Nas Cancels Performance Because of The Flu! + Chops It Up With Angie Martinez About Grammy Snubs & Being Back With Kelis...As Friends! Posted: 11 Jan 2013 09:18 AM PST It's been taking down the nation at crazy rates this year.  Now, the flu has hit Queens fella Nas and he had to cancel his performances today.  But we've got his interview with Angie Martinez from last night inside.... Nas was set to perform on "Live With Kelly & Michael" this morning.  But canceled when he had to go to the hospital after feeling sick last night.  And his people tol the show's co-hosts that he indeed has the stomach flu.  Before you get your chicken soup ready to go "nurse" him back to health, check out some highlights from his interview with Angie Martinez on Hot 97 last night for her b-day. Mr. Jones dished on his current relationship status with ex-wife Kelis as they've been spotted together pretty often, his relationship with his daughter Destiny, a new album, and more. On his and ex wife Kelis' current relationship We're back together...as friends.  We were not friends for a long time. It was crazy  We recently became...you know.  We're not together, but we're friends now. I didn't want to piss her off too much with the [green] dress.  But she handled it like a trooper.  I even kinda said, "Yo...should we try this again?" [laughs]  I'm like, 'Wow'. You have a child....you know how it is.  I'm glad to be in that place.  I don't want no beef. On daughter Destiny My daughter's good, she's in college.  When I did the NYE show at Radio City, I had this song "Daughters" and my daughter is there.  After the show we jump into this spinner van.  Everybody's happy and going crazy and partying.  And I'm zonign because I just did all thse personal records on that stage.  I'm kinda ready to put it away now.  I got it out my system.  My daughter was cool with it, she went through her moments.  She knows me.  This is real and we already dealt with it.  When I did the record, I just did it.  I didn't know it would be a single or make the album.  I just did it because it was bothering me.  I was just trying to e a father and I hadn't always been the best.  I kinda took it out in her because I was mad.  But she's good.  But that's my princess and she's been the person why I do all this. On getting 18 Grammy nods and no wins 18 nominations?  That's a lot of nominations.  At least they recognize a little bit.  It's all good though.  I don't feel tight about it at all. It's an honor for me to even have nominations." On if he agrees with CNN naming him the Greatest Hip Hop Lyricist EVER "Yeah. Yeah kinda. [laughs] At first I was cringing.  But the way he broke down the article...it is what it is man." On his GAP ad with his dad Shout to the Gap and shouts to my Pops for being an OG.  We got booked for it and had a good time.  He was great and the life of the party during the whole shoot.  Everybody was liking him and loving him.  It was good time.  that's my guy right there for sure We were always close.  We didn't always live together...there was the separated homes and my mom raised me and my brother.  But he was there and he was always around.  The fact that we had a relationship that also comes from music too, that was just a blessing to me to show the world. On working on a new album, a follow up to Life Is Good Something has erupted in me.  What's next to come is crazy.  The zone I'm in right now is so right and I'm happy to be in the place I'm at right now to make music.  I don't know what got in to me, but I love it.  I'ma take advantage of the zone I'm in to record music.  I feel like Ali.  I feel like going on.  I started putting together the base of it so I'm ready.   Life seems GOOD indeed for Nas.  Check out the full interview below in the studio (being his usual cute self):   The rapper is set to give an exclusive concert in Times Square next week, sponsored by Hennessy.

