Mary Harvey Says Steve Harvey Using Her To Sell Books And Promote His False Image, Avoids Wig Question

Posted: 01 Feb 2011 08:04 AM PST

If you host a morning show with an audience interested in ish like this, Mary Harvey is apparently still available for interviews.  Despite saying she was done speaking about this,  the ex-Mrs. Steve Harvey called into Power 105.1's "The Breakfast Club" to drop even more details about what really pissed off Steve, talking to her son Wynton and older son, and whether or not Steve Harvey used to wear a lacefront.  Get the deets inside...

Mary Harvey continues her talk show tour promoting what she says is the “real” Steve Harvey. With even more details, she called into “The Breakfast Club” to explain why she was silent for so long and what events caused her to break her silence.

On why she is breaking her silence:

“Essence Magazine was the breaking point. There was an article in January 2011. Essence Magazine and Steve Harvey brought me into this. What I refuse to do is let Essence and Steve Harvey muddy my name. They are supposed to represent the empowerment of women."

"What they could have done was say, ‘Steve we’ll do this article but we don’t think it’s necessary to bring Mary into this.’ After all, he is married to Marjorie. He says she saved him. She spiritually resurrected him. And my thing is…why don’t you get into that? You are coming up on four years of marriage…why are you still discussing Mary and all the pain she caused. And if he was in all this pain, why didn’t he divorce me? Why didn’t he leave me for her?”

On Steve using their old marriage promote his books and “newly spiritual” image:

She says she gets reports from family and friends, who listen to his show, about the subliminal shots he often sends her way. “Get off my back. He’s got 60 markets. I don’t know where he finds it in his schedule to address me at any point. If I had been blessed the way he’s been blessed after he did what he did to me, I’d be worried about paying that tab back to God. I seriously wouldn’t want to pick that check up in a spiritual way.

He is trying to promote these books off the back of ‘Look at what Mary did to me….poor Steve.  And look at how this woman (Marjorie) saved me and brought me back to God. So buy my book!’  It’s all a platform…that’s all it ever was."

On what Steve is REALLY angry about:

Mary says Steve is upset that she reached out to Oprah via telephone after Steve began making appearances on her talk show. Once Mary began to reveal her side of the story to Oprah, Ms. Winfrey and the OWN Network (who had offered him a talk show) began to distance themselves from the comedian. That didn’t go over well with the Harvey team.

On talking to her son(s):

She says Steve was also the stepfather to her first child, who was 4-years-old when they got together. Her firstborn is now 26 and has been disowned by Steve because he wouldn’t get with the program and back Steve in his lies. Also, she has recently spoken to her son Quinton over the phone. She still feels like Steve has purposely driven a wedge between them and when he does call her, his calls are monitored by someone in Steve’s camp.

On her former personal assistant Jocelyn:

She actually confirmed much of what we previously posted. She says she was irrational and unpredictable but it was because of the stress that Steve’s team put her under. She mentions that she was a good employer and even gave Jocelyn paid maternity leave, although she had only worked for her for a few months. She also says she sold Jocelyn a $275,000 home for $2 during the time of her employment because she and Steve didn’t need the property.

In her opinion, Jocelyn is speaking out because she is being paid under the table by Steve. Mary says they had a confidentiality agreement and she can’t understand why Jocelyn wants to throw her under the bus.

On Steve possibly wearing a lacefront wig:

When the morning hosts asked about Steve’s hairline….or lack thereof, she began to laugh before exiting the interview saying, “Oh well look at the time (laughing)…I have to go and finish my breakfast.”

Whew...I know people have been throwing her shade for speaking out. But I have to say, the more I listen to her, she gets more and more "believable" with each interview.  Sue me for believing what actually goes down quite often in the real AND celebrity world. Almost ready for my TEAM MARY shirt. I said ALMOST....

Halle Berry Drops Out Of "New Year's Eve" Film, Says She Doesn't Trust Gabe With Nahla's Well-Being

Posted: 01 Feb 2011 06:37 AM PST

The fight for custody of baby Nahla Aubry is heating up.  Mom Halle Berry, who is currently dating her recent Dark Tide movie co-star Olivier Martinez, has reportedly been replaced in a big comedy film she was recently cast for.  And her rep says Halle pulled out because she needs to focus on getting custody of her 2-year-old baby girl.

Details on the impending custody battle when you read on...

