VIDEOS: 50 Cent's "American Gangster" AUDITION Tape "Skills" + T Boz & Chilli Have "Girl Talk" With Lil' Mama & Drew Sidora Posted: 23 Oct 2013 08:41 AM PDT Hardcore gangsta rapper 50 Cent tapped into his emotions for his American Gangster audition tape.  Watch the clip inside and see why he WAS NOT picked for the film and laugh along with T-Boz and Chilli as they have some "Girl Talk" with Lil' Mama and Drew Sidora.   Rapper 50 Cent may have Hollywood credits like Get Rich Or Die Tryin' under his belt, but there's a huge reason he wasn't cast to star alongside Denzel Washington in the critically acclaimed 2007 film American Gangster. Defamer recently leaked 50's audition tape for the role of "Huey Lucas" where he attempts to have a raw conversation with Denzel's "Frank" character. You'll see from the way 50 stares into the camera that he was really trying to tap into his emotions and reach for a "Demi Moore" single tear, but sadly, it never came. VIBE Vixen paired TLC's T-Boz and Chilli with Crazy Sexy Cool: The TLC Story stars Drew Sidora and Lil' Mama for a cutesy "Girl Talk"-style sit down.  During the chat, the ladies talked about the audition process, how long it took to complete the film, and complimented Lil' Mama on her spot-on portrayal of Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes.  Chilli said, "I always tell people Lisa had a hand in this too, because she sent you too. Something happened because I'm like oh my God she looks so much like Lisa." Watch the interview below...

INTERVIEW: Chrissy Lampkin -- "I'm Not PLAYING Stepmom....I AM Stepmom!" Posted: 23 Oct 2013 07:45 AM PDT Now that Chrissy Lampkin & her fiance Jim Jones are bringing Jimmy's son Pudie into the VH1 fold to star in season 2, we had to ask one of our fave hip hop couples (we can't help it...we love them) what their relationship is like NOW.   Check out what the realest couple on VH1 dished to us inside.... More cuteness has entered the Jones household in season 2 of "Chrissy & Mr. Jones".  And it's in the form of youngin' who is just as cute as his pops.   As Jimmy's son, Joseph "Pudie" Jones, Jr., moves in with rapper Jimmy & Chrissy full time, Chrissy switches her priorities to step mommy duty.  Especially because Pudie's adorableness, brilliance and "shrewd operator" style--as he's been described to us--causes instant chaos when teamed up with his daddy.  Chrissy & Jimmy chatted with TheYBF.com about the new season.  And we asked the budding fashion designer what it's like playing stepmommy. "I'm not playing step-mom, I am a step-mom," she told us.  "It's family life and I think it brings a lot of joy in our household." We stand corrected. And if having Pudie in the house gives her baby fever...she said not exactly.  But the couple isn't ruling anything out: "I don't know about baby fever but we would definitely welcome a new addition." And since Chrissy & Jim's story has been teetering between marriage or no marriage (it seems to change every season), Chrissy confirmed to us they're still engaged...but there's no wedding date set....STILL. "No [there's no date set]," Crissy revealed.  "We've been focusing on raising our son and getting to the business. That's been our focus." And the ever romantic (when he wants to be) Jimmy chimed in about the key to having a successful business and personal relationship. "Having a business and personal relationship is a real test but if everyone knows what's going on then it shouldn't be that hard. Chrissy and I have been together for a long time so we know each others' strong points, weak points, and what ticks the other person off. But when it comes to doing business, we got put all that to side and get straight to the business. We got a cool understanding." And then there's Mama Jones' relationship book.  On how Chrissy feels about it and if Jim could learn anything from the book? Chrissy told us, "I don't know. Mama Jones is Mama Jones. I have the book but I haven't read it. A part of me is scared and she's telling me don't be. I don't know what to expect from that book." Ha! Jimmy stuck up for Moms and said, "My mom has lived a lot of life and she's been a lot of different relationships so I'm sure there's a few lessons in there."   And as for Chrissy's goals for her Lady Vamp collection (a line she's developing alongside Jimmy's VAMP brand)? "I would love to see it as a full lady line. I want it to be sexy, edgy, chic, comfortable, etc. You will definitely be seeing more of my business side this season." We've obtained more stills Mrs. Carter's  fab & fierce 2014 calendar which she shot with famed photographers Herring & Herring. And the "#1 diva in the game for a minute" is posing it up in sky high stilleto boots, peplum jackets, wide brim hats, cigars, menswear and skin that's to die for. Bey is currently on the Australian leg of The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour which she'll end in Perth on Nov. 9th. She heads back to North America with a show in Vancouver on Nov. 30th before she ends the tour at Brooklyn's Barclays Center on Dec. 22nd.  