With her smartphone in her hand, 9-year-old actress Quvenzhané Wallis stole the hearts of viewers as she accepted her Critic's Choice Award for Best Young Actor/Actress last night. Thanks to Mr. Benh Zeitlin and the Court 13 family for thinking I could make a good Hushpuppy. Lastly, to my family, friends and fans—good night!', Quvenzhané, a native of Houma, LA, stars in Beasts of the Southern Wild.  It's a film that explores how a young girl uses her fantasies to cope with living in a community separated from the Louisiana mainland after Hurricane Katrina. She was chosen by director Benh Zeitlin from a pool of 4,000 hopefuls (she auditioned at the age of 5) and has gone on to make history as the youngest person in history to be nominated for a Best Actress Academy Award. And now that she's signed on to star opposite Brad Pitt in a new historical drama called Twelve Years a Slave, and has the attention of famed directors like Steven Spielberg, Quvenzhané is one of Hollywood's brightest stars. And about that Oscar nomination for Best Actress she just received, the cutie told USA Today: "It's exciting, this is special.  I'm going to celebrate with pizza, chicken and waffles and good stuff." SNEAK PEEK: Karrueche Tran Channels Yoko Ono For "ROLLING OUT" Posted: 11 Jan 2013 08:00 AM PST   Karrueche Tran posed for ROLLING OUT Magazine recently where she channeled her icon Yoko Ono in a sultry photoshoot.  Check out a sneak peek and video teaser from the spread inside....   She's prepares to make an impact on the fashion industry with her fashion label "The Kill" (which she was originally commissioned by Chris Brown to start as the female counterpart to his Black Pyramid label). Karrueche Tran is stepping out in a big way as she's set to cover an upcoming issue of ROLLING OUT Magazine. No longer comfortable with being in the shadow of ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, Karrueche seems to be opening herself up a lot more to the media in an effort to establish herself as a "brand" and not just a side chick. Kenya Moore Is Trying To Be A Pop Star, Y'all....Her NEW Song Is "Gone With The Wind Fabulous" Posted: 11 Jan 2013 07:22 AM PST Here we go again.  Another non-singing "Housewife" is following the Bravo reality show playbook and releasing a song.  Kenya Moore is the latest to partake in the "business move" of trying to become a singer.  And we've got her brand new song "Gone With The Wind Fabulous" inside... It's clear Kenya Moore went on "Real Housewives of Atlanta" with a mission to to turn nothing into something.  Seeing that she's not married, apparently doesn't even have a boyfriend, and only moved to ATL for this show...seems like she was simply creating a fake life to be on the show. Now it's clear why NeNe Leakes said on the "Wendy Show" that Kenya's threatening the "authenticity" of the brand. But we digress.  Kenya has now hopped on the Bravo Housewife Singer train and is releasing a track.  It's called "Gone WIth The Wind Fabulous."  Of course. When one of her followers Tweeted her if this was real, she responded, "yes hunty and a ringtone #twirl!" Of course. Andy Cohen debuted the track (which is actually just Kenya speaking over a beat) on "Watch What Happens Live" last night with his co-hosts Tatyana Ali & T-Boz.  Check it below:   The song hits iTunes on Sunday.  And Kenya will be "performing" her debut song on Andy's show that night.  Who's buying it?

MUSIC FAB: Azealia Banks Confirms New Track With Beyoncé Posted: 11 Jan 2013 06:44 AM PST While Beyonce was walking on the beach in the Bahamas with Blue this week, her biggest fan Azealia Banks revealed that they worked on a new track together for Bey's upcoming album.  Get the deets inside... Rapper Azealia Banks, who has been embroiled in Twitter war after Twitter war lately, shared some interesting news in a new interview.  Ms. Banks did a Skype-like live interview with ASOS yesterday, the clothing empire where she's serving as the current spokesmodel.  And she dropped the little nugget that not only was Beyonce working on her new album in Miami a few weeks ago....but Azealia rapped on one of the tracks. "I actually did something for her record in Miami a couple weeks ago. I really didn't want to say it because I didn't want to jinx it. You know how that sh*t goes. It's like, once you do someone's on someone's record, you just have to wait. If they want to use it, they use it. Even the fact that I was considered to rap on a Beyonce track...." Rumors have been swirling that Lady Gaga and Beyonce are hooking up again for another collabo--a "part 2" of sorts of their Telephone track.  