Dutch Magazine Editor RESIGNS After Global Backlash For "N*GGAB*TCH" Term!

Posted: 20 Dec 2011 10:08 AM PST

The chief editor of the now infamous Jackie magazine, which made headlines yesterday after an article titled "N*GGAB*TCH" ran in its most recent issue, has resigned.

We've got the Dutch editor's statement and details inside....

Eva Hoeke (pictured above), EIC of Dutch magazine Jackie for the past 8 years, came under enormous fire yesterday when she half-heartedly apologized for her "N*GGAB*TCH" article which reference Rihanna and generalized black women.  While she said it was written in a joking way, the black community in the Netherlands, and many all over the world, were still outraged.

Rihanna responded in the most ladylike way possible to Eva's article which talked about Rih's "ghetto ass" and porn heels.  And called her the "ultimate n*gger b*tch"...as if it were a compliment.

A Dutch news site reports today that Hoeke has walked away from her position as a result of the "commotion" caused by the article.  And Eva says she was maybe too quick to offer up her reasoning for publishing the term.

Her statement loosely translated into English:

"Because of the enormous pressure from social media, I can promise improvement in terms of language used in future issues of Jackie. Previously, I offered rectification. As I now come to the conclusion that rectification is not the right solution, I am departing.

"The term 'nigga bitch" has come over from America and we have only this to describe this particular style of clothes that we can try to interpret.

"After eight years, with my heart and soul, I have worked for Jackie. I realize that these errors - although no malicious intent - is a reason to leave."

Each one teach one.

Robin Thicke Tells Chelsea Handler His MOST IMPORTANT Parts Are "BLACK"

Posted: 20 Dec 2011 06:45 AM PST

"Love After War" singer Robin Thicke was spotted in NYC last night with his wife Paula Patton for the "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" US premiere.  See their red carpet pics and Robin's appearance on "Chelsea Lately" inside.....

Last night, Paula Patton and her husband Robin Thicke attended the "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol" US premiere held at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City.

The couple got extra kissy on the red carpet.  Since Paula has been all over the world promoting this movie sans hubby and baby Julian, I'm sure the two made real good use of their time together.

And before he jetted out to NYC:

Robin Thicke stopped by "Chelsea Lately" in L.A. to promote Love After War where he revealed that though he's a white guy...and his "...most important parts are Black!"

*Snaps*

He also talked about his and Paula Patton's sex life, of course, which seems to be as active as possible.  The song "All Tied Up" was written after he and Paula hadn't had sex for a week.  Robin said he was losing his mojo so he wrote the song to get her in the mood.  And it worked!

One thing's for sure, Robin has a GREAT personality and seems like so much fun.

Vanessa Bryant's Ex-Step Dad SAYS She's A GOLDDIGGER..."Just Like Her Mother"

Posted: 20 Dec 2011 06:37 AM PST

Stephen Laine, the ex-husband of Vanessa Bryant's mom, is speaking out and calling Vanessa a golddigger....just like her mother. Get the deets inside....

According to TMZ's convo with Vanessa Bryant's ex-step dad Stephen Laine, Kobe Bryant's soon-to-be-ex-wife learned from the best when it comes to sticking it to an ex-husband in the financial department.

Stephen, who was married Sofia Urbieta Laine from 1990 to 2003, said:

"Her mother taught her well to wait for the ten-year mark [before divorcing].  In California ... it's considered a long term marriage and then she gets paid for life or until she remarries ... just like her mother is doing to me."

So how did Mama Laine stick it to him?

"I have to pay her mom $1,800 every month and clearly they don’t need it.  I have a six-year-old daughter and that money could be used toward her college fund or something ... you'd think she'd care .. but no, she's spiteful."

Apparently, Sofia lives in one of Kobe and Vanessa's mansions and is well taken care of.  And since we told you there was no pre-nup and they've been married over ten years.....Vanessa is about to start stacking....

OH SNAP: Rihanna Claps Back At Racist Dutch Magazine Editor For "N*GGAB*TCH" Comment

Posted: 19 Dec 2011 09:46 PM PST

Y'all knew it was only a matter of time before Rihanna responded to the pure f*ckery that is the recent Dutch magazine article calling her and generally all black women a "N*GGAB*TCH."  And she didn't disappoint.

