Megan Fox gave up veganism, gained weight: doesn’t she look better?

Posted: 23 Aug 2011 08:56 AM PDT

65679pcn_fox14

Yesterday, we previewed Megan Fox's appearance on the September cover of Amica Magazine, an Italian publication. In that post, I noted that in recent photos of Megan, she looks like she's put on some weight. Nothing drastic or anything, she just doesn't look so slim and bony, like she did before. If anything, I think Megan looks wonderful with an extra ten to fifteen pounds - it fills out her face a bit, and makes the tweaking look softer. These are new photos of Megan from the set of This Is Forty yesterday - you can see her weight gain even more in these pics, I think.

Previously, Megan's trainer has claimed that Megan has never had an eating disorder, and that she just has crazy metabolism and she struggles to put on weight. Of course, Megan has a history of saying quite the opposite - in past interviews, she's claimed that when she needs to put on weight, she just binges on sweets, and when asked if she had an eating disorder, she gave a non-committal non-confirmation.

Of course, in the Amica interview, Megan once again claimed something different - she said, "For a year and a half, until about four months ago, I followed a strict vegan diet based on raw fruits and vegetables, no bread, sugar and coffee. But I had lost too much weight. So now I eat a bit of everything. I train three times a week doing circuit training with my trainer Harvey Pasternak." She also disrespects Marilyn Monroe and says that MM was bipolar and a "negative energy" that Megan didn't want in her life, and that's why Megan was getting rid of that gaudy MM tattoo.

Anyway, I still say the extra weight looks good on Megan. Her body reminds me of Kristen Stewart's - you can tell that both of them are going to have weight struggles in their 30s, when their "skinny" metabolism goes to hell.

Amy Winehouse wasn’t on drugs at the time of her death, but she was drinking

Posted: 23 Aug 2011 08:19 AM PDT

fp_7640510_big_winehousearchives_10_71

Just hours after Amy Winehouse's death was made public, the British tabloids managed to get their hands on various crack dealers in and around Winehouse's neighborhood, some of whom had sold Amy drugs in the past. They were looking to see when Amy had last bought, and they found one dealer who claimed that Amy had bought crack and heroin on her last night on earth. Most of us were like, "Yeah, that makes sense." Amy's family claimed that she wasn't on drugs anymore, that her only problem was alcohol. Well, it's looking like Amy's family was right - the toxicology report has come out, and Amy didn't have any drugs in her system when she died.

After her tragic death in July there was considerable speculation regarding the cause of Amy’s death. But today it has been announced that the toxicology results have been returned to the Winehouse family by authorities and confirm that there were no illegal substances in Amy’s system at the time of her death.

In statement released today a spokesperson for the family said: ‘Results indicate that alcohol was present but it cannot be determined as yet if it played a role in her death. The family would like to thank the police and coroner for their continuing thorough investigations and for keeping them informed throughout the process. They await the outcome of the inquest in October.’

Shortly after Amy’s death a London drug fixer claimed he helped Amy buy £1,200 of crack cocaine and heroin the night before she died. Tony Azzopardi alleged he helped the late singer buy the Class A narcotics in the early hours of July 23rd - the same day she was found dead in her London home. The 56-year-old, who was introduced to the tragic star by her ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil, claimed he wanted her family to ‘know the truth about what happened’.

At Amy’s funeral shortly after her death her father Mitch Winehouse told mourners that his daughter had managed to kick her drink and drugs habits.

He told friends and family: ‘Three years ago, Amy conquered her drug dependency, the doctors said it was impossible but she really did it. She was trying hard to deal with her drinking and had just completed three weeks of abstinence. She said, “Dad, I’ve had enough of drinking. I can’t stand the look on your and the family’s faces any more”‘.

It was also at Amy’s funeral that Mitch outlined that he would like to do something in the singer’s name to help people who suffered with the same problems that Amy did.

Mitch said: 'I was with my cousin Michael when I heard and straight away I said I wanted an Amy Winehouse Foundation, something to help the things she loved - children, horses, but also to help those struggling with substance abuse. In this country, if you cannot afford a private rehabilitation clinic, there is a two-year waiting list for help. With the help of Keith Vaz MP, we are trying to change that.'