And  the song could be GaGa's "Ratchet" track she's been hinting about lately.  And that happens to be a track Azealia helped her write.  Could this be the big collabo Azealia's speaking of?  Time will tell.... COLORFUL CAST: Kerry Washington SHIMMERS In WHITE, Jamie Foxx Goes Purple For London's "Django Unchained" Premiere Posted: 10 Jan 2013 09:07 PM PST Fresh off the movie's Oscar nominations, Kerry Washington was a vision in white alongside her co-stars at Thursday night's London premiere of Django Unchained.  Check out the cast's range of looks in bright colors for their big night....   We can't love this look for Kerry anymore than we do.  This stunning white sleeveless dress from the Giles Spring 2013 collection was indeed a jawdropper at Thursday night's premiere in London.  The gown flaunted a long train and bubble hem printed with horses and watercolors....and we love it. She walked into Empire Leicester Square in her fave white Lobooutin pumps and a dark lip with vintage Hollywood curls.  Kerry stood between Mr. Jackson and an extra colorful Jamie Foxx.  Purple mixed with aqua blue?  Gotta love his fashion forwardness of it all... I don't spend a lot of time getting ready. I don't need the bubble baths or anything to get my look together. How do you ensure that you look sexy while doing mundane things like running erands and housekeeping? When I'm cooking, I'll wear a sequined apron. When I'm running errands, I'll rock a loose, fitted shirt with skinny jeans, cute flat shoe and shades. When I travel, I'll bring as few bags as possible! Who do you look up to for fashion inspiration? My style icons are Jackie O., Michelle Obama, Beyoncé and J.Lo because they all have such great style. How does your style differ from twin sister's? Our styles are similar. We can actually shop for each other. What do you love about wearing hats? When you walk around with a hat, it makes me feel secure. I love the secludedness. You can feel like you're peeping out. What kind of bags do you like to carry on a daily basis? I am so versatile. I'm not into one brand or shape. I'm very easy. What's your philosophy on accessorizing with jewelry? I always wear statement jewelry. Sometimes, I'll wear more than one statement jewelry. I break all the rules with everything. What has been your most memorable splurge ever? A few years ago, I went to the Versace store in Las Vegas. The store was locked down and we shopped. Everyone was standing on the outside of the store and we purchased anything and everything that we absolutely wanted inside the store. I loved everything I got—dresses, bags, shoes, belts, everything! What are your tips for busy moms who want to look sexy? For moms who feel like they've lost it, turn to the Style Network, look at some magazines, find fashions that are in your comfort zone. Don't try to look too edgy like the young girls. Find out what works for you, like a pencil skirt with a flat boot. Create your ownlook that's safe for you depending on how old your children are. If you have a 1-year-old or 2-year-old, you don't want heels. You don't always have to have a face full of makeup. Get a tinted moisturizer and rub a pea size in your hand. That makes everything look different. Also, always keep your hair done. What's your signature scent? Creed and the Bonds. You don't have to stick to one scent. Creed and Bond have a variety of scents, and I mix them. They blend very well. You can mix and match and no one will know what you have one except you! You're creating your own scent. I should say that my favorite scent is my scent called Tu La 2. We launched it seven or eight years ago. We're revisiting it right now. We're meeting with the chemist to mix it as we speak. It will be under the lines of Creed and Bond—something woodsy, not too fruity. Do you like to collect anything in terms of fashion? I collect sunglasses. That's my thing. My husband and I love sunglasses. It depends on the occasion. We have a nice collection. My husband gave some away, so we probably have 80 pairs now. We normally have hundreds of them. We have a display and we put some up and my husband has some in his drawer. Do you collecting anything for your home? Butterflies! I have a connection with butterflies. I was pregnant once, miscarried and everything was decorated for my baby with butterflies, so I just continued that on for about 10 years. I don't display it. I may have cards with butterflies. I may have a scarf with butterflies. There are a few butterfly pieces in my china cabinet. There may be a few jewelry pieces with a butterfly on it. It's very private. I especially love my crystal butterfly Christmas ornament. I put it up every year on my Christmas tree. Any advice to women who want to be a successful entrepreneur? Ciara and RAPPER Future DINE OUT In Beverly Hills Posted: 10 Jan 2013 02:23 PM PST "Got Me Good" singer Ciara was seen dining out in Beverly Hills with rapper Future.  