Check out the "We Found Love" singer's words to the unwise inside....

When Dutch magazine editor, Eva Hoeke, allowed for her Jackie magazine to print an article with one of the most disrespectful titles possible in reference black women, she must have known she would catch global backlash.  And she did.

So since she used singer Rihanna as her basis for the disrespectful terminology, which she apologized for later and ignorantly said it was meant as a "joke," Rihanna took it upon herself to respond.  She tweeted:

@evajackie I hope u can read english, because your magazine is a poor representation of the evolution of human rights! I find you disrespectful, and rather desperate!! You ran out of legit, civilized information to print! There are 1000's of Dutch girls who would love to be recognized for their contributions to your country, you could have given them an article. Instead, u paid to print one degrading an entire race! That's your contribution to this world! To encourage segregation, to mislead the future leaders to act in the past! You put two words together,
with the intent of abasement, that made no sense..."***** BITCH"?!....

Well with all respect, on behalf of my race, here are my two words for you...FUCK YOU!!!

Quick....somebody come tap me on my shoulder before I become a full fledged Rih Rih fan and crown this chick Twitter Queen of 2011.

VIDEOS: J-Hud, Mary J, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, & More PERFORM For VH1 Divas!

Posted: 19 Dec 2011 09:10 PM PST

VH1 Divas Celebrate Soul debuted Monday night.  And we've got videos of our fave performances of the night inside....

The show was a dedication to the cities who birthed soul music like Chicago, Philly, London, Memphis, and Detroit.  So singers joined forces with unlikely partners to duet and collabo for some good music.

During the intro, which kicked off with a collabo for Diana Ross' "You Keep me Hangin' On," Jennifer Hudson performed "Spotlight," Mary J. Blige rocked "Real Love" and Kelly Clarkson performed "Since U Been Gone" as they all backed each other up.

And Mary rocked out with Chaka Khan for "Aint Nobody":

Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, and Black Thought performed one of my fave songs "You Got Me."  But in a totally different fashion.

And Erykah and Chaka Khan teamed up with the legendary Mavis Staples for "I'll Take You There":

Did Erykah really bust out screaming in the middle of this song? Yes indeedy....

Nas introduced the Amy Winehouse tribute done by Florence Welch, Sharon Jones & Wanda Jackson w/ The Dap-Kings:

Ledisi and Kelly Clarkson performed Aretha's classic "Chain of Fools":

Former 6th ATL Housewife Dwight Eubanks ARRESTED!

Posted: 19 Dec 2011 07:50 PM PST

Aw damn Dwight!  The former "6th Housewife of Atlanta" got caught up by 5-0.  Check out why Dwight was caught ridin' dirty inside...

The AJC reports that Dwight Eubanks was arrested last week after being stopped in Atlanta with a faulty car headlight.  Typically a headlight outage wouldn't get you arrested--just a ticket.  But since he was also driving on a suspended license--he was arrested on spot and charged with driving on a suspended license.

Officers were patrolling the area of Freedom Parkway and Boulevard on Dec. 14 when they saw a Chevy Tahoe with the driver's side headlight out, Atlanta police spokesman Officer John Chafee told the AJC on Monday. They stopped the vehicle and spoke to Eubanks, who told them he did not have his license with him, the spokesman said.

When authorities checked, they found out his license had been suspended, Chafee said. He was arrested and charged.

Oh Dwight.  Oh how your big purple star has fallen....

Pics inside of Kiyan sharpening his skills early with the big boys...

Right before the NY Knicks took the court at Madison Square Garden yesterday for their annual scrimmage, Melo's son Kiyan hit the court too.  He was spotted helping his dad practice...and working on his dribble skills:

Cuteness!  I'm sure it was all being filmed for Carmelo and LaLa's new season of "LaLa's Full Court Life" hitting VH1 in March.

The Knicks, who just officially signed Baron Davis today as well, kick off their first home game of the season this Wednesday against the Nets.

Sheree's "Who Gon Check Me Boo?" Single, Talks About Her Children Sleeping On Air Mattresses & Why She Needs Child Support

Posted: 19 Dec 2011 01:25 PM PST

And another Housewife has turned her talking over a computerized track into a "song."  "RHOA" star Sheree' Whitfield debuted her new single last night on Andy Cohen's "Watch What Happens Live."  And it's titled--of course--"Who Gon Check Me Boo?"

