Mariah Carey Stays Mum About Her Controversial Performance For Angolan President Dos Santos Posted: 20 Dec 2013 08:48 AM PST Mariah Carey is under fire--again--for performing for a country's leader who is known to anger human rights groups and is often called a dictator.  Details inside... A few days ago, Mariah headed to Africa to do performances in Nigeria and Angola.  But it was her performance for the Angolan President Josè Eduardo Dos Santos last Sunday that has pissed off several human rights groups. The Human Rights Foundation claims Dos Santos has murdered many and exploited the country's resources to his own gain.  And he reportedly used country resources to pay Mariah $1 million to perform a two-hour concert at an event for the Angolan Red Cross. Mariah was pictured smiling it up with the President and his family in pics posted by a publication's Facebook page. After MiMi performed for Libyan dictator Moammar Gadhafi five years ago, she caught hell then as well and later apologized saying she was embarrassed to be "caught up in that mess".   Maybe her heart was in the right place, but human rights groups aren't feeling any part of this "heart" or all that cash.  Especially since she has yet to comment.   Photos: Platina Line's FB

Kelly Rowland TURNS HEADS With Thigh-Baring Slit At "The X-Factor" Finale Party Posted: 20 Dec 2013 07:33 AM PST Fab chick alert!  Newly-engaged songstress Kelly Rowland turned heads on the grey carpet for "The X-Factor" wrap party.  See pics inside... The third season of X-Factor USA is a wrap!  One of the show's most popular judges, Kelly Rowland, turned heads on the red carpet at CBS Television City in LA for the finale and wrap party. Kelly wore a Balmain studded-leather bustier gown with a long slit that showcased those killer legs, Anthony Vacarello shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.  Chick is wearing engagement well. Earlier this week, Kelly revealed to Queen Latifah that her fiance, Tim Witherspoon, proposed via Skype!   At the judges' table, Kelly held hands with her colleagues Demi Lovato and Paulina Rubio.  No word yet on if Kelly's returning for another season.   Photos via Getty/lastnightpics IG

Beyonce Celebrates At Private Album Release Party in NYC + Gifts "Pre-Surgery Dance" Fan With Concert Tickets Posted: 20 Dec 2013 06:38 AM PST After her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour stop last night at the Barclay Center,  Beyonce trekked it from Brooklyn to Times Square to celebrate her album release at a private party at Dave & Busters.   Check out the pics and video inside, plus the sweet thing she did for one of her biggest fans...   Model Jessica White was on hand at the adult playground of Dave & Busters last night to party it up with the Queen Bey as she celebrated her Beyonce album release.  Bey even copped a record-inspired cake from the Cake Boss.   Bey walked in with her dancers looking hot as usual and snapped a cute pic with model Danii Phae.   And Ty and Lorraine Schwartz were there to celebrate as well. Sweet!   And speaking of her tour stop last night, Beyonce gave a mid-concert big kiss to the kiddie of another Queen in the game--Madonna's daughter Mercy James.  Friends in high places...   BONUS: Bey also just announced her new third fragrance RISE.  It's reportedly inspired by Maya Angelou's poem and it's just in time for the Holidays.  WWD says, "Beyoncé Rise is designed to go beyond the sensuality and electricity of her stage persona to reveal a bit more of her personality." RED CARPET EXCLUSIVE: Gabrielle Union Dishes On "BEING MARY JANE", Holiday Plans With Dwyane & More Posted: 20 Dec 2013 05:34 AM PST BET celebrated Gabrielle Union and "Being Mary Jane" cast with an A-list premiere party in LA this week.  And TheYBF.com was front and center for the hot event...and we also chatted up Ms. Union about some things we've been wondering about. See red carpet pics inside, and our chats with the cast.... Monday evening, TheYBF.com hit the red carpet in LA for the “Being Mary Jane” Premiere Screening in Los Angeles. We chatted exclusively with the series' star, Gabrielle Union, who looked sexy in a white Michael Kors jumpsuit. Gabrielle Union on holiday plans: The Laker game. My boyfriend plays [the Lakers] on Christmas. So I’ll be at the Laker Game. For New Year's we'll be out of the country. Just a quick trip.” On Christmas shopping for Dwyane's sons: I finished the little ones a while ago and I just finished the older one’s today actually. On what she expects to get from Santa: A lump of coal like usual. I keep asking for tube socks and he keeps giving them to me I should probably stop asking.” Did she get the new Beyonce album? Have I? Please! I was downloading the second it dropped!” On how the show depicts Mary Jane’s love life and its relation to her. It's one of the only projects I've ever seen when a single working woman is authentically portrayed in a brutally honest way. [My friends and I] have these conversations that are sort of played out on screen. The conversations that we have and the life that we live, the choices we make good or bad are never accurately depicted and you never see consequences. There are times when you love Mary Jane and times when you want to slap the piss out of her.   