Phil Collins Decides To Retire From Music

If it were for any other reason besides his health, we'd beg him to reconsider. As it stands, we understand why he is making this decision.

For decades, Phil Collins has been a driving force in the music community, but now it seems that he'll be stepping out of the spotlight for good. According to Phil, his doctors have advised him that his hands are too weak to play the drums and if he continues with his music, he may lose function in them all together.

Though the news was hard to hear, but the idea of being able to spend quality time with his two sons was the driving force behind Phil's decision to retire. He explains:

"I'm not worried about not being able to play the drums again, I'm more worried about being able to cut a loaf of bread safely or building things for my kids. My doctors tell me it's a work in progress, that it will take about a year for me to recover."

But even with recovery, Phil believes his hands will never be strong enough to play the drums again. In fact, he reveals for the last several years, he's had to tape his drumsticks to his hands just to be able to play.

Sad, but considering how dedicated he is to his craft, we imagine it was worth it to him.

We think its smart of him to leave his rocking days behind him, at least for the next year to let his hands recover. The future may bring him a solution that'll give him back his music, but for now, he seems to be happy in different aspects of his life.

Good for him!

Meredith Baxter's Ex Husband Denies Abuse Claims

Posted: 06 Mar 2011 11:20 AM PST

meredithbaxterabused__opt1.jpg

Ugh.

David Birney, former husband of TV star Meredith Baxter is denying her claims that he was abusive in their 16-year marriage.

In her memoir, Untied she wrote:

"It was so sudden and unexpected, I couldn't tell you which hand hit me, or even how hard. I do recall thinking, 'I'd better not get up because he's going to hit me again.'"

Now David has made a statement, calling her allegations "an appalling abuse of the truth" describing her memoir as "a kind of fairy tale."

He also says that she "conducted a relentless and brutal assault" for eight years against their shared custody of their three children in what he called an attempt "to destroy that arrangement and replace it with herself as sole custodian."

In his statement, he continued:

"During that time she arrived in court repeatedly with various lawyers and several therapists, 'recovered memories,' accusations of abuse – a common charge in custody disputes – and tales of our life together that bore little resemblance to truth – a mean spirited process that battered us all, especially the children. The court denied her suit on every occasion.

[It's] immensely sad and truly absurd [that she] is unable to reclaim a single instance of joy or pleasure in all that time, not one occasion of love or delight or accomplishment in our entire life together as we built a family. Not one. Nothing from our first meeting to divorce. Nothing, in sixteen years. Really?

This blanket omission, this unrelieved denial of even a single instance of joy or pleasure in the creation of a family, the substance and amazing joy of raising children together, of simply being together with them during that time, is incomprehensible. And sad.

Meredith's own account of these years is its own rebuke to her credibility."

Unbelievable. And terribly sad.

Even their children say the claims are true. How could he deny everything??

Violence is NEVER the answer.

What do U think?

The feeling's obviously mutual!

Kellan Lutz touched down in Vancouver yesterday to start filming Breaking Dawn. As per usual, he was greeted at the airport by a gaggle of paparazzi eager to chat him up and take his picture. Thankfully for them, Kellan was in a particularly good mood!

Check out the video to see how friendly Kellan was to the photogs! (above)

Lupe Fiasco Talks New Album, B.O.B. And Suicidal Thoughts

lupe fiasco talks bob new album and suicidal thoughts

Looks like Lupe Fiasco's got A LOT on his mind that he wants to share with the world before his new album Lasers is released.

Here's Lupe on his extreme reaction to B.o.B. getting all the recognition for Nothing On You, a song he originally recorded:

"That was the tipping point. It was less about the bruised ego but more the audacity of it. It was mentally destructive. I say it with a certain laissez-faire now because I'm past it, but back then, hearin' that s**t, it f**ked me up. I was super-depressed, lightly suicidal, at moments medium suicidal – and if not suicidal, willing to just walk away from it all completely."

And here's Lupe's less-than-positive thoughts on his new album:

"I hate this album. I don't hate the music, but I hate the process. When I look at it, I don't see song titles and artwork, I see the fight – I see the emotions, the blood, sweat and tears. There are a couple of songs on there that I love; but Lasers is a little bit of what you love, a little bit of what you like, and a lot of what you had to do."

We appreciate you opening up to us about all of this, but you realize this isn't going to help your label try and make your new single and album a hit, right?

It's a little bit distressing that you don't seem to care about this. Thanks for the honesty, but if you're so down about this album that you're willing to speak out against it, maybe there are bigger issues still at play.

MIGHT want to seek professional help, Lupe. The drama with B.o.B. is very unfortunate, but it's not worth contemplating suicide over.

Thoughts???

Cher Lloyd Gets Inked Some More!

cher-lloyd-gets-sixth-and-seventh-tattoos

Wow! A little more meaning behind these than one would originally expect!

Cher Lloyd took to her Twitter yesterday to share her latest tattoos with the world, which feature the word "Boo" on her right arm and a birdcage on her left arm (above), along with the following message:

Happy birthday uncle boo, missing you. New tattoo. Xxxx

Apparently, her sixth and seventh inks are in tribute to her Uncle Edward 'Boo Boo' Smith, who passed away in September after taking a lethal dose ofd the heroin substitute methadone.

So sad, but such a nice way to pay tribute to someone she clearly cared about a great deal!

We doubt these will be her last tats, but frankly, we can't even begin to speculate as to what she'll get next!

Spill the deets, gurl! LOLz!

Thoughts?? Do U like Cher's new tattoos??

It's coming together now.

Want to know who else will be joining the cast of NBC's Wonder Woman? As you wish!

Cary Elwes, best known for his roles in The Princess Bride and Liar, Liar, has been cast alongside Adrienne Palicki in David E. Kelley's Wonder reboot. Cary will be playing Henry Detmer, "the acting CEO of Themyscira Industries, who is deeply devoted to Diana."

Sounds like a love interest to us! Ha!

Good for him! Between this and getting a role in New Year's Eve, his resume is getting a real boost!
