MOVIE FAB: Chris Brown Lands Another Movie For +Samuel L. Jackson Has Grossed Over $7 Billion?!

Chris Brown is set to star in a new movie alongside Meagan Good & Sherri Shepherd.  Get the deets inside.  Plus Samuel L. Jackson becoming the highest grossing actor of all time. And take a peek at Paula Patton's new trailer for "Mission Impossible: 4"...

 

Breezy's still sharpening his acting skills these days.  He is set to play the lead in the upcoming movie Phenom.  The storyline:

With the NBA playoffs right around the corner, the press learns that the league's new hotshot player -- a young man who went pro after high school -- is the illegitimate son of an aging NBA star.  The player attempts to make a life with his newly found father and step brother.

Henry Simmons is attached to play the Father (sr. Phenom), Donta Storey as Chris' half brother, and Grayson Boucher as Chris' bestfriend. Meagan Good is also likely going to play his love interest.  While Sherri Shepherd has a role as well.

The movie is slated to begin shooting mid-2012 after Chris releases his next album FORTUNE.

 

 

Paramount Pictures has unveiled a brand new trailer today for "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol," starring Tom Cruise and Paula Patton.

 

"M:I4" is set to hit theaters on December 21st.

 

And word has it Samuel L. Jackson grossed over 7 BILLION during the span of his career.  The Guinness Book of World Records posted the tidbit, and NY Daily News reports:

Samuel L. Jackson has grossed an astounding $7.42 billion over the span of his entire film career by the Guinness Book of World Record.

Jackson, 62, received his biggest break in the industry, starring in the 1991 Spike Lee film "Jungle Fever." Since then, the actor has appeared in over 100 films from his critically acclaimed performance in "Pulp Fiction" to landing a recurring role in the galactic space film series "Star Wars."
 

WOW.  This isn't clear on if he made this much salary wise or if the movies he was in grossed this amount total--but either way, it's a FAB accomplishment.  WORK.

Rapper Trina performed in Chicago recently where she slipped up on stage....in her red bottoms.  See the video inside and find out what happens when a perfectly healthy celebrity (Usher) parks in a "handicapped" spot in Atlanta. And watch Keri Hilson get attacked by an "excited" Parisian fan.

 

Another celebrity bites the dust.....or the stage.

While performing her songs in Chicago recently, Trina must have worn a slippery pair of red bottoms because she got to the end of the stage and took a dive.  It wasn't a big fall, but enough to get folks' attention.

Usher was on his way to the Little 5 Points Halloween Parade in Atlanta where he was confronted in the middle of a crowded parking lot for daring to park in a handicapped spot. 

When an irrate female saw Usher's SUV in the spot, she demanded he move his car.  But when he didn't, she WENT OFF!  There was a lot of screaming and flailing of the arms, and she grabbed at the singer. 

She screamed, "You don't belong here!" and her husband eventually dragged her away from the scene.

Folks need to stay on their meds.

 

Meanwhile in Paris......

 

Keri Hilson set Paris on fire recently and some of her male fans couldn't stand the heat.  During one point in her show (check the 2:17 mark), an eager male fan rushed the stage and grabbed Miss Hilson, sending the artist into shock.  And what's bad about the situation is that it took security a minute to get him off her.  Folks are wilin!

NEW MUSIC: Justin Bieber Taps Mariah Carey For "All I Want For Christmas" Remix & Busta Rhymes For "Drummer Boy" Remake

Mariah Carey went and remixed her most popular Christmas song ever again...."All I Want For Christmas."  And this time she collaborated with Justin Bieber for his own Christmas album.  Plus, The Biebs just released his "Little Drummer Boy" sing with Busta Rhymes as well.

The next singles off Justin's Under The Mistletoe Christmas album (out November 1st) feature more YBF folks--Mimi & Busta.  Y'all know how I feel about my Mariah Christmas albums so I'm a little biased on this "All I Want For Christmas" remix above.  It really should have been left alone.

Steve Stoute And Jay-Z Reveal Why Hip Hop Runs The Tanned World

With his NY Times bestseller The Tanning Of America, still flying off shelves, Steve Stoute sat down with Jay-Z to talk about hip hop culture and why it's become such a global force culturally.  See the interview inside...

