BLACK CARPET PICS: Celebs Roll To The 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards

Posted: 02 Oct 2011 06:47 AM PDT

TheYBF.com hit the Black Carpet for last night's 2011 BET Hip Hop Awards.  And trust us, you didn't miss a damn thing if you weren't there.  But as always, we've got you covered on who hit the carpet.

Egos were big, outfits were horrible.  The usual.  Check out our photog Derek White's pics inside....

We won't spoil things in case you're planning on watching and tell you who won what (these Awards are taped).  But we do have a few spoilers at the end of the post about who performed.  Now for pics rom the somewhat disappointing black carpet at the Atlanta Civic Center.

The gorgeous Tracee Ellis Ross hit the carpet, of course, to pub her upcoming BET show "Reed Between The Lines."  She rocked a silver 3/4 sleeve soft shimmering mini dress.  And posed it up with her actor brother Evan Ross and his girlfriend.

Love the hair, hate the choice of fringed Louboutin boots with this dress.  Actually not loving the dress either.  Cheapens her usual chic and polished look.

Diamond thought Halloween came early in this all black look.

Not sure what she was going for....but this AINT IT.  A cheap taffeta/chiffon mix of maxi skirt with a cropped black leather jacket with red embellishments on the back and this blue tipped hair....and dark makeup....I just can't.

She kicked it with Fantasia's ex Young Dro.

Host Mike Epps hit the carpet with his wife Michelle.  Not loving this dress for her either but she's one of the only people who classed up the joint a bit.

Rick Ross, DJ Khaled and the Maybach Music Group folks hit the carpet together.

Shawty Lo rolled to the event looking pissed off.  Was this on purpose?

Oh Nelly....

Oh really El Debarge? Ok.

Da Brat hit the carpet in VERY good spirits (if you catch our drift).

The "Reed Between The Lines" kids (l-r) Nadji Peter, Zoe Hendrix, and Zoe Soul made an appearance.

Roscoe Dash looked his usual.

Still trying to figure out why Porscha Coleman hits every single carpet known to man.

Award recipient LL Cool J was there with his wife Simone.

He received an IAMHIPHOP award last night.

DJ Drama was there.

Twista hit the carpet.

Amar'e Stoudemire found his way to the ATL for some reason.

Toya's hubby Memphitz was there on the carpet.

Barry Floyd/Tee Tee was there.

Daryl Mitchell hit the carpet last  night.

Jeanette Jenkins rocked a cute black cocktail dress for the ocassion.

Not the whole Louis Vuitton Damier sweater and gold chain Ace Hood...

"Reed Between The Lines" co-star Malcolm Jamal Warner was there.

Busta, Spliff Star, and all their homies hit the carpet:

Feel like they just snapped a high school homecoming pic..

And Webbie made an appearance looking like he just stepped out of cell block D.

SPOILERS:  Here's a glimpse of who performed:

  • Opening Performance by Jeezy who brought out T.I. (Crowd went nuts.)
  • Lupe Fiasco with a live band. (He went Rock & Roll with a moving performance, but slightly weird.)
  • Wiz Kalifah (Half naked while performing as usual.)
  • Heavy D did a medley of his old songs. (Had the place on fire.)
  • Rick Ross, Wale, and the MMG performed.
  • LL Cool J was the I AM HIP HOP recipient. (He gave the an amazingly profound acceptance speech in the form of a poem. And challenged artists to think outside of the norm & reach for greater heights.)

NOW SHOOTING: Jaleel White Gets "STYLED BY JUNE AMBROSE" At Paul Stuart

Posted: 02 Oct 2011 05:30 AM PDT

Tv actor/director Jaleel White, who you know best as "Steve Urkel," stepped into the Juniverse yesterday as he allowed fab chick June Ambrose to refine his wardrobe for an episode of her upcoming VH1 reality show "Styled By June."  See pics of Jaleel and June at Paul Stuart inside.....