Sheree's new song and her answering questions about why her kids are sleeping on air mattresses and that's why she needs child support when you read on....

Check out the single Sheree is selling for 99 cents over at iTunes.  Meanwhile, while she was on Andy's aftershow last night, a caller asked if her kids are lacking the necessities like a proper bed, all because her ex husband Bob won't pay his child support.  Sheree claimed the mattress belonged to her dog and he kicked it around to different rooms.

Interesting that she didn't mention she "bought" a new Porsche and every designer bag and shoe in the stores and is "building" Chateau Sheree from the ground up.  A viewer asked why she buys these things but is requesting child support. Her response:

"This is the ignorant thing that I hate to hear people say," she said to redirect the conversation. "Why are you fighting for child support? First of all, I did not make these kids by myself. We did this together. So I shouldn't have to fight you to be responsible for your kids."

Check the videos:

She also claimed last night she hasn't had a job in years. While no one would say a mother shouldn't demand child support for her children BOTH her and the man made....I'm also pretty sure that in the meantime while she awaits said payment, a mother wouldn't let her children go without while she is living it up. Especially if the mother has the means--at least she acts like she does--to put her kids' immediate needs first. And not her need for a Birkin. Just an observation. Sigh....

WOW! Popular Dutch Magazine Calls Black Girls Like Rihanna A "N*IGGAB*TCH"!

Posted: 19 Dec 2011 11:49 AM PST

Sure, different countries have different meanings for the same words.  But this one's pretty universal.  A popular Dutch magazine has blatantly referred to black women such as Rihanna as a "N*GGAB*TCH."  And the black community in the netherlands--mainly the younger generation--is on an uproar.

Oh, and it's not the first time.  Deets inside...

Eva Hoeke, editor of Jackie Magazine which boasts thousands of readers in its circulation and has been around for at least 3 years, decided to use the term "N*ggab*tch" as an article title in the most recent issue in relation to Rihanna and other black women.  And had the audacity to use it as though it was a term of endearment.

Eva replied to the hellraising of the black community in the Netherlands on Twitter saying that it wasn't her intention to hurt anyone and that people are being too sensitive.

We asked our Dutch reader who sent the article over to translate what it says exactly in the image above.  And here's what we got:

They’ve got street cred, they’ve got a ghetto ass, and they can sing well. Rihanna, the good girl gone bad, is the ultimate niggabitch and loves to carry herself as such which in her case means; dressing half-naked. Unfortunately, Dutch winters are nothing like Jamaican winters (who said Rihanna is from Jamaica?) so choose a style that will allow you to withstand the harsh weather conditions. No oversized sunglasses and porn heels but leopard print, pink ‘’shizzle’’ and everything else that shines.

To be fair, we also asked the reader if this was a term normally used and if it possibly means something else to them (and it would still be wrong nonetheless).  Her response:

The term means exactly what it means in English. The problem with Dutch people is that often they know exactly what they are saying but as soon as someone confronts them about it we are being to sensitive and wasnt meant to be offensive. This comes from the same people who celebrate Sinterklaas annually in December. A party that includes characters in blackface called Zwarte Piet. The editor in chief @evajackie responded this morning saying it was a joke and that people are being too sensitive but that she apologizes nevertheless. Later she tweeted that in next month's issue she will issue an official apology. This is not a ''fashionsta'' term, we say bitch here as well and it means exactly the same as in English, as well as ''nigga.'' No different meaning whatsoever.

I am happy that the younger Dutch generation is finally speaking up against the blatant racism in this country. White people here really think they can do and say anything and have this attitude of ''if you don't like it, go back to your own country.''

This is the type of racism we as black people in the Netherlands have to deal with on a constant basis because the Whites in this country feel that you should leave their country if you don't like what they say or do. I hope you can post this on your blog just to let this woman know that it isn't us that are being sensitive but that she crossed the line.