Whew. AINT 2 PROUD 2 "BRAG": TLC Shatters Ratings With 4.5 Million Viewers, Left Eye's SISTER Reigndrop Lopes Has Some Words... Posted: 22 Oct 2013 04:15 PM PDT VH1's TLC biopic debuted to record ratings last night and even won the praises of Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes' sister, Reigndrop Lopes.  Find out how well the film performed inside and read Reigndrop's statement.....   The stars and executive producers of CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story have something to sing about as the film's tv ratings and social media presence were far from scrub-ish. Last night's bio pic became VH1's "Red Light Special", drawing 4.5 million viewers, making it the network's highest-rated telecast in more than five years.  Deadline also reported that CrazySexyCool is the No. 1 original cable movie this year and was Monday night's most tweeted program.  No surprise there with black Twitter dragging Pebbles, L.A. Reid and their son Aaron all night... Reina "Reigndrop" Lopes, the sister of Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, was also pleased with how the film turned out.  Though she would have like more input into her sister's portrayal, she sang praises about the film and Lil' Mama's performance.  Here's her statement,  "It would have been nice if Lisa's family would have been invited to take part in this journey of making the TLC movie. Honestly, I think it would have added depth to Lisa's on screen character. I think Lil Mama did a good job at portraying my sis. She did her homework and studied Lisa. As a fan, I know it was important for Lil Mama to represent Lisa correctly--and she did just that! Although the script didn't allow her to bring Lisa's true character to light. She did the best with what she had to work with. All the girls did a good job!"   Congrats ladies! Now, which 90's group should get a biopic next? Solo has never been shy to flex those killer legs for the cameras.  So this morning, she helped Ebay announce their new 'Collections' feature, a Pinterest-like tool that will update the website and make it more current, while rocking black super short-shorts and a buttoned up printed blouse.   She snapped a pic with host and newlywed Pharrell too.  Cute! Solange also announced today the newest project off her Saint Records label.  It's a collection of music called SAINT HERON, described as "a compilation of contemporary genre defying R&B visionaries."  Cassie, Jhene Aiko, Solange herself and the following will all be featured:     Nice! In other fab chicks in music news, Janelle Monae is rocking the October/November 2013 cover of UPTOWN Magazine.   The Electric Lady sat down with the mag over in Paris.  And gushed about all things chic and girly girl: “I love it here,” she says. “Parisians are so warm, welcoming and dangerous. I feel like a beetle that is carefully held and protected in Paris. They are so fun and free and crazy. INTERVIEWS: Kanye West DISCUSSES Classism, His "White Voice" & More...Right Before The Proposal Posted: 22 Oct 2013 02:02 PM PDT Kanye West appeared on WiLD 94.9′s “The JV Show” in San Francisco yesterday where he discussed his issues with class in America, how he "feels" when he's invited to exclusive parties and his 8-year fight to sit in the front row at fashion week. Watch the video inside.... Even as  the world's #1 rockstar, Kanye West admitted to Wild 94.9 that he still experiences issues with class and race .  While opening up about his 8-year fight to attend fashion week and white people's fascination with his "grill", Kanye revealed that he thinks classism is the biggest issue in America. And he may have a point.  Watch what he said below and read other quotables from the interview.   On his "white" voice (which is actually called code switching):  “It was a classist move that even when you get invited to certain dinner parties or even when you’re in certain magazines it’s still like a Dinner for Schmucks situation. Are they inviting you to be a part of what you’re doing or are they inviting you to laugh at your teeth? And ask you a million questions like, ‘Oh, those are cool teeth.’ And then we have our thing that every time we do it, we give ‘em the white voice. It goes both ways, but we’re right now in a crash of the classes. America, being the newest country, and especially out here in San Francisco, where people can just became a billionaire off an idea, and the amount of information you get on the Internet and that people can educate themselves, the shift is gonna change. I think that I’m one of the people at the forefront because I had to fight to get into fashion shows eight years ago.” On bringing Jesus on tour with him: “I had a friend of mine that’s a pastor there as we started discussing how we wanted to deliver it. My girl even asked afterwards, ‘Hmm, is that weird if Jesus comes on stage?’ No, we do plays all the time where people play Jesus. You know what’s awesome about Christianity is we’re allowed to portray God. We’re allowed to draw an image of him, we’re allowed to make movies about him. Other religions you’re not allowed to do that.” On the message behind his religious theatrics: “It’s a painting, it’s a sculpture, it’s a moving opera, it’s a play, it’s a message. I’m not gonna even do any comparisons with that ’cause God knows where my heart is at. One of the things that I wanted to really get across with that message is that you can have a relationship with Jesus, that you can talk to Jesus.” On his relationship with Jesus: “I’m a performance artist, I’m a believer, and I think if anytime the word Jesus can be used more in our lives, I believe it’s a good thing. With my heroes, people wanna be like Mike. I wanna be like Christ.” On the Illuminati: “It’s a sexy word. We could make a cologne out of it or something. EVENT FAB: Kanye West & Angela Bassett Pay TRIBUTE To Steve McQueen & Lupita Nyong'o At The Hollywood Film Awards Posted: 22 Oct 2013 11:25 AM PDT Kanye West and Angela Bassett both appeared at The Hollywood Film Awards last night to present awards to Steve McQueen and Lupita Nyong'o. Check out the fab pics and find out why Steve and Lupita were honored inside....   Last night, some of Hollywood's finest and most glamorous stars gathered for the 17th annual Hollywood Film Awards at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.  And our new fave YBF chick Lupita was simply stunning in yellow as usual. The Hollywood Film Awards, founded in 1997 and determined by founder and executive director Carlos de Abreu and an advisory committee, have proven to be a great indicator of future Academy Award nominees. This year, Oscar-nominee Angela Bassett was on hand to present an award to 12 Years a Slave newcomer/scene-stealer Lupita Nyong'o. We gushed about the Yale School of Drama graduate a few weeks ago (Angela is also an alum) where we revealed that 12 Years A Slave was her big Hollywood debut.    Angela remarked that Lupita gave "a breakthrough performance that you will not soon forget" before the fab chick accepted the New Hollywood Award. She also tearfully thanked her mother and director/fellow honoree Steve McQueen. "Steve, I will never forget this opportunity you gave to me... I am so proud to be a part of 12 Years a Slave." Newly-engaged rapper Kanye West attended the ceremony to honor director Steve McQueen.    Kanye presented the first award of the night, the Hollywood Breakout Director Award, to Steve for his film 12 Years a Slave.  While accepting the award, Steve joked,  "I've arrived!" before explaining that he took on the project to foster a "reconciliation with the past in order get to a brighter future." THR reports that Kanye flew in to L.A. from from San Francisco to present the award to Steve and he said, "I've always admired Steve's work," noting that the movie was "..extremely moving."  After the ceremony, Kanye hopped a flight back to San Francisco where he popped the question to Kim!   Also, Jane Fonda and Forest Whitaker presented Lee Daniels with the Hollywood Director Award for his success with Lee Daniels' The Butler. Drama is a-brew again in the Tamar Braxton camp.  So....after the internets had lots to say about her "Hot Sugar" video...and most weren't good things....Tamar is lashing out at the photographers/videographers who apparently abandoned the project! The team of Gomillion and Leupold have been shooting Rihanna lately during her Diamonds world tour (those chic Mosque pics) and her Winter collection for River Island (above and below).  But it seems as if they chucked deuces to Tamar in the middle of the video project to go work with RiRi around the world.  Bloop! Meagan glowed in all white on last night's carpet for the ELLE Women In Hollywood 20th Annual celebration at the Four Seasons Hotel.  The sexy jumper was complete with a plunging neckline and embellishments around the trim of the jumper. She hit the carpet with her hubby DeVon Franklin.  And the twosome looked great.   The star of Mandela and Skyfall, Naomie Harris, was gorge in a fringed black & white dress as she posed it up with her award alongside fellow honorees Melissa McCarthy and Shailene Woodley. "Revenge" actress Ashley Madekwe and "Vampire Diaries" star Kat Graham, both rocking the color of the night, also posed it up with Naomie.  Naya Rivera also showed up in a white plunging neckline jumpsuit.  Super chic look for her.    "Parenthood" star Joy Bryant looked nice in white separates.   And also last night, Diddy celebrated the HUGE launch of his new network Revolt which kicked off last night on Time Warner Cable & Comcast.  He and all his homies hit up Slate sportsbar in NYC:   His homies Rick Ross, French Montana, Kenny Burns and more were all on hand to congratulate the head honcho. His longtime homies DJ D-Nice and Mary J Blige was right by his side too. And, of course, so was his lady Cassie.  She was spotted posing it up with DJ Cassidy.
