Mila Kunis & Ashton Kutcher are dating, they spent the weekend together

Posted: 24 Apr 2012 08:53 AM PDT

Last week, X17 got exclusive photos of Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis looking like they might have been on a date. Some outlets ran with the "Mila and Ashton are both single, are probably dating" story until Mila's rep went to Us Weekly to deny the story. Mila's rep said, "No! They’re so not dating… They’ve been friends for years… Definitely nothing going on there.” Us Weekly also spoke to a Mila-friendly insider who insisted that Mila "would never ever" be romantically involved with Ashton. Except that it's looking more and more like Mila and Ashton are involved somehow. People Magazine reports that Mila and Ashton went away to Santa Barbara over the weekend. Jackie! Kelso! Gross.

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis enjoyed some serious alone time together during an escape from L.A. last weekend.

The longtime friends and That ’70s Show costars went on a three-day getaway to the coastal town of Carpinteria, Calif., just south of Santa Barbara. While away, Kutcher, 34, and Kunis, 28, dined on sushi, shopped for fruit and flowers and spent plenty of time in private.

After driving up from L.A. together last Thursday, the pair were spotted grabbing a quiet sushi lunch for two the next day. Later that day, Kutcher looked on while Kunis bought sunflowers and blueberries at a roadside fruit stand.

They weren’t spotted out on Saturday but made a coffee run the next day before driving back to L.A., where a solo Kutcher took in the Lakers game court-side.

Last week Kunis’s rep denied rumors that the pair were an item after they were spotted going to dinner with friends and reportedly shopping for furniture.

Neither rep would comment on their weekend outing, but a Kutcher source tells PEOPLE that the Two and a Half Men star has long held a torch for Kunis.

“He was so in love with her for a while when they worked together,” says the source. “He thought she was a goddess, was always talking about how beautiful she is. But she was with Macaulay [Culkin] for a lot of that time and also just generally gave off a not interested vibe.”

Adds the source, “It never happened, but I’m not surprised by this – at all.”

Still, another source close to the actor says Kutcher isn’t looking for romance right now: “He always talked about Mila like a little sister. They’re definitely close pals and have been. I think if anything she’s a good time for him. But he’s not looking for anything serious.”

[From People]

So… Ashton has always been in love with her, he was always pining away for her, for years and years and years and now that they're both single and available, he just wants her to know that he's only looking for a hookup, y'all. Because Ashton is a d-bag. And because Mila has horrible taste in boys.

Anyway, I think it's on. Meaning that they're hanging out, sleeping together, that kind of thing. I'm hoping that it's casual on both their parts.

Who is crackie enough to play Richard Burton to Lindsay Lohan’s Liz Taylor?

Posted: 24 Apr 2012 08:26 AM PDT

Rosie O'Donnell was part of a panel discussion this morning on Today. The group – which included Star Jones and Donny Deutsch – ended up discussing Lindsay Lohan's formal casting in Lifetime's Liz & Dick, a TV movie about Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton's relationship. In a moment of extreme clarity, Rosie laid it out: "I feel very sorry for [Lindsay]. I think she needs a lot of help… She needs time away.” Then Matt Lauer asked, "But is it a good idea to cast her?” Rosie said, "No! Because she’s had a lot of trouble doing every single movie, including SNL. She was out and not at rehearsal. I think she’s not in a place to work.” Then Deutsch tried to defend LL, saying "She's our generation’s Elizabeth Taylor,” and Rosie went crazy, “You’re out of your mind. You’re a crackhead! Get out of here! The last thing she did good she was 16. I don’t think she’s right for the role and I don’t think she’s capable at this point of doing what’s needed.” I completely cosign everything Rosie said. Why are so many people in the media and Hollywood so afraid of saying this? The Cracken is a mess. This casting is a cracktastrophe.

That being said, it will probably be fun to watch the train wreck. Speaking of, several outlets are now running stories about who should be cast as Richard Burton. Well, if this was a real, authentic film about a complicated love story and two of the most interesting personalities of the 20th century, there would only be one choice for Richard Burton: CLIVE OWEN. Same sexy voice, y'all. But considering this is not going to be a quality film of any kind, but a cracked-out disaster, who should play Richard Burton?