And with rumors of the two former collaborators now dating, we can only wonder if this was a more-than-friends lunch.  See pics of the two inside....   Ciara was seen walking into the popular Beverly Hills eatery Crustacean yesterday with rapper Future.  You might recall that Future lent his voice to her "Sorry" (Remix) a few months ago.  And rumor has it the two have taking their work relationship....a bit more personal.  No confirmation on that yet though... LOCKED UP: Pittsburgh Steelers BALLER Chris Rainey ARRESTED For SLAPPING Girlfriend (UPDATE) Posted: 10 Jan 2013 01:23 PM PST Pittsburgh Steelers running back Chris Rainey was arrested for slapping his girlfriend in the face during an argument this morning. Find out more about the arrest inside....   Chris Rainey, a running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers was charged with one count of simple battery this morning after he allegedly slapped his girlfriend in the face.   Police in Gainsville, Florida say witnesses called 911 after seeing Chris and his girlfriend involved in a tussle which included a face slap.  Witnesses say the fight began over Chris' cell phone which his girlfriend apparently snatched away from him before she tried to lock herself in his rommate's car.   Chris yanked her out of the car and allegedly slapped her face during a tussle that ended with both of them falling to the ground.  Although the girlfriend managed to escape, she was grabbed by Chris again and both of them fell to the ground a second time.  The police added that neither of them seemed visibly injured from the tussle, but Chris was still taken into custody.  We'll keep you posted..... *UPDATE* (January 11, 2013) Despite scoring two touchdowns for the organization this season, TMZ reports that the Pittsburgh Steelers have fired Chris Rainey from the team after allegations surfaced that he assaulted his girlfriend yesterday.

PAGEANT FAB: YBF Chick Nana Meriwether CROWNED Miss USA 2012! Posted: 10 Jan 2013 12:10 PM PST Fab chick Nana Meriwether, previously Miss Maryland 2012, went on to assume the title Miss USA 2012 yesterday during a special ceremony held at Trump Tower.  Find out more about the pageant queen inside.... Nana Meriwether, a 27-year-old South African beauty, was crowned Miss USA 2012 yesterday during a ceremony held at Trump Tower in New York City.  Nana, who represented the state of Maryland in the 2012 Miss USA pageant, was originally first runner-up in the competition but assumed the title thanks to Olivia Culpo's big win at the Miss Universe 2012 pageant. Donald Trump, who owns the Miss Universe organization, commented on the extraordinary women who compete in the pageant saying, "They're brilliant, they're really into charity and the world of charity, and they're phenomenal people. They're very solid. In many cases, they went to the best colleges. In the case of Nana, she was a great athlete—a volleyball player [at UCLA]. " In fact, the word "great" might be an understatement as Nana was a "two-time NCAA All-American, a Collegiate Volleyball Update Player of the Year and a holder of three national NCAA women’s volleyball records" at UCLA. She also played professional volleyball in Puerto Rico and trained for the 2008 Olympics. Nana, who also posed with fellow YBF chick Miss Teen USA Logan West, has taken both the LSAT and the MCAT and is currently applying to medical schools while assuming the role of Miss USA and running The Meriwether Foundation, which supports AIDS/HIV clinics schools and orphanages in five African countries.     And there's an interesting reality tv tie-in to Nana's win as many folks have commented that she looks a lot like "RHOA" star Cynthia Bailey who had a famous run-in with former Miss USA Kenya Moore.  Kenya even tweeted about Nana's win....   And in case you missed it, watch Miss USA Nana Meriwether on "TODAY" here:   Congrats to Miss USA Nana Meriwether!