But Mitch’s plans for a foundation have been scuppered by an opportunist who has already registered the name of the charity in the hope of cashing in. Uxbridge resident Martin McCann bought the web address Amywinehousefoundation.com and paid £160 to register the Amy Winehouse Foundation Ltd with Companies House on August 2. But he insists he is 'not exploiting anything' and advised critics to 'detach yourself from emotions and think business'.

As a result, Mitch has now been forced to return donations to fans because he was unable to set up a bank account in that name. Plans have now been put on hold while solicitors try to rectify the situation.

On Saturday, Mitch revealed his anger and said: 'We all have to bombard the tabloids websites to put pressure on this d******* who stole our foundation name. Instead of concentrating on allocating funding I am having to send cheques back cos we don’t haven’t got bank ac in that name. Mitch' (sic)

[From The Mail]

I don't know - I'm sure this will be fodder for some conspiracy theories, but I don't have a problem with believing that Amy was only consuming alcohol on the night of her death. I tend to think her body simply gave up after years and years of alcohol and drug abuse, and Amy's on-again/off-again teetotaling probably didn't help either.

Poor Amy.

Alex Skarsgard plays hide and seek, looks adorable and sexy

Posted: 23 Aug 2011 07:50 AM PDT

fp_7771033_skarsgardalexand
When Alex Skarsgard is out and about, he’s usually dressed in clingy black and grey t-shirts and working the hell out of a pair of jeans. He has a casual uniform, and it really works for him, so it’s cute to see him dressed in character in this dorky loose red pocked T with some skinny jeans and Chucks. Alex is in New York city filming What Maisie Knew, where he plays the stepfather to a little girl caught in a custody battle between her parents, played by Julianne Moore and Steve Coogan. We’ve already seen some photos of him looking very engaged with his child co-stars in the film, and here he is playing what looks like a game of hide and seek. I would assume that they’re just filming his part and will add in scenes from his little co-star later. Either that or his character is interacting with someone who is watching from a window nearby. He’s just adorable and I love his facial expresssions.

fp_7771032_skarsgardalexand

Spoilers for past True Bloods
As we’ve seen on True Blood, Alex is a talented actor. I like him when he’s being compelled by the witches and I think he’s convincing as both conniving ruthless Eric and hapless “hold me” Eric. Many of you disagree and want powerful Eric back. True Blood is getting very good in my opinion. I’m not even as annoyed by all the side plotlines as I used to be. I actually loved the way they wrapped up that issue with Arlene’s baby (mostly because the guy who plays Lafayette, Nelsan Ellis, is also an incredible actor) and find the werewolf stuff promising. I absolutely love Jessica and Jason together, and only wish that scene with them in the pickup would have last much longer. They’re way hotter together than Sookie and Eric. In terms of what I’m not enjoying, that Sookie threesome dream was pretty stupid. Ball does way too many dream sequences, and I remember finding the dream sequences in Six Feet Under to be asinine as well. There are only three more episodes of True Blood left this season, but we can be assured that there will be more to come since the show been renewed.

In terms of Alex’s other projects, that dumb-looking movie he did with his gratefully now ex-girlfriend, Kate Bosworth, Straw Dogs, is coming out on September 16th. Everyone will be watching to see how Kate and Alex handle the press circuit and red carpet. There’s some controversy over the fact that Alex’s character is being billed as sexy in the promotion for the film. Here’s a link to a story that explains why.

ITW: Jada Pinkett & Will Smith have separated after 13 years of marriage?

Posted: 23 Aug 2011 07:46 AM PDT

wenn3198703

Jesus! Just the other day, I was thinking about how slow it was going to be this week, and how we wouldn't have much gossip until September, when the film festivals and Oscar campaigns begin in earnest. I actually thought to myself, "I wish some big couple would break up. Someone exciting." Well… something might have happened. MIGHT. In Touch Weekly (via The Mail) is reporting that Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith have separated.

Just last month they opened the doors of their luxury Malibu home and happily posed for a revealing and intimate family photo shoot.

But Hollywood power couple Will Smith, 42, and wife Jade Pinkett-Smith’s seemingly picture perfect marriage has now come to a shock end, according to a new report.