People Mag suggests Russell Crowe, Brendan Coyle (Sad Sack John Bates from Downton Abbey) or Jermaine Clement (from Flight of Conchords). You know it's not going to be anyone like that, though. They'll probably cast an American to do a Welsh accent. And they'll probably cast someone like Wilmer Valderrama. No joke. Here are some of the Burton options…

KELLAN LUTZ!!! OMG, Kellan should totally get cast as Burton!

Joey Lawrence. Totally.

Daniel Baldwin. This one actually makes sense.

Charlie Sheen, because why pretend there's anyone else who could do it?

Claire Danes in hot pink Narciso Rodriguez: gorgeous or blah?

Posted: 24 Apr 2012 08:11 AM PDT

Claire Danes

Claire Danes was on hand at the Tribeca Film Festival for last night premiere of Hysteria, which stars her husband Hugh Dancy as Mortimer Granville, the doctor who invented the modern electromechanical vibrator in 1880 (or so). Maggie Gyllenhaal, who stars in the film, was not present because, presumably, she’s getting some much needed rest while heavily pregnant with her second child. So we’ll have to get our female fashion fix with Claire, who wore a hot pink and black shift-type Narciso Rodriguez dress, which was slightly daring in its color choice but quite strange in the boob area. The top part of the dress squishes Claire’s girls and makes her look really flat, which she totally isn’t. I think this look is supposed to be “edgy,” but Claire pulled off that vibe a lot better in last year’s metallic blue Oscar de la Renta gown. She still looks quote lovely though even if her eye makeup is a bit too severe.

Claire Danes

Claire Danes

Hugh Dancy was there too, of course! He and Claire walked the red carpet separately — I guess because it’s his film, and Claire’s pink dress would’ve distracted from the red carpet’s rightful focus. Maybe. All I know is that Hugh looks like a British dreamboat.

Hugh Dancy

Christy Turlington and Edward Burns were in attendance as well and dressed down for the event. Ed looks like he’s totally over this and would rather be a few steps away in his own Tribeca apartment. Can’t say I blame him.

Chris Brown sells purebred pit bull puppies, fuels debate on breeding vs. adoption

Posted: 24 Apr 2012 07:44 AM PDT

Chris Brown with puppy
Huffpo is reporting on this tweet by Chris Brown’s mother, @mombreezy, which points us to a website called “CB Breeds” featuring Chris Brown holding up an adorable pure bred pit bull puppy and looking pouty. Several four month-old pit bull puppies with papers are featured on the website at a cost of $1,000 a piece. (Which sounded steep to me, but is actually on par with what other breeders are charging. The one big fail on that website is that they don’t mention where the dogs are actually located.) It’s probably a venture by Chris’ mom that her son is lending his celebrity to, and it’s not a terrible idea for his image, as Huffpo points out. Everyone looks softer with an adorable puppy, don’t they? This may backfire on him though. Here’s more:

Chris Brown

In surprising celebrity business ventures news, it appears Chris Brown is putting his assets into a little bit of adorableness.

The entertainer’s mother, Joyce Hawkins, tweeted an announcement of the new business on Sunday night, along with a link to the new “CB Breeds” web site:

On the site, Brown is seen posing with a puppy above a list of named, adoptable pets, all of which are priced at “$1,000 each.”

If this is some sort of ploy to get us to associate Chris Brown with cute puppies, we’re just not going to fall for … — oh gawwwwd look at ‘Freedom’s’ little wrinkles!

[From Huffington Post]

This is spurring a whole debate in the comments on HuffPo about the issue of buying from a breeder vs. adopting rescue dogs that need homes. I think as long as you don’t support puppy mills, it’s a personal choice, but many animal advocates are outraged. Here’s a sample of the negative comments on Huffpo:

Yes, the puppies are adorable …. so are the thousands upon thousands of similar “Wrinkly” puppies in the Shelters that are desperately waiting for new homes or facing death!! – JCNash1

I volunteer as an animal rescuer for a local no-kill shelter in my city and this incenses me beyond belief. I have seen the effects of animal over-population, cruelty, neglect and abuse; things done to animals that would make the strongest soul weep. Anyone who breeds MORE animals in an over-burgeoning world of homeless cats and dogs is useless, greedy and ignorant. – boppills

Anyone with a lick of sense knows better than to buy a dog from a breeder. There are too many animals already without homes. I think that this will hurt his image, especially with educated animal lovers – cracker88

[From comments on Huffpo]

I’m not a dog owner due to my living situation, but this is tugging at my heartstrings a little bit. We went to a dog event over the weekend with my parents’ rescue dog and there were so many sweet puppies there without homes. I was actually grateful when this pug I had my eye on wouldn’t come to me.

