Halle Berry & Gabriel Aubry Declare A Ceasefire As Custody Battle Continues Posted: 16 Feb 2011 09:49 AM PST In one of the nastiest custody battles we've seen played out in the media, Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry have called a ceasefire. Though the two have not worked out all their differences, the pair has agreed to stop washing their dirty laundry in public. Deets inside...
According to RadarOnline.com, a source close to the situation says that Halle Berry and baby father Gabriel Aubry will attempt to handle their custody issues in private and peacefully. The past few months have clearly taken a toll on both Halle and Gabriel as accusations have been flying back and forth between both camps. While sources close to Halle claimed Gabriel was verbally abusive and used the "N" word, those close to Gabriel claimed Halle was controlling, manipulative and prone to tantrums. Either way, both parties came out looking bad in the public eye.
The source also said that Halle and Gabriel have resumed speaking and Halle will not seek sole custody of Nahla. In fact, part of the ceasefire was that Halle would give Gabriel more access to his daughter. But what about all those negative things printed about Gabriel in the press? A source close to him said,
Hopefully this situation will have a postive ending. I am happy they will be dealing with their issues in a closed court setting, because this dirty laundry can't be good for Nahla.

WEDNESDAY CANDIDS: Zoe Saldana, Kimora Lee Simmons & Djimon Hounsou, And LaLa Vazquez Out And About Posted: 16 Feb 2011 08:09 AM PST We have your Wednesday roundup of candids. Come inside to see Zoe Saldana, Kimora Lee Simmons & Djimon Hounsou, and LaLa Anthony doing their things in LA and New York.
Zoe Saldana was spotted texting on her way to Real Food Daily in West Hollywood today yesterday. I love her look. Just cute, casual, sexy and sophisticated all at once. Zoe was recently in London where she was an attendee the British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs) on Sunday.
Later she met up with some friends for lunch.
In Beverly Hills... Kimora Lee Simmons and Djimon Hounsou were spotted having lunch at II Pastaio restaurant.
This couple seems to eat out to lunch every day. I guess they only use the personal chef in the evening. Must be nice. In New York,
LaLa was spotted visiting Cozy's Cuts For Kids.
I wonder who LaLa is buying all these toys for?
Maybe someone in her BFF circle is expecting? Hmmm. Photos via WireImage/Nunez/Beiny/Fu/Wenn/Stefan/INFphoto.com |

NYC FASHION WEEK ROUNDUP: Dwight, Kanye, Gabby, Rachel Roy, & More Do the Shows At Lincoln Center Posted: 16 Feb 2011 04:07 AM PST NY Fashion Week is almost over. And the celebs have been getting in their last few shows. We've got pics of the 6th ATL Housewife Dwight Eubanks, plus Gabby Union, Rachel Roy, and which cape Andre Leon Talley decided to go with, when you read on...
Oh Dwight. The "hairstylist" we all know and love hit up the Edwing D'Angelo Fall 2011 Fashion Show last night at Limelight Marketplace. It was off-site from Lincoln Center, but we hear the masses were breaking their necks trying to get to, talk to to, and snap pics with, Dwight. This all white 20 piece suit... Rachel Roy showed off her brand new line at Lincoln Center yesterday.
Celeb stylist June Ambrose made her rounds: She hit the front row of Betsy Johnson's show with friends Miss Jay and Robert Verdi. And then hit up the Tracy Reese show with Veronica Webb. YBF designer Ms. Reese herself grabbed a refreshment at her show. And put together a funky look for some other shows as well.
Gabby Union was spotted leaving the scene at Lincoln Park after taking in some shows. Oh Mr. Talley. While he sat front row at Donna Karan with his counterpart Anna Wintour, he rocked about 3 different outfits at once. Many things. And he and his bestie/client Whoopi hit up the Chado Ralph Rucci show as well. Anika Noni Rose hit the front row of Pamela Rolland's show. Diesel Black and Gold fans Keri Hilson and Wyclef hit up the show. Cute look for Keri. Mr. West looked unimpressed with the pomp and circumstance of it all. He sat front row at Rodarte. Fab chick and new "Gossip Girl" Tika Sumpter rocked a cute Alice + Olivia dress dress to their show.
