The Young, Black, and Fabulous

GUESS THAT CELEB BABY!

Posted: 05 Mar 2011 08:44 AM PST

Even as a baby, she had a beautiful smile. Which long time singer did this cutie turn out to be?

Find out when you read on...

It's singer Shanice! The "I Love Your Smile" singer twit pic'd this baby photo for her followers.  When she is not recording vocals for other big names, she is spending time with her hubby Flex Alexander and their two kids.  Loves it!

DO WE LOVE IT?: Chris Brown & Wiz Khalifa's "Bomb" Track

Posted: 05 Mar 2011 08:27 AM PST

Chris Brown took a break from dying his hair blonde and snapping X-rated full frontal naked pics to drop another track off his upcoming F.A.M.E. album.

Decide if we love his new joint "Bomb" featuring Wiz Khalifa when you read on....

Breezy and Wizzy have hit a few stages together recently as Wiz brought him out a couple times for his "Black & Yellow" performances.

Anywho, "Bomb" reminds me a bit of Esther Dean's "Drop It Low," which Chris was featured on.  The new track, talking mainly about how badly they want to get it in with sexy ladies, is produced by Free School and appears on Breezy's F.A.M.E. album dropping March 22nd.

So...

DO WE LOVE IT?!

COURTSIDE FAB: Ciara, LaLa, Kiyan, & More Cheer On The NY Knicks

Posted: 05 Mar 2011 07:50 AM PST

Ciara and LaLa spent some bestie QT together last night while kickin' it courtside at the NY Knicks game.  LaLa brought little Kiyan along so he could watch daddy Carmelo Anthony play against the Cavs.  Too bad the Knicks lost though.

Pics of the trio, plus others, kickin' it courtside when you read on...

The courtside photo opps have become damn near standard now.  Celebs have been posted up at every Miami Heat, ATL Hawk, NY Knicks, and NJ Nets games that have gone down this year.  So last night was no different.

As the reality show cameras rolled, LaLa and her son Kiyan watched Daddy 'Melo play at Madison Square Garden last night.  I'm sure we'll be seeing some cute footage when their "Full Court Life" reality show airs.

Never one to turn down a photo opp, Ciara accompanied her girl to the game.  LaLa has been real serious about her "Knick Blue" shoe game since Carmelo moved to NY.

Kiyan's such a cutie!

And of course, the girls twitpic'd their time at the game.  Is CiCi wearing denim thigh high boots?  Interesting.

True Knick fan Spike Lee rocked his jersey, shoes, jacket and head gear in support of his home team.

And Tracy Morgan was seen chatting up some chicks courtside.  Watch ya self Tracy...

RED CARPET FAB: YBF Celebs Arrive At The 42nd Annual NAACP Image Awards

Posted: 05 Mar 2011 12:29 AM PST

Stars rolled up to the 42nd annual NAACP Image Awards Friday night in L.A. looking fabulous.  And we've got pics of the stars who hit the red carpet before going inside to receive awards and support other winners.

Over 40+ pics inside of Tia and Tamera Mowry, Halle Berry, Keisha Knight Pulliam, and tons more.

Mrs. Mowry Hardrict showed off her baby bump in beautiful style beside her hubby Cory.  She rocked a Mandalay Couture Collection Chiffon "Goddess Gown" in black with an empire waist and platinum lace top.

She wears pregnancy oh so well.

Her twin sis Tamera also hit the carpet in this long teal gown.

She looked uber cute on the carpet with her fiance.

Halle Berry hit the carpet in all her perfect glory.

Not sure what this chick does but whatever it is, she needs to bottle it up and sell that ish.  Cute gold, white, and silver long sleeved floor length Pucci gown too.

Keisha Knight Pulliam looked pretty in pink in this long strapless and belted fuschia gown.

Loving everything Ms. Pulliam is giving right now.  Hot.

Fab actress Viola Davis hit the carpet with her hubby.

Kimberly Elise brought her two daughters--Butterfly and Ajableu--along for the red carpet ride.  Such gorgeous girls she has!

And she also kicked it with her former For Colored Girls director Tyler Perry.

Oh...I see Tyler brought his "special friend" as well.

Heeey Romeo.

Well well well.  It's about damn time.  Actress Angel Conwell finally looks like a star--and not like a stripper or a thirsty chick still just trying to break into the biz.  Her brand new role as the high powered attorney on "Young & The Restless" is doing her well.  Lovely gown.

And another new "Y&R" star--Julia Pace Mitchell (who also played Biggie's baby mama in Notorious)--hit the carpet in a pretty peach gown.  Not loving the shoes though.