More pics from the premiere at Leonard H Goldenson Theatre: The show's fab creator Mara Brock Akil and BET's President Debra Lee posed it up with Gabby. We also chatted with Mara about her take on affairs and how women relate to the relationships in the show. In the film, David, (played by Stephen Bishop) is labeled as “Never Answer”. How can women relate to this relationship? “We've all had that one significant relationship that is the hurdle that we have to get over. You're always measuring, Do I go back to that? Or do I do better than that? Am I going to get something similar to that? It's the relationship that marks our adult relationships which we grapple with. Everybody has "the one." If your partner was having an affair would you want to know all the intimate details? When I wrote the scene, I thought what would I want to know. I want to know what's he's doing to you that he's not doing to me!   Essence Atkins walked the red carpet in brown Steve Madden pumps, ripped Zara jeans and navy blue Calvin Klein blazer. The "Mr. Box Office" star told us about why she loves supporting "Being Mary Jane".  Her besties are involved! "It stars two of my best friends, Gabrielle Union and Robinne Lee. We played sisters in Deliver Us From Eva. I'm just excited about the story about women, and a woman in particular, searching for love trying to find a balance in her profession. I think there's a lot of women that can relate to this, not just women of color but just women across the board. There's so many women doing so well and their personal lives are in need of resuscitation. This will take an honest look at those struggles and explore how we deal with them. It's going to be a fun journey to watch." And how is the mommy celebrating the Holidays? "My son is turning two on Christmas Day. I'm actually doing this thing that I'm kind of excited about. Instead of presents I'm having everyone give my son a letter kind of like a time capsule. Except this time capsule will be when he turns 18 so I'm not reading any letters and I just want the people to write something down that their hopes and dreams for him when he becomes a young man." Awww. Series star Robinne Lee told us on the red carpet about her character saying, "You’re going to expect a lot of drama. Some very juicy stuff. Really, really well written one hour drama with dynamic multilayered characters. The choices they make are unexpected, unique, and relatable." We also chatted with celebrity trainer Jeanette Jenkins, who trained Mara Brock Akil when she had her first son. "For Christmas I'm going to snowboard in Aspen. I'll be turning up on the mountain. For New Years Eve, I think I'm going to crash wherever Kelly is. She's performing. I'm going to be that homegirl. (laughs)"     Gabrielle posed with BET CEO Debra Lee and series star Margaret Avery.   Series star, Richard Roundtree was there.    Actor and comedian Affion Crockett supported the premiere. Reality star and funnywoman Kym Whitley was there. Earvin “Magic” Johnson and Cookie Johnson posed with Mara Brock Akil and husband, famed producer/director Salim Akil. Former "Kenan & Kel" star Kel Mitchell made a rare appearance. CUTENESS: Diddy Shows Off Fly Family Christmas Card With ALL His Kids Posted: 19 Dec 2013 02:20 PM PST Diddy is forever the doting daddy.  And he just posted a super cute photo--his family Christmas card.  Check it out inside... He's the father of six, and proudly puts his daddy skills on display for the world to see on social media.  Whether it's treating his twins to a girly fun day out or chillin' with his sons at a game, he seems to always bring the cuteness factor with all those Combs kids. So Mr. Combs, the head honcho of REVOLT TV, just posted his family Christmas card.  It was a black tie affair for Diddy, cutie Christian, D'Lila & Jessie (who turn 7 this Saturday), Quincy, Chance and Justin.  And we love seeing how much the kiddies have grown through the years. And that Justin & Quincy, who are now of age, are definitely some fine young men.  Cougars, retract those claws. Biopic Posted: 19 Dec 2013 01:45 PM PST   Nicki Minaj has shared two trailers from her big screen debut "The Other Woman."  Watch the clips inside and find out what famed director had been tapped for the N.W.A. biopic.    Nicki Minaj makes her big screen debut the upcoming Cameron Diaz flick The Other Woman. Directed by Nick Cassavetes, the film centers on Cameron's character getting revenge on her boyfriend after she learns that he's married. To get her revenge, she teams up with his wife! MODELICIOUS: Jessica White Keeps It Fab On A Maybelline Shoot Posted: 19 Dec 2013 01:18 PM PST Model Jessica White was on her job yesterday as she and her model friends filmed a new Maybelline commercial in Manhattan.  Check the pics inside...   Maybelline & swimsuit model Jessica White threw on a fur vest over her multi colored coat to hit up the NY water taxis on the Hudson River yesterday.  And it was all to film a new ad campaign for the beauty brand that she's been a face of for several years.   