Cute Old People Change All Your Feelings About Flash Mobs

Posted: 17 Dec 2011 09:06 AM PST

There’s so much to love about this video documenting a senior-citizen flash mob in a Target. The use of a prop. The mix of genuine Grandma Christmas sweaters and every day velor sweatsuits the ladies are rocking. The dramatic tension that most flash mobs lack: will that woman forget about her oxygen tank and rip out the line she keeps dangerously extending? My favorite part is the fact they used the Glee cover of Last Christmas instead of the original. I can just see their song selection meeting. If we’re going to be hip, we’re going to do it right. And Glee is what all the young people these days are listening to. I hope senior citizen flash mobs will become the next great meme.

The Crying Girl From The Blair Witch Project Wrote A Memoir About Growing Pot

Posted: 16 Dec 2011 02:54 PM PST

Ever wondered what happened to the girl from The Blair Witch Project who shoves her face up close to the screen and cries about how she’s so scared? Nah, us either. But the answer is still pretty unbelievable: It turns out that the former actress, Heather Donahue, spent the year of 2007 growing pot in Los Angeles.

Her new memoir GrowGirl: How My Life After The Blair Witch Project Went to Pot details her successful medical marijuana business and her fears of getting busted. Heather was profiled on Philly.com since she’s a local gal, and she gave some hilarious quotes.

  • Heather admitted to her own medical marijuana use, for PMS. When the interviewer asked if that meant she smoked it only once a month, she responded, “It’s a very flexible medicine.”
  • She seemed really bitter about not appearing in any high-profile things except for the Steven Spielberg miniseries Taken: “I took all my stuff into the desert related to my acting career and burned it all.” But not her blue ski cap from Blair Witch! “That’s the only thing I kept. I figured if things got really bad, I could always sell it on eBay.”
  • She immediately took to cultivating pot because she “was an avid gardener.”

And for the record? Her stuff was high-grade.

Dope! Clueless Co-Stars Alicia Silverstone and Jeremy Sisto Reunite In Suburgatory

Posted: 16 Dec 2011 02:49 PM PST

Cher and Elton are all grown up, so obviously they’ve left Beverly Hills for the New York suburbs. Um, as if!

Ok, so that’s, like, totally not a new plotline in Suburgatory. But there is going to be an upcoming reunion between Suburgatory‘s main character (played by Jeremy Sisto) and his former Clueless co-star Alicia Silverstone. Hello? She’s a total Betty and landed a recurring role in the ABC comedy.

While she played a failed matchmaker in Clueless, this time around, Alicia is “playing a potential love interest” for Jeremy's Baldwin of a single dad, George.

Snaps to this on-screen duo getting back together 17 years (gulp) after they first starred together in the 1995 hit. In fact, the meeting of these former teen icons is nothing short of “way awesome.”

Let’s just hope any potential romantic encounters between these two don’t end in a game of “Suck and Blow” or Alicia’s character Eden being held at gunpoint in a parking lot. Because we’re already running out of Clueless lines to throw out at this scenario.

(In fact, the more dedicated of you might have already started on Thanksgiving night.) But have you ever wondered if it’s the type of person that determines the movie, or the movie that determines the type of person? Wonder no longer, as we’ve rounded up fifteen holiday classics and provided our snap judgments about the people who enjoy them.

Action, comedy, horror, romance—they’re all here, with summaries for our readers who haven’t seen specific movies as well as a guide to what each says about you if it’s indeed your favorite.

Important News: There Will Be A Party Down Movie

Posted: 16 Dec 2011 02:06 PM PST

Party Down is on Netflix Instant, so if you haven’t watched this brilliant series, you have not excuse for wasting any more of your own time. Then once you’ve seen the whole series, you can watch the movie, which is totally getting made!

According to Grantland, the catering service-themed flick is going to be a reality soon. From the mouth of Adam Scott: "We have a treatment, and if everyone's schedules work out, we'll shoot it over the summer."

Hooray! Apparently there’s a production company attached and everything, and all that’s left is the go-ahead-not from Starz, the network responsible for the show. I will never understand why Lizzy Caplan isn’t the biggest star of our generation — maybe this is her chance! And Martin Starr deserves fame and fortune too.