Wayne Brady hit the carpet with his date.

Comedian and actor Affion Crockett looked nice.

Is it just me or does Hill Harper always look like he's posing for his political campaign pics?

Blair Underwood brought his too-cool son on the carpet.  Cute!

Loretta Devine showed off her fresh cut atop this red and bronze look.

"Access Hollywood" correspondent Shaun Robinson wore red for the occasion.  Not my fave dress choice of hers, but she's fab nonetheless.

Actor Dule Hill brought his actress wife, Nicole Lyn, on the carpet.

The fabulous Amber Riley hit the carpet in this dark blue strapless ensemble.  Once again she chooses a dress with the perfect fit.  Loves it.

Kerry Washington got white hot on the carpet.

Simple and chic dress for the carpet.

Salli Richardson got hot in this animal print dress.  Sexy look for her.

Niecy Nash has been glowing lately---and not just because of her sequin dresses.

Because of her fiance Jay she's getting married to in a few months.  Sweet!

Actress Essence Atkins looked chic in this gold and silver one shoulder gown on the carpet.  Nice.

Oh hey Terry McMillan.  Interesting choice of dress you have here.

Regina King brought the sexiness to her strapless cocktail dress that shows off her killer arms and sky-high pumps.

Holly Robinson Peete looked great on the carpet with her YBF daughter Ryan.  Ryan's growing up so fast!

Terry Crews and his wife hit the carpet looking like the fab couple that they are.

Vanessa Bell Calloway rocked this long lace and satin gown that looked straight out of the late 90's.

One of the best looks I've seen on Anika Noni Rose.  Perfect lush purple color and specks of metallic fabric covering her curves make for a gorgeous look on her.

Actress Phylicia Rashad brought her new man on the carpet.  Ok I see you Ms. Phylicia!

Actress Kali Hawk hit the carpet in this drapey gold number.  Pretty look for her.

And Samuel L. Jackson walked the carpet as well.  Is that velvet with a white jacket Sam?  Only you can pull that off...

WELL DAMN! Chris Brown Shows His **** In A Naked Bathroom Sext Pic!

Posted: 04 Mar 2011 04:04 PM PST

Here we go again!  Chris Brown is once again tied to some leaked nekkid pics.  But this time, they're his own.

Read on for the explicit and totally NSFW new pic of blondie Chris snapping a bathroom pic in all his....glory...

Well damn.  We've always been suspicious of what all types of luggage Chris was packin'.  And now we know.  Supposedly, Chris sexted one of his exes a naked pic, taken in his bathroom.  Full on nakedness, full monty, total package.  And now, said ex dropped it into the wrong hands.  How much of an "ex" is this person though if Chris just went blonde a week or so ago...and is blonde in the pic?  Hmmm.

It's unknown at this time if the ex will release the rest of her stash.

While I should be outraged and disgusted that a celeb would pull yet another dumb move and text a naked pic to somebody...I can't help but feel like I just received an early birthday present.  Yes, it's a double standard.  Shame on me.

*eyebrow raised*

No bullsh*t.

SPOTTED: Dave Chapelle Sharing Starbucks With Wife & Baby Girl

Posted: 04 Mar 2011 02:00 PM PST

Dave Chapelle has been on major family-time-chill-mode for the last few years.  So yesterday was no different as he made a rare appearance in the public eye...on a bench outside of an L.A. Starbucks.

Pics of the family outing when you read on...

Dave, his wife Elaine, and their youngest kiddie Sonal all took a coffee and biscotti break yesterday afternoon:

How cute!  Dave also has two older pre-teen sons not pictured.  Fine family fun...

Jill Scott Finally Leaves Hidden Beach Label, Signs With Warner Bros.

Posted: 04 Mar 2011 01:48 PM PST

After a long legal battle with her last record label, Jill Scott has announced that she is joining the Warner Bros. family.  Deets inside...

With over 4 million records sold, three time Grammy Award winning singer/actress Jill Scott has announced a new distribution deal with Warner Bros. Records.  The resulting relationship has birthed her fourth studio album, The Light Of The Sun, to be released later this year.

Asked about the new project, the "Golden" singer revealed:

“I’ve always looked to empower my fans through my message of love, independence and strength,” comments Jill.  A lot has gone on in my life since my last album, so I’m extremely excited to share the new music with all of the people that have supported me these past ten plus years. This album is very revealing, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”

Shawn Gee, of Sports & Entertainment Financial Group, and Jill's business partner is most excited about the partnership they've formed with Warner Bros.