Kroes posted the following apology on her Facebook page today saying this was meant as a joke (REALLY?!):

Dear readers,

First: thanks for all your responses. We are of course very fed up over this and especially very
shocked. However I’m glad that we’re engaging in a dialogue on this page — not everybody does
that. Thanks for this. Other than that I can be brief about this: this should have never happened.
Period. While the author meant no harm — the title of the article was intended as a joke — it was a bad joke, to say the least. And that slipped through my, the editor-in-chief’s, fingers. Stupid, painful and sucks for all concerned. The author has been addressed on it, and now I can only ensure that these terms will no longer end up in the magazine. Furthermore I hope that you all believe there was absolutely no racist motive behind the choice of words. It was stupid, it was naive to think that this was an acceptable form of slang — you hear it all the time on tv and radio, then your idea of what is normal apparently shifts — but it was especially misguided: there was no malice behind it. We make our magazine with love, energy and enthusiasm, and it can sometimes happen that someone is out of line. And then you can only do one thing: apologize. And hope that others wish to accept it.

From the bottom of my heart I say it again: we never intended to offend anyone. And I mean that.

Regards,

Eva Hoeke

Thoughts?

BONUS: Rihanna actually had her own in-person racist encounter this weekend with a hotel guest in Portugal.  She tweeted:

'I just met the most racist c**t EVER!!! This man said the craziest s**t about black women - called us dogs, sl**s, we don't look like s**t, we don't belong in the same hotels.

'Needless to say, the #N**** in me came out! Bajan accent and all! Lol! Turns out the hotel manager's black.

'Oh and he had the NERVE to diss black people in his tighty whitey's!!!! SMH...and tbh a lil' black wouldn't hurt him.'

Goodness!

MORE DETAILS On The "Tamar & Vince" Spin-Off Show, Premieres Late 2012

Posted: 19 Dec 2011 11:18 AM PST

More deets about Tamar Braxton and her hubby Vince's new spin-off show are out.  WeTV just made the official announcement today.  Check it inside...

The loudest dot comer on earth just got her wish--she's the center of attention of her very own show.  It's tentatively called "Tamar & Vince" and will tentatively kick off fall 2012...after "Braxton Family Values" ends its season.  Production begins this coming March and We has ordered eight, one-hour episodes.

This new show will follow Tamar in her ongoing pursuit of pop super stardom, with Vince helping and supporting her every step of the way.  Vince is always there to be the voice of reason, of course, and brings Tamar back down to earth.

Viewers will get an inside look at their complicated yet devoted relationship, including how their upscale lifestyle must adjust as Vince recovers from a recent life-threatening health scare.

Kim Martin, President & GM of We, says this is a great move for the underserved African American female audience:

“Tamar & Vince is a great addition to WE tv’s schedule, especially as we expand into a third night of original programming catering to the under-served audience of African-American women that love Braxton Family Values.  Tamar is a huge part of what’s made that show such a success; she is completely over the top and our viewers just love her!”

And Tamar, of course, is head over heels:

“We are so very excited for this amazing opportunity.  With our family series, Braxton Family Values, we aim to show audiences the true meaning of family and sisterhood, and with our new show, marriage. Our journey as two driven individuals that love as hard as we work is one we think audiences will relate to.”

"Tamar & Vince" is being produced for WE tv by Magical Elves. We'll be watching...

Here's the sneak peek for the upcoming episode of "Braxton Family Values":

Emily B. Claims Fabolous Is NOT Tapping Adrienne Bailon

Posted: 19 Dec 2011 10:38 AM PST

So "Love & Hip Hop" star Emily Bustamante has finally addressed the elephant in the room that is the popular thought--for good reason--that her on-again off-again man Fabolous is cheating with Adrienne Bailon

Em and Adrienne are friends and have been for a long time.  So Emily claims there just can't be any truth to the rumors.  *eyebrows raised* Check out what she has to say inside...

On the heels of Emily finding out her sometime man and baby's daddy, rapper Fabolous, was cheating with castmate Kimbella while Em was pregnant with their son, she's attempting to debunk rumors he's also cheating with Cheetah Girl Adrienne Bailon.

Adrienne and Fab tend to pop up at all the same event together--sometimes with Emily but usually without--and also seem to be at least a little bit closer than "that's my homeboy/homegirl."  Call it woman's intuition or whatever you want.  But it's something that more than a couple people have noticed.