Beyoncé On The Set Of Sunny Bahamas Shoot, New DESTINY'S CHILD "Love Songs" Album On The Way Posted: 10 Jan 2013 11:41 AM PST   Beyoncé is working her curvy ass off these days.  She used any downtime she had during daughter Blue Ivy's Bahamas birthday trip to do a sunny shoot of her own.  We've got a quick sneak peek at the supermom inside, plus details about a brand new Destiny's Child album on the way... On the hot islands of the Bahamas, Beyoncé Knowles put on her working mom hat to rock a new shoot this week.  And we wouldn't be surprised if birthday girl Blue was off playing UNO with Papa Hov or one of her aunties.  The "Love On Top" chick was spotted in a colorful mixed print bustier and shorts look with a flower in her hair, posing in front of lighting and camera tools.  It's unclear whether this was a video shoot of some kind, a photoshoot, or a new magazine shoot.  But it's clear Bey is planning an all out sting for 2013. *UPDATE* Thanks to a tweet (that wa slater removed) from one of Beyonce's dancers, it's believed this shoot was for a new H&M campaign.  Will Queen Bey become the new face of the low cost/high quality clothing empire?  Time will tell...   On her website today, Bey wrote a note to fans saying, "I am so proud to announce the first original Destiny's Child music in eight years!" Yep....a new Destiny's Child album is on the way.  And it's called Love Songs. It is mainly a compilation of "romantic gems" recorded between 1997 and 2004, reportedly they will be unreleased tracks.  Love Songs will also feature "Nuclear," the first new Destiny's Child song since 2004. SPOTTED: Diddy & Cassie HOUSEHUNTING In Bevery Hills...TOGETHER! Posted: 10 Jan 2013 11:03 AM PST Diddy and Cassie were seen in Beverly Hills yesterday where they appeared to be shopping for a home.  See pics from their real estate hunt inside.... It looks like Kim and Kanye aren't the only couple locking down their relationship with a new mansion as media mogul Diddy was seen leaving an appointment with a Beverly Hills real estate agent yesterday. What's interesting is that Cassie (who's working on a mixtape called Rock-a-Bye-Baby) joined Diddy at the same appointment, but made sure to walk out a few steps after him on their search for a new home together. Since they went through so much trouble to avoiding being photographed together, we wonder if Diddy getting ready to settle down? Photos via Splash

OH NO SHE DIDN'T: Keyshia Cole BLASTS Estranged Sister Neffe For BASHING Her In Her BOOK Posted: 10 Jan 2013 09:45 AM PST Singer Keyshia Cole is seeing red and accusing her sister Neffe Pugh of bashing her in her second book Price I Paid. Get the details inside....   Woman To Woman singer Keyshia Cole seems to be at odds with certain family members after a series of tweets revealed a rift among the siblings.  Keyshia first tweeted a series of rants (seemingly aimed at sister Neffie) saying, "How many of y'all have leaches in your own family? I need to know I'm not alone! Bitch talk about me in ya book and wearing the shoes I gave u on the cover? Fucking Bogus! �� Gotta keep munch man from all that drama tho. It's not coo like that"  Those tweets referred to Neffe's last book, Price I Paid, where she recounts the impact appearing on reality tv (“The Way It Is” & “Frankie & Neffe”) had on her life and how going on to do "Frankie & Neffe" without Keyshia's consent produced a big strain among the sisters.  But clearly....Keyshia didn't want Neffe to share that infomation with the public. Neffe spoke to The Breakfast Club about the rift saying, “Keyshia did not want us to do a reality show period because she wanted it to be done in the right way, and I respect her whole-heartedly for that. Everybody out there was looking at our family like we had no control, no morals, no principles, no values, like we were uneducated. She didn’t want that.” Keyshia's Neffe rant was later followed by a tweet that was aimed at their mom Frankie...   Unfortunately, outside of Keyshia's very controlled portrayal of her life on "Keyshia & Daniel: Family First," it seems there are still family members keeping up drama in her life. But ironically, it's the "drama" that draws Keyshia's fans to both her and her music. Best of luck to Frankie and all of her kids. We'll be watching... *UPDATE* Keyshia recently did an interview with Cleveland's 107.9 station.  And she revealed that she and Neffe, despite growing up together, would constantly fight as adults.  Even after the award shows Keyshia would bring the family to.  Keyshia said it's going ot take miracle...or Oprah...to help them get to the root of the problem.