“As the music industry evolves, the relationship between artist, management and label is constantly changing.  Foregoing the traditional formula and strategically creating a true partnership amongst us all, I have to commend Warner Bros. for recognizing Jill’s worldwide brand and acting on it.”

Fans can expect to hear a preview of the Jill's new album when she headlines the upcoming Essence Music Festival alongside Kanye West and Mary J. Blige, July 4th weekend.  Work Jill!

EXCLUSIVE: Inside Marsha Ambrosius' Release Party For "Late Nights & Early Mornings"

Posted: 04 Mar 2011 11:42 AM PST

Singer, songwriter, and producer Marsha Ambrosius celebrated the released of her debut album as a solo artist this week in New York City and TheYBF.com was on the scene for the glamorous bash.

Check out what Ms. Ambrosius dished to us about her newest project and how after breakups and makeups in this business, she now feels at home...

Marsha Ambrosius' solo debut, "Late Nights & Early Mornings," was released Tuesday, and as of Thursday, the album was the second-most downloaded album on iTunes having reached No. 1 the day it was released.

The "Far Away" singer spoke exclusively with TheYBF.com backstage after her performance saying:

"This album is my heart poured out for the world to hear.  I took a chance on sticking to my guns and remaining true to who I am.  And that was as far as how I wanted to present myself, how I wanted to sound, how I wanted to portray "Marsha Ambrosius."  And I came into this situation with J Records who is very accepting of singers.  And I was like, oh...I have found a home."

The fabulous event, held at the Samsung Experience Space in Time Warner Center, was sponsored by Digiwaxx Media, Hennessy, Samsung, and Centric.  Executives from J Records celebrated her long-awaited debut by welcoming her to the stage.

Marsha also mentioned Teena Marie as a source of inspiration saying she was the blueprint for what she hopes to do as a singer and songwriter.  Teena, who used to sing Marsha's song "Say Yes" during her live shows, gave the Liverpool-born, Philly-based songstress the stamp of approval as an artist.

When previously asked about the album's title, she said:

"It goes with the lifestyle, it's the grind. It's late nights in the studio, it's early mornings of having to get on the Acela and get up to New York and do interviews. ... Late night, early mornings: it's the life of an artist, but I think everyone can relate to that."

Marsha also announced she will be headlining the BET Music Matters Tour with Melanie Fiona kicking off on March 16 in Dallas, Texas with shows in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Houston, Sacramento, Cleveland, Chicago, Philadelphia, New York, Baltimore, Atlanta, and Memphis before wrapping up on April 13 in Nashville.

After a glorious reception from her fans, Marsha returned to the stage at the end of the night to do an encore performance of "Butterflies" which had the audience on its feet.

Annie Leibovitz has created a new photoshoot called Disney Dream Portraits that depict big-name celebrities in scenes from Disney movie favorites. The series includes Queen Latifah, Whoopi Goldberg, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony.  See the fantasy photos, plus SoSo Def's Dondria's new shoot, inside...

The images, part of the Disney Dream Portrait Series for Disney Parks, will be inserted in April issues of several magazines.

Queen Latifah whips up a storm as Ursula from The Little Mermaid in a photo called 'Queen Latifah Comes Ashore As Ursula.'

Queen Latifah and Annie Leibovitz even discussed the direction of the shoot.

In this fantasy, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony posed as Jasmine and Aladdin in a photo called 'Where a Whole New World Awaits.'

And in the second part of the 'Aladdin' series, Whoopi Goldberg plays the Genie.

Last year's photos were great as well.  Love them, it's such a cool concept.

SoSo Def artist Dondria recently sat for a photoshoot.

The "You're The One" singer is currently promoting her Duets 2 mixtape.

On this latest project, she adds her voice to songs by a number of male R&B and hip-hop artists, including Chris Brown, Drake, Trey Songz and Bruno Mars.  Pretty pics for the Texan cutie.

SPOTTED: Cassie Shops It Up With Malika Haqq & Lauren London In L.A.

Posted: 04 Mar 2011 09:50 AM PST

It was ladies' day out in L.A.  Three fab chicks--actress (and Khloe Kardashian's bestie) Malika Haqq, actress Lauren London, and singer Cassie all hit the streets of L.A. to have some Chanel shoping moments.

Pic of the ladies when you read on...

Cassie's still rocking her side shaven head look and pulled the middle up into a ponytail while copping some new clothes.

She had some fun with laid back Lauren and Malika.  Fab times indeed.