So in Emily's new interview with Loop 21, she claims there's no truth to there being a relationship.  Why?  Because Adrienne has been friends with both Em and Fab for a long time.  Since that's always stopped folks from cheating before.  And Fab is close to Adrienne's alleged boyfriend we've heard nothing about until this year.  Word around the internets this "man" of hers is Lenny S., Fab's manager.  How convenient.

Loop 21: On the blogs, we see you with Adrienne Bailon, who was rumored to be messing with Fabolous, your ex. What’s going on there?

Emily B.: I just left from being with her. We’ve been friends for years. We’re all friends. I think that when you see Fab and you see Adrienne, they’re both celebrities so you automatically assume that they’re together, but he’s actually friends with her boyfriend. And I won’t reveal her business. We were always together and that’s how that misconception started, but she is not dating Fab. I actually feel bad for her at this point because she can’t get rid of it, but we laugh at it. She comes to my house on Christmas...

Loop 21: So there’s nothing there?

Emily B.: No! (Laughs)

Loop 21: A lot of women identify with your story. What advice would you give to women who are dealing with trying to break away from an ex?

Emily B.: If you don’t stand for something, you will fall for anything. You have to be strong. You have to love you first. When you go into your relationship know what you want and demand those things from the beginning. Set boundaries and if you do it from the beginning you’ll know if it’s going to work or not. But if you don’t, you’ll end up five, six years down the line like, ‘Well, wait a minute!’ That’s my problem. I always wanted to be cool, ride-or-die. I’m down for him. I wanted to be that chick, but somewhere along the line, I lost who I was and it was all about him. I realized that hmm, maybe this is not right. I had to set some boundaries.

By the way, despite all the independent woman stuff she's going on about in this new season of LAHH, she's already confirmed months ago she's back with Fab.

Believe what you want boo....

Check out Emily giving us closet envy as PYNK magazine's newest cover girl HERE.

THE PICTURE: Sanaa Lathan Dancing It Up With Kobe Bryant Post-Divorce, Denies ANYTHING Is Going Down

Posted: 19 Dec 2011 10:00 AM PST

And the pictures in question surface.  The rumor mill turned yesterday with news of Sanaa Lathan dancing "all over" a newly divorced Kobe Bryant at last week's Watch The Throne tour stop at the Staples Center.  She denies it.  He denies it.  Now check out the actual pics in question...

The NY Post reported that Sanaa, who went to the concert with a girlfriend, ended up flirting all night with the almost single Laker star, right before his divorce was announced:

“She touched his face, and she was shaking her a-- in front of him to the music.  Eventually, Lathan and Bryant ended up standing next to each other, and that’s when our source said the actress, who was drinking champagne, became progressively more flirtatious with the NBA star, who stuck to soft drinks, presumably because he’s in training. Lathan, attired in a sexy white-chiffon dress over what appeared to be a black bra, was “whispering in his ear” and at one point stroked the ballplayer’s face. “It seemed like a pretty intimate gesture."

At one point she left her seat and when she came back, she made sure she was standing next to Kobe again,” says the source She also danced to Jay-Z and West’s performance in front of Bryant.

“She was throwing her head everywhere. Her hair was like slapping him in the face,” laughs the source, who adds that at one point, one of the straps of Lathan’s dressed slipped enticingly off her shoulder. When West performed “All of the Lights,” Bryant and Lathan danced together.

For many reasons we doubted the story.  And the new pics showing the two indeed at the concert still don't scream "come and get it Kobe" from Sanaa's end.

Matt Barnes, the Kardashian clan, and plenty others were also in the VIP section that night.  Kobe's people said there was no face touching or flirting.  And "The Cleveland Show" actress denied all claims as well tweeting:

Can a girl have some fun at a jayz/kanye concert w/out being linked 2 a breakup? I AM NOT, NEVER HAVE BEEN, INVOVLED W/KOBE IN ANY WAY.

Anybody who pays attention knows I'm not his type... Blank stare. #blackgirlsrock #dontbelievethelies

Well Sanaa...Kobe doesn't seem like your type either boo.  And yes, we pay attention.

Still, we're calling foul on the rumor.  Nothing to see here....nothing to see.