And Miss Jay was spotted around Lincoln Center sporting many-a-looks for the Monique Lhuillier show and more. He also kicked it with Al Roker's wife Deborah and daughter. Fab times. |

MORE VH1 REALITY FOOLERY: What Is This Ish Elgin Charles? Posted: 15 Feb 2011 02:55 PM PST I've been hearing about this new VH1 reality show called "Beverly Hills Fabulous" for a while now. But I had no clue it would be this foolywangish.
Please read on for the supertrailer starring none other than the master weave dealer, salon owner, and hair stylist himself, Elgin Charles. Yes....he was that dude in Chris Rock's Good Hair movie. I feel like VH1 execs had a big meeting at their office a year or 2 ago and concocted the biggest plan in tv history to single handedly make the black American community synonymous with modern day coonery and tomfoolery. So the newest addition to the Viacom owned channel's line-up is "Beverly Hills Fabulous." It's a "reality show" documenting the salon and life of L.A. hair stylist Elgin Charles. And, of course, his whole cast of salon worker characters. Peep the brand new super trailer above that just came out today. Elgin was also the sleekly permed hairstylist on Chris Rock's Good Hair who broke down how and why he buys his hair from the weave dealer. Now, he's got his own reality show giving us an inside peek into the laughs and drama of his salon. Given that he styles celebs like Vivica Fox and Star Jones from time to time, I'm figuring this dude is more legit than his show is putting on. This show looks all kinds of fake and contrived and there just seems to be a lot going on. I'm baffled by why Jackee is making an appearance (even though she is Elgin's ex-wife), Shaunie O'Neal too (but knowing her VH1 record, she probably has Exec. Producing credits), why there is just so much hair tossing--mainly done by men, why there is a fight in the "upscale" salon involving a taser and transexuals, and why Elgin is trying his damndest to make these "commercials" for his hair products. Someone make it stop! VH1's "Beverly Hills Fabulous" premieres Monday, March 14th at 10PM ET/PT. You ready? 'Cuz I'm sure as hell not... |
Fantasia Boycotted The 2011 Grammys Because Of Aretha Franklin Tribute Snub Posted: 15 Feb 2011 01:35 PM PST Fantasia's experience with the 53rd Grammy Awards was "Bittersweet." Although she won her first Grammy ever, Fanny says she didn't show up to the award show because she felt snubbed when she wasn't asked to be a part of the Aretha Franklin tribute. Hear what she said when she called into "106 & Park" this week to discuss it...
Fantasia may have won her first Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance for "Bittersweet" on Sunday, but her heart wouldn't let her attend the awards show. Fanny says she felt overlooked when she wasn't asked to participate in Aretha Franklin's tribute. She recently called into "106 & Park" to talk about her absence from the show and how she felt while watching the tribute:
So Fanny did her own tribute to 'Retha while cooking? She also said she was "going through some things." Whatever eases your nerves boo. Listen to the audio here: Do you agree with Fanny? |
DO WE LOVE IT?: Rihanna's Haute Couture Look For The 2011 BRIT AWARDS Posted: 15 Feb 2011 01:19 PM PST As Awards season starts to wind down here in the U.S., Rihanna booked it to London after Sunday night's Grammys to hit the red carpet of tonight's 2011 Brit Awards.
Decide if we love Rihanna's colorful Christian Dior Haute Couture l'entrée when you read on...
Holy colors! Rihanna prepped everyone's eyes for spring as she hit tonight's 2011 Brit Awards red carpet at London's O2 arena in this strapless Christian Dior Haute Couture gown. Her patent turquoise pumps popped beneath a full tulle skirted layered turquoise dress with a purple and white watercolor patterned strapless bodice, all cinched together with a bright chartreuse bow around the waist. She rocked her red hair in a straight and sleek bob much like Sunday night, with matching deep red nails to boot. Wonder what she's going to wear for her performance tonight... So... DO WE LOVE IT?!
