Breaking Dawn Is Giving People Seizures

Posted: 25 Nov 2011 09:22 AM PST

Did you think the most damage caused by a Twilight movie was fits of hyperventilation caused by Taylor Lautner removing his shirt? Turns out that’s just child’s play compared to the seizures folks have been suffering during that infamous birthing scene. Several people have reported having Breaking Dawn-induced seizures, one so severe that the paramedics were called.

The scene in question features, in addition to a creepy, horrifying birth, red, white and black flashes across the screen – which doesn’t sit well with the epileptic brain. The instance involving paramedics went down in Sacramento, and it was so severe that the rest of the screening was canceled.

Somehow, this has got to be just another argument in favor of celibacy. Oh, Twilight and your weird morality!

Video: Lady Gaga Performs ‘Marry The Night’ On A Very Lady Gaga Thanksgiving

Posted: 24 Nov 2011 12:23 PM PST

Tonight, we get to see how the other half celebrates Thanksgiving: Superstar Lady Gaga shot an ABC special called A Very Gaga Thanksgiving, in which she makes paper turkeys with girls from her elementary school and performs her singles for an “intimate crowd” of family and friends. Her VEVO channel released one of the clips today, of her first full performance of “Marry the Night.”

Katie Couric, whose interview with Gaga at Convent of the Sacred Heart High School will be included in the program, said of the performer‘s decision to tone things down for the special:

This is a chance to see more of who she is beneath the wild costumes and staged musical numbers… Lady Gaga as a high school student still bruised by being excluded from the party, Lady Gaga as a devoted daughter and caring sister, Lady Gaga as a 25-year-old woman embracing fame and fortune that seemed to come overnight. She will impress you, delight you and surprise you.

Unlike her outlandish music videos, with costume changes and religious imagery, this is a pared-down Gaga—though “pared-down” for her means dressed to the nines in a princess tiara and having her performance broadcast to millions of viewers. We’re inclined to agree with Idolator that this is better as the exception than the rule: We usually prefer our four to five minutes to include Russian mobsters and glittering tigers in Vegas.

Here’s the teaser for the whole show, airing tonight at 9:30 p.m. EST.