Pit bulls have a reputation as aggressive dogs, but that’s often due to improper training and owner neglect. There are countless pit bulls in need of homes, and if you’d like to adopt one The Pit Bull Rescue Center is a good place to start. I was reading some of the dogs’ stories on that site and found them very touching. I’ve always had a soft spot for pit bulls though. They have such attractive, expressive faces.

So will this do damage to Chris’ already well-deserved bad reputation? He does that well enough himself in his spare time on Twitter. His Instagram handle is “f*ckyopictures,” no asterisk, and he recently tweeted a photo of his pants on the ground with the title “taking a sh*t before the show.”

Here’s Chris performing on 4-15-12 in Australia. You may think I used only the bad photos of him, but he pretty much looks like this in all of them. Credit: WENN.com

Kim Kardashian: “When people are so stupid, you just have to have fun with it”

Posted: 24 Apr 2012 07:19 AM PDT

These are some photos of Kim Kardashian last night in NYC. She and her whole family walked the red carpet for the Scott Disick's new restaurant, RYU (it's Japanese food!). Anyway, Kim walked the carpet solo, but Kanye West also came to the event, and he and Kim posed together inside – you can see the photo here. Thoughts on Kim's outfit? I know all of the fashionistas are going to scream at me and tell me that I'm obviously out of touch with current fashions and I'm "boring" etc, but I really don't get why dust ruffles are "in" these days. From Emma Stone to Scarlett Johansson and now to Kim Kardashian, everybody is wearing peplums (fancy word for "dust ruffle"). They're such an awful trend, and look at Kim's dress – it would have been a really great LBD without the waist ruffle. As for Kim's Kat-face… horrible. The Croydon facelift isn't helping either. Look at her weird hairline!

In other Kardashian news, Kim and Khloe did an interview with Paper Magazineyou can read the full thing here. It's really long and exhaustive and no one really needs to know that much about them. So here are some highlights:

Kim Kardashian is ubiquitous on the web — and for good reason.

“I think that the internet has brought on a different kind of celebrity. We are very well aware of who we are, and what our place is,” the 31-year-old reality star and businesswoman tells Paper. “We are so active on Twitter, on our Facebook pages — we are writing back, we are connecting. We enjoy it.”

The California native was “obsessed” with Friendster and MySpace in her teens, and now she regularly updates her Celebuzz blog and posts pictures to her Instagram account. Though she once set a Google alert for her name, she’s no longer interested in reading about herself online.

“I got rid of my old e-mail address, and they were on there. It was the big question in my mind: Do I add my Google alert to my new e-mail? I haven’t, and I just feel I have peace of mind now,” Kardashian says. “I would look at it all day long. It doesn’t consume me. I hardly look on the Internet like I used to.”

Unfortunately, Kardashian is sometimes forced to address vicious comments about her appearance and her personal life on Twitter. “I love writing them back. People will write me, ‘My phone battery lasts longer than Kim Kardashian’s marriage,’ and I’ll write back, ‘Oh, which phone is that?’”

“When people are so stupid, you just have to have fun with it,” she explains. “Someone [without a profile photo] will say I’m fat, or a hairy Armenian, and I’ll write back, ‘Oh, that egg picture of yours is so gorgeous.’”

[From Us Weekly]

Khloe says that having a Google alert for your own name is "toxic" – which I would have to agree with. How could you live like that if you were a celebrity? Responding emotionally to every single little thing that people say about you? Rough. As for Kim – she sounds pretty immature here, but I just assume that's who she is in real life, so whatever.

