Angelina Jolie is being sued, and she took the kids to see ‘The Muppets’ in NYC

Posted: 04 Dec 2011 07:46 AM PST

Here are some new photos of Angelina Jolie taking three of her kids to see The Muppets in New York City. I guess only Shiloh, Zahara and Pax wanted to see The Muppets? Maddox was all, "I'd rather see Arthur Christmas, y'all. I'll sit this one out." And Vivienne and Knox are too little for Muppet movies, I suppose. I don't really have much to say about these photos – Angelina looks pretty, and it's totally unnecessary for her to be wearing shades, considering it's dark out. I love the body language of Zahara and Pax, though – Pax is wearing a shark mask, and he must not be able to see, so Zahara is all, "I'll show you the way, my brother."

Meanwhile, Angelina Jolie is getting sued in federal court. Croatian journalist James J. Braddock claims that Jolie "stole" the story for her film In the Land of Blood and Honey from an article (and book) he wrote about a woman who was subjected to rape in a POW camp.

Angelina Jolie is being sued for allegedly stealing the story behind her new movie, In the Land of Blood and Honey, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

In legal documents filed in federal court obtained by Radar, Croatian journalist and author James J. Braddock (aka Josip J. Knezevic) says an article he wrote and published in 2007 is the basis for the film, which was written and directed by Jolie.

The film is a fictionalized account of an unlikely love story between a Serbian soldier and a Muslim woman during the Bosnian War. Brad Pitt was often on location when Angie was working, taking photographs of her at work.

As an example of the similarities between the story he published and the storyline of the film, the lawsuit states:

“The Subject Work's main female character is subject to continuous abuse and rape by soldiers and officers in the camp. In addition to being raped continuously by soldiers and officers, she is forced to become a servant at the camp headquarters, a duty assumed by very few of the captives. The Motion Picture's main female character is also subject to continuous rape by soldiers and officers in the camp and subsequently becomes a servant at camp headquarters.”

Braddock has also named GK Films, the L.A.-based production company which financed and is releasing the film, and several other entities.

He’s demanding a jury trial asking the court to award him damages.

In the Land of Blood and Honey opens December 23.

This guy has a website too, and a really long essay about Angelina Jolie and how she just stole everything from him – go here to read his rather insane rant. God knows, I'm accused of playing favorites when it comes to Angelina (it's true – she's one of my favorites), but this guy doesn't seem to have much of a case, by his own admission. He claims that Angelina took his articles and books and CHANGED them into a "banal love story… that would be impossible during the war…" Which means that she didn't copy his story, she created her own story which is set partially in a POW camp. This guy doesn't OWN the concept of POW camps. He also doesn't help his case by claiming that Angelina is just like a Serbian aggressor in 1992. It seems like this guy is just pissed off at the world and hoping that Angelina will just shell out some hush money.

Angelina is in New York ahead of the premiere of In the Land of Blood and Honey, which will be happening this week. Will Brad be there? What will she wear? Will she field questions about this lawsuit?

UPDATE: Angelina covers the new issue of Newsweek too, via ET:

Beyonce says conspiracies about her 8-month bump are “ridiculous”

Posted: 04 Dec 2011 07:39 AM PST

Beyonce appeared on 20/20 on Friday to promote her new live album and, of course, to talk about her Bump of Mysteries and Conspiracies. Thus far, Beyonce – through her rep – has only bothered to comment on all of the conspiracy theories once, when just after Beyonce's bump "collapsed" on an Australian television show, the rep said the conspiracies were "stupid, ridiculous and false." In this new 20/20 interview, Bey tells Katie Couric that, "You know there are certain things that are so far, it doesn’t even affect me. I am cool, it is so ridiculous and over the top." Here's the full video interview and some quotes from the piece:

Since announcing her pregnancy to the world back in August 2011 at the MTV Video Music Awards, Beyonce fans have eagerly been on baby bump watch. But in October the singer sparked rumours that she was wearing a prosthetic belly after her stomach appeared to collapse as she sat down during a live TV appearance in Australia.

Now the 30-year-old star, who has branded the stories as ‘ridiculous’, has spoken out for the first time about how she feels about the reports. In an interview with Katie Couric for ABC’s 20/20, she said she treated the stories like water off a ducks back.