UPDATE: Rihanna won at tonight's awards for Best International Female Artist.

Posted: 15 Feb 2011 12:44 PM PST If you've seen the promos for "Celebrity Apprentice" you can see that there will be a showdown between Star Jones and NeNe Leakes. And though the show doesn't start till March 6, we are getting a preview of the war of words already. Come inside to hear what Star had to say about NeNe's remarks and find out why Flavor Flav wants to go back to high school in the name of reality tv ...
Earlier this month, NeNe Leakes told Wendy Williams, “I wouldn’t spit on Star if she was on fire.” Now, Star is responding to NeNe's remark. She tells Life & Style magazine:
Well said Star. It does seem like NeNe Leakes has become a different person. But fame, money and the spotlight can do that. Besides "Celebrity Apprentice", Star is busy with her new job as Editor-At-Large for Uptown Magazine.
In other reality tv news,
Flavor Flav is pitching a new reality show that will follow him earning his high school diploma in the same Iowa town where he opened his chicken joint. I guess umpteen seasons of "Flavor of Love" just weren't enough. Mr. Flav recently pitched his idea for "Flavor Flav Goes Back to High School" to the local school superintendent and a school board member in Clinton, Iowa. He says he'll approach the full board in a couple of weeks. I would pay to see that presentation. Flav, whose real name is William Drayton Jr., grew up in Freeport, New York but dropped out of school in 10th grade. Getting your diploma will be a good thing Flav. Even if the show falls through, you should do it anyway. It'll be for the best....

Chad Ocho Cinco's Having A Baby....With A Chick Who ISN'T Evelyn?! Posted: 15 Feb 2011 12:17 PM PST It's about that time. Time for the sidechicks to start talking. Now that Chad Ocho Cinco is all over the place flaunting his new fiance Evelyn Lozada, a chick in Philly is claiming she is pregnant with his baby. Hmmm.
Read on for the deets and what Chad has to say about it when you read on... And here we go.... Bengals baller Chad Ocho Cinco and "Basketball Wife" star Evelyn Lozada started dating several months ago and quickly became engaged. But while they're roaming round the country hitting up parties and such and snapping coupley pics everywhere--a chick in Philly says don't believe the hype. Chad and Evelyn lying for attention? NO....IMPOSSIBLE! Anywho, the woman's name is Page and she claims she and Chad have actually been dating for a while now. She says Chad has told her several times he is only "dating" Evelyn for money. And Page even calls him on 3-way...while she was being interviewed by Miss Jones on her Philly radio show just this morning...and gets him to admit that very tidbit saying, "I told you...I'm doing that for money." Apparently that audio will be released soon. And it gets better. Page says she's 3 months pregnant with Chad's baby. Check out this messy ish Richmond radio personality TT Torrez learned from Jonesy herself after the interview:
Chad took to Twitter today to call TT "dumb" for allegedly believing everything she hears. But if the audio does, in fact, turn up.... A baller possibly cheating and/or doing thirsty ish like dating a reality chick for money and publicity? Well that wouldn't be much of a shocker. We're not sure who to believe, but in about 7 months, we can cue the Maury Povich music to find out what's really hood. |
Posted: 15 Feb 2011 11:24 AM PST We told you earlier about Lil' Kim's new Black Friday mixtape, now we can finally reveal to you the cover. Come inside to see the pic plus R. Kelly's late night performance on "Lopez Tonight" and Faith Evans' latest video.
Lil' Kim has released the cover artwork for her mixtape and it's a mess. In the pic, The Queen B has "slayed" Nicki Minaj and is sitting in a pool of her blood. I know it's supposed to be metaphorical, but seriously....it's too much. But Kim seems to be happy with the cover and the mixtape itself. She tweeted this:
Alrighty then. Not gonna lie, feel like we were talking about Black Friday 3 years ago it took so damn long for this to finally come out.