The pair, who have been married for 13 years, are said to have decided to call it quits, according to America’s In Touch Weekly magazine.

This will be the second marriage to end for Men In Black star Smith who divorced former fashion design student Sheree Zampino in 1995 after three years together.

The couple had a son, Willard Christopher Smith, also known as Trey, who is now 18.

He later dedicated his 1998 single Just the Two of Us, to Trey. Lyrics included: ‘It didn’t work out with me and your mom/But yo, push come to shove/You was conceived in love.’

After his divorce, Smith found comfort in Jada, whom he had first met in 1990 when she auditioned and was rejected for the role of his girlfriend on his hit TV show, The Fresh Prince.

In 1997, they married in a lavish ceremony at a mansion near her hometown of Baltimore in front 100 friends and family.

[From The Mail]

When TMZ contacted Jada's rep, Karynne Tencer, she said, "What? In Touch said that? I know nothing about this … Lord. I’m going back to bed.” So obviously, this is still in the "In Touch Weekly is reporting it, for what it's worth" stage of gossip developments. Nothing has been confirmed, and if ITW's story is untrue, I tend to think Will and Jada could possibly sue. If it is true, then what a coup for ITW, and I expect Will and Jada will release a statement to People Magazine or Us Weekly shortly.

Jennifer Garner is officially pregnant with her third child

Posted: 23 Aug 2011 07:31 AM PDT

wenn3439902
I’ll be damned. Jennifer Garner really is pregnant! When Kaiser called it over the weekend, I thought it was yet another false pregnancy report due to the unflattering outfits Garner usually wears. I’ve assumed she was pregnant in the past when that wasn’t the case. Garner and Affleck just announced that they’re expecting their third child, though. Maybe they’re trying for a boy this time.

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck are getting ready for another baby!

The couple, who are parents to two daughters – Violet, 5½, and Seraphina, 2½ – are “thrilled” to be expecting their third child, they confirm to the Associated Press.

Garner and Affleck, both 39, have each spoken of being hands-on parents. After Seraphina’s arrival, Garner said juggling acting and motherhood gave her a “split personality.”

“[I] feel like half my brain is somewhere else all the time, but when the camera’s rolling, I pull it together and focus for two minutes,” she said at the time, “and then I kind of turn back to a ditz again.

[From People]

Well congratulations to them. I guess now that we know Garner was pregnant when she said “there’s no deeper want for a woman” than to be a mother it’s not as outrageous of a statement. It’s still a little out there, but taken in context it makes sense.

We’ve heard plenty of rumors and blind items that there were problems in their marriage, and that Garner is all about family while Affleck is ready to bolt. It would make sense given what they’ve both said to the press and given Affleck’s past. This is not a guy who gushes about his wife like his best friend, Matt Damon. He probably dotes on his kids though.

Kelly Osbourne in printed Manish Arora: terrible, unflattering or meh?

Posted: 23 Aug 2011 07:26 AM PDT

wenn3479026

Here are some new photos of Kelly and Sharon Osbourne at last night's Hollywood screening of God Bless Ozzy Osbourne. I wasn't even going to start with this junk, because of most of the time I end up feeling sorry for Kelly Osbourne. She's so proud of her weight loss and she's got a job now - on E!'s Fashion Police - and she's clean and I should applaud her for that. But considering that Kelly is now billed as some kind of Fashion Girl, should we really expect more from her? Look at this dress! It's hideous. It's an edited and updated version of a Manish Arora gown (go here to see the runway look, which was hideous too). This is beyond an issue with shoulder pads - there's padding throughout the top half of the dress! And the print is just awful. And the sleeves! For the love of God, WHY would even want to wear this? It's not cute. It's not "young". It's not flattering. It's terrible.

wenn3479052

Should we even talk about Sharon? She looks like she's melting. Ladies, THIS is too much. Sharon doesn't even look jacked or tweaked - she just looks sick.

wenn3479017

wenn3479003

As for the documentary, it was produced by Jack Osbourne, and it's supposed to be pretty decent. It includes behind-the-scenes stuff about Ozzy's rise and what he's like on tour, and lots of Ozzy's friends and celebrity fans are interviews, like Paul McCartney and Tommy Lee. Go here for more about the documentary.