‘You know there are certain things that are so far, it doesn’t even affect me,’ she said.
‘I am cool, it is so ridiculous and over the top.’

In fact the Love On Top singer revealed that it was her mother, Tina Knowles, that needed to be calmed down the most.

‘She’s like “no one is going to talk about my gran-baby.”‘ she said. ‘I was like calm down mom, it’s OK.’

In her interview with Couric last night, Beyonce was certainly more eager to discuss other things. She talked openly about her pregnancy in detail and her new DVD Live At Roseland. She also explained why she decided to reveal her pregnancy on stage at the MTV Awards, the moment in which she stripped off her jacket and rubbed her belly after performing her hit song, Love On Top.

‘News that is that big… it is hard to keep to yourself,’ she explained to Couric. ‘I felt so liberated and I could breathe and be happy. I went straight off the stage, I hugged Jay and I hugged my mom’ she explained.

Beyonce told Couric that she would soon be taking time off to prepare for the birth of her baby, and then afterwards to care for the tot and also to lose her baby weight. ‘I am not looking forward to that because I am having a good time!’ she said.

‘I’ve been really conscious [about food],’ she told Couric. ‘I’ve been trying my best not to lose control. Because I’ve met so many people that say, “My second baby, my third baby, I’ve learned my lesson,”‘ she explains of other mothers who struggled to lose their baby weight. ‘So I haven’t been going crazy. I know it’s important that I don’t lose myself.’

Beyonce told the 54-year-old TV journalist that she couldn’t wait to get her hands on her bundle of joy.

‘I am so anxious I want to hold the baby!’ she laughed. ‘The best thing is knowing that my favourite person in the world… I haven’t met them yet. It’s exciting.’

And she revealed that her husband Jay-Z was equally waiting with anticipation, when Couric asked about his no doubt huge excitement.

‘You can only imagine and multiply that,’ she said.

In the interview Couric also tried her hand at getting the singer to reveal the sex of the baby.

‘Should I get you a pink baby present or a blue baby present?’ she asked.

But Beyonce only coyly put her finger to her mouth and replied: ‘Hmm…’

However Couric pressed, telling her that her bestfriend Kelly Rowland had already let the sex of the baby slip.

‘Really?’ Beyonce asked.

‘She said that you were going to have a girl,’ Couric laughed.

‘Did she?’ the singer hummed, once again holding her finger to her mouth.

[From The Mail]

Yeah, I don't even know at this point. Apparently, she's eight months pregnant, and her bump keeps going up and down, up and down. I had my conspiracy theories all locked up a few months ago when I thought she was genuinely pregnant, but I'll admit that at this point, I kind of doubt she's even pregnant.

By the way, did you hear that Beyonce's 4 got snubbed by the Grammys? Every one of Beyonce's solo albums has been nominated for Album of the Year and Best R&B Album of the year – two categories that 4 wasn't nominated for. Probably because the album blows?

Ryan Reynolds & Blake Lively go for an ice cream date in Connecticut

Posted: 04 Dec 2011 07:09 AM PST

Well, it looks like the most boring celebrity couple of the year isn't going to mix it up by New Year's. On Friday, I was thrilled with a tabloid report that suggested that Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds might be having issues – allegedly, Blake is already pushing for commitment (like, marriage) and Ryan is all "Hey, this was just a fling, baby." I had my fingers crossed for a breakup, followed immediately by Blake running back to Leonardo DiCaprio and The Triumphant Return of Bleo. Unfortunately, it looks like Blake and Ryan are still loved up, this time in Connecticut. They were hanging out, doing WASPy things all over the place:

How sweet is this?

Ryan Reynolds took girlfriend Blake Lively on an old-fashioned date in Connecticut Friday night, where the two held hands and shared ice cream out of the same cup.

The couple spent the evening walking hand in hand at the annual Ridgefield Downtown Holiday Stroll, in picturesque Ridgefield, where carolers roamed the streets, kids posed for pictures with Santa and couples took rides in a horse-drawn carriage.