Halle Berry's rep put out a statement saying the seasoned actress has dropped out of the upcoming New Year's Eve comedy movie, also starring fellow Hollywood bigwigs Zac Efron, Josh Duhmel, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jessica Biel, Seth Meyers, Robert DeNiro, and Hilary Swank.

Gabriel Aubrey, Nahla's dad and Halle's ex, is going hard with the custody battle and Halle needs more time to focus on what really matters to her.  Especially because Halle says she is concerned for the well-being of her child if Gabe, who has not been cooperating, cares for her for an extended period of time.  Damn.

The statement from her rep:

"Halle Berry was forced to pull out of a film production in New York this week due to pending custody litigation involving her daughter. She has attempted to resolve these custody issues amicably with her daughter’s father, Gabriel Aubry, directly, but given his lack of cooperation, Halle has no choice but to seek swift judicial intervention.

"Halle has serious concerns for her daughter's well-being while in the care of her father for any extended period of time and is prepared to take all necessary steps to protect her."

"Halle has always made the needs and safety of her daughter her first priority and, both while Halle and Gabriel were a couple and since their break-up, Halle has only acted in her daughter’s best interest."

Halle has since been replaced in the movie by actress Katherine Heigel.  The film is regarded as being a sequel to Marshall's successful 'Valentines Day', which grossed over $110 million at the box office.

The Randomness:

1.  Speaking of splitsville court battles, the Dream and Christina Milian are still duking it out in court.  And now Christina is demanding more money than the 10% publishing rights of Justin Beiber's "Baby"--which The Dream wrote and receives money for.  Story

Meagan Good Parties In The ATL

Posted: 31 Jan 2011 03:37 PM PST

YBF chick Meagan Good was spotted out partying in Atlanta and we have pics inside of Meagan rocking her down South club outfit...

We are so used to Meagan rocking her denim blue jean shorts in airy LA.  But what does one wear when partying down South?

When you go to Georgia, you switch it up and wear a lighter fabric with ripped stockings.

Besides appearing on "The Game," Meagan has been busy working with her new singing group H.E.L.L.O. Girls.

She was surrounded by friends and seems to be having a good time in the ATL.

NEWS: Egypt Protests Hit Fever Pitch, Obama Administration Evacuates First Group Of Americans

Posted: 31 Jan 2011 11:04 AM PST

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

In case you have been under a rock, ish is getting real in Egypt.  We've got the latest update as The Obama Administration began evacuating Americans out of Egypt today as civil unrest in the country shows no signs of coming to an end.  And we're telling you why you should care.  Get the deets inside...

With residents of Egypt effectively cut-off from communication with the outside world, the Obama Administration has charted two planes to evacuate American citizens out of Egypt and into nearby Cyprus. With what experts predict will be a length evacuation effort, nearly 220 Americans have already left Egypt with the US State Department reporting that there are 2,400 other Americans in the country who have asked to be evacuated.
This large scale evacuation effort comes as widespread demonstrations against the Egyptian government have led to clashes between protesters and police, looting, and other causes for alarm.
The demonstrations stem from civil unrest from the citizens wanting 82-year-old President Hosni Mubarak to step down. He has spent more than 30 years in power, and his reign has been tainted by charges of police brutality, large scale poverty, government corruption and fights among Christians and Muslims, has handed over power to his son.  The people of Egypt want a drastic change in the well-being of their country, but likely won't get that if Mubrak hands power to his son as rumored to happen, and power stays in the same family's hands.  The more true it becomes his son, Gamal, may take over, the more the unrest rages.
They also are pushing for a fully democratic nation.
When rumors that the ailing president was grooming his son to take over began to surface, public opposition reached all time highs with citizens calling from democratization and respect for their human and civil rights.
Outside of the sometimes violent protests seen around the world, residents of Egypt have virtually no alternative means of communication as their parliamentary elections in November were widely decried as fraudulent, and now Egypt has ordered nearly all of the country's internet service providers shut down.  The government first shut down Twitter and Facebook so the citizens had no way to relay what was really happening in their country--and to stifle the real stories from getting out.  Could you imagine this happening in America--a fully democratic nation ourselves? Is it possible?
Leaving only the Noor Group in operation (which covers about 8% of the market), most residents of Egypt have been cut off from communication with the outside world.  This was mainly done as protests organizers are accused of using social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter to rally supporters.
Although the U.S. government has not learned of any Americans being targeted or hurt in the protests, the State Department recommends U.S. citizens limit their movements and avoid protests if they don't plan on leaving the country.

As for America's position on Mubarak's reign, neither Barack Obama nor US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton have declared a definite position publically.