In a new web series that coincides with his debut book, Steve Stoute and HuffPost Black Voices presented the first episode in of "The Tanning Effect" featuring an exclusive interview with Jay-Z.  Mr. Carter reveals the meaning of his joint album with Kanye West, his epiphany that his music has a substantial impact on mainstream America, and being an unpaid spokesman for Cristal champagne.

During the interview the two discussed the success of Watch the Throne debuting at number one in 23 countries and when he first realized that his music had a substantial impact on mainstream America.  

While discussing hip hop's impact, Jay-Z said,

"Hip Hop is a global thing almost the way jazz was."  While he compares the freedom of hip hop to how jazz music had limitless boundaries, he continued,

"Hip hop has a voice and spoke directly to people and to their heart and how they were feeling."

Jay said he first knew the impact of hip-hop on mainstream America when he did "The Hard Knock Life Tour" with DMX, Method Man and Red Man.  And once he got to the concert, he saw that the audience was 80% white, and then he realized that the "hip-hop" audience was bigger than just "THE BLOCK."

Teyana Taylor and her on-again off-again baller boyfriend Brandon Jennings got cuddly last night in NYC for a sportswear event.  Pics of the twosome under the cut....

Funny how being in love can turn a tomboy into a smiley girly girl.  The 20-year-old twerk-team-leader/actress/singer Teyana Taylor was spotted at the Under Armour Are You Here? Event in NYC with her boo, 22-year-old Milwaukee Bucks guard Brandon Jennings. 

After hitting up the Tower Heist premiere party a couple nights ago with Russell Simmons together, they hung out for the unveiling of the campaigns' new commercial and the company's new sportswear.

 

Brandon hung out with his homies Derrick Williams of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Kemba Walker of the Charlotte Bobcats as well.

Cute.

Gloria Govan Dishes On Possibly Getting Back With Matt Barnes, Not Being A Groupie, & Sis Laura's 23 Karat Diamond Ring!

It's been a few days since they announced their break-up, and now "Basketball Wives: LA" star Gloria Govan has some things to say about her and former fiance' Matt Barnes.

 

Check out what Glo had to say about them possibly getting back together in the future....and rumors of her simply getting out of the relationship so she could be a groupie...inside.....

Gloria Govan chatted with VH1 this week during the "Basketball Wives: LA" reunion show taping about her break up.  And she says she's doing just fine where she is now and she's focusing on her twins Isaiah and Carter.  And she wishes Matt the best.

 

Also, during her cit chat with Egypt on WBLS today, she also revealed hat her sister, Laura's, engagement ring from Gilbert Arenas is 23 Karats....in case you were wondering what that big ass rock was on her finger lately.

In her recent interview with VH1 about the split, she said she's not interested in dating other people...and her whole family wants her and Matt to get back together:

Can you talk about your split?
Matt and I do have kids and we’re trying to be as cordial as we can right now and we’ll be in each other’s lives forever, but as relationships go, we have our ups and downs. It hasn’t been an easy ride moving across the country twice, having kids at 21 when I just graduated college, it hasn’t been easy. And now Matt has the lockout, so everything has been stressful with the breakup, the lockout, everything, it’s been a whirlwind. But we’re still friends and we’re still working things out and I wish him nothing but the best.

[VH1] just asked your sister Laura about it and she said she thinks you’ll get back together.

Of course she does. My whole family is rooting for that man. I swear. They would pick him over me. I’ve learned my lesson, never say never and I think anything is possible, but right now I’m taking my time to grow as an individual. Not only for myself but for my family. We’ll see. I’m not going to say never, I’m optimistic, but for now…we’re going our separate ways. But if our paths cross again it’s meant to be. For now, we’re just taking our time to do our own thing. And Laura of course wants it. With her situation with Gilbert (Arenas), she’s been in and out, out and in. She has a lot of experience and good advice when it comes to situations like this.

Do you want to sow your oats and date other people, is that part of it?

I think that’s a lot of people’s assumption, that oh, she wants to f— around and f— everything because he did and it’s like NO. A), it’s such a double standard, even if I wanted to I can’t because they’d put me on blast if I did. And B) I have kids, you know? I’m not looking to date anyone at this moment, I’m just going to take this opportunity to take a step back and reevaluate where I wanna go in life. And I think I have a long way to go to make my mark in feature films and in my community, but I’m happy. I’m happy with where I am now.