The tall and gorge 29-year-old model posed it up with the crew and had some fun with fellow models like 20-year-old Frida Gustavsson. Beyonce's Full "Grown Woman" Video + Rick Ross Ft. Jay-Z "Devil Is A Lie" Posted: 19 Dec 2013 12:13 PM PST While Beyonce has teamed up with Pepsi to release her full "Grown Woman" video, her husband Hov is appearing on Rick Ross' new track "Devil Is A Lie".  Peep both inside... Since Pepsi first debuted her "Grown Woman" track during their global 2012 campaign, it's only right their premiere her full video from the Beyonce album as well. Check out lil 'Yonce when she was a little girl dancing and singing around the house and how she grows up to the icon she is today.  A few of her fave ladies also make appearances as she super imposes herself into old home videos. Usher, Meagan Good, Gabby Douglas & Jaden Smith Hit "Justin Bieber's Believe" PREMIERE Posted: 19 Dec 2013 10:17 AM PST Usher, Meagan Good and more all came out to celebrate the premiere of "Justin Bieber's Believe" last night.  See purple carpet pics inside.... Usher was spotted on the purple carpet for the premiere of his protege's Open Road Film "Justin Bieber's Believe" at Regal Cinemas L.A. Live in Los Angeles. Usher introduced the music world to Justin Bieber a few years ago and he remains one of Justin's mentors and supporters.  Meagan Good showed up at the premiere in a pair of skinny overalls (which we're kinda loving) and flannel tied around her waist.  Looking real Cali with it... Meagan is starring with Will Ferrell in the new film Anchorman 2 (in theaters now). She posed with the new teen girl group she's managing called Phoenix Rose. Holly Robinson brought along her adorable kids, Robinson Peete, Ryan Elizabeth Peete, and Rodney Peete Jr.   US Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas was there.   Film star and Hollywood cool kid Jaden Smith struck numerous poses for fans. Drake Covers The VIBE 'Race' Issue + Kevin Hart Rocks Second Cover & Admits Failed Marriage Was HIS Fault Posted: 19 Dec 2013 09:50 AM PST Drizzy is VIBE's newest winter cover subject.  And the theme is the RACE issue.  Check out what Drake has to say about becoming King in 2013 and racial double standards.... Drake is fresh off his Would You Like A Tour? tour...and now he's covering the brand new issue of VIBE magazine. In the mag's ‘Race’ themed issue, the biracial rapper/singer/actor sits down with VIBE for his second cover and reveals how he feels about race, Kanye West, his success and the perception of him being soft. On people saying he's soft because he sings while spitting bars: “People fucking love to sing, that’s what I never forget.  But you can’t say my bars aren’t up there with the best of them. People keep challenging me about what real rap is. Is it the shit you know all the words to, or the shit that sounds fast and complex? I don’t have the answer. At the same time, I know I can do a couple things.” On race: “The racism I experienced was being Jewish. Jewish kids didn’t understand how I could be black and Jewish…it was just stupid, annoying rich kids that were close-minded and mean.” On Kanye West: “He’s like, the best…My competition is nobody else, by the way. It’s just me and ‘Ye.” On rap’s double standards: "Man, how come this guy is allowed to do this? How come this guy is allowed to talk about the streets? All he did was be around it, justlike me. He didn’t live it, but he’s allowed to talk about it. How come this guy is allowed to make girl records—love records—but they’re not girl records or love records when he does it?” I just have to step back and be like, because it doesn’t matter what those guys do. Whoever that is, it just doesn’t matter. They’re not important enough to be scrutinized like that. So it’s that feeling of accepting that I’m at the top and I don’t give them enough to talk about, so they have to make shit. No one ever loves that guy that’s on top." But Drake isn't the only cover subject.  Comedian Kevin Hart is rocking the second cover (due out soon).  And in his first cover story with VIBE, the Ride Along actor talks about why black comics seem more plagued with personal problems versus their white counterparts. He says, “It’s not just black people, white people too. Those who are true to their surroundings and themselves can maintain a sense of normalcy. I made my mistakes. I take my negative moments and find positive ones.” On his divorce: “My divorce was primarily my fault, and I take that on the chin…That was just not knowing how to say, ‘I don’t want to be in this relationship anymore’ and trying to continue a relationship while I was outside of it doing other things.” On Paula Deen: “She’s human, I don’t back what she did, but I definitely felt for her as all that shit was unfolding.” Kevin is also revealing his thoughts on Miley Cyrus, George Zimmerman and his meteoric rise to fame in the insightful cover story.  That should be interesting... The Race issue’s covers will be revealed on Vibe.com on December 18th and 19th. And print issues will be available nationwide in January.   The Randomness: 1.  Speaking of race, a "Duck Dynasty" star has been suspended from the show due to his comments about "gay" being a sin.  And his comments about blacks were equally as terrible.  He equated blacks to white trash and said blacks were "happy" during the civil war era.  Story 2.  The Breakfast Club is headed to REVOLT TV.  STORY
