he should cut his hair and put on about ten pounds. And maybe use a night cream.

By the way, remember we're doing Hot Guy Thanksgiving this week. I've already got Viggo on the list! Who else should we include?

Jenny McCarthy in Victoria Beckham: modern and pretty or weird?

Posted: 21 Nov 2011 07:32 AM PST

Kaiser covered the bigger names at last night’s American Music Awards, but here we have some more fashion for you. To start there’s Jenny McCarthy in purple Victoria Beckham. I would like this dress with some sexy strappy heels, but those booties are too informal for the red carpet. I really like her hair, that sideswept look is so pretty. Jenny’s makeup is a little severe, but it’s not terrible.

Audrina Patridge still working it like it’s 2006. She has a killer body but that’s a dress for Vegas, not an awards show. Look at her ridiculous stripper heels!

Here’s Julie Bowen getting it wrong again in a sparkly stripe tube dress. Her legs look great, I’ll give her that, but she’s looking gaunt otherwise, and that hair! It’s too messy looking.

Mary J. Blige was bizarre in animal print Cavalli. The print on that dress is way too realistic and it has a weird effect on the eye. It’s like she’s wearing a Halloween costume, not a dress. Plus she’s got on huge earrings that don’t really go with the look. Fug.

Katherine Heigl was also in Cavalli, in slightly more flattering plunging chiffon. I swear I can see her implant scar in one of these photos, and that dress just emphasizes how fake her boobs look. Her hair is not cute at all like that, but it’s short now so she probably didn’t know what to do with it. Katherine and her husband, singer Josh Kelley, presented the award for best Favorite Country Album, which went to Taylor Swift.

And Nicki Minaj wore an Oscar de La Renta gown with a lace bodice and lime green bubble skirt. It’s like she’s channeling Lady Gaga with her fashion and Katy Perry with her hair. Minaj took home awards for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist and Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Album, for “Pink Friday.” I do like her shoes, she picked some nice strappy heels that didn’t overwhelm her already overwhelming outfit. For her, this look is pretty decent.

Beyonce flaunts her now-huge baby bump in Cavalli: lovely & authentic?

Posted: 21 Nov 2011 07:21 AM PST

Here are some photos of Beyonce flaunting her bump at a NYC screening of "Live at Roseland" which is her new concert DVD. The dress is Roberto Cavalli – and I really dislike it. Not very flattering, and the gold stuff on the sides makes the dress look really cheap. Anyway, shall we discuss Beyonce's bump? At this point, I'm kind of over the conversation. Many of us have gone back and forth on this – and I now think that my initial theory was correct – Beyonce is truly pregnant, but she was padding it for the first and second trimesters for whatever reason. Do I think this current bump is real? Well… her face looks fuller. Her boobs look huge, and everything looks so much bigger at this point. Would Bey wear full-body pregnancy padding? Er…maybe?

With her baby due this February, Beyonce’s bump is completely bonafide and undeniable these days — but, back in mid-August, when the superstar’s pregnancy was still under wraps, but she worried the evidence was already obvious.

Beyonce performed four sold-out, intimate shows at NYC’s Roseland Ballroom, and strutted her stuff in a skimpy, sequined mini-dress with a strategically placed bib over her still-tiny belly. (She announced the baby news Aug. 28 at the MTV Video Music Awards.)

“The whole time I definitely was thinking, ‘Everyone knows, everyone can see,”‘ Beyonce, 30, said Sunday night during an onstage interview at NYC’s Paris Theater, where she hosted a special screening for Live at Roseland, a concert film DVD documenting those shows.

The “Love on Top” singer also explained why she booked the quartet of shows at the tiny venue: With her baby on the way, the concerts would be her only opportunity in 2011 to perform songs from her 4 album for fans. And the mom-to-be certainly suffered for her art, too, she said.

“When you’re pregnant, it’s a little bit harder to breathe, so it was hard doing all the choreography and singing at the same time,” said Beyonce, who dressed up her increasingly huge bump in a brown and gold Roberto Cavalli gown.

