Jimmy Kimmel mocks the Kardashians at the Corres. Dinner: funny or dumb?

Posted: 29 Apr 2012 06:47 AM PDT

Here are some photos of Lindsay Lohan arriving in Washington, DC for the White House Correspondents' Dinner, which was last night. We don't have a lot of photos from the event (honestly, we don't have any so far) – you can see some here. Lindsay was there, as was Kim Kardashian, Sofia Vergara, George Clooney, Steven Spielberg, etc. Guess what? George didn't bring Stacy Keibler!!!! She had been tweeting about her dress fittings and everything, and then he didn't bring her. Clooney told Politico, "She couldn’t make it. She’s working.” She got a gig on Men at Work, it's true. But I still feel like there's probably trouble in paradise.

Anyway, I watched the speeches last night, and I have to say… the president was hysterical. He was funnier than Jimmy Kimmel. Or should I say… the president has funnier speechwriters than Kimmel? No, I actually think the president is just a funny guy. I love when he laughs at his own jokes. I loved his Hillary Clinton "drunk-texting" joke, and his "wink" at being born in Hawaii, and I LOVED his super-PAC ad about dogs. Here's Pres. Obama's full speech… it's worth watching the whole thing, but the fake commercial (voiceover by Will Arnett) begins around the 12-minute mark:

And here's Jimmy Kimmel's speech. Some of his jokes were really good, but some just fell flat. Kimmel also uses the word "a–hole" at one point, which… I mean, it doesn't bug me, but usually the comedians try to keep it clean, especially considering most of the cable news networks are running it live. Also loved his jokes about the Secret Service, and his name-checking Kim Kardashian and even Lindsay Lohan. Love the joke about who Obama was going to kill next, on the year anniversary of Osama Bin Laden's death.

See? Kimmel was funny, but the president was much better.

Kristen Stewart covers Elle UK, corrects her “my teachers failed me” comments

Posted: 29 Apr 2012 06:14 AM PDT

I heard a rumor several months back that Kristen Stewart was going to be on the June cover of Elle, and I really thought it was going to be the American edition – but here she is, covering the UK edition. I don't know if this means that she'll be on the American edition too…? She's got two films coming out in the next few months, so prepare yourselves for a Kristen extravaganza. First, she's going to be in Cannes to premiere On the Road – and she and Robert Pattinson might even walk the red carpet for each other's premieres! I doubt that, though. After Cannes, Kristen will be promoting Snow White and the Huntsman, and then On the Road will get it's wide release. The summer of K-Stew!

Anyway, what are the thoughts on this Elle UK photo shoot? I'm not in love with it. Kristen has turned in some interesting pictorials in the past, but this one… well, it's not actively bad, in my opinion. I dislike her hair on the cover, and I think they could have posed her a bit better and encouraged her to close her mouth more. I always want to physically straighten her out too – push her shoulders back until she's standing up straight. Anyway, here are some highlights from the interview:

Kristen on what she loves: "I f–king love everything about [acting]. I love movies, I love what they do. I am just so fuelled by it like nothing else in my life."

Robert Pattinson on Kristen's work ethic: Pattinson seems sweetly in awe of Kristen's professional drive, saying "She is very focused on being an actress. I mean, that's what she is… she's an actress, whereas I just don't really know."

Kristen on Snow White and the Huntsman: "It's a war movie and an identity crisis movie. Basically, she goes to jail when she's seven and gets out when she's 18. She's so stunted that she's essentially a child, even though she's already a woman. When she comes out she's got to save people, but she hasn't experienced anything like they have. She's very isolated. She has all these feelings and doesn't really know why yet, and I can relate to that."

Kristen on being a role model: "I don't apply it to the choices I make. I feel like a role model is not necessarily somebody you want to imitate, just someone you admire. I look at characters I play and think, 'F–k, I would like to be like that.' [Like Joan Jett], exactly. It makes sense to me why other don't just look at that person, they look at me. Anyone who happens to choose to look up to me, it's like, 'But I'm literally YOU. I'm looking up to the characters you're admiring me for choosing.'"

Fashion choices and bullying: "It's weird, at school I was torn apart for not wearing a certain brand of jeans. It nearly killed me. I was so embarrassed and so insecure, but I knew I could never put them on. I would look ridiculous."

Kristen on her previous comments that "her teachers failed her": Her clear eyes roll. "When I said they literally failed me, I meant that they literally failed me. As in, I got Fs!"

Being criticized, being misrepresented: "You grow calluses. I don't say ‘I'm not magnetic’ to try and sound self-deprecating. I'm just not. I'm pretty good at…" Repelling people? "yeah. Though I actually love people. I would like to meet more people. I know no one."

Her style: Her natural style is "not experimental," she admits, "I just wear very functional clothes. When I'm in London I feel so dressed down and young and Californian. Even if I try to look nice when I go out for dinner, I just don't have a thing. I will always wear no socks and be like, 'F–k, it's freezing, what am I doing?"