The "Basketball Wives L.A." cast just filmed their reunion show this week and it will air November 21st & 28th in a 2-part show. The season finale airs Nov. 14th.

1.  Based on just released audio, Terrell Owens' assistant is the person who called 9-1-1 due during his recent drug overdose, and she claims it was a suicide attempt.  You also hear her speaking to T.O.'s publicist Kita in the background. Story

2.  Shaquille O'Neal is trying to run for Sheriff of Lake County, FL, despite having a court date over that Vanessa Lopez situation.  Story

“VH1 Divas” is back.  Mary J. Blige, who just hit the stage at last night's TeenNick HALO Awards in Hollywood, is this year's honoree.  And Jill Scott, Florence + The Machine, Jennifer Hudson, and more are on the list too.

 

Deets inside on who's getting divalicious, plus cover girl Jennifer Lopez is named GLAMOUR Mag's Woman of the Year, inside....

VH1 is bringing back "VH1 Divas," which benefits the VH1 Save The Music Foundation.  And this round they're paying tribute to the cities where soul gave birth to music’s most powerful classics that inspired today’s divas. Mary J. Blige (pictured above on stage at last night's TeenNick HALO Awards), Jennifer Hudson, Jill Scott, Florence + The Machine, Kelly Clarkson and Jessie J will pay homage to these cities at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom.

“VH1 Divas Celebrate Soul” will have the best singers on hand to honor the soulful cities that inspired these divas and their art. The cities honored include: Chicago, Detroit, London, Memphis and Philadelphia. Accompanied by The Roots, with Questlove as musical director, each diva will pay tribute through not only their own soul-inspired songs, but some of the greatest classics that have shaped a genre.

The show premieres Monday, December 19 at 9 PM/8c on VH1.

 

And the gorgeous Jennifer Lopez has just been named GLAMOUR Magazine's Woman of the Year. So, of course, she's rocking the December 2011 cover of the mag.

Get ready for yet another "classy" video at the urban mecca of hip-hop dance theatre....the strip club.  Ne-Yo, Trey Songz and T-Pain join forces for Ne-Yo latest single, "The Way You Move."  Watch it inside....

 

Shot on location at "Diamonds" strip club in Atlanta, Ne-Yo linked up with Trey Songz and T-Pain for his latest single "The Way You Move." 

In the Clifton Bell-directed video, half-naked women climb all over the performers and...well that's pretty much the whole concept.  The song appears DJ Wonda’s mixtape Tough Love.

Michael Vick Talks To "UPTOWN" About Success And Finally Finding Happiness After Prison

Sexy Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick opens up to UPTOWN Magazine about the reinvention his brand has gone through since his very public smack-down for dog fighting a few years ago. See the highlights inside....

 

Just a few years ago, Michael Vick's name was at the bottom of the rung due to his dog fighting sins.

Now a few years have passed (as well as a very public spanking and jail stint) and Mike has returned more victorious than ever.  His career is back on track as the starting QB and having the top numbers in the NFL, he's still engaged to his love Kijafa, and he has found happiness saying, “I never thought this day would come.”

He sat down for a cautious interview with the Oct/Nov 2011 issue of UPTOWN Magazine (he rarely talks to the press) and here are some of the highlights.....

 

On finding success as a pro-football player....AGAIN

"I am determined to become a better student of the game and I knew I had to work at it.  I was young when I was in Atlanta. I’m older now. I’ve been through a lot and I think I’ve matured. I had some good years there, but I’m just so thankful to be in Philadelphia right now. I could not have landed in a better city. This is my home. This is where I want to be, and I take this opportunity seriously.”

On the Philly Eagles' fans embracing him

“It was awesome. When I was running out onto the field I was listening to see what the reaction was going to be, I was very pleased.  I really didn’t expect that reaction, but I was very thankful.”  He continued, “You have to take precautions, but this is what I love to do. I want to be there for my team and do what I have to do as a quarterback to be successful.”

On finding happiness

“[Two years ago], I was happy just to be on a team. When I was in prison, I prayed for another opportunity. And when I signed with the Eagles, that opportunity had come. I was ecstatic at that point, and I’m even happier now.”