The DVD will also be a great memento for the child, Beyonce’s first with husband Jay-Z; Beyonce hopes the movie (featuring tons of home footage from rehearsals, Beyonce’s childhood, even a glimpse of her top-secret wedding gown) will impress her little one.

“[I hope he or she will say] I can’t believe I was in that belly!” joked the star.

The new Live at Roseland DVD goes on sale exclusively at Walmart this week.

[From Us Weekly]

Beyonce also released some footage from her wedding on Vevo – you can see it here. It's actually a really sweet video that Bey played as she sang "I Was Here". I hate myself a little bit for tearing up, just so you know.

Jennifer Hudson in Jenny Packham at the AMAs: slightly heavier & improved?

Posted: 21 Nov 2011 06:49 AM PST

I feel like I'm going to be yelled at for what I'm about to say regarding Jennifer Hudson and her figure. Okay… prepare yourselves. I think Jennifer Hudson has gained back some weight. And I think it looks SO GOOD on her. I think she had gotten "too thin" for her frame, and she looked deflated rather than slender and lovely. I'm happy that she's gained some weight back, because it makes her look softer and younger and prettier. Go ahead and yell.

Anyway, J-Hud was wearing this silvery/metallic Jenny Packham dress. Look at the empire waist – that's the trick that girls use when they've gained some weight in their midsection. Luckily for J-Hud, when she gains weight, it mostly goes to her boobs, her face and her arms, because those are the areas where she needed to gain a little bit back. The dress itself is cute but nothing special – but it is interesting to me how the Duchess of Cambridge has now made Jenny Packham a major designer. I had never been aware of Packham before Duchess Kate started wearing her dresses all over the place. I'm guessing Kate didn't wear this one because it's much too short for her current style.

One last thing – look at J-Hud's fantastic legs! I wish my calves looked that great.

‘Breaking Dawn’ crushes all of the box-office headboards with $139.5 million

Posted: 21 Nov 2011 06:34 AM PST

With some movies, reviews just don’t matter. Such was the case for the latest Twilight Saga installment, Breaking Dawn Part I, which received a 29% certified “rotten” score from critics yet nonetheless went on to secure an estimated $139.5 million opening weekend. Even though this result isn’t quite as remarkable as New Moon‘s $142.5 million opener, Summit Entertainment still has absolutely nothing to complain about:

While it wasn’t quite able to reach the series high $139.5 million opening indicated that the sexy teen vampires are as popular as ever. What does appear to have lost some of its appeal, however, is dancing penguins: Happy Feet Two struggled to even open to half as much as its popular 2006 predecessor. Overall box office was up around 20 percent to at least $218 million, and the weekend could wind up ranking as the fifth-highest on record.

Breaking Dawn‘s $139.5 million opening is second-best among Twilight movies behind 2009′s New Moon ($142.7 million). That’s a small gap, though, and Breaking Dawn still managed to claim fifth place on the all-time opening weekend chart behind Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, The Dark Knight, Spider-Man 3 and New Moon. As is typical for the Twilight movies, its weekend was incredibly front-loaded with 51.6 percent of the gross coming from Friday showings (including its $30.25 midnight tally).

The audience was 80 percent female and 60 percent over 21 years old. That’s more female-skewing than Eclipse (65 percent) but even with New Moon (80 percent). Also, the audience was younger for those movies (only 50 percent over 21 years old), though it’s logical for the crowd to age along with the series. Breaking Dawn received a “B+” CinemaScore, which improved to an “A-” among females.

Happy Feet Two debuted to an estimated $22 million, or just over half as much as the $41.5 million that the first Happy Feet opened to on the same weekend in 2006.CinemaScore.