Michael Fassbender: ‘I’m… quite comfortable riding bareback. And riding horses’

Posted: 24 Apr 2012 05:55 AM PDT

As I already previewed last week, Michael Fassbender has a feature in the new issue of American Vogue. He and Natalia Vodianova got their supermodel on in an oddly Germanic/Sprockets-style photo shoot. What I didn't realize at the time was that Fassy actually did a new interview with Vogue too. And it's HEAVEN!!! I mean, new Fassbender interviews are always heavenly, but I found out some new information about him, and considering that I'm stalking him, new information is always welcome. Anyway, here are some highlights, not all of which are quotes – like, I would love to hear Fassy's exact words on Brangelina, but the Vogue interviewer just glosses over that stuff. Here you go:

He squeezes in beside me, says yes, last night's BAFTA ceremony was so much fun; and his laughing, Irish-accented voice rolls out with brad and Angelina this and Colin Firth that and Meryl Streep the other, and how he had missed Judi Dench (whome he venerates), and how thrilled he was that his friend and collaborator John Maclean won Best Short Film for Pitch Black Heist (in which Fassbender did the heisting).

Fassy on Colin and Livia Firth: He likes the Firths and "Colin is a bloody brilliant actor."

Fassy on his style beyond the red carpet: "I have three pairs of jeans I recycle," he says, adding gravely, "My shopping sprees are sporadic and infrequent."

He loves Steve McQueen (the director): "Hunger really changed things. Filmmakers saw the film, so I was getting into the room earlier and with bigger directors."

He always wanted to study the Method from a young age: He read about the Method very young and deliberately went to the one drama school in the British Isles he thought would teach him the Lee Strasberg principles: the Drama Centre, whose alumni include Firth, Pierce Brosnan, and Simon Callow.

He has a one-bedroom flat in the dodgy part of London. He moved into the place in 2006: "I need to fix the whole place… because I've had leaks and stuff. Yeah, yeah, the roof… I don't like to get too carried away. A couple of friends of mine, one's an architect and one's an engineer in Dublin, they're going to come over and take a look at it."

Fassy on horses: He thinks he was up on a horse for the first time at six years old. "Yeah, pretty much, it was like 'get up there!' and the guy – Willie Joe – hit the arse of the hrse and off you go." He fell off, Willie Joe threw him back up and he would cling to the mane. "So I am actually quite comfortable riding bareback. And riding horses. I love it, it is one of the most exhilarating things."

On Brad Pitt: Fassbender rode his BMW R 1200 GS Adventure to the Sarajevo Film Festival, and his dad rode on a Triumph Tiger. Brad Pitt said, "Your dad drove with you? He must be some tough son of bitch." Fassbender admires Pitt hugely: for his generosity on Inglorious Basterds, when Fassbender was nervily feeling like it was a "massive deal to be on a Tarantino set." He also admires Plan B Entertainment, Pitt's production company, which is backing the third go-round in the McQueen-Fassbender outings, a movie called 12 Years a Slave (in which Pitt has a role).

Fassy on writers: "Working with writers is what I really enjoy. Associating myself with great writers and trying to find them. Actually, I am going to meet one now!"

[From Vogue, print edition]

Obviously, this interview was done the day after the BAFTAs, before Fassy had signed on to do The Counselor with Ridley Scott, with a cast which might include Brad Pitt and even Angelina… who might possibly play Fassy's love interest? I really, really want Angelina and Michael to work together. I've always wanted it… I just think they would be very interesting/sexy/fascinating on-screen together. As for Fassy showing his Basterd cohort Brad some major love – that's just sweet. Brad Pitt always inspires so much bromance, have you noticed that?

And yes, we should probably discuss the "So I am actually quite comfortable riding bareback. And riding horses" quote. I… just can't… concentrate right now. Fassy's casual sexual innuendos always leave me weak.

Princess Charlene of Monaco chopped off her hair: lovely or terrible?

Posted: 24 Apr 2012 04:29 AM PDT

Sometimes a haircut is just a haircut. Sometimes a haircut is about being dissatisfied with everything – your life, your marriage, your style, your own personal prison. Sometimes a haircut is about a trend, a season of shorter hair, the new must-have chop. Sometimes a haircut is about freedom, a way to say to the world, "I'm not the same girl I once was. Watch out, because I'm coming." I don't know what kind of haircut Princess Charlene of Monaco just got. Meaning, I don't know what it says about her and her state of mind. Charlene debuted her new 'do over the weekend, during the Monte Carlo Masters Tennis Tournament (Nadal was there – he won!).

