Janelle Monae Rocks "SNL" + Nicki Minaj Surprises Villanova University Students For HOOPS MANIA Posted: 27 Oct 2013 09:14 AM PDT Janelle Monae took over the stage for last night's episode of "SNL."  Check out the Electric Lady doing what she does best inside, plus Nicki Minaj rolling up to Villanova University to surprise students during Hoops Mania... With actor Ed Norton hosting, Janelle Monae livened up "SNL" with a couple of electrifying performances. Check out Ms. Monae rock "Electric Lady" & "Dance Apocalyptic" below: The flawless faced Cover Girl will also be named Billboard’s Rising Star at the 2013 Billboard Women in Music event.  She will join P!nk, who is this year’s Woman of the Year, at the event on Dec. 10th in New York City. Janelle said about the huge honor: “Being recognized for your hard work and passion is always humbling and encouraging. I feel honored Billboard has taken note of my journey in the music industry thus far.  I hope by receiving this award I'm encouraging aspiring acts to stay true to their own artistic visions and never give up.” And also last night, the busy lady rocked out at Black Girls Rock! in New Jersey!   Another music chick, Nicki Minaj, was also super busy yesterday.  After rocking out at Powerhouse in Philly Friday night, she spent Saturday at Villanova University in PA "surprising" college students with a concert performance: It was all for the school's annual Hoop Mania event which kicks off the huge b-ball school's season.  So the Men's & Women's Basketball Teams hooked Nicki up with a pink trimmed custom jersey, a mini pink basketball and a whole lot of ogling. After flying through a 30 minute set with all her hits, Nicki posted this video she took of the Men's basketball Team reminding them to not get trapped by these chicks out here.  Hilar.   She tweeted afterwards, “Villanova, thank you for having me. BET taping at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center.  Decide if we love it inside... Rocking an exaggerated shoulder curve hugging black mini dress and sexy over-the-knee boots, Weight Watchers spokeswoman Jennifer Hudson showed off her sleek bod and brand new short coif. The fab chick, who currently stars in the independent film The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Peete, was on hand to present Queen Latifah with the Rock Star Award and to perform her new single "I Can't Describe (The Way It Feels)." Looks like this new short cut is what she might be rocking during promo for her upcoming musical film Black Nativity. BREAKING: Chris Brown ARRESTED In D.C. After Howard Homecoming AfterParty! Posted: 27 Oct 2013 07:08 AM PDT Chris Brown was arrested early this morning in D.C. after a scuffle after a Howard University Homecoming afterparty.  The breaking deets inside.... Around 4:30AM this morning, singer Chris Brown was arrested for felony assault after allegedly throwing punches at a guy outside the W Hotel on 15th & K.   Breezy was hosting a Howard University Homecoming afterparty at The Park on Fourteenth nightclub last night (pictured above on his way there).  And apparently, when he made his way to the W afterwards, drama occurred. TMZ reports that law enforcement confirmed that Chris got into an argument with a man outside the hotel, then allegedly started punching him. And seeing that Chris is still on probation for the Rihanna domestic violence case, this type of arrest could violate his probation and cause some serious issues. A few hours before his arrest, Breezy was spotted inside The Park happily singing along to his and Brandy's song "Put It Down": And was also spotted partying inside with his homie, newbie August Alsina: We guess ish got too real after that. We'll keep you updated as the story develops.... BONUS: Chris was spotted posing it up with fans (above) at his performance in Philly Friday night for Powerhouse.   The Randomness: 1. Jay-Z Speaks Out About Barneys Racial Profiling Debacle, Asks Why He's Being "Demonized" & Says He's NOT Making Millions Off Collaboration Posted: 26 Oct 2013 07:38 PM PDT   Plenty of people have been itching to hear from Jay Z ever since the Barneys racial profiling debacle occured, and now he's speaking out.     Check out what Hov had to say about why he waited so long to speak out, and why the only people hurt by him ending his collaboration with the deartment store are the kids of his Foundation who will benefit.... Jay and his collaboration with Barneys has been under fire since 19-year-old student Trayon Christian sued both the department store and NYPD last week, claiming he was racially profiled after rightfully purchasing a Ferragamo belt.  Multiple stories of racial profiling at Barneys surfaced after Trayon's suit made national news...and people soon started calling on Jay Z to end his Holiday collaboration with the lxury department store. So Mr. Carter spoke out today, not to state he was ending his partnership, but to explain why he didn't speak out sooner.  