Yesterday, stylist to the stars, June Ambrose taped a segment for her VH1 show "Styled By June" at the Paul Stuart boutique on Madision Ave. in NYC.

For her show, June takes some of your favorite celebrities and creates three new iconic looks for them.  And Jaleel was one of her subjects.

With help from her assistant Eli Wasserman, June put the fab touches on Jaleel White.

Her first look for Jaleel was the "Classic Paul Stuart" which focuses on the silhouette.

The second look was more of a red carpet look-at-me look and featured a green suede safari shirt that I'm not loving.

The last look was June's spin on preppy and had the chocolate cords paired with a patterned blazer.

TV personality Mo Rocca also attended the event.  I wonder if June hooked him up too for the show. It's set to air February 2012.

PICS & DEETS: Kanye Debuts His Womenswear Line At Paris Fashion Week!

Posted: 01 Oct 2011 02:17 PM PDT

Celebs, designers, and fashion editors alike hit Kanye West's much anticipated Spring/Summer 2012 runway show during Paris Fashion Week tonight.

Pics and details from his debut inside...

Kanye made his rounds at London Fashion Week before heading to Paris to ready his own line.  It's the rapper's newest and one of his most talked about venture.  This is, though, his first womenswear line, after he designed a line of sneakers for Louis Vuitton and his now defunct line Pastelle.

He's kept the details of the line shroud in secrecy.  So everyone was on the edge of their seats tonight for the final show of the night.  Here's a preview of his runway show and Kanye taking his bow after his debut:

Chanel Iman walked in the show.

Ciara was there to support.  And looks from the runway:

Mr. West also had an unusual amount of other fashion designers on his front row: Alexander Wang, Joseph Altuzarra, Dean and Dan Caton of Dsquared, Jeremy Scott, and others.  Ciara and Tameka Raymond were also there.

While some folks gave the show and Kanye's designs rave reviews, not everyone loved it.  The Online Style Editor of the well- respected International Herald Tribune based in Paris, Jessica Michault, commented:

I think that every one of the designers sitting in the front row at Kanye West must have had a deja vue moment at some point during the show

The Kanye West show, in my humble opinion, is proof that everyone can love fashion but not everyone can be a fashion designer.

Ok ok... I will admit that I did like the shoes at the Kanye West show.

You feelin' it so far?

BALLERS GONE WILD! Gilbert Arenas Poses As A Cop + Dwyane Wade SNAPS At NBA Commissioner David Stern

Posted: 01 Oct 2011 01:53 PM PDT

We told you previously that Gilbert Arenas picked up Laura Govan from the airport dressed as a pimp....but it gets worse. Much much worse. His latest pre-Halloween outfit was "police officer" and he looked a mess!

See the pic inside and find out why Dwyane Wade snapped at commissioner David Stern during a recent NBA meeting about the lockout....

So now that Gilbert Arenas and Laura Govan are back together, the couple has begun dating again.

And like a giddy school girl, Laura tweeted about her excitement in a series of messages.  She walked her Twitter followers through her butterflies and the anticipation!

And then after a change of plans, she had to ditch Morton's and go pick him up!

According to Laura, when she rolled up, he was singing "Mrs. Officer, Mrs. Officer" and he was dressed as a cop.

And as you can see from the pic above....it was a mess!

Here's what Laura said:

SMH........

And about that NBA lockout.....

In the video above, a reporter breaks down the tense exchange between Dwyane Wade and NBA Commissioner David Stern during the NBA lockout talks.  Apparently, Mr. Stern was making a point and then gestured at Dwyane, which made D Wade feel as though he was being targeted.  So Dwyane yelled,

"You're not pointing your finger at me.  I'm not your child."

From there, it went downhill.  Several players nearly stormed out and it took a while before Mr. Stern and the rest of the NBA players present could cool off and continue the talks.  Sadly they didn't get that on tape.

Lawd......please end the NBA lockout soon! These fellas are wilin' out and need something to do!