I will say this – I don't think Charlene has ever been a hair person. Over the years, as Albert's girlfriend and then his wife, Charlene's makeover have been gradual, but you got the feeling that no one really knew what to do with her hair. She usually kept it around her shoulders, and for some public appearances over the past year, her hair looked really ragged and unkempt. I tend to think her hair was probably pretty thin and fine and over-processed when everything started, and sometimes it's just looked awful.

So… I actually like this cut. It's boyish and sleek and very summery. It's very Princess Diana circa 1996 – and that was a good year in Diana's Hair. It feels lighter. And Charlene LOOKS lighter and happier with shorter hair too. I've said it before – for all of the fussing over Duchess Kate, trying to make her into the next Princess Diana, Charlene is a natural for the role. She's depressed, she's stuck in a rotten marriage, and she loves clothes. And now, more than ever, she really looks like Diana. Watch this space!

Lindsay Lohan is officially signed on to the Elizabeth Taylor film, at long last

Posted: 24 Apr 2012 04:15 AM PDT

The last we heard from Team Crack about Lindsay Lohan taking on the role of Elizabeth Taylor in Lifetime's TV movie, Liz & Dick, it was last week's report about how Lindsay hadn't actually signed on the dotted line. I theorized that the producers of this film were just as sketchy as Lindsay, and I wondered aloud if this project would ever come to fruition. Well, I was wrong. This project is a go. And Lindsay has officially signed on, sort of. One of the producers spoke exclusively to E! News about Lohan's presence on the film, and while the phrase "she has officially signed on to play the part" doesn't appear anywhere, that's the basic gist.

There’s been mucho speculation for sometime that Lindsay Lohan would take on the iconic role (including some less than subtle hints from the actress herself), but rumors swirled her reputation and her now-completed probation were seriously affecting her chances. Not so, insists executive producer Larry Thompson, who exclusively revealed to E! News that Lindsay’s “perfect” for the part.

So, what’s got Larry believing in LiLo and taking a risk with her far-from-flawless past?

“We have wanted Lindsay from day one,” Thompson tells E! News in an exclusive interview. “She had a lot in her life that was going on. We needed to give her time to take care of her business, and while we negotiated the deal for her we prayed for her—and wonderfully she has behaved. She’s cleared herself and we’re ready to start this movie.”

What a relief (no doubt LiLo’s thrilled). But while Lindsay has cleared her legal slate, she’s far from perfect in the public eye, so we have to wonder why, exactly, Thompson felt he could trust the notorious starlet:

“We truly feel that Lindsay Lohan is perfect for Elizabeth Taylor for our movie….I think Lindsay—who is very gifted—deserved another chance,” Thompson explained. “We never, of three pages of ‘what if’s’ in the negotiation, there never was ‘what if she can’t act.’ We know she can act.”

Lindsay has more gusto than people normally give her cred and it’s clear Thompson truly believes in Lindsay’s Liz-like qualities:

“We could hire actresses that would be great and people would watch it, but I think that Lindsay brings to Elizabeth Taylor and to our project that sparkle of magic, that sparkle of today,” Thompson reveals while tearing up and recounting the emotional rollercoaster of casting the less-than-perfect LiLo. “She is today what Elizabeth Taylor was in her life during the time that our movie will cover. I think, while there are a lot of people who know Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, Lindsay will bring a young audience to our movie who might not otherwise know who they are.”

[From E! News]

Yeah. I'm getting a really sketchy vibe from this Larry Thompson person. I don't mean to be crude, but I have serious doubts that it was Lindsay's stellar acting talents that got her hired. Ugh, so creepy. Also note that Larry Thompson didn't say anything about Lindsay's crazy jacked Botox-face or her horrible lips. If somebody doesn't explicitly order her to stop doing that crap, LL's "Elizabeth Taylor" will be a puffy, frozen freak who can barely move her slug lips.

Speaking of being puffed up, Lindsay issued her own statement to Us Weekly after Thompson "confirmed" the news. The Cracken Speaketh!!! She says, "I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor. She was not only an incredible actress but an amazing woman as well. I am very honored to have been asked to play this role." Blah blah. You know she'd much rather play Marilyn Monroe. She barely gives a crap about Taylor.

