HBO Renews Enlightened…And Cancels A BUNCH Of Shows!

Posted: 20 Dec 2011 12:40 PM PST

Wowsa! HBO's Laura Dern-starring show has come a loooong way since that series premiere!

Today, HBO announced plans to renew their critically popular show Enlightened for a second season...but they've decided to cancel Hung, Bored to Death, and How to Make It In America.

No HUGE surprise that these shows would get the axe! The network needs to make room for some of their new series, including Luck, Veep, Girls, Life's Too Short, and Angry Boys.

Should be interesting to see which of these new shows survive their first seasons! Judd Apatow's Girls looks pretty good to us, but he's got a bad track record with TV projects. Both Freaks and Geeks & Undeclared were cancelled after only ONE season!

What do U think? Are U pleased with HBO's renewal/cancellation plans???

America's Got Talent Will Feature a FOURTH Judge Next Season!

Posted: 20 Dec 2011 11:20 AM PST

Looks like Howard Stern isn't the only one joining the upcoming season of America's Got Talent!

During a recent interview, Simon Cowell opened up about adding a fourth judge to AGT next season.

Here's what he had to say about it:

"I always like four person panels because it leaves less room for error. It also means you can have different skill sets on there. I am adamant that we need one."

And here's more from Simon on what he's looking for in the new judge:

"...Somebody younger. A girl. Someone who will not be afraid of Sharon and Howard and fight for a different type of act than they would."

We'll look forward to hearing more about this soon...and if they decide NOT to go with a girl, they can always give the Perezzers a call! We'd LOVE to get involved!!!!

Who do U think would be a good fourth judge for AGT?

So Maybe X Factor Is Keeping Steve Jones??

Posted: 20 Dec 2011 11:10 AM PST

So the hot tv gossip this week has been all about X Factor wanting to fire their host -- Steve Jones.

Not only are people whispering about that, but they're saying the show thinks Nicole Scherzinger could be his replacement since being a judge has kicked her a$$!

But NOW, according to Steve's reps and the show's, there have absolutely been no talks of the sort whatsoever.

To reiterate, statements read:

There have been absolutely no conversations about Steve Jones leaving The X Factor.

No discussions have been had and no decisions will be made about any contracts until the New Year.

Steve is very happy with the outcome of this season. And he looks forward to being back and discovering more talent in the New Year.

Mmmhmm, no "talks." .... .... ....

What do U think's gonna happen??

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol Brings In $14 Million Worlwide From Early Imax Release!

Posted: 20 Dec 2011 10:40 AM PST

Not a bad start AT ALL!

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol opened early in Imax theaters, and it definitely seems like that strategic move paid off!

The new MI flick has brought in $10.5 million domestically so far, and it's grossed a total of $14 million worldwide during it's Imax-only opening weekend! Wow!

Here's what Imax CEO Richard Gelfond had to say about it in a statement:

"Paramount leveraged an early release in Imax as a key component of its marketing strategy for this film and based on this promising start we are enthusiastic that this approach will deliver."

We also support Paramount's strategy! Hopefully Warner Bros will take a cue from them and release The Dark Knight Rises early! In fact, if they want to release it two weeks from now, we SHOULD be able to make it to a showing...or two! Ha!

What do U think? Has Mission: Impossible started a trend of movies getting early Imax-only releases???

Check out the video (above) and enjoy the show she puts on!
