Lil' Wayne was rushed to the hospital yesterday after he fell off his skateboard and banged up his head.  Get the deets inside and read about Brandy's new record deal.

While hanging out in St. Louis, MO yesterday, Lil' Wayne was involved in a skateboarding accident. He's been practicing with the pros lately for his new hobby.

The rapper suffered a large gash to his head and was treated at a local hospital.  But no worries--he tweeted earlier today,

"The Lou was good but I busted my fuggin head at the sk8park! 9stitches! Gnarly gash over my left eye! Luv the people"

Sounds like Wayne will recover in a short while. Just in time for the VMAs this weekend and his The Carter IV release next week.

Also in music...

Brandy announced recently that she's doing a change-up and has signed with RCA/Chameleon Records.  The singer is also excited to announce that she is working on an album, scheduled for release in early 2012.

And the execs over at RCA seem to love her. Peter Edge, Chief Executive Office, RCA Music Group said,

"Throughout her career Brandy has consistently won the vote as everyone's favorite female vocalist. I am sure that in her next chapter at RCA and in partnership with Breyon Prescott, we will record her most exciting music to date."

And then Tom Corson, President and COO, RCA Music Group said,

“Brandy is a worldwide superstar, an award winning performer and a critically acclaimed talent. We are excited to welcome her to RCA Records and look forward to working with her on her new musical endeavors.”

Congrats Brandy.  Hopefully new music is on the way...

LisaRaye showed off her new hair extensions.

Sean Garrett was there for the event.

Lisa Wu looked cute in her fave color gray.

Four snaps in a polka-dotted twist for Dwight.  This whole thing is killing me softly.

YBF actresses Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer were champions at the box office once again as their movie The Help moved into the #1 slot with $20.5 million in sales. Get the deets inside.....

The Disney produced film The Help continues to show signs of staying power at the box office as it rose to the #1 spot recently, taking in $20.5 million in sales.

Industry vets say the film's good "buzz" is what accounts for the move and now The Help has racked up $71.3 million in its first 10 days of release.

David Holis, Disney's executive vice president of distribution, said

"We hoped that The Help would be a breath of fresh air at the end of a busy summer, and that has turned out to be the case."

Unfortunately, Lisa Bonet's baby daddy Jason Momoa's Conan The Barbarian didn't go as well.  The film had a budget of $70 million but only took in $10 million last week.

Here's how the top 5 performed:

1. The Help: $20.5 million

2. Rise of the Planet of the Apes: $16.3 million

3. Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D: $12 million

4. Conan the Barbarian: $10 million

5. Fright Night: $8.3 million

DO GOODER: Dwight Howard Hits Tanzania...With $80K For Schools

Posted: 22 Aug 2011 06:15 AM PDT

Instead of spending his time suing his baby mama, The Orlando Magic's power forward Dwight Howard has been putting his time to better use via his D12 foundation to make an impact on the educational opportunities for children in Tanzania. Get the deets on his good deeds inside.......

This past week, Dwight Howard joined executives from his D12 Foundation on a trip to the United Republic of Tanzania where he visited the Kipok Secondary School in the Monduli region and the Lunguya Secondary School in Shinyanga.  While there, Dwight donated more than $80K to their educational efforts.

Dwight's donation will be used to build dormitories on the grounds of each school so that the young girls are safe from danger and are provided three meals a day.

Asked about his donation, Dwight said,

"Our donation is just a start for the future of the youth in Tanzania. If we can protect them while they obtain an education, we protect their future and the future of Tanzania."

Dwight also visited the International School of Tanganyika 'ss Secondary School Campus in Dar es Salaam.  While there, he taught basketball skills and delivered a motivational message to the students.  Sweet!

It's great to see Dwight doing big things around the world with his resources.  It's amazing that over the past year, he also found time to help rebuild houses in Alabama after the 2011 tornadoes and to serve as a Celebrity Ambassador for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Start Something Campaign.

Keep up the good work Dwight!