One last thing - I did like Kelly's shoes. And her hair color.

Celebrity Big Brother contestant shows outrageous implanted fake washboard abs

Posted: 23 Aug 2011 06:57 AM PDT

fakeabsheader
Holy crap. I saw this photo yesterday and just assumed this dude was just wearing one of those superhero-style muscle shirts that give average-to-plump people the illusion of defined abs. That’s not the case though and this Celebrity Brother Contestant had those fake six pack muscles surgically implanted under his skin. I’m not kidding and my mouth is hanging open as I type this. The guy is a 46 year-old Australian paparazzo and he’s chub with “six pack abs” thanks to a process known as “contouring.” I would assume his arm muscles are enhanced as well. I guess it’s better than a beer gut, but it still looks like one with some balloons under the skin. Here’s more on this story, from The Daily Mail.

fakeabs2

It seems Amy Childs and Tara Reid aren’t the only surgically-enhanced celebrities in the CBB house.

Australian paparazzo Darryn Lyons has revealed that he had an appointment with a surgeon to create a set of abs.

Instead of sweating it out at the gym, the 46-year-old underwent the surgical procedure known as ‘contouring’, which gives the illusion of a washboard stomach.

The pink-haired housemate confided in co-star Paddy Doherty, 52, and bared his torso in the bedroom to reveal the transformation.

Talking about the procedure, Lyons said: ‘I had contouring done to my body.

‘I had to get really fit and lose a fair bit of weight. It takes away all the fat around it and actually lets your natural abs be there.

‘Basically it’s the male version of a boob job.’

An impressed Paddy called Lyons’ new look ‘the bees knees’, as photographer Lyons added: ‘I’m over the moon with it.’
Lyons’ torso has something of the superhero look about it and is quite obviously superficial. Indeed, he could almost be wearing padding.

[From The Daily Mail]

The Mail has more on the procedure, which involves liposuction to the stomach along with those implants. The Sun quotes a cosmetic surgeon who estimates that it cost around £6,000 or around $9,900 USD.

Overall the effect is totally ridiculous, but it probably fits this guy’s personality well. He says he loves it, after all.

January Jones’s on-screen son says Jones is “not approachable”

Posted: 23 Aug 2011 06:53 AM PDT

wenn3463265

One of the little quirks of Mad Men is that it seems like producers have replaced the child actor playing Bobby Draper (the son of Betty and Don Draper) several times. Allegedly, Bobby has only gotten replaced once, but I really feel like there was at least one other child actor in the mix, making THREE Bobby Drapers. Anyway, the latest and last Bobby Draper, a kid named Jared Gilmore, is out of production now. He left Mad Men for a role on Once Upon a Time, which… good for him? Sure. It's not like Bobby Draper is given that much to do - when we see Betty and Don as parents, it's mostly through their interaction with Sally (Kiernan Shipka). Anyway, as Jared Gilmore was leaving, he gave a little exit interview to TV Guide, and he ended up calling out January Jones:

A new actor will assume the role of Don and Betty’s son, Bobby, since Jared Gilmore opted to take a series-regular role on ABC’s new Once Upon a Time instead of the seven episodes Mad Men offered.

Jared’s advice for his replacement: “Be careful around January [Jones]. She’s not as approachable as the others. She’s really serious about what she does. Everyone else is so nice.”

[From TV Guide]

Ha! January is such an idiot, and now we know that she's mean to kids too. If you listen to January talk about her Betty character, it's clear that January is too stupid to really understand the nuances of what and who Betty really is - January just wants to stand around, looking pretty (which is kind of what Betty wants to do). Incidentally, Kiernan Shipka (Sally Draper) has spoken about her relationships with various cast members, and she never sounds like January's biggest fan either. Kiernan seems closest to Jon Hamm and Elisabeth Moss, both of whom seem to adore her.

Here are some recent photos of January and her bump. She's still pregnant, for the love of God. And she's still getting pap'd all of the time. She won't be getting as much attention now that Jennifer Garner is knocked up, though. Dimple Parade photos sell better than Mystery Paternity Bump photos.

Helen Mirren in red Michael Kors at a screening: stunning, fabulous or meh?