[From Elle Magazine UK, print edition]

The "my teachers failed me" thing was very interesting, because that was a story that angered many people last year. Kristen, in the course of an interview with GQ UK, said, "School became genuinely uncomfortable… I was feeling a little self-conscious about the acting thing with my peers, but also my teachers became a problem. They didn't want to do the extra work or put packages together so I could keep up while away…They failed me. My teachers failed me. Not one, but all of them. I'm always slightly ashamed in a way, about what I do. I'm slightly embarrassed as I had such serious ambitions when I was younger, I just never imagined that I would ever have a reason not go to school. But then this happened." So she wasn't saying, "My teachers failed me as a person, because they weren't good people." She was failed. They literally flunked her and gave her Fs. That's interesting!

Brandi Glanville will probably be promoted to full-time cast member on ‘RHOBV’

Posted: 29 Apr 2012 06:09 AM PDT

I don't know how I missed these photos of Brandi Glanville- they're dated from March 29, and the event was "A Night of A Billion Reality Stars". I'm also including some photos of Brandi at the bottom of the post from her appearance on the red carpet premiere of Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked, also from March. Anyway, we have new Brandi Glanville news! Sources tell Radar that Brandi will be "promoted" to a fulltime cast member on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (nevermind that she doesn't actually live in Beverly Hills, right?).

The drama in the 90210 is about to really up the ante! Real Housewives of Beverly Hills resident bad girl, Brandi Glanville, has been given a promotion by Bravo executives and is now a full time castmember.

Filming began recently for season three of the hit franchise and Glanville, who had a minor role previously, is getting more than her fair share of the camera time.

“Producers love Brandi,” a source tells RadarOnline.com. “She’s gorgeous, she’s funny, outspoken and outrageous, she makes for great TV. They’ve offered her a full time role and she will be included in the promotional cast photos and will have her own introductory segment at the beginning of the credits. Brandi is absolutely thrilled. She’s been really popular on the show, even though she was just a minor castmember, and producers decided it was definitely worth giving her more air time.

“You can expect plenty of drama and ‘oh no’ moments! Brandi really knows how to bring it and she’s going to add some real glamour and sparkle to the new season.”

Brandi’s promotion isn’t the only change viewers can expect. As RadarOnline.com exclusively revealed, music mogul, David Foster’s fourth wife, Yolanda Hadid has signed up for the new season, replacing Kelsey Grammer’s ex-wife, Camille.

[From Radar]

Even though Bravo seems to be pushing this Yolanda Hadid person as the "new villain" after Camille got fired/quit, I tend to think that Brandi will probably become the person that people either love to hate or just plain love. CB just mentioned that it seems like the producers are trying to phase out Taylor Armstrong because viewers haven’t responded well to her story line (her late husband, money problems, etc). Of course, they may try to phase Taylor out because she’s a Botox-monster and that makes people uncomfortable. So, another option is that Brandi will become “the Taylor” of the show. In any case, Brandi has gotten a lot of press and attention for RHOBV, and it makes sense that producers want to increase her screen time and story lines. I hope that's what Brandi wants too.

LeAnn Rimes & Eddie Cibrian renewed their vows days after their first anniversary

Posted: 29 Apr 2012 06:07 AM PDT

Disappointment! I just glanced through LeAnn Rimes's Twitter, and besides one tweet confirming that she and Eddie Cibrian had renewed their vows, there's no explosion of photos and bragging tweets. I can't believe that LeAnn didn't tweet about every single little last detail about her vow renewal! I can't believe that there weren't a million photos! Is LeAnn learning how to keep it more toned down? GASP.

Game on, Will and Kate. LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian’s first wedding anniversary was last Sunday, April 22. But the country singer, 29, and actor, 38, waited until Friday to renew their vows in what appears to be a quiet, private affair.

“Renewed our vows today,” Rimes tweeted Friday. “It’s incredible to thank each other for the past year as husband and wife. Here’s to another great year!”

The couple, whose romance infamously began as an extramarital affair while they shot Lifetime flick Northern Lights in 2008, gifted each other lavishly last weekend for the milestone. Cibrian gave Rimes a huge ring, featuring a giant green gem encircled by diamonds, while she bestowed her man with a blinged-out watch. (“He loved it so much, he wore it to bed,” Rimes marveled.)

They began the celebration on Friday April 20 with a PDA-packed lunch at Toscanova restaurant in Calabasas, Calif.

Friday the 27th was a big day for vow renewals: Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon similarly re-pledged their love in Paris three days before their four-year anniversary. This Sunday, Prince William and Kate Middleton mark their first anniversary as a royal married couple.

[From Us Weekly]

We haven't talked about LeAnn since she was showing off her "anniversary present" – that hideous green ring which she was showing off on Twitter. That was incidentally the day in which one of our photo agencies, Fame/Flynet, conclusively proved that LeAnn is an idiot who calls the paparazzi for "candid" photo-ops with her step-sons – the photographers were waiting for her step-son's soccer game… but LeAnn had given them the wrong time. I want to think LeAnn has decided to tone it down a bit since then, but you know she hasn't. Whatever… LeAnn and Eddie renewed their vows. I'd feel bad for Eddie, but quite honestly, I've started to think that they're perfect for each other.