In late night talk show performances... R. Kelly stopped by "The George Lopez show" on Valentine's Day to perform "Number One Hit" from the Love Letter album.
Also in new videos... Faith Evans has released a video for the "Right Here" single of her latest album Something About Faith. |
BIG SIGH: New "The Life: Atlanta" Reality Show For Men With A "Chocolate Down-Low Swagger"? Posted: 15 Feb 2011 10:02 AM PST Whispers started last month around the net that a new reality show focusing on the gay black men of Atlanta--and their "down low" world--was in the works. Well apparently it's damn near a done deal because their official sizzle reel for 'The Life: "Atlanta"' just hit the net. And yes, the trailer is MUCH.
Check out the 5 minute trailer for the upcoming show we have no clue who's gonna pick up, plus a few pics from the cast's photoshoot...
'The Life: "Atlanta"' is apparently a look at the black gay male circle of Atlanta. Much of which is of the down-low persuasion--according tot he cast members. This cast of characters (pictured above) seem to be paralleling Bravo's "Housewives" franchise and an all-black version of "The A-List" reality show on Logo. There's a "doctor" (we haven't checked his credentials yet and the last time a man claimed to be a doctor on a Housewives type show....), a "socialite" who claims everyone is trying to be where he is, and many others who claim they are the end all-be all of ATL. Peep their sizzle reel for yourselves HERE. Ok "chocolate swagger"! This ish is MANY things. I'm all for showcasing various ways of life via reality tv, but why must everything be so stereotypical? Goodness. Oh, and there's more. The "cast" did an event last month where they revealed themselves and their new sizzle reel to the masses of ATL. We've got video from it here: One cast member said, "Atlanta is the BEST place to be if you're BLACK, GAY, and MALE." He said it, I didn't. The Randomness: 1. Michael Baisden is now in a courtroom copyright infringement battle with playwrite Je'Caryous Johnson. Story |
Where Is The Love? New Report Suggests Black Marriage Rates Falling Dangerously Low Posted: 15 Feb 2011 08:29 AM PST Although Valentine's Day is over, we still have a few "love and marriage" issues to tackle. A recent study by the U.S. Census Bureau released some pretty depressing statistics about Black marriage rates in America. Yes, it's what you thought. Deets inside...
The good news: Black LOVE isn't the problem. Folks are actually falling and basking in love more than ever. Bad news: Black MARRIAGE now comes few and far between. While 70 percent of black families were headed by married couples in 1963, by 2002, it was down to 48 percent. And sadly, the new statistics don't show any signs of improvement. New data released by the U.S. Census Bureau paints a dreary picture about marriage in Black communities. The report states:
So how does one explain why marriage rates in the Black community fall so much shorter than those of other communities? Some experts say economic issues, incarceration rates, and the increasing number of black women getting college degrees compared to black men all affect the stability or likelihood of Black marriage. Sidenote: It boils my blood that women (in any race) are constantly blamed for the break-up of the American family. Excuse us for educating ourselves for the betterment of the human race. How selfish of us. </sarcasm> Perhaps that reason should change from "women getting more education" to "men and/or the family unit not learning how to adapt to the fact that women are gaining more education." Just a thought. “The obsolescence usually comes from individuals – not the race,” said Julia Hare, Ph.D., and national executive director of The Black Think Tank. Julia says people are swayed by a number of things into "thinking their perfect mate will look a certain way, have a certain type of job, make a certain amount of money and anything short of that is not marriageable material." All of this creates a perfect storm of people going into relationships with conflicting expectations making them "willing pawns in the destruction of their relationships." To move forward Julia recommends:
So what do you think about the future of Black families and Black marriage rates? Is the notion of the overwhelming number of single (unmarried) black females really coming true--or is it a self-fulfilling prophecy? What are some issues you see as impediments for the growth of Black marriages and families? |