Posted: 23 Aug 2011 06:24 AM PDT

the_debt_05_wenn3479349

OMG, have you see the trailer for The Debt? I'm SO seeing this movie. But I love stories about Mossad and the Cold War - Spielberg's Munich is one of the best movies ever! Anyway, The Debt. It's a film told in two storylines - these three Mossad agents are hunting a Nazi war criminal in the USSR in the years after WWII, and then the three agents as senior spies, reflecting on their mission and how the mission was screwed up. Helen Mirren is one of the spies! And Jessica Chastain plays the young Mirren character. The film also stars Sam Worthington, Marton Csokas, Tom Wilkinson, and Ciarán Hinds (*squeal*). Here's the trailer. It looks so good.

Anyway, Mirren and Chastain were the stars of a screening last night. Or should I say, Helen Mirren was the star, because the bitch looks AMAZING. Helen's red dress is Michael Kors. I even love her blowout! I guess I should mention that Dame Helen is wearing fug ankle shoes/booties, though. She has great legs, but you can't tell because of her shoe choice.

the_debt_outside_arrivals_21_wenn3478974

Jessica Chastain (who is in everything these days) wore an edited Christian Dior from 2008. It's pretty, although it's hit-or-miss wearing such a pale color when you're a pale redhead. Jessica makes it work, though, and she's got a killer figure. The makeup is overdone - raccoon eyes! I blame Duchess Kate.

the_debt_outside_arrivals_03_wenn5708041

And Alan Cumming, for no reason other than he's fabulous and he needs to STOP. I do not need to see Cumming's cleavage.

Sean Penn disrespects ‘Tree of Life’ & Terrence Malick: is it just sour grapes?

Posted: 23 Aug 2011 05:50 AM PDT

wenn3346141

Before Terrence Malick's Tree of Life premiered at the Cannes Film Festival this year, there were many, many Hollywood people who were already claiming that it was a shoo-in for all of the big award nominations, just for the sheer fact that it was Malick film, starring Brad Pitt and Sean Penn. What could go wrong? Well, some critics hated the film (even booing it at Cannes), and some people held on to their "Masterpiece!" claims once they had seen the film. I still haven't seen it, by the way. And I probably won't for a while, just because it sounds like Malick was very self-indulgent and precious as a director, and I have issues with that kind of masturbatory "genius". Anyway, Sean Penn has a new interview where he too criticized the film, but Hollywood insiders say it's just sour grapes because Malick edited Sean's part so much:

Film insiders are saying that Sean Penn's criticism of director Terrence Malick's "Tree of Life" is sour grapes over his role in the mystical movie being chopped.

France's Le Figaro quoted the star as saying, "I didn't at all find on the screen the emotion of the script, which is the most magnificent one that I've ever read … Frankly, I'm still trying to figure out what I'm doing there and what I was supposed to add … Terry himself never managed to explain it to me clearly."

But sources tell us Penn's role was much larger in the script than what ended up on-screen. And critics noted that Penn's part, which bookends the picture, is the smallest of the core actors', including Brad Pitt and Jessica Chastain.

Last winter, blogs buzzed that Penn would be an Oscar shoo-in as Best Actor. Now he's left out of that conversation. Penn worked with Malick before in "The Thin Red Line."

"You know what you're signing up for," said a source.

Adrien Brody's role in "Red Line" was reduced to two lines, and Martin Sheen, Gary Oldman, Bill Pullman, Jason Patric, Lukas Haas, Viggo Mortensen and Mickey Rourke were cut out entirely. Malick's rep declined to comment. Penn's rep didn't get back to us.

[From Page Six]

I don't know if I can take anybody's side in this case. Should I really slam Sean for offering a mild criticism (for HIM) when it's obvious to many people that the film does have some issues, and that it's not for everyone? The worst I can say about Sean is that he should stand up for his own work and not sh-t on a director he chose to work with AGAIN, knowing how it could turn out. Also, I suppose it is petty when Sean is probably peeved that his part was cut and no one is mentioning his name for awards anymore, while Brad's part wasn't cut that much, and Brad is still being discussed for awards. Still, I think Malick probably deserves more criticism than he's gotten - people are walking on eggshells around Malick because everyone thinks he's a "genius".