[From Box Office Mojo]

Score one for Summit’s marketing team, which clearly embraced the balls-out absurdity of Stephenie Meyer’s fourth book. From the very first movie still, which featured the tell-tale after effects of Edward Cullen’s pillowbiting frenzy, the entire promotional scheme for this movie highlighted the main question that the Twihards were dying to know — how could anyone possibly translate all of the book’s ridiculous happenings into a watchable, PG-13 movie? Of course, I’ll issue a mild SPOILER ALERT while also suggesting that all interested parties review the film’s theatrical trailer:

See? The trailer embraces the pure camp of the book (and series) by kicking things off with the long-suffering Jacob ripping off his shirt and wolfing out while his poor father heads out after him in the pouring rain. Jacob, of course, was in agony because Bella was marrying Edward, but all fans of the book realize that Jacob later imprints on a baby. Naturally, a lot of people (myself included) were very interested to see how director Bill Condon could possibly interpret that jacked-up moment on film as well as the notorious birth scene. This is not to mention the headboard-crushing moment when an 117-year-old vampire has sex for the very first time, which is also prominently featured within the trailer as well. Brilliant marketing, indeed. So yes, Breaking Dawn Part I achieved a very well-deserved victory this weekend at least from a promotional standpoint.

Also, I kind of love this unintentionally hilarious still of Kellan Lutz carrying the trunk of a redwood tree in manner of Arnold Schwarzenegger in Commando. You just know that the Lutz is carrying a big hunk of plastic:

Selena Gomez in silver Armani: amazing or too sexy?

Posted: 21 Nov 2011 05:39 AM PST

Selena Gomez, 19, went old school glam at the American Music Awards last night in silver satin Armani. She paired this stunning dress with Jimmy Choo heels that were a little too much, in my opinion. Gomez is vamping it up so much that she should have let this clingy dress with the deep neckline work its magic with some understated shoes. Still, her look is killer and I love her perfectly waved sideswept hair and elegant makeup. This is one glamorous, sophisticated look.

I can’t say as much for Selena’s date, her boyfriend widdle Justin Bieber. He looks like he overdid the pomade on his way to a meeting of the He-Man Woman Hater’s Club. (He’s Alfalfa and still plays the overeager boyfriend role.) Why is it that no matter what this kid does with his hair he still looks like a little twerp?

Bieber may have already taken a paternity test to put to rest a 20 year-old woman’s claim that he fathered her four month-old son. Bieber’s manager said last Thursday that his client was set to take the test the next day, Friday. Bieber’s accuser, Mariah Yeater, claims that she had a quickie with Bieber in a bathroom following a concert in Los Angeles last fall. Yeater’s story quickly fell apart when she was interviewed and seemed unable to remember basic details of that night. TMZ also uncovered texts in which Yeater stated that her baby was fathered by another man, an ex boyfriend. During her pregnancy she accused yet another man of fathering the baby. So it looks like the only woman for Justin is Selena. I would say “awww,” but it still kind of creeps me out.

Jennifer Lopez “copies” Britney Spears at the AMAs: crass or cute?

Posted: 21 Nov 2011 05:38 AM PST

Jennifer Lopez made a "triumphant return" to the American Music Awards last night – she performed a medley of her hits “Until It Beats No More,” “Papi” and “On the Floor.” We only have photos of Jennifer's post-performance gown, though – it's this interesting Zuhair Murad gown that… I kind of love. I would hate this gown on nearly anyone else, but Jennifer comes really close to pulling it off. It's a weird effect, but it's good on her. I just wish J.Lo hadn't gone full Croydon Facelift.

Anyway, about the medley – Jennifer wore Giambattista Valli at first, and then everything came off in layers until she was "performing" in a nude bodysuit with sparkles, much like Britney Spears's infamous VMA performance more than a decade ago. Here's a pretty good video of J.Lo's performance – if the video gets deleted, I'll try to find another one:

People are making a big deal about Jennifer "copying" something so iconic from Britney, but as a casual follower of Jennifer's hit-or-miss performances, I can say that this is not even the first time Jennifer has performed in a nude bodysuit with sparkles – bitch loves catsuits and bodysuits, and this is nothing new. Still, I guess it's interesting to see a 42 year old woman do the sparkly bodysuit thing.

Jennifer also won favorite Latin Artist, AND she got a standing ovation for her performance. Oh, J. Lo. One last thing: did anyone else notice the crassness with which Jennifer shilled for Fiat during her performance? She has a contract with Fiat, she put Fiat in her music video for "Papi" and she actually did a commercial for Fiat. And now she's pulling Fiats into her live performances. I don't begrudge an artist for "selling out," but Jesus, even I find this incredibly crass.