On his Life+Times site, Jay explained his thoughts about the entire situation, and paid special attention to the explanation of why he's NOT making millions of this project like reports are stating: This collaboration lives in a place of giving and is about the Foundation. I am not making a dime from this collection; I do not stand to make millions, as falsely reported. I need to make that fact crystal clear. The Shawn Carter Foundation is the beneficiary and the foundation is receiving 25% of all sales from the collaboration, 10% of all sales generated in the store on November 20th and an additional donation from Barneys. This money is going to help individuals facing socio-economic hardships to help further their education at institutions of higher learning. My idea was born out of creativity and charity… not profit.   He continued: I move and speak based on facts and not emotion. I haven’t made any comments because I am waiting on facts and the outcome of a meeting between community leaders and Barneys. Why am I being demonized, denounced and thrown on the cover of a newspaper for not speaking immediately? The negligent, erroneous reports and attacks on my character, intentions, and the spirit of this collaboration have forced me into a statement I didn’t want to make without the full facts. Making a decision prematurely to pull out of this project, wouldn’t hurt Barneys or Shawn Carter, but all the people that stand a chance at higher education. I have been working with my team ever since the situation was brought to my attention to get to the bottom of these incidents and at the same time find a solution that doesn’t harm all those that stand to benefit from this collaboration. I am against discrimination of any kind, but if I make snap judgements, no matter who it’s towards, aren’t I committing the same sin as someone who profiles? I am no stranger to being profiled and I truly empathize with anyone that has been put in that position. Emily B. & Fabolous, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, Ne-Yo & More Hit Adrienne Bailon's 30th Birthday Party Posted: 26 Oct 2013 11:19 AM PDT Actress/Singer Adrienne Bailon had a huge 30th birthday bash last night at XXI in New York City.  And her besties Julissa Bermudez, Emily B. and her man Fabolous, Adrienne's rumored boyfriend Lenny S. and more came out to celebrate.   Peep the pics inside...   Emily B. put her boobs on display as usual as she and her baby's daddy Fab posed it up on the red carpet at Adrienne's big birthday bash last night.   The couple chopped it up with the birthday girl, who wore THIS revealing & glam white gown: You feelin' it? She posed it up with Lenny S., her rumored long time boyfriend she likes to keep very quiet about. Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams made an appearance in all black.   And so did Julissa Bermudez and Estelle. Kinda loving the lips purse. Jennifer Williams was there in all black--apparently the color of the night.    And Adrienne, who's currently starring in the flick I'm In Love With A Church Girl, got hugs from her Compound boss Ne-Yo.  Peep that cake in the background too! COUPLEDOM: Keri Hilson & Serge Ibaka BOO'D UP At Red Shoe Gala + Keyshia Cole Speaks On Marriage Rumors & More Posted: 26 Oct 2013 09:56 AM PDT Keri Hilson and her sexy man Serge Ibaka are still going strong.  And they recently posted a few pics to prove it.  Check out the cute couple at the Red Shoe Gala inside, plus Keyshia Cole talking about those rumors of her her rocky marriage.... Singer Keri Hilson and her OKC baller Serge Ibaka spent Friday night getting FAB for a great cause--the 2013 Red Shoe Gala which benefits the Ronald McDonald Charities of Oklahoma City. The twosome showed of their funny faces in the car with Keri calling it, "So f*cking classy."  Of course. Gorgeous look for her.   Serge has been busy with the NBA pre-season and they take on the JAZZ next Wednesday.  And Keri's been traveling around the world with her boo, keeping those braids looking perfect, and just doing her.  Not mad.   In other couple's news... Keyshia Cole chatted up TrueExclusives backstage at her recent concert. When asked about her rocky marriage rumors with her and husband Daniel Gibson, Keyshia said they're "good".  She revealed, "We have a kid, We're married, so...."  Alrighty then... Keyshia revealed she's working on a new mixtape and a new album at the same damn time.  And we can indeed expect a duet video with her and her friend Ashanti for "Woman To Woman", a track both of the ladies recently remade. About that Michelle Williams beef--Keyshia said they spoke about it and Michelle explained her side about "that tweet" that she never wrote.  And now it's over with and they've moved on. And if she would ever do reality TV again, Keyshia said it would have to be done correctly and she would have to get PAID this time around.  Oh...