MUSIC FAB: Tyrese's "Too Easy" Video Trailer Ft. Luda+Robin Thicke's "Love After War"

Posted: 01 Oct 2011 11:15 AM PDT

Tyrese is readying his third video off his upcoming Open Invitation album.  Check out a sneak peek of the video for his club (and car) banger "Too Easy" ft. Ludacris, plus Robin Thicke's latest track to hit the internet streets inside...

After dropping his previous videos for "I Gotta Chick" and "Stay," Tyrese is about to release his 3rd video off his upcoming Open Invitation (November 1st) album.  Here's the trailer for "Too Easy" ft. Ludacris above.

And the soulful Robin Thicke has been dropping new music pretty often these days.  His newest track to hit iTunes is "Love After War," the title track off his upcoming album of the same name dropping November 15th.  The animalistic song is all about how making love after a war of words and arguments is a natural (and good) part of a relationship:

Music site Idolator describes his new album saying:

The concept behind Thicke’s new album is based on the singer’s personal life the past two years, and his experiences becoming a husband and a father for the first time. (We thought his cover of “Let’s Stay Together” did that nicely too). The songs on the LP will follow the trials and tribulations of a married young couple working out their differences and starting their family.

Can't wait...

CATCH UP: The Michael Jackson Manslaughter Trial (WEEK 1 RECAP)

Posted: 01 Oct 2011 10:37 AM PDT

As Week 1 of Dr. Conrad Murray’s manslaughter trail comes to a close, it’s not looking too bright for the Doc’s future as he’s been painted as an irresponsible care-taker.

And most shockingly, one of the paramedics claimed if Dr. Murray would have made some different choices--like calling 9-1-1 immediately--the King of Pop would still be alive.  Get a recap of week one inside....

As murky details emerge in the death of Michael Jackson, it has all boiled down to the prosecution wanting the world to believe that MJ’s death was unnecessary and could have been avoided if Dr. Conrad Murray weren’t negligent.

It is argued that patient abandonment occurred since Michael’s heart stopped while Dr. Murray was not in the room.

And once Murray returned to the room, calling 911 was the LAST thing he did.  Maybe if he would have made the call first, according to a paramedic who took the stand this week, the King would still be alive.

Here are some notable points from the week:

  • The Defense argues that Michael Jackson took his own life as he self-injected a dose of Propofol that created a perfect-storm, resulting in his death.  They also argue that he died instantly and there was nothing that Dr. Murray could have done to save him.
  • The Prosecution (The State of California) argues Dr. Murray should be held criminally responsible for MJ’s death because of medical negligence and his reckless use of the surgical anesthetic propofol.  The coroner ruled that Jackson's June 25, 2009, death was the result of "acute propofol intoxication" in combination with sedatives.
  • It’s been revealed that Michal Jackson’s three children have no plans attended the trail as the details would likely be very painful to relive. However, Prince (the eldest) has said he would take the stand if need be.
  • Dr.  Murray is accused of misleading paramedics, mainly the emergency room doctor, Dr. Richelle Cooper, because he only “shared” that he gave Michel two doses of the sedative Lorazepam (and mentioned nothing about any other drugs or Propofol) Failing to mention anything about Propofol is a key issue in the case because the coroner ruled it played a major role in the death.
  • The paramedics say that they were with MJ for 42 minutes and NEVER saw any signs of life.
  • MJ’s bodyguard, Alberto Alvarez, said when he arrived in the bedroom, Michael’s eyes were open and he appeared to be dead. He was instructed by Dr. Murray to hide/dispose of several vials of drugs and all medicine from the nightstand BEFORE 911 was called.
  • Gallons of Propofol were ordered by Dr. Murray after Michael sounded lifeless while under the influence of the drug.

Perhaps the most shocking revelation of all was the photo of a lifeless King of Pop taken in the hospital.  As well as the sad and disturbing audio that Dr. Murray recorded on his phone (we still don't understand why this was done) of Michael as he was under the influence of the prescribed drugs.

The trial will continue Monday morning.