After strolling around the holiday festival for a bit, Reynolds, 35, and Lively, 24, stopped into Deborah Ann’s Sweet Shoppe, where they “tried a few samples of ice cream off of those little spoons,” says an eyewitness at the ice cream parlor.

“They picked their own flavors, English Toffee and Chocolate Fudge Brownie, but put them in the same cup and shared it.”

“They left holding hands,” says the eyewitness, who further described them as “very nice. They just blended in. They seemed very happy together. They were very excited about the ice cream.”

[From People]

If they followed all of that up with martoonis at the country club with Muffy and Boomer, I wouldn't be surprised at all. The only surprise is the ice cream flavors, honestly. They're so boring, I would have thought they'd both go for vanilla. "My vanilla tastes so good, try it." "No, my vanilla is better, here, have a taste!" Blah. Other eyewitness accounts include this one from Radar: “Blake and Ryan went to the Ridgefield Holiday Stroll and they were so cute holding hands the whole night… [they were] whispering to each other all night, and were laughing while they walked around. They looked like a regular couple and they were really cute when they would check out stores and smile at each other. They were so cute together and he’s so attractive!” OMG, Blake's publicist needs to find a new word besides "cute."

Brooke Mueller arrested in Aspen, charged with possession and assault

Posted: 04 Dec 2011 06:13 AM PST

A few weeks ago, Brooke Mueller and Charlie Sheen (now divorced) appeared on Entertainment Tonight. The goal, I think, was trying to show the world that they were both doing well and raising their babies together. Unfortunately, they both seemed like they were blitzed out of their minds, Brooke even more than Charlie. Between the two of them, I've long suspected that Charlie is the one who is sober more often, and the one who can keep his junk together more consistently while high as a kite. Brooke just seemed like a total mess, like there is no point in her life where she is simply maintaining a veneer of "sobriety". Anyway, my assumption was right. Brooke was just arrested in Aspen, Colorado for possession and assault.

Brooke Mueller was arrested while vacationing in Aspen, Colorado for felony cocaine possession with the intention to distribute early Saturday morning.

In a statement released by the Aspen Police Department, Charlie Sheen’s ex, 34, was also busted for a misdemeanor 3rd degree assault charge.

The mom of 2-year-old twin sons Bob and Max was released from Pitkin County Jail Saturday morning when she posted the $11,000 bond. Mueller has a District Court date of December 19.

On Christmas day in 2009, Sheen, 46, allegedly held a knife to Mueller’s throat and threatened to kill her. He later pled guilty on lesser charges and spent time in rehab, not jail. Since the incident, the two had lived apart, although their divorce wasn’t officially granted until this past May.

A source told Us Weekly in August that the parents have been “getting counseling and therapy [with] the boys” and Mueller, who has struggled with substance addiction, is “actually responding to treatment.”

[From Us Weekly]

According to Radar, everything went down at a series of clubs in Aspen. A woman came up to police officers at Belly Up Aspen, and the woman claimed that she'd been assaulted by Brooke. Officers found Brooke at Escobar, another nightclub and she was arrested and charged with "assault in the third degree (class one misdemeanor) and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute (class four felony)." And Radar's source says, "How do you help someone like Brooke? Her parents even moved to Los Angeles to take care of her and help her take care of her kids, and that didn’t even help. With this latest development, her friends are beyond caring anymore.”

Even People Magazine's sources admit that Brooke is a cokehead disaster too – all of these anonymous "sources" seem to have been sent out to do damage control, and it speaks volumes that People Magazine got one of harsher critiques of Brooke: "Brooke can’t stay sober on her own. Maybe this [arrest] will force her to go into a treatment center for a long stay. Thirty-day rehabs won’t work for her. Her family has been trying to get her to do this, now maybe the court will force her to get the help she needs! She has enough family to take care of the kids while she’s away.” But! Brooke's rep, Steve Honig (the same rep as LINDSAY LOHAN for the love of God, THAT should tell you something) tells People Mag: "I think anyone who is truly a friend of Brooke’s would not be spending their time talking anonymously and behind her back to the media. I seriously question the validity of any comments made by these people alleging to be friends with Brooke.” Yeah, I think the anonymously-sourced quote comes from her family, and I feel bad for them. They probably are hoping that the legal system will help clean up this mess.