Oh, and Lifetime's Executive Vice President Rob Sharenow also blew some smoke up Lindsay's ass saying, "We are thrilled Lindsay will portray beloved Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor. She is one of the rare actresses who possesses the talent, beauty and intrigue to capture the spirit of such a provocative icon." Talent? Debatable. Beauty? She snorted it away long ago. Intrigue? Cracked-drama queens are not intriguing. One last thing: the movie is going to be filming in LA, I guess, not Canada. Which is good. Because if they're filming in LA, Lindsay will have plenty of time to party at her favorite clubs.

Scarlett Johansson: “I am addicted to buffalo wings, I can’t stop eating them”

Posted: 24 Apr 2012 04:10 AM PDT

This is a complete non-story, but I just found it funny. God knows, we talk enough about body image and eating and who does and does not eat solid food… so it's always nice when a Hollywood actress openly discusses her love of food. Not just any solid food – buffalo wings! Yes, Scarlett Johansson, no longer on a strict diet, is downing a crazy amount of buffalo wings. Have at it Scar!

Scarlett Johansson was picture perfect in her form-fitting black Versace dress at the Los Angeles premiere of "The Avengers." However, the butt-kicking super hero insisted that it's only a matter of time before she packs on the pounds.

"Oh my good [I am obsessed] with buffalo chicken wings, I am addicted to them," Johansson told FOX411's Pop Tarts column. "You will have to roll me down the red carpet next time you see me."

Johansson's new-found food of choice comes on the heels of the super strict diet and workout regime she followed to be able to slip into a skin-tight "Black Widow" suit for the highly anticipated Marvel Comics blockbuster.

"You have to eat a really clean diet, a lot of kale and salmon. Basically you get all your nutrients and then training like crazy," she explained. "The training is crazy, but you just suck it up and do it. There is a lot of strength training and agility training, and fight choreography. You go in, and you just do it."

So the result of all that blood, sweat and tears?

"It was absolute nonstop action, it was intense and just a rollercoaster of fights, stunts and explosions," she said. "Then of course you have all these characters that do not belong together, and we are in the same room, and try to fight it out between us."

And for the record, even as Johansson walked away, we heard her chatting about those tasty buffalo wings.

"I can't stop eating them,” she whispered to her publicist. “I just can't get enough.”

[From Fox News]

"I can't stop eating them…" Are you that way about certain foods? I used to be. Like, I'm all about salty, carb-y goodness – that's my Achilles heel. I can pass by donuts, pastries, candy, caviar, pancakes and all of that. But I can never say no to potato chips. Or French fries. Or mashed potatoes. Anything that was ever a potato, basically. But as I get older, I do tire of my old favorites. Is it age? Or are my taste buds changing? Anyway, let ScarJo have her buffalo wings. Just keep putting her in dresses with dust ruffles around the waist, and no one will notice.

These are photos of Scarlett and her boys promoting The Avengers in Rome. Jesus, she's a lucky girl.

Eva Mendes goes solo in Beverly Hills: are Eva and Ryan Gosling still together?

Posted: 24 Apr 2012 04:08 AM PDT

Here are some new photos of Eva Mendes in Beverly Hills yesterday. According to the photo agency, she was spotted out and about, doing some shopping. As far as I can tell, Eva has been in LA since returning from Thailand several weeks ago. Eva was in Thailand for more than a month, keeping Ryan Gosling company as he filmed a movie – and perhaps keeping an eye on him so he didn't get distracted by any pretty young things too. What's interesting to me is that Ryan Gosling seemed to spend a lot of time in NYC after the Thailand film shoot ended. Ryan and Eva seemed to be taking a little break after spending so much time together in Thailand, and some people hoped the "break" would actually lead to an actual breakup.

But! Ryan was photographed in LA several days ago. Eva was spotted last week, stocking up on groceries, allegedly in preparation for Ryan's return. So… officially, Ryan and Eva are still together. Meaning that there has been no breakup announcement, and Eva and her rep will issue statements combating any rumor that there's trouble in paradise. This was your Gosling-Mendes FYI of the Day.

Also – should we talk about Eva's outfit here? That sweater looks so dated! I think my mom had that sweater in 1986. Same buttons, same unflattering cut. I don't really get Eva's "look" in general